be_v by_o a_o more_o secret_a and_o insensible_a act_n and_o the_o word_n appear_v most_o in_o maintain_v that_o oh_o faith_n the_o soul_n have_v it_o not_o be_v for_o such_o a_o word_n such_o a_o promise_n such_o a_o good_a word_n of_o god_n be_v a_o faithful_a say_n and_o worthy_a of_o all_o acceptation_n in_o the_o reflex_n act_n of_o faith_n which_o give_v the_o soul_n a_o plerophorous_a evidence_n or_o a_o full_a persuasion_n of_o its_o evidence_n in_o god_n the_o work_n of_o the_o spirit_n appear_v more_o extraordinary_a and_o glorious_a the_o virtue_n of_o the_o word_n do_v not_o so_o much_o show_v itself_o now_o the_o lord_n will_v sometime_o honour_v his_o word_n in_o the_o fight_n of_o his_o child_n let_v they_o see_v that_o it_o be_v enough_o to_o support_v bear_v up_o and_o to_o uphold_v a_o soul_n though_o it_o shall_v never_o see_v the_o face_n of_o god_n till_o it_o come_v in_o heaven_n yet_o the_o word_n be_v enough_o secure_o to_o carry_v it_o thither_o 4._o god_n in_o such_o a_o dispensation_n may_v have_v a_o design_n to_o teach_v his_o people_n that_o salvation_n do_v not_o depend_v upon_o sensible_a consolatory_a manifestation_n not_o upon_o the_o too_o prone_a to_o lay_v too_o much_o upon_o sensible_a comfort_n some_o there_o be_v who_o will_v acknowledge_v no_o other_o notion_n of_o faith_n but_o a_o full_a persuasion_n of_o the_o love_n of_o god_n and_o so_o indeed_o confound_v faith_n and_o sight_n which_o the_o apostle_n seem_v so_o wary_o to_o distinguish_v when_o he_o tell_v we_o we_o live_v by_o faith_n and_o not_o by_o fight_n and_o again_o that_o hope_v which_o be_v see_v be_v no_o hope_n and_o indeed_o cut_v the_o throat_n of_o many_o a_o poor_a christian_n comfort_n who_o it_o may_v be_v all_o his_o life_n can_v come_v to_o such_o a_o sensible_a evidence_n indeed_o the_o most_o judicious_a christian_n be_v prone_a to_o lay_v too_o much_o stress_n upon_o these_o consolatory_a manifestation_n and_o to_o think_v all_o nothing_o if_o they_o want_v they_o now_o this_o be_v a_o great_a error_n which_o the_o lord_n may_v aim_v at_o the_o correction_n of_o in_o his_o people_n by_o such_o dispensation_n let_v the_o soul_n see_v there_o be_v virtue_n enough_o in_o his_o word_n to_o bear_v it_o up_o through_o the_o deep_a water_n of_o affliction_n without_o the_o bladder_n of_o sensible_a manifestation_n enough_o in_o that_o and_o the_o soul_n application_n of_o itself_o to_o that_o though_o until_o it_o come_v in_o heaven_n it_o never_o see_v the_o face_n of_o god_n it_o be_v believe_v that_o carry_v the_o sense_n be_v the_o life_n of_o the_o saint_n triumphant_a the_o life_n of_o faith_n be_v the_o life_n of_o the_o militant_a christian_a though_o god_n sometime_o condescend_v in_o such_o manifestation_n to_o the_o infirmity_n and_o desire_n of_o his_o people_n and_o be_v please_v to_o give_v they_o a_o glimpse_n of_o glory_n as_o the_o earnest_a penny_n of_o a_o future_a great_a the_o burden_n of_o its_o infirmity_n but_o at_o last_o she_o be_v as_o to_o this_o also_o in_o some_o measure_n satisfy_v and_o now_o her_o adversary_n be_v enforce_v in_o a_o great_a measure_n to_o quit_v all_o his_o strong_a hold_n some_o of_o these_o temptation_n return_v but_o her_o judgement_n be_v establish_v her_o faith_n strengthen_v and_o she_o be_v never_o after_o keep_v long_o in_o the_o bitterness_n of_o death_n and_o pay_v a_o price_n for_o his_o saint_n perseverance_n in_o it_o so_o that_o never_o any_o hold_v out_o to_o the_o end_n who_o at_o last_o be_v leave_v and_o fail_v
