envy_n that_o constrain_v they_o to_o pass_v sentence_n of_o death_n upon_o they_o and_o not_o the_o equity_n of_o either_o just_a law_n of_o god_n or_o man_n for_o they_o deserve_v not_o the_o merit_n of_o death_n such_o be_v the_o innocency_n of_o their_o cause_n and_o they_o be_v no_o more_o safe_a by_o the_o take_n away_o the_o life_n of_o our_o
guiltless_a brethren_n than_o they_o be_v before_o no_o more_o safe_a i_o say_v but_o more_o liable_a to_o the_o justice_n and_o terror_n of_o the_o almighty_a and_o to_o the_o justice_n of_o the_o they_o as_o if_o they_o have_v no_o intention_n to_o hurt_v they_o and_o this_o the_o magistrate_n do_v both_o in_o conscience_n to_o god_n and_o man_n i_o say_v it_o be_v to_o be_v consider_v what_o occasion_n be_v give_v they_o to_o stand_v in_o the_o passage_n with_o the_o point_n of_o the_o sword_n towards_o this_o people_n be_v it_o for_o any_o cause_n on_o their_o part_n but_o as_o upon_o their_o death_n neither_o be_v their_o blood_n on_o their_o own_o head_n more_o than_o the_o prophet_n and_o apostle_n that_o be_v slay_v for_o the_o testimony_n of_o jesus_n but_o these_o petitioner_n do_v plead_v these_o quaker_n so_o call_v know_v there_o be_v a_o law_n proclaim_v against_o they_o sentence_n of_o banishment_n upon_o pain_n of_o death_n but_o they_o will_v not_o to_o be_v obey_v rather_o than_o man_n and_o it_o be_v full_o believe_v by_o we_o that_o these_o sufferer_n do_v not_o go_v into_o new-england_n in_o their_o own_o cause_n but_o in_o god_n cause_n and_o in_o the_o motion_n of_o his_o holy_a spirit_n and_o in_o good_a conscience_n towards_o god_n they_o do_v rather_o suffer_v the_o loss_n of_o their_o own_o life_n for_o their_o obedience_n towards_o god_n than_o to_o disobey_v he_o to_o keep_v the_o commandment_n of_o man_n and_o this_o be_v the_o apostle_n case_n when_o they_o be_v command_v to_o preach_v no_o more_o in_o the_o name_n of_o jesus_n do_v they_o at_o all_o obey_v it_o for_o fear_n of_o man_n and_o when_o the_o three_o child_n be_v command_v to_o bow_v to_o the_o image_n do_v they_o do_v it_o for_o fear_n of_o man_n or_o if_o they_o have_v die_v for_o their_o disobedience_n of_o the_o king_n commandment_n can_v it_o have_v be_v say_v that_o their_o blood_n be_v upon_o their_o own_o head_n and_o that_o they_o rush_v themselves_o upon_o it_o and_o this_o be_v in_o part_n the_o like_a case_n that_o our_o friend_n suffer_v under_o the_o injustice_n of_o these_o petitioner_n who_o will_v now_o cover_v themselves_o like_o man_n of_o guilty_a conscience_n but_o the_o god_n of_o heaven_n will_v let_v they_o know_v one_o day_n and_o the_o king_n may_v just_o do_v it_o that_o the_o blood_n of_o our_o brethren_n lie_v upon_o the_o head_n of_o the_o magistrate_n of_o new-england_n and_o they_o be_v guilty_a of_o their_o cruel_a death_n for_o they_o put_v they_o to_o death_n not_o for_o any_o evil_n do_v between_o man_n and_o man_n but_o for_o their_o obedience_n to_o god_n and_o for_o good_a conscience_n sake_n towards_o he_o again_o the_o petitioner_n say_v the_o quaker_n die_v not_o because_o of_o their_o other_o crime_n how_o capital_a soever_o but_o upon_o their_o superadd_v presumption_n and_o incorrigible_a contempt_n of_o authority_n break_v in_o upon_o we_o notwithstanding_o the_o guilty_a of_o here_o be_v a_o secret_a charge_n of_o crime_n without_o nomination_n and_o this_o be_v the_o part_n of_o slanderer_n to_o accuse_v in_o general_a without_o particular_a proof_n but_o this_o be_v still_o to_o extenuate_v their_o own_o horrid_a fact_n of_o put_v the_o innocent_a to_o death_n and_o that_o the_o king_n may_v believe_v better_o of_o they_o than_o indeed_o he_o have_v cause_n and_o the_o superadd_v presumption_n and_o incorrigible_a contempt_n of_o authority_n what_o be_v it_o any_o more_o than_o that_o unjust_o and_o without_o reason_n they_o command_v they_o to_o depart_v or_o if_o they_o do_v not_o they_o shall_v be_v put_v to_o death_n whenas_o no_o reason_n can_v possible_o be_v render_v for_o such_o law_n &_o commandment_n but_o because_o they_o be_v exercise_n of_o faith_n worship_n and_o religion_n to_o god-ward_n may_v be_v allow_v and_o maintain_v unto_o all_o without_o any_o imposition_n violence_n or_o persecution_n exercise_v about_o the_o same_o on_o the_o person_n estate_n or_o conscience_n of_o any_o in_o any_o relation_n to_o religion_n the_o worship_n of_o god_n church_n government_n and_o ministry_n but_o that_o all_o christian_a people_n may_v be_v leave_v free_a in_o all_o these_o kingdom_n in_o the_o exercise_n of_o conscience_n without_o be_v restrain_v from_o or_o compel_v to_o any_o way_n of_o worship_n and_o practice_v
