those_o usurp_a tyrant_n especial_o where_o they_o have_v have_v long_a possession_n such_o be_v too_o hard_o for_o a_o man_n to_o mortify_v the_o more_o strength_n and_o the_o long_a possession_n any_o sin_n have_v have_v the_o more_o difficulty_n to_o overcome_v it_o 4._o this_o proceed_v from_o the_o deceitfulness_n of_o sin_n and_o satan_n he_o often_o paint_v sin_n in_o the_o colour_n of_o object_n do_v feed_v lust_n more_o than_o the_o have_v of_o it_o as_o appear_v in_o ammon_n wax_a lean_a day_n by_o day_n for_o love_n of_o his_o sister_n and_o afteward_n how_o do_v he_o hate_v she_o may_v some_o way_n stir_v yea_o you_o think_v of_o nothing_o whether_o existent_a or_o not_o but_o it_o excite_v some_o inordinate_a motion_n hence_o they_o be_v call_v the_o imagination_n of_o the_o heart_n gen._n 6.8_o the_o wander_a of_o the_o desire_n eccles_n 6.9_o it_o be_v true_a this_o be_v a_o further_a degree_n of_o sinful_a stir_n in_o the_o heart_n when_o it_o entertain_v wild_a imagination_n and_o please_v itself_o with_o idle_a fancy_n that_o give_v rise_v to_o many_o sinful_a project_n indeed_o nature_n itself_o teach_v this_o to_o be_v a_o sin_n and_o it_o be_v a_o subjection_n it_o be_v hard_a to_o expel_v they_o when_o they_o come_v in_o and_o much_o hard_o not_o to_o suffer_v they_o to_o come_v in_o such_o be_v the_o cunning_a and_o activity_n of_o sin_n such_o access_n have_v satan_n to_o work_v upon_o we_o and_o so_o leaven_v be_v our_o imagination_n and_o mind_n with_o sin_n yet_o in_o some_o they_o be_v more_o frequent_a than_o other_o the_o best_a groan_n under_o they_o but_o some_o be_v almost_o smother_v with_o they_o to_o speak_v so_o and_o their_o grace_n almost_o suffocate_v with_o they_o habitual_a corruption_n be_v a_o fruitful_a womb_n and_o this_o be_v lively_a in_o some_o than_o in_o other_o and_o the_o same_o person_n be_v near_a god_n and_o in_o a_o lively_a frame_n and_o have_v more_o inward_a serenity_n and_o composure_n of_o spirit_n at_o one_o time_n than_o another_o and_o so_o be_v like_o a_o city_n with_o gate_n and_o bar_n at_o other_o time_n a_o man_n be_v at_o great_a distance_n from_o god_n and_o out_o of_o frame_n and_o then_o he_o be_v like_o a_o city_n break_v down_o and_o without_o wall_n and_o the_o heart_n be_v haunt_v with_o satyr_n and_o owl_n when_o the_o heart_n be_v in_o a_o ill_a frame_n it_o be_v like_o damp_n tinder_n to_o divine_a motion_n but_o it_o be_v like_o dry_a tinder_n to_o every_o spark_n of_o a_o temptation_n that_o come_v in_o by_o the_o sense_n or_o by_o rove_a imagination_n yea_o it_o take_v fire_n of_o its_o self_n and_o if_o it_o be_v not_o well_o watch_v will_v quick_o come_v to_o a_o flame_n indeed_o it_o be_v no_o easy_a task_n to_o keep_v out_o these_o there_o be_v so_o many_o several_a passage_n they_o come_v in_o at_o and_o they_o can_v creep_v in_o at_o a_o small_a rent_n or_o hole_n therefore_o there_o be_v need_n of_o the_o utmost_a watchfulness_n and_o diligence_n to_o keep_v they_o out_o and_o to_o knock_v they_o down_o when_o they_o come_v in_o for_o the_o three_o thing_n propose_v viz._n some_o consideration_n for_o press_v the_o mortification_n of_o these_o first_o stir_n of_o our_o corruption_n 1._o i_o shall_v mention_v some_o aggravation_n of_o the_o sin_n and_o sad_a consequence_n of_o these_o 2._o i_o shall_v asleep_a and_o dream_v to_o be_v sinful_a and_o defile_v and_o indeed_o what_o prove_v the_o first_o motion_n of_o sin_n when_o awake_a to_o be_v sinful_a do_v also_o prove_v they_o such_o when_o asleep_o and_o the_o more_o power_n a_o christian_a when_o awake_a have_v over_o they_o the_o more_o holy_a he_o be_v the_o less_o be_v he_o trouble_v with_o these_o and_o it_o be_v manifest_a that_o they_o be_v the_o flow_n out_o the_o bubling_n and_o springing_n up_o or_o emanation_n of_o our_o original_a corruption_n or_o the_o imperfect_a motion_n of_o vicious_a principle_n or_o habit_n for_o as_o innocent_a dream_n follow_v the_o sinless_a constitution_n of_o the_o body_n so_o sinful_a dream_n follow_v the_o vicious_a constitution_n of_o the_o soul_n which_o possible_o a_o man_n natural_a temper_n of_o body_n have_v advantage_v and_o so_o be_v gross_a outward_a act_n of_o sin_n also_o which_o yet_o do_v not_o prove_v they_o to_o be_v no_o sin_n we_o can_v think_v that_o our_o nature_n in_o the_o state_n of_o innocency_n will_v have_v bring_v forth_o any_o such_o inordinate_a motion_n sleep_v or_o wake_v so_o that_o the_o apology_n some_o make_v for_o they_o as_o be_v natural_a be_v naught_o they_o be_v in_o no_o other_o sense_n natural_a nay_o nor_o necessary_a than_o the_o same_o motion_n when_o one_o be_v awake_a if_o any_o shall_v say_v they_o be_v from_o satan_n injection_n which_o render_v we_o not_o culpable_a i_o answer_v 1._o this_o be_v the_o same_o with_o what_o the_o quaker_n say_v of_o the_o first_o rise_n of_o corruption_n when_o one_o be_v awake_a the_o
