continue_v whereas_o they_o can_v neither_o rescue_v or_o ransom_v themselves_o or_o dear_a friend_n from_o the_o power_n of_o death_n that_o he_o shall_v live_v for_o ever_o and_o not_o see_v corruption_n for_o he_o see_v that_o wise_a man_n die_v likewise_o the_o fool_n and_o the_o brutish_a person_n shall_v perish_v and_o leave_v their_o wealth_n to_o other_o this_o show_v their_o they_o go_v on_o even_o like_a to_o the_o brute_n beast_n which_o when_o they_o see_v one_o of_o their_o own_o herd_n lead_v away_o to_o the_o slaughter-house_n regard_v it_o not_o but_o delight_n as_o much_o as_o before_o in_o their_o fat_a pasture_n sit_v themselves_o daily_o more_o and_o more_o for_o the_o same_o end_n so_o these_o though_o they_o see_v those_o that_o be_v frame_v of_o the_o much_o fair_a speech_n she_o cause_v he_o to_o yield_v with_o the_o flatter_a of_o her_o lip_n she_o force_v he_o he_o go_v after_o her_o straight_a way_n as_o a_o ox_n go_v to_o the_o slaughter_n or_o as_o a_o fool_n to_o the_o correction_n of_o the_o stock_n till_o a_o dart_n strike_v through_o his_o liver_n as_o a_o bird_n haste_v to_o the_o snare_n and_o know_v not_o that_o it_o be_v for_o the_o stock_n etc._n etc._n so_o the_o wise_a man_n in_o eccles._n 11._o 9_o show_n the_o solly_n and_o forgetfulness_n of_o young_a man_n where_o by_o way_n of_o irony_n and_o in_o a_o holy_a scorn_n he_o bide_v they_o do_v that_o which_o they_o will_v do_v though_o never_o so_o much_o forbid_v and_o threaten_v rejoice_v o_o young_a man_n in_o thy_o youth_n and_o let_v thy_o heart_n cheer_v thou_o towards_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v above_o but_o what_o be_v the_o issue_n but_o know_v thou_o that_o for_o all_o these_o thing_n god_n will_v bring_v thou_o to_o judgement_n even_o these_o thing_n which_o thou_o make_v nothing_o off_o as_o pardonable_a error_n of_o youth_n shall_v be_v scan_v in_o the_o impartial_a judgement_n of_o god_n and_o he_o will_v bring_v thou_o to_o judgement_n for_o they_o all_o chap._n iu._n iii_o in_o the_o next_o place_n i_o be_o to_o show_v the_o cause_n of_o this_o forgetfulness_n in_o the_o young_a sort_n and_o here_o it_o be_v but_o a_o idle_a piece_n of_o philosophy_n to_o ascribe_v it_o to_o the_o natural_a moisture_n and_o fluid_a temper_n of_o their_o brain_n whereby_o the_o impression_n of_o thing_n be_v present_o dissolve_v like_o letter_n write_v in_o the_o water_n no_o this_o forgetfulness_n be_v as_o well_o in_o the_o heart_n as_o in_o the_o brain_n and_o require_v a_o further_a search_n into_o its_o cause_n 1._o in_o the_o first_o place_n then_o one_o special_a cause_n be_v a_o fleshly_a confidence_n in_o the_o natural_a strength_n of_o body_n and_o hope_v of_o long_a life_n they_o look_v at_o death_n as_o a_o thing_n afar_o off_o even_o out_o of_o sight_n and_o therefore_o suffer_v not_o the_o apprehension_n of_o it_o to_o make_v any_o such_o impression_n upon_o they_o as_o in_o any_o degree_n to_o lessen_v that_o carnal_a sensual_a content_n which_o they_o take_v in_o the_o glut_n of_o earthly_a vanity_n the_o blind_a worldling_n when_o his_o barn_n be_v full_a bless_a himself_o in_o his_o own_o conceit_a happiness_n soul_n take_v thy_o ease_n thou_o have_v good_n lay_v up_o for_o many_o year_n but_o these_o person_n think_v they_o have_v the_o advantage_n of_o he_o for_o whereas_o his_o soul_n that_o night_n be_v to_o be_v take_v from_o his_o good_n they_o think_v they_o have_v life_n in_o store_n for_o many_o year_n a_o so_o with_o the_o unfaithful_a servant_n conclude_v that_o their_o master_n will_v defer_v his_o come_n and_o they_o may_v safe_o delay_v their_o repentance_n and_o put_v he_o out_o of_o their_o remembrance_n as_o gaal_n and_o the_o man_n of_o shechem_n can_v eat_v and_o drink_v and_o curse_n abimilech_n because_o they_o think_v he_o be_v not_o near_o they_o though_o he_o be_v near_a than_o they_o be_v aware_a so_o the_o young_a sort_n can_v satisfy_v their_o lust_n and_o please_v themselves_o and_o do_v what_o they_o will_v scorn_v all_o admonition_n or_o threaten_n of_o death_n because_o they_o think_v it_o not_o near_o unto_o they_o whereas_o perhaps_o death_n as_o the_o punishment_n of_o sin_n lie_v at_o their_o door_n and_o will_v be_v find_v to_o have_v waylay_v they_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o their_o vanity_n and_o to_o cut_v they_o off_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o their_o strength_n and_o sin_n strength_n health_n abundance_n of_o spirit_n freedom_n from_o ache_n pain_n and_o bodily_a distemper_n do_v put_v death_n out_o of_o their_o thought_n and_o they_o will_v leave_v crooked_a and_o wayward_a old_a age_n to_o vex_v itself_o with_o pensive_a remembrance_n of_o the_o grave_a 2._o the_o lively_a vigour_n of_o youth_n fill_v they_o with_o a_o kind_n be_v the_o day_n of_o youth_n they_o be_v a_o man_n prime_n and_o his_o good_a day_n 2._o the_o day_n of_o youth_n be_v good_a day_n because_o ordinary_o they_o be_v the_o day_n of_o best_a health_n and_o strength_n day_n wherein_o we_o be_v of_o able_a body_n for_o any_o special_a service_n for_o although_o it_o be_v true_a that_o in_o the_o worship_n of_o god_n bodily_a exercise_n profit_v but_o little_a in_o comparison_n of_o the_o inward_a power_n of_o godliness_n yet_o strength_n and_o health_n when_o they_o be_v make_v serviceable_a to_o a_o sanctify_a upright_a heart_n be_v of_o special_a use_n both_o in_o the_o immediate_a worship_n of_o god_n and_o in_o the_o performance_n of_o many_o office_n of_o love_n which_o we_o ought_v to_o do_v towards_o our_o brethren_n in_o the_o spirit_n when_o in_o its_o fervour_n and_o strength_n of_o affection_n it_o gather_v up_o and_o put_v forth_o all_o its_o power_n in_o earnest_a supplication_n before_o the_o throne_n of_o grace_n if_o then_o it_o have_v a_o sound_a healthy_a body_n able_a to_o bear_v the_o intention_n of_o a_o fervent_a spirit_n without_o faint_v or_o distraction_n you_o know_v that_o if_o the_o arrow_n be_v decay_a time_n in_o young_a year_n it_o have_v those_o golden_a day_n wherein_o the_o understanding_n be_v quick_a in_o apprehension_n teachable_a and_o apt_a to_o receive_v impression_n the_o memory_n faithful_a the_o judgement_n good_a and_o sound_a the_o affection_n strong_a and_o stir_a therefore_o these_o be_v the_o good_a day_n wherein_o it_o be_v fit_a to_o be_v use_v in_o the_o work_n and_o service_n of_o god_n and_o as_o in_o the_o spring_n all_o these_o concur_v together_o the_o tree_n in_o their_o fresh_a clothing_n the_o face_n of_o the_o earth_n renew_v the_o beauty_n of_o herb_n and_o flower_n together_o with_o the_o sun_n be_v shine_v bright_o in_o his_o strength_n and_o glory_n make_v up_o good_a day_n whereas_o in_o the_o winter_n the_o brightness_n of_o the_o sun_n make_v but_o a_o imperfect_a good_a day_n while_o the_o tree_n and_o field_n be_v strip_v dead_a and_o wither_a the_o ground_n cover_v with_o mire_n and_o dirt_n so_o the_o meeting_n of_o these_o together_o the_o birthright_n of_o youth_n the_o strength_n and_o health_n of_o the_o body_n the_o quickness_n of_o the_o sense_n the_o activeness_n and_o abundance_n of_o the_o spirit_n the_o perfection_n of_o the_o soul_n etc._n etc._n make_v the_o day_n of_o youth_n good_a day_n whereas_o although_o in_o the_o winter_n of_o old_a age_n the_o sun_n may_v shine_v the_o principle_n of_o
