torture_v but_o such_o a_o fickle_a and_o perishable_a life_n which_o the_o next_o minute_n may_v be_v do_v and_o let_v he_o drop_v away_o to_o hell_n for_o ever_o oh_o how_o sudden_o may_v such_o perish_v and_o come_v to_o a_o fearful_a end_n but_o if_o we_o live_v the_o life_n of_o christ_n that_o be_v a_o last_a and_o abide_v life_n and_o though_o the_o natural_a life_n decay_n and_o though_o the_o body_n die_v and_o rot_v and_o turn_v to_o dust_n and_o putrefaction_n yet_o this_o will_v flourish_v and_o grow_v strong_a still_o till_o it_o be_v perfect_v and_o make_v consummate_v in_o the_o life_n of_o glory_n and_o why_o then_o be_v our_o labour_n and_o endeavour_n whole_o spend_v to_o nourish_v and_o maintain_v this_o transitory_a life_n with_o thing_n that_o perish_v in_o the_o use_n which_o yet_o when_o all_o be_v do_v will_v fail_v and_o come_v to_o dissolution_n but_o never_o strive_v for_o the_o attainment_n of_o that_o life_n which_o be_v eternal_a it_o be_v a_o lamentable_a thing_n my_o brethren_n that_o the_o divine_a intention_n of_o eternal_a mind_n shall_v be_v lay_v out_o on_o nothing_o else_o but_o perishable_a thing_n now_o that_o you_o may_v attain_v when_o she_o have_v party_n in_o her_o womb_n if_o it_o be_v so_o why_o be_o i_o thus_o and_o therefore_o we_o have_v need_v to_o put_v some_o spirit_n into_o this_o persuasion_n and_o you_o have_v need_v to_o put_v some_o spirit_n into_o your_o endeavour_n and_o if_o the_o lord_n will_v put_v his_o spirit_n of_o unity_n and_o peace_n into_o we_o it_o may_v subdue_v and_o overcome_v the_o spirit_n of_o division_n which_o reign_v too_o much_o abroad_o in_o these_o time_n but_o you_o will_v ask_v i_o how_o may_v we_o attain_v this_o and_o what_o be_v we_o to_o do_v that_o we_o may_v come_v to_o be_v at_o near_a unity_n among_o ourselves_o though_o it_o be_v very_o difficult_a as_o you_o have_v hear_v it_o may_v be_v compass_v notwithstanding_o by_o the_o blessing_n of_o the_o lord_n upon_o the_o use_n of_o these_o direction_n you_o must_v endeavour_v to_o the_o utmost_a of_o your_o power_n to_o mortify_v those_o lust_n and_o those_o corruption_n that_o incline_v you_o to_o christ_n be_v so_o too_o if_o it_o be_v not_o perishable_a in_o the_o spring_n assure_o it_o be_v not_o perishable_a in_o the_o stream_n this_o life_n of_o grace_n my_o brethren_n be_v communicate_v and_o derive_v from_o christ_n the_o root_n to_o we_o the_o branch_n from_o he_o the_o head_n to_o we_o the_o member_n and_o if_o it_o fail_v not_o in_o the_o head_n and_o in_o the_o root_n how_o one_o side_n with_o threat_n and_o bloody_a persecution_n on_o the_o other_o but_o this_o we_o may_v rely_v upon_o the_o world_n shall_v never_o overcome_v we_o for_o christ_n have_v overcome_v the_o world_n and_o we_o must_v know_v that_o christ_n have_v overcome_v the_o world_n not_o for_o himself_o alone_o but_o for_o his_o member_n and_o as_o he_o overcome_v it_o for_o we_o so_o he_o do_v overcome_v it_o in_o we_o too_o by_o his_o grace_n as_o the_o apostle_n intimate_v 1_o john_n 5.5_o this_o be_v the_o victory_n that_o overcome_v the_o world_n even_o your_o faith_n the_o devil_n be_v a_o far_o more_o subtle_a and_o pernicious_a adversary_n than_o the_o world_n but_o yet_o he_o can_v overthrow_v this_o life_n of_o grace_n in_o any_o of_o the_o saint_n the_o gate_n of_o hell_n can_v so_o far_o prevail_v against_o they_o the_o serpent_n can_v but_o bruise_v the_o heel_n of_o christ_n and_o those_o that_o appertain_v to_o christ_n he_o can_v touch_v the_o head_n or_o breast_n he_o can_v wound_v we_o in_o the_o vital_a part_n or_o take_v away_o our_o life_n from_o we_o the_o flesh_n be_v the_o worst_a enemy_n of_o all_o in_o this_o respect_n because_o it_o be_v a_o inward_a enemy_n and_o a_o mortal_a enemy_n either_o that_o must_v die_v or_o we_o as_o the_o apostle_n paul_n insinuate_v rom._n 8.13_o but_o here_o be_v our_o comfort_n now_o the_o the_o flesh_n shall_v die_v and_o we_o shall_v live_v christ_n will_v destroy_v the_o flesh_n in_o we_o and_o he_o will_v put_v the_o spirit_n into_o we_o and_o maintain_v the_o spirit_n in_o we_o and_o by_o this_o where_o he_o speak_v of_o some_o revolter_n who_o be_v twice_o dead_a for_o that_o be_v his_o expression_n there_o they_o be_v tree_n who_o fruit_n wither_v object_n twice_o dead_a pluck_v up_o by_o the_o root_n and_o how_o be_v they_o twice_o dead_a they_o be_v not_o dead_a at_o all_o in_o regard_n of_o their_o outward_a and_o natural_a life_n for_o they_o be_v then_o alive_a and_o work_a mischief_n in_o the_o church_n and_o therefore_o out_o of_o question_n his_o intention_n must_v be_v this_o first_o they_o be_v dead_a in_o trespass_n and_o sin_n then_o for_o a_o while_n in_o some_o which_o threaten_v we_o with_o the_o destruction_n of_o the_o life_n of_o grace_n it_o be_v a_o great_a affliction_n to_o the_o saint_n sometime_o when_o they_o be_v mighty_o assault_v by_o satan_n and_o their_o own_o corruption_n and_o even_o ready_a to_o be_v overcome_v they_o cry_v out_o with_o relation_n to_o their_o spiritual_a as_o job_n with_o respect_n to_o his_o natural_a life_n what_o name_n of_o life_n then_o certain_o the_o death_n that_o overthrow_v no_o other_o but_o the_o life_n of_o nature_n deserve_v not_o the_o name_n of_o death_n and_o hence_o the_o death_n of_o
