christ_n as_o a_o perfect_a unparalleled_a pattern_n of_o all_o holiness_n virtue_n and_o goodness_n that_o which_o follow_v be_v that_o we_o apply_v the_o light_n of_o this_o illustrious_a example_n for_o our_o instruction_n in_o the_o absolute_a necessity_n genuine_a nature_n due_a extent_n and_o admirable_a excellency_n of_o true_a holiness_n and_o the_o christian_a life_n chap._n iu._n the_o particular_a instruction_n we_o reap_v from_o the_o life_n of_o christ_n the_o life_n of_o jesus_n consider_v as_o sect._n 1_o our_o example_n do_v full_o inform_v and_o persuade_v we_o first_o of_o in_o the_o world_n by_o his_o doctrine_n and_o example_n by_o his_o life_n and_o death_n by_o all_o that_o he_o say_v and_o do_v to_o minister_v instruction_n and_o help_n thereunto_o and_o to_o bind_v it_o upon_o we_o with_o such_o sacred_a obligation_n and_o fast_o tie_v as_o be_v not_o easy_o to_o be_v break_v it_o be_v true_a that_o holiness_n in_o general_n that_o piety_n justice_n charity_n sobriety_n in_o particular_a do_v attract_v we_o with_o their_o native_a beauty_n and_o proper_a lustre_n we_o can_v but_o discern_v the_o necessity_n of_o these_o virtue_n to_o the_o perfection_n of_o our_o nature_n to_o the_o attainment_n of_o peace_n and_o happiness_n to_o the_o good_a and_o welfare_n of_o society_n and_o to_o the_o render_v we_o capable_a of_o enjoy_v god._n but_o because_o the_o voice_n of_o reason_n be_v too_o faint_a and_o low_a and_o its_o representation_n too_o languid_a and_o feeble_a to_o be_v much_o regard_v in_o the_o crowd_n and_o noise_n of_o impetuous_a lust_n and_o passion_n and_o authority_n example_n and_o custom_n false_a notion_n and_o prejudices_fw-la and_o levity_n of_o mind_n oppose_v themselves_o strong_o to_o the_o dictate_v of_o conscience_n and_o endeavour_v to_o hide_v the_o shame_n and_o abate_v the_o folly_n and_o absurdity_n of_o vice_n behold_v therefore_o god_n have_v speak_v from_o heaven_n to_o awaken_v our_o drowsy_a faculty_n and_o send_v his_o son_n to_o show_v we_o the_o only_a way_n thither_o we_o may_v now_o be_v infinite_o certain_a that_o there_o be_v no_o enter_v into_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n by_o any_o other_o path_n than_o that_o which_o jesus_n walk_v in_o that_o we_o can_v become_v the_o child_n of_o his_o love_n no_o other_o way_n than_o by_o be_v conform_v to_o the_o image_n of_o shall_v this_o consideration_n beget_v in_o we_o that_o it_o be_v the_o best_a thing_n we_o be_v capable_a of_o the_o sum_n of_o all_o god_n merciful_a and_o kind_a intention_n towards_o we_o that_o best_a of_o gift_n which_o the_o charitable_a jesus_n by_o his_o incarnation_n life_n death_n resurrection_n ascension_n by_o all_o that_o he_o have_v do_v or_o shall_v do_v for_o we_o to_o the_o end_n of_o time_n do_v aim_n to_o bestow_v upon_o we_o to_o endow_v we_o withal_o what_o a_o foolish_a and_o wretched_a judgement_n do_v we_o then_o make_v if_o in_o opposition_n to_o the_o wisdom_n and_o goodness_n of_o god_n we_o prefer_v lust_n and_o folly_n and_o sensual_a delight_n what_o divine_a light_n and_o grace_n do_v we_o resist_v and_o despise_v if_o we_o still_o abide_v in_o darkness_n continue_v in_o sin_n and_o how_o foolish_a false_a and_o insignificant_a be_v all_o our_o pretence_n to_o be_v christian_n whilst_o we_o be_v lead_v by_o another_o spirit_n than_o that_o of_o christ_n and_o follow_v any_o example_n soon_o than_o his_o for_o this_o be_v to_o reflect_v upon_o the_o wisdom_n of_o god_n and_o to_o despise_v his_o grace_n to_o reject_v his_o counsel_n for_o our_o salvation_n and_o to_o judge_v ourselves_o unworthy_a of_o eternal_a life_n second_o from_o the_o life_n of_o christ_n sect._n 2_o consider_v as_o our_o copy_n and_o pattern_n we_o be_v infallible_o inform_v wherein_o pure_a and_o undefiled_a religion_n do_v consist_v or_o what_o be_v the_o thing_n undoubted_o please_v unto_o god._n the_o life_n of_o christ_n be_v design_v to_o be_v a_o perfect_a and_o unerring_a example_n such_o as_o the_o world_n need_v but_o never_o have_v before_o nor_o shall_v receive_v again_o there_o can_v therefore_o be_v no_o height_n nor_o degree_n of_o
