or_o lead_v man_n by_o his_o spirit_n and_o exercise_v their_o spirit_n for_o the_o trial_n of_o they_o whether_o they_o will_v follow_v he_o whithersoever_o he_o lead_v either_o into_o they_o or_o by_o such_o thing_n the_o heavenly_a warmth_n and_o refresh_v thereof_o have_v not_o so_o speedy_o nor_o full_o dart_v into_o man_n spirit_n to_o raise_v they_o up_o so_o powerful_o it_o may_v be_v and_o so_o quick_o into_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o that_o peace_n and_o joy_n that_o pass_v understanding_n but_o yet_o god_n have_v not_o leave_v himself_o without_o witness_n to_o bear_v testimony_n to_o the_o truth_n of_o the_o joyful_a tiding_n of_o salvation_n by_o faith_n in_o christ_n and_o he_o will_v raise_v up_o still_o more_o as_o the_o mystery_n of_o iniquity_n consume_v what_o think_v you_o of_o those_o that_o love_v not_o their_o life_n unto_o death_n war_a against_o the_o mystery_n of_o iniquity_n who_o expose_v their_o life_n and_o all_o they_o have_v to_o the_o fury_n and_o rage_n of_o man_n rather_o than_o ensnare_v their_o conscience_n with_o the_o vain_a tradition_n of_o man_n thus_o michael_n and_o his_o angel_n fight_v by_o suffer_v and_o the_o dragon_n and_o his_o angel_n by_o inflict_v therefore_o see_v the_o mystery_n of_o iniquity_n be_v to_o be_v overcome_v by_o such_o war_n as_o these_o christ_n jesus_n our_o lord_n and_o captain_n want_v not_o his_o valiant_a soldier_n to_o encounter_v with_o the_o dragon_n and_o his_o champion_n even_o under_o the_o apostasy_n into_o the_o mystery_n the_o dragon_n fight_n but_o prevail_v not_o against_o the_o lord_n host_n now_o do_v not_o think_v that_o its_o a_o small_a matter_n that_o make_v man_n so_o resolute_a and_o venturous_a thus_o to_o expose_v their_o life_n no_o it_o be_v for_o no_o less_o than_o a_o kingdom_n either_o already_o in_o possession_n of_o or_o in_o view_n to_o be_v attain_v but_o these_o thing_n be_v spiritual_a be_v not_o discern_v by_o the_o carnal_a eye_n and_o so_o the_o subject_n of_o christ_n kingdom_n whether_o they_o be_v in_o real_a possession_n of_o it_o or_o in_o earnest_a pursuit_n of_o it_o be_v little_o see_v by_o the_o world_n although_o many_o belong_v thereunto_o obj._n but_o one_o objection_n more_o may_v seem_v very_o material_a and_o weighty_a to_o many_o namely_o thus_o in_o this_o treatise_n of_o essential_a christianity_n why_o be_v there_o no_o mention_n make_v of_o baptism_n and_o the_o lord_n supper_n and_o of_o preach_v the_o word_n and_o prayer_n be_v not_o these_o essential_a thing_n in_o christianity_n and_o why_o be_v these_o leave_v out_o answ_n i_o answer_v i_o do_v not_o leave_v they_o out_o in_o opposition_n to_o they_o but_o because_o first_o they_o be_v not_o so_o inseparable_a to_o the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n as_o that_o there_o be_v no_o enjoyment_n thereof_o without_o these_o especial_o as_o they_o be_v under_o the_o apostasy_n administer_v second_o because_o these_o may_v all_o be_v profess_v and_o take_v up_o by_o person_n who_o be_v worker_n of_o iniquity_n and_o not_o own_v by_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n even_o by_o man_n who_o live_v in_o open_a wickedness_n and_o therefore_o be_v not_o admit_v into_o his_o kingdom_n because_o they_o be_v baptize_v or_o receive_v the_o supper_n or_o frequent_a public_a prayer_n or_o be_v preacher_n of_o the_o scripture_n paul_n speak_v the_o same_o thing_n to_o a_o baptise_a church_n who_o also_o have_v the_o supper_n of_o the_o lord_n in_o practice_n among_o they_o and_o who_o come_v behind_o in_o no_o gift_n yet_o notwithstanding_o all_o these_o thing_n he_o set_v this_o caution_n before_o their_o eye_n to_o ponder_v on_o know_v you_o not_o say_v he_o that_o the_o unrighteous_a shall_v not_o inherit_v the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n be_v not_o deceive_v neither_o fornicator_n nor_o idolater_n nor_o adulterer_n nor_o effeminate_a nor_o abuser_n of_o themselves_o with_o mankind_n nor_o thief_n nor_o covetous_a nor_o drunkard_n nor_o reviler_n nor_o extortioner_n shall_v inherit_v the_o kingdom_n of_o goâ—_n 1_o cor._n 6.9_o 10._o this_o he_o speak_v to_o such_o 〈◊〉_d do_v wrong_v and_o defraud_v their_o brethren_n lay_v before_o they_o the_o danger_n of_o suâ—â—_n course_n if_o they_o shall_v fall_v back_o again_o to_o suâ—â—_n thing_n and_o return_v with_o the_o dog_n to_o tâ—â—_n vomit_n and_o like_o the_o sow_n to_o she_o wallow_v in_o the_o mire_n hence_o it_o be_v that_o we_o be_v admonish_v to_o turn_v away_o from_o such_o as_o have_v 〈◊〉_d form_n of_o godliness_n as_o man_n that_o profess_v theâ—_n thing_n namely_o baptism_n the_o lord_n suppeâ—_n public_a prayer_n and_o preach_a may_v have_v but_o deny_v the_o power_n thereof_o simon_n magâ—_n be_v baptise_a and_o yet_o be_v in_o the_o gall_n 〈◊〉_d bitterness_n and_o bond_n of_o iniquity_n act._n 8_o â—_o one_o may_v eat_v and_o drink_v the_o lord_n suppeâ—_n without_o profit_n to_o themselves_o yea_o they_o mâ—_n eat_v and_o drink_v judgement_n to_o themselves_o and_o 〈◊〉_d guilty_a of_o the_o body_n and_o blood_n of_o the_o lorâ—_n 1_o cor._n 11._o and_o for_o prayer_n man_n maâ—_n make_v many_o prayer_n and_o long_a prayer_n and_o yet_o be_v no_o better_a than_o the_o pharisee_n or_o the_o jew_n of_o old_a who_o honour_v the_o lorâ—_n with_o their_o lip_n while_o as_o their_o heart_n waâ—_n far_o from_o he_o and_o christ_n himself_o have_v foretell_v that_o many_o shall_v plead_v for_o themselves_o thus_o lord_n lord_n have_v we_o not_o prophesy_v in_o thy_o name_n etc._n etc._n yet_o he_o will_v answer_v they_o i_o never_o know_v youâ—_n depart_v from_o i_o 〈◊〉_d that_o work_n iniquity_n now_o here_o be_v a_o form_n of_o godliness_n lie_v in_o these_o thing_n namely_o in_o be_v baptise_a and_o frequent_v prayer_n and_o preach_v and_o the_o lord_n supper_n but_o see_v one_o may_v live_v in_o these_o and_o yet_o be_v far_o from_o the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n therefore_o i_o have_v not_o place_v these_o thing_n among_o those_o that_o be_v essential_a to_o that_o life_n that_o enter_v the_o kingdom_n although_o these_o thing_n right_o use_v and_o at_o the_o lamb_n requiring_n
