for_o christ_n etc._n etc._n some_o clap_v hand_n upon_o the_o book_n say_v this_o book_n be_v the_o word_n of_o god_n the_o gospel_n you_o must_v have_v eternal_a life_n here_o such_o life-less_a preacher_n we_o have_v often_o meet_v withal_o though_o it_o be_v not_o my_o place_n literal_o to_o excuse_v these_o expression_n as_o lay_v down_o before_o yet_o i_o can_v take_v this_o instance_n for_o any_o real_a proof_n or_o clear_a evidence_n of_o matter_n of_o fact_n as_o charge_v viz._n that_o the_o quaker_n say_v the_o holy_a scripture_n be_v carnal_a dust_n death_n etc._n etc._n as_o he_o charge_v we_o yet_o if_o f._n b._n can_v fair_o prove_v that_o any_o of_o we_o have_v express_o say_v or_o say_v that_o the_o gospel-doctrine_n contain_v in_o the_o four_o book_n of_o matthew_n mark_n luke_n and_o john_n be_v dust_n or_o but_o the_o letter_n that_o kill_v we_o do_v and_o shall_v positive_o disow_v it_o this_o i_o fair_o proffer_v he_o however_o the_o say_v author_n intention_n and_o meaning_n ought_v just_o and_o charitable_o to_o be_v consider_v and_o compare_v with_o some_o other_o passage_n in_o the_o say_a treatise_n which_o i_o take_v to_o be_v thus_o abstract_o consider_v as_o in_o paper_n and_o ink_n and_o false_a minister_n dead_a preach_v and_o comment_v thereupon_o without_o the_o spirit_n life_n or_o power_n of_o christ_n jesus_n like_v as_o the_o false_a prophet_n who_o though_o they_o steal_v the_o true_a prophet_n word_n yet_o their_o preach_a be_v compare_v but_o to_o the_o chaff_n or_o husk_n etc._n etc._n jer._n 23.28_o 30._o according_o the_o same_o treatise_n before_o quote_v the_o reflect_v on_o these_o hypocrite_n proud_a covetous_a and_o idolatrous_a priest_n who_o preach_v their_o own_o word_n imagination_n and_o conceiving_n paint_v themselves_o with_o the_o word_n of_o the_o prophet_n christ_n and_o his_o apostle_n and_o teach_v people_n they_o shall_v never_o overcome_v their_o sin_n in_o this_o life_n print_v transcribe_v or_o otherwise_o be_v it_o just_a to_o charge_v our_o principle_n or_o the_o author_n intention_n therewith_o the_o scripture_n themselves_o have_v not_o be_v whole_o free_a from_o vain_a carper_n and_o caviller_n our_o adversary_n when_o he_o have_v declare_v positive_o that_o he_o be_v not_o endue_v with_o that_o spirit_n the_o holy_a apostle_n bad_a and_o that_o his_o reason_n against_o we_o must_v needs_o be_v defective_a yet_o now_o we_o must_v take_v his_o meaning_n that_o he_o have_v it_o not_o by_o way_n of_o eminency_n as_o they_o have_v apol._n p._n 2._o yet_o pretend_v the_o assistance_n of_o god_n holy_a spirit_n p._n 46._o now_o let_v we_o but_o have_v the_o same_o liberty_n to_o construe_v our_o friend_n word_n as_o he_o take_v here_o for_o his_o own_o and_o we_o shall_v make_v they_o look_v far_o better_o than_o he_o do_v no_o doubt_n concern_v g._n f_n respect_n to_o the_o holy_a scripture_n i_o further_o add_v that_o it_o be_v well_o know_v it_o be_v his_o frequent_a and_o public_a testimony_n and_o in_o his_o book_n also_o that_o holy_a man_n of_o god_n give_v they_o forth_o from_o the_o holy_a spirit_n and_o that_o they_o speak_v and_o prophesy_v as_o they_o be_v move_v by_o the_o holy_a ghost_n and_o that_o the_o scripture_n be_v thus_o give_v forth_o to_o be_v read_v believe_v and_o fulfil_v to_o return_v though_o it_o be_v improper_a to_o say_v the_o four_o evangelist_n be_v but_o the_o letter_n because_o they_o be_v holy_a man_n who_o preach_v the_o gospel_n and_o their_o testimony_n and_o declaration_n contain_v evangelical_a and_o last_a truth_n as_o declare_v yet_o the_o four_o book_n as_o make_v up_o of_o paper_n and_o literal_a character_n will_v decay_v wear_v out_o and_o turn_v to_o dust_n as_o many_o good_a bibles_n have_v do_v as_o in_o my_o just_a enquiry_n be_v more_o full_o answer_v with_o due_a respect_n to_o the_o holy_a scripture_n to_o wit_n the_o holy_a doctrine_n and_o divine_a precept_n thereof_o and_o to_o the_o book_n also_o as_o f._n bugg_n also_o confess_v viz._n g._n w._n say_v though_o he_o do_v not_o ascribe_v holiness_n to_o the_o paper_n and_o ink_n or_o dead_a character_n no_o more_o do_v i_o nor_o do_v i_o know_v any_o body_n do_v but_o say_v george_n to_o the_o holy_a doctrine_n and_o bless_a precept_n therein_o contain_v which_o therefore_o be_v call_v holy_a
