doctrine_n and_o instruction_n do_v persuade_v all_o people_n to_o believe_v and_o not_o seduce_v any_o from_o these_o truth_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o this_o be_v know_v through_o these_o kingdom_n concern_v we_o though_o we_o stand_v now_o accuse_v false_o concern_v these_o matter_n before_o the_o king_n but_o as_o for_o the_o scripture_n be_v the_o rule_n of_o life_n we_o say_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n that_o give_v forth_o the_o scripture_n be_v the_o rule_n of_o life_n &_o faith_n unto_o the_o saint_n and_o lead_v not_o contrary_a but_o according_a unto_o the_o scripture_n in_o the_o belief_n and_o practice_n of_o whatsoever_o the_o scripture_n say_v and_o if_o these_o petitioner_n do_v make_v the_o scripture_n the_o rule_n of_o their_o life_n and_o practice_n for_o the_o denial_n off_o ear_n and_o take_v their_o good_n by_o violence_n it_o be_v true_a by_o this_o mean_v the_o petitioner_n deal_v with_o the_o quaker_n and_o never_o by_o any_o christian_a like_o mean_n for_o the_o very_a first_o of_o our_o friend_n that_o ever_o come_v among_o they_o they_o make_v they_o prisoner_n ere_o they_o come_v on_o shore_n and_o inhumane_o deal_v with_o they_o and_o banish_v they_o and_o this_o be_v the_o first_o and_o fair_a mean_n that_o ever_o be_v use_v by_o they_o which_o be_v not_o gospel-mean_n nor_o the_o way_n by_o which_o the_o church_n of_o new-england_n ought_v to_o have_v proceed_v have_v our_o friend_n be_v in_o error_n and_o such_o as_o they_o say_v of_o they_o it_o have_v be_v their_o duty_n to_o have_v gain_v they_o by_o love_n by_o mercy_n and_o by_o long-suffering_a these_o be_v the_o weapon_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n which_o ought_v to_o be_v use_v towards_o they_o that_o be_v in_o error_n in_o order_n to_o the_o convert_n of_o envy_n that_o constrain_v they_o to_o pass_v sentence_n of_o death_n upon_o they_o and_o not_o the_o equity_n of_o either_o just_a law_n of_o god_n or_o man_n for_o they_o deserve_v not_o the_o merit_n of_o death_n such_o be_v the_o innocency_n of_o their_o cause_n and_o they_o be_v no_o more_o safe_a by_o the_o take_n away_o the_o life_n of_o our_o
guiltless_a brethren_n than_o they_o be_v before_o no_o more_o safe_a i_o say_v but_o more_o liable_a to_o the_o justice_n and_o terror_n of_o the_o almighty_a and_o to_o the_o justice_n of_o the_o dishonour_n to_o king_n charles_n the_o second_o 4._o but_o to_o extenuate_v their_o own_o fact_n of_o put_v to_o shameful_a death_n the_o innocent_a they_o charge_v their_o death_n to_o be_v a_o wilful_a rushing_n and_o their_o death_n be_v their_o own_o act_n and_o their_o blood_n be_v upon_o their_o own_o head_n concern_v which_o let_v it_o be_v consider_v they_o no_o more_o wilful_o rush_v upon_o their_o death_n neither_o be_v their_o blood_n on_o their_o own_o head_n more_o than_o the_o prophet_n and_o apostle_n that_o be_v slay_v for_o the_o testimony_n of_o jesus_n but_o these_o petitioner_n do_v plead_v these_o quaker_n so_o call_v know_v there_o be_v a_o law_n proclaim_v against_o they_o sentence_n of_o banishment_n upon_o pain_n of_o death_n but_o they_o will_v not_o towards_o god_n than_o to_o disobey_v he_o to_o keep_v the_o commandment_n of_o man_n and_o this_o be_v the_o apostle_n case_n when_o they_o be_v command_v to_o preach_v no_o more_o in_o the_o name_n of_o jesus_n do_v they_o at_o all_o obey_v it_o for_o fear_n of_o man_n and_o when_o the_o three_o child_n be_v command_v to_o bow_v to_o the_o image_n do_v they_o do_v it_o for_o fear_n of_o man_n or_o if_o they_o have_v die_v for_o their_o disobedience_n of_o the_o king_n commandment_n can_v it_o have_v be_v say_v that_o their_o blood_n be_v upon_o their_o own_o head_n and_o that_o they_o rush_v themselves_o upon_o it_o and_o this_o be_v in_o part_n the_o like_a case_n that_o our_o friend_n suffer_v under_o the_o injustice_n of_o these_o petitioner_n who_o will_v now_o cover_v themselves_o like_o man_n of_o guilty_a conscience_n but_o the_o god_n of_o heaven_n will_v let_v they_o know_v one_o day_n and_o the_o king_n may_v just_o do_v it_o that_o the_o blood_n of_o our_o brethren_n lie_v upon_o the_o head_n of_o the_o magistrate_n of_o new-england_n and_o they_o be_v guilty_a of_o their_o cruel_a death_n for_o they_o put_v they_o to_o death_n not_o for_o any_o evil_n do_v between_o man_n and_o man_n but_o for_o their_o obedience_n to_o god_n and_o for_o good_a conscience_n sake_n towards_o he_o again_o the_o petitioner_n say_v the_o quaker_n die_v not_o because_o as_o fanatic_n and_o the_o martyrer_n justify_v as_o righteous_a in_o what_o they_o do_v and_o these_o thing_n publish_v and_o proclaim_v up_o and_o down_o london_n these_o thing_n i_o can_v but_o observe_v as_o full_a occasion_n be_v give_v i_o by_o semper_fw-la jidem_fw-la how_o that_o the_o papist_n cause_n seem_v to_o revive_v and_o to_o lift_v up_o its_o head_n again_o in_o england_n in_o
