wicked_a world_n though_o noah_n job_n and_o daniel_n and_o all_o the_o great_a worthy_n shall_v stand_v before_o he_o for_o this_o world_n yet_o his_o heart_n can_v not_o be_v to_o this_o world_n because_o of_o the_o abundance_n of_o wickedness_n that_o be_v in_o it_o separate_a from_o it_o the_o consideration_n of_o in_o comparison_n the_o few_o servant_n of_o god_n in_o it_o and_o oh_o the_o many_o godly_a child_n and_o godly_a friend_n one_o with_o another_o and_o yet_o for_o all_o that_o god_n heart_n can_v not_o be_v to_o that_o old_a world_n but_o he_o must_v needs_o destroy_v it_o this_o world_n or_o for_o all_o that_o wherein_o i_o walk_v with_o god_n myself_o or_o wherein_o i_o have_v any_o or_o know_v any_o that_o walk_v with_o he_o after_o all_o this_o after_o all_o the_o good_a that_o you_o can_v find_v or_o hope_v you_o can_v find_v in_o the_o world_n yet_o there_o be_v such_o a_o abundance_n of_o wicked_a in_o it_o that_o because_o of_o this_o his_o zeal_n rise_v wicked_a conversation_n a_o good_a man_n can_v be_v satisfy_v but_o he_o must_v desire_v the_o come_v of_o the_o bridegroom_n consider_v that_o example_n we_o have_v in_o 2_o pet._n 2._o 7._o god_n deliver_v just_a lot_n as_o the_o critic_n observe_v he_o be_v torment_v after_o the_o manner_n of_o the_o torment_n of_o hell_n vex_v with_o the_o filthy_a conversation_n of_o the_o wicked_a for_o can_v overcome_v and_o salve_v ourselves_o of_o this_o reason_n of_o desire_v the_o bridegroom_n come_v and_o may_v say_v notwithstanding_o this_o that_o we_o and_o our_o house_n serve_v god_n and_o that_o our_o conversation_n be_v as_o become_v the_o gospel_n and_o that_o we_o desire_v to_o converse_v with_o saint_n and_o that_o we_o have_v a_o heavenly_a society_n upon_o earrh_n i_o say_v suppose_v this_o can_v be_v say_v where_o there_o be_v not_o a_o high_a sense_n of_o the_o bridegroom_n be_v come_v yet_o david_n say_v horror_n have_v take_v hold_n upon_o i_o because_o they_o keep_v not_o thy_o law_n it_o be_v time_n for_o the_o lord_n to_o mork_v i_o wonder_v thou_o stay_v so_o long_o for_o they_o have_v make_v void_a thy_o law_n and_o river_n of_o tear_n run_v down_o my_o eye_n because_o they_o keep_v not_o thy_o law_n all_o this_o i_o say_v plain_o prove_v that_o if_o a_o man_n can_v salve_v the_o first_o consideration_n to_o himself_o yet_o he_o can_v bear_v out_o himself_o on_o this_o account_n o_o when_o any_o of_o we_o come_v to_o look_v serious_o into_o our_o own_o heart_n life_n and_o way_n can_v we_o say_v that_o we_o be_v what_o we_o desire_v to_o be_v and_o what_o we_o will_v be_v have_v we_o such_o a_o tenor_n of_o thought_n such_o a_o constant_a chain_n of_o holy_a and_o serious_a and_o wise_a thought_n do_v we_o keep_v our_o mouth_n with_o a_o bit_n and_o bridle_n while_o the_o wicked_a be_v before_o we_o do_v we_o take_v care_n to_o speak_v always_o so_o that_o our_o speech_n be_v season_v with_o salt_n and_o that_o it_o minister_v grace_n to_o the_o hearer_n be_v our_o heart_n so_o in_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o god_n and_o communion_n with_o he_o that_o we_o may_v say_v it_o be_v good_a for_o we_o to_o be_v here_o or_o do_v we_o meet_v in_o such_o ordinance_n public_o administer_v with_o such_o power_n and_o powerful_a preach_v gospel_n administration_n the_o lord_n supper_n keep_v and_o observe_v the_o lord_n day_n as_o we_o desire_v do_v we_o find_v that_o there_o be_v so_o much_o in_o these_o that_o we_o can_v ourselves_o say_v we_o have_v reason_n to_o rest_v here_o or_o to_o continue_v in_o this_o state_n or_o do_v we_o not_o find_v a_o continual_a complaint_n like_o that_o of_o paul_n rom._n 7._o the_o good_a that_o i_o will_v i_o do_v not_o but_o the_o evil_n which_o i_o will_v not_o that_o i_o do_v i_o find_v then_o a_o law_n that_o when_o i_o will_v do_v good_a evil_n be_v present_a with_o i_o and_o so_o in_o verse_n 24._o he_o come_v to_o cry_v out_o o_o wretched_a man_n that_o i_o be_o who_o shall_v very_o observable_a that_o the_o persian_a monarch_n above_o all_o other_o be_v great_o serviceable_a to_o the_o temple_n of_o god_n the_o type_n of_o the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n and_o so_o god_n choose_v i_o be_o persuade_v i_o will_v not_o engage_v far_o in_o it_o this_o great_a feast_n of_o ahasuerus_n with_o such_o a_o care_n of_o sobriety_n and_o it_o be_v give_v to_o represent_v the_o that_o point_n to_o you_o how_o far_o we_o may_v look_v upon_o these_o as_o sign_n of_o the_o near_o come_v of_o the_o bridegroom_n and_o then_o i_o shall_v close_v up_o the_o whole_a in_o the_o therefore_o it_o seem_v very_o strange_a that_o such_o a_o evil_a state_n of_o the_o world_n shall_v continue_v beyond_o the_o death_n and_o resurrection_n of_o jesus_n christ_n see_v there_o be_v such_o a_o infinite_a grace_n of_o god_n in_o a_o mediator_n and_o that_o he_o please_v to_o give_v his_o own_o son_n to_o lose_a man_n that_o whoever_o believe_v in_o he_o shall_v not_o perish_v bat_n have_v eternal_a life_n it_o be_v no_o wonder_n we_o may_v be_v ready_a true_o to_o say_v that_o the_o world_n continue_v till_o christ_n come_v till_o he_o die_v and_o rose_n again_o and_o till_o there_o be_v a_o universal_a preach_v of_o the_o gospel_n in_o his_o name_n but_o why_o shall_v it_o last_v any_o long_o so_o great_a a_o thing_n be_v do_v then_o in_o the_o world_n that_o there_o can_v be_v no_o expectation_n of_o such_o another_o and_o therefore_o sure_a there_o be_v nothing_o now_o to_o do_v but_o for_o christ_n to_o have_v a_o kingdom_n as_o great_a and_o as_o large_a and_o as_o glorious_a as_o the_o scripture_n assure_v he_o shall_v have_v for_o as_o i_o have_v note_v to_o you_o and_o i_o desire_v that_o you_o will_v bear_v as_o i_o have_v say_v before_o that_o scripture_n in_o your_o mind_n gal._n 4._o 4._o when_o the_o fullness_n of_o time_n be_v come_v god_n send_v forth_o his_o son_n it_o be_v no_o wonder_n that_o time_n shall_v last_v till_o they_o that_o be_v under_o the_o law_n that_o we_o may_v receive_v the_o adoption_n of_o child_n and_o god_n have_v send_v forth_o the_o spirit_n of_o his_o son_n to_o all_o those_o that_o be_v his_o child_n to_o cry_v abba_n father_n these_o be_v so_o great_a thing_n that_o till_o this_o fullness_n indeed_o it_o be_v no_o wonder_n at_o all_o that_o god_n bear_v up_o the_o world_n because_o he_o have_v such_o a_o great_a discovery_n of_o his_o love_n and_o of_o his_o grace_n to_o make_v and_o by_o which_o man_n have_v be_v save_v all_o along_o before_o even_o the_o father_n in_o the_o old_a testament_n and_o by_o which_o salvation_n be_v to_o be_v alone_o expect_v and_o receive_v it_o be_v no_o wonder_n therefore_o i_o say_v that_o god_n bear_v up_o the_o world_n to_o that_o fullness_n this_o nation_n that_o will_v not_o excuse_v any_o that_o be_v swallow_v up_o but_o they_o must_v expect_v such_o a_o midnight-cry_a to_o come_v upon_o they_o and_o this_o i_o desire_v you_o to_o take_v notice_n of_o that_o it_o may_v open_v to_o you_o and_o inform_v you_o of_o this_o midnight-cry_a whosoever_o therefore_o shall_v go_v down_o into_o the_o grave_a before_o the_o come_v of_o jesus_n christ_n you_o must_v lie_v down_o with_o this_o assurance_n this_o certainty_n that_o though_o you_o go_v never_o so_o quiet_a to_o the_o grave_a though_o you_o be_v conduct_v to_o those_o lodging_n and_o apartment_n of_o death_n with_o never_o so_o much_o order_n and_z with_o never_o so_o much_o silence_n yet_o there_o must_v be_v a_o midnight-cry_a to_o awake_v you_o out_o of_o those_o grave_n every_o one_o of_o we_o must_v be_v awaken_v by_o the_o midnight-cry_a and_o all_o that_o have_v go_v before_o we_o must_v awake_v by_o this_o midnight-cry_a arise_v every_o one_o and_o go_v forth_o to_o meet_v the_o bridegroom_n now_o this_o be_v the_o point_n therefore_o that_o i_o shall_v endeavour_v to_o open_a to_o you_o concern_v the_o case_n and_o condition_n that_o person_n shall_v be_v in_o when_o they_o be_v awaken_v thus_o of_o a_o sudden_a for_o i_o tell_v you_o those_o slumbring_n express_v the_o drowsy_a state_n of_o christianity_n that_o be_v even_o now_o but_o this_o sleep_a proper_o express_v death_n and_o the_o midnight-cry_a that_o awaken_v out_o of_o that_o sleep_n it_o be_v that_o trump_n of_o god_n and_o that_o shout_n and_o voice_n of_o the_o of_o this_o present_a world_n a_o believer_n in_o jesus_n christ_n a_o true_o repent_v person_n a_o sanctify_a and_o justify_v person_n as_o such_o they_o shall_v rise_v at_o that_o cry_n and_o they_o that_o have_v go_v out_o in_o their_o sin_n in_o their_o lust_n in_o their_o impurity_n in_o their_o false_a profession_n of_o christianity_n in_o that_o very_o same_o condition_n they_o must_v rise_v again_o the_o virgin_n that_o be_v wise_a they_o rise_v wise_a virgin_n at_o the_o midnight_n cry_n and_o the_o virgin_n that_o be_v foolish_a they_o be_v not_o mend_v by_o all_o that_o time_n that_o they_o have_v spend_v either_o their_o body_n in_o the_o grave_a or_o their_o spirit_n in_o what_o state_n soever_o but_o they_o rise_v foolish_a virgin_n for_o so_o you_o see_v here_o ver_fw-la 8._o the_o virgin_n all_o arise_v and_o trim_v their_o lamp_n and_o the_o foolish_a say_v the_o foolish_a be_v foolish_a still_o and_o they_o say_v unto_o the_o wise_a for_o the_o wise_a be_v wise_a
