as_o many_o christian_n do_v imagine_v for_o indeed_o they_o be_v but_o for_o christian_n who_o do_v here_o attain_v to_o a_o clear_a evidence_n and_o full_a assurance_n of_o their_o salvation_n such_o who_o the_o lord_n here_o call_v forth_o to_o hard_a service_n or_o great_a suffering_n to_o they_o he_o be_v please_v many_o time_n to_o give_v some_o clear_a evidence_n and_o assurance_n of_o their_o eternal_a life_n and_o salvation_n for_o their_o better_a comfort_n and_o support_v thus_o many_o martyr_n have_v express_v their_o full_a assurance_n of_o a_o better_a life_n after_o this_o whereas_o such_o a_o measure_n be_v not_o usual_o grant_v to_o ordinary_a christian_n their_o trial_n be_v but_o fleabites_a in_o comparison_n of_o the_o other_o vi_o then_o especial_o act_v the_o grace_n of_o god_n spirit_n in_o thou_o as_o 1_o thy_o fall'th_n which_o be_v a_o grace_n of_o special_a use_n to_o thou_o so_o long_o as_o thou_o live_v in_o this_o world_n but_o most_o of_o all_o at_o thy_o last_o sickness_n and_o in_o the_o time_n of_o death_n therefore_o then_o especial_o be_v often_o actuate_a and_o exercise_v thy_o faith_n in_o jesus_n christ_n with_o the_o eye_n of_o faith_n look_v upon_o christ_n hang_v upon_o the_o cross_n there_o offer_v up_o his_o life_n as_o a_o all-sufficient_a sacrifice_n and_o full_a satisfaction_n to_o god_n justice_n for_o thy_o sin_n thou_o can_v before_o supper_n for_o by_o experience_n we_o find_v that_o our_o body_n be_v much_o more_o drowsy_a and_o our_o spirit_n much_o more_o dead_a and_o heavy_a after_o supper_n than_o before_o q._n whether_o a_o man_n find_v his_o body_n drowsy_a and_o his_o spirit_n dead_a and_o heavy_a have_v better_o fall_v upon_o the_o duty_n of_o prayer_n or_o forbear_v it_o for_o that_o time_n ans._n drowsiness_n of_o body_n and_o deadness_n of_o heart_n be_v no_o sufficient_a warrant_n for_o the_o omission_n of_o thy_o evening_n sacrifice_n of_o prayer_n but_o thou_o ought_v to_o perform_v it_o notwithstanding_o as_o well_o as_o thou_o can_v and_o that_o for_o these_o reason_n 1_o because_o the_o scripture_n give_v we_o no_o warrant_n for_o the_o omission_n of_o a_o bind_a duty_n because_o of_o some_o present_a drowsiness_n and_o indisposition_n thereunto_o but_o do_v rather_o express_o hold_v forth_o the_o contrary_a enjoin_v christian_n to_o pray_v always_o 36_o and_o godly_a sorrow_n for_o sin_n past_a and_o a_o full_a purpose_n and_o resolution_n of_o heart_n to_o leave_v and_o forsake_v they_o for_o the_o time_n to_o come_v and_o to_o walk_v more_o close_o with_o god_n while_o you_o be_v at_o the_o sacrament_n you_o shall_v exercise_v your_o repentance_n in_o both_o these_o particular_n 1_o you_o shall_v labour_v to_o be_v affect_v with_o a_o true_a grief_n and_o sorrow_n foâ—_n your_o sin_n to_o that_o end_n serious_o meditate_v of_o the_o manifold_a suffering_n of_o christ_n for_o certain_o a_o due_a and_o serious_a meditation_n of_o what_o christ_n have_v suffer_v for_o our_o sin_n can_v but_o affect_v our_o heart_n with_o some_o measure_n of_o grief_n and_o sorrow_n for_o the_o same_o for_o shall_v christ_n bleed_v for_o our_o sin_n and_o shall_v not_o we_o weep_v for_o they_o be_v christ_n break_v with_o torment_n for_o our_o sin_n and_o shall_v not_o the_o consideration_n thereof_o break_v our_o heart_n for_o they_o 2_o you_o must_v engage_v yourselves_o by_o a_o solemn_a vow_n and_o promise_n unto_o god_n to_o be_v more_o watchful_a over_o yourselves_o against_o sin_n for_o the_o time_n to_o come_v and_o to_o walk_v more_o close_o and_o exact_o with_o god_n as_o often_o as_o you_o partake_v of_o the_o lord_n supper_n so_o often_o god_n renew_v the_o covenant_n on_o his_o part_n he_o engage_v himself_o afresh_o to_o be_v your_o god_n to_o pardon_v your_o sin_n to_o subdue_v your_o corruption_n to_o write_v his_o law_n in_o your_o heart_n that_o be_v to_o work_v in_o you_o as_o a_o desire_n and_o disposition_n to_o the_o keep_n of_o his_o law_n and_o commandment_n so_o a_o sincere_a endeavour_n after_o the_o same_o and_o therefore_o it_o be_v your_o duty_n to_o renew_v the_o covenant_n on_o your_o part_n to_o engage_v yourselves_o afresh_o in_o the_o strength_n of_o christ_n to_o walk_v as_o a_o people_n in_o covenant_n with_o god_n to_o be_v more_o watchful_a over_o yourselves_o against_o sin_n for_o the_o time_n to_o come_v to_o be_v more_o his_o faithful_a servant_n than_o ever_o you_o be_v before_o have_v show_v both_o the_o duty_n antecedent_n and_o concomitant_a come_v we_o now_o to_o the_o duty_n subsequent_a such_o as_o must_v follow_v after_o the_o action_n of_o receive_v for_o it_o be_v not_o enough_o that_o you_o due_o prepare_v yourselves_o to_o that_o ordinance_n and_o reverent_o carry_v yourselves_o at_o it_o but_o you_o must_v likewise_o walk_v in_o some_o
