repentance_n and_o conversion_n be_v unclean_a in_o the_o eye_n of_o god_n for_o their_o marriage_n be_v not_o lawful_a before_o god_n and_o therefore_o in_o ezra_n these_o that_o have_v so_o marry_v but_o lie_v in_o wait_n dog_n and_o pursue_v he_o and_o meet_v he_o at_o every_o turn_n till_o it_o have_v bring_v he_o to_o naught_o unless_o he_o by_o repentance_n first_o bring_v it_o to_o naught_o this_o than_o must_v be_v the_o first_o care_n if_o one_o have_v be_v a_o fornicator_n to_o repent_v for_o that_o but_o if_o one_o have_v not_o yet_o he_o must_v keep_v and_o observe_v this_o second_o rule_n every_o marry_a person_n must_v labour_v for_o pure_a and_o fervent_a love_n to_o his_o yoke-fellow_n as_o prou._n 5._o he_o will_v man_n not_o to_o follow_v after_o the_o strange_a woman_n before_o so_o to_o be_v ready_a after_o to_o find_v occasion_n and_o jar_n and_o dislike_n but_o it_o be_v a_o gift_n of_o god_n and_o a_o spark_n that_o come_v from_o heaven_n and_o have_v this_o virtue_n to_o make_v a_o man_n live_v chaste_o but_o now_o if_o one_o will_v say_v adultery_n sure_o i_o will_v never_o be_v a_o adulterer_n yet_o for_o all_o that_o he_o care_v not_o for_o his_o own_o wife_n but_o contemn_v and_o despise_v she_o he_o have_v no_o warrant_n to_o say_v so_o nay_o he_o take_v the_o next_o way_n to_o bring_v himself_o into_o the_o snare_n of_o adultery_n by_o this_o first_o breach_n of_o the_o bond_n of_o marriage_n in_o that_o he_o do_v not_o love_v his_o wife_n an_o other_o mean_n to_o avoid_v adultery_n be_v set_v down_o in_o proverb_n 2._o 8._o 16._o if_o knowledge_n enter_v into_o thy_o heart_n and_o wisdom_n delight_v thy_o soul_n then_o shall_v it_o keep_v thou_o from_o the_o strange_a woman_n that_o flatter_v with_o her_o lip_n to_o delight_v any_o other_o such_o like_a deal_n if_o ever_o he_o will_v have_v god_n hear_v his_o prayer_n and_o receive_v his_o sacrifice_n before_o his_o offering_n he_o must_v make_v recompense_n the_o interest_n and_o the_o five_o part_n etc._n etc._n i_o but_o he_o be_v go_v i_o know_v he_o not_o or_o can_v tell_v where_o to_o have_v he_o i_o but_o do_v you_o know_v none_o of_o his_o kindred_n first_o the_o thing_n be_v of_o some_o price_n and_o the_o person_n be_v wicked_a and_o will_v be_v willing_a to_o take_v the_o advantage_n and_o follow_v the_o occasion_n to_o put_v i_o to_o death_n therefore_o here_o danger_n seem_v to_o stop_v one_o mouth_n and_o it_o be_v better_a to_o live_v in_o safety_n then_o to_o make_v restitution_n with_o peril_n of_o his_o life_n but_o though_o the_o case_n shall_v fall_v out_o thus_o yet_o the_o law_n of_o restitution_n admit_v no_o such_o exception_n one_o must_v restore_v yet_o wisdom_n must_v be_v use_v in_o this_o case_n that_o both_o the_o party_n offend_v may_v be_v satiffy_v and_o the_o party_n which_o have_v offend_v may_v be_v in_o safety_n therefore_o some_o other_o three_o person_n of_o wisdom_n and_o gravity_n a_o man_n of_o good_a account_n for_o religion_n and_o honesty_n must_v be_v choose_v to_o who_o the_o secret_a may_v be_v without_o peril_n reveal_v and_o by_o who_o mean_n the_o wrong_n do_v may_v be_v full_o answer_v and_o he_o must_v restore_v it_o in_o the_o name_n of_o the_o other_o conceal_v his_o name_n and_o particular_a fault_n as_o thus_o he_o may_v speak_v there_o be_v a_o man_n that_o in_o time_n of_o his_o ignorance_n have_v wrong_v and_o endamage_v you_o and_o now_o that_o god_n have_v touch_v his_o heart_n with_o true_a repentance_n he_o be_v willing_a to_o satisfy_v you_o to_o the_o full_a and_o therefore_o have_v by_o i_o send_v you_o so_o much_o as_o will_v full_o recommpence_v your_o loss_n yet_o he_o desire_v to_o conceal_v his_o name_n because_o of_o peril_n that_o may_v ensue_v by_o some_o such_o wise_a and_o godly_a course_n amends_n may_v be_v full_o make_v to_o the_o party_n that_o sustain_v the_o wrong_n and_o he_o that_o do_v the_o wrong_n be_v nothing_o at_o all_o endanger_v for_o by_o god_n blessing_n no_o man_n be_v so_o malicious_a but_o by_o the_o wisdom_n and_o godly_a counsel_n of_o the_o man_n that_o be_v employ_v in_o this_o thing_n and_o the_o full_a satisfaction_n and_o good_a deal_n of_o the_o man_n that_o do_v wrong_v he_o will_v have_v hold_v himself_o content_v without_o any_o further_a prosecute_n of_o revengment_n but_o there_o come_v yet_o a_o further_a doubt_n i_o be_o not_o able_a to_o restore_v i_o have_v not_o where_o withal_o then_o where_o nothing_o be_v to_o be_v have_v it_o be_v a_o common_a proverb_n the_o prince_n must_v loose_v his_o right_n but_o yet_o so_o that_o a_o man_n must_v plain_o and_o full_o confess_v his_o fault_n if_o there_o be_v not_o ability_n for_o restitution_n yet_o a_o man_n must_v not_o neglect_v confession_n and_o this_o further_a a_o man_n must_v covenant_n with_o himself_o that_o if_o ever_o it_o please_v god_n to_o give_v he_o ability_n he_o will_v be_v answerable_a to_o the_o full_a to_o all_o such_o wrong_n and_o then_o as_o we_o be_v in_o affection_n so_o god_n will_v account_v we_o indeed_o if_o one_o can_v say_v in_o truth_n of_o heart_n o_o lord_n i_o confess_v my_o fault_n to_o thou_o and_o have_v confess_v it_o also_o to_o the_o person_n who_o i_o have_v offend_v and_o though_o i_o be_v not_o able_a to_o recompense_v he_o yet_o i_o resolve_v with_o myself_o and_o make_v a_o covenant_n with_o my_o own_o conscience_n that_o if_o ever_o i_o have_v it_o i_o will_v pay_v he_o and_o if_o i_o have_v it_o now_o i_o will_v differ_v no_o long_o he_o shall_v have_v it_o now_o in_o mean_a time_n i_o will_v not_o cease_v to_o supply_v that_o by_o my_o prayer_n which_o by_o reason_n of_o poverty_n be_v want_v in_o my_o payment_n that_o my_o humble_a suit_n to_o and_o therefore_o we_o see_v how_o he_o go_v about_o crafty_o to_o bring_v he_o in_o danger_n under_o a_o show_n of_o friendship_n and_o forsooth_o do_v bear_v such_o a_o good_a mind_n to_o david_n that_o worthy_a man_n and_o faithful_a captain_n that_o have_v venture_v his_o life_n for_o god_n cause_n and_o in_o the_o defence_n of_o his_o people_n as_o that_o he_o will_v free_o and_o willing_o admit_v he_o to_o so_o near_o a_o place_n as_o to_o be_v the_o king_n son_n in_o law_n and_o therefore_o if_o david_n be_v as_o willing_a to_o accept_v of_o his_o offer_n in_o kindness_n
of_o he_o or_o any_o thing_n belong_v to_o he_o but_o with_o desire_n of_o his_o good_a every_o way_n to_o covet_v signify_v to_o have_v a_o motion_n of_o the_o heart_n without_o consent_n of_o will_n from_o this_o than_o that_o god_n forbid_v covet_v we_o learn_v that_o the_o first_o motion_n and_o inclination_n of_o the_o heart_n to_o any_o sin_n though_o a_o man_n never_o yield_v to_o it_o or_o plot_n and_o cast_v about_o how_o to_o bring_v it_o to_o pass_v be_v a_o sin_n and_o the_o reason_n be_v plain_a first_o because_o god_n have_v forbid_v it_o as_o in_o rom_n 7._o paul_n say_v he_o have_v not_o know_v lust_n to_o be_v a_o sin_n but_o that_o the_o law_n say_v thou_o shall_v not_o lust_n he_o know_v and_o many_o heathen_a man_n that_o never_o hear_v of_o god_n law_n do_v confess_v that_o the_o inward_a thought_n join_v with_o consent_n and_o full_a purpose_n to_o do_v they_o if_o occasion_n serve_v be_v sin_n but_o for_o those_o that_o do_v but_o as_o it_o be_v pass_v through_o be_v fault_n &_o provoke_v god_n wrath_n but_o that_o by_o the_o law_n he_o know_v god_n have_v say_v and_o then_o he_o believe_v it_o second_o if_o one_o examine_v these_o by_o that_o general_a rule_n do_v as_o you_o will_v be_v do_v by_o he_o shall_v see_v that_o they_o agree_v not_o with_o it_o for_o no_o man_n will_v be_v willing_a to_o have_v a_o other_o man_n conceive_v the_o least_o fly_a conceit_n or_o thought_n that_o may_v hurt_v he_o though_o he_o never_o go_v about_o to_o put_v in_o practice_n &_o therefore_o also_o must_v be_v drive_v to_o confess_v that_o it_o be_v a_o sin_n in_o he_o to_o have_v such_o thought_n towards_o a_o other_o 3_o if_o we_o consider_v the_o cause_n it_o will_v appear_v what_o they_o be_v they_o be_v fruit_n of_o original_a sin_n and_o proceed_v from_o natural_a corruption_n now_o who_o can_v draw_v a_o clean_a thing_n out_o of_o a_o unclean_a thing_n who_o can_v pull_v good_a fruit_n out_o of_o a_o bad_a tree_n be_v then_o effect_n of_o our_o natural_a pollution_n that_o we_o receive_v from_o adam_n for_o if_o we_o have_v continue_v in_o innocence_n we_o shall_v have_v be_v perfect_a without_o any_o such_o motion_n of_o the_o inward_a heart_n they_o be_v naught_o for_o what_o ever_o come_v from_o sin_n be_v sin_n last_o if_o the_o effect_n be_v mark_v they_o shall_v appear_v to_o be_v evil_a now_o saint_n james._n 1._o 14._o set_n down_o the_o effect_n of_o these_o evil_a thought_n &_o motion_n every_o man_n say_v he_o be_v tempt_v when_o he_o be_v draw_v away_o by_o his_o own_o concupiscence_n and_o be_v entice_v this_o saint_n james_n show_v that_o let_v one_o make_v as_o little_a account_n of_o these_o thought_n as_o he_o please_v and_o count_v they_o small_a mattter_n yet_o the_o work_n that_o they_o do_v be_v not_o small_a for_o they_o draw_v on_o a_o side_n from_o behold_v god_n they_o turn_v the_o heart_n from_o consider_v god_n to_o mark_v those_o thing_n that_o he_o shall_v not_o &_o then_o when_o he_o be_v pull_v from_o look_v unto_o god_n he_o fall_v to_o according_a and_o practise_v and_o then_o sin_n bring_v death_n so_o that_o these_o be_v like_o a_o little_a spark_n of_o fire_n light_v upon_o tinder_n or_o toe_n &_o such_o like_a that_o if_o they_o be_v not_o quick_o quench_v will_v grow_v to_o a_o great_a flame_n so_o the_o danger_n be_v great_a that_o come_v from_o every_o one_o of_o these_o that_o we_o so_o little_a regard_n for_o there_o be_v not_o the_o least_o but_o it_o harden_v the_o hart_n and_o withdraw_v it_o from_o god_n and_o make_v it_o more_o unfit_a to_o pray_v or_o hear_v or_o do_v any_o thing_n that_o be_v good_a but_o more_o easy_o to_o be_v draw_v to_o any_o sin_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v not_o slight_o to_o be_v pass_v over_o so_o that_o because_o they_o break_v god_n commandment_n &_o be_v against_o the_o law_n of_o charity_n and_o cane_n from_o a_o evil_a cause_n &_o bring_v with_o they_o such_o evil_a effect_n therefore_o the_o least_o imagination_n arise_v in_o the_o heart_n without_o any_o agree_n of_o the_o mind_n to_o put_v it_o in_o practice_n be_v sin_n and_o deserve_v death_n the_o use_n that_o we_o shall_v make_v of_o this_o it_o be_v never_o so_o little_o stir_v send_v forth_o many_o spark_n on_o every_o side_n therefore_o we_o must_v learn_v in_o this_o regard_n to_o deny_v ourselves_o &_o to_o fall_v down_o before_o god_n beseech_v he_o to_o heal_v our_o nature_n &_o to_o wash_v and_o cleanse_v it_o more_o &_o more_o by_o his_o holy_a spirit_n than_o one_o have_v make_v one_o good_a use_n of_o the_o law_n when_o
