conscience_n understanding_n and_o the_o will_n and_o fit_o frame_v and_o be_v so_o mark_v with_o the_o sprinkle_v of_o the_o blood_n the_o destroyer_n pass_v over_o and_o the_o sprinkle_n of_o the_o blood_n in_o this_o manner_n do_v bring_v we_o out_o of_o all_o danger_n of_o ghostly_a enemy_n so_o that_o our_o soul_n pass_v safe_o out_o of_o egypt_n from_o the_o bondage_n of_o pharaoh_n and_o the_o egyptian_n and_o over_o the_o red_a sea_n through_o the_o wilderness_n into_o the_o land_n of_o rest_n and_o this_o the_o apostle_n affirm_v where_o he_o say_v we_o be_v not_o come_v to_o shall_v live_v in_o the_o union_n of_o he_o and_o the_o father_n job_n 17.24_o and_o the_o truth_n of_o this_o promise_n they_o be_v all_o partaker_n of_o for_o have_v their_o understanding_n sprinkle_v mark_v cleanse_v or_o make_v pure_a by_o the_o blood_n of_o the_o lamb_n thereby_o they_o be_v make_v able_a to_o see_v and_o understand_v the_o truth_n as_o it_o be_v in_o jesus_n and_o by_o the_o clear_a vision_n of_o that_o light_n their_o conscience_n be_v purify_v by_o the_o same_o blood_n do_v bear_v witness_n to_o the_o truth_n of_o that_o light_n and_o their_o heart_n be_v of_o the_o second_o type_n institute_v by_o christ_n else_o i_o will_v have_v proceed_v further_o in_o lay_v open_a more_o in_o this_o particular_a therefore_o i_o give_v you_o but_o these_o short_a touch_n and_o glimpse_n that_o thereby_o you_o may_v somewhat_o grope_v after_o the_o great_a mystery_n herein_o contain_v so_o i_o will_v proceed_v and_o give_v you_o some_o glimpse_n of_o the_o all_o iniquity_n and_o this_o make_v jacob_n use_v these_o word_n to_o reuben_n unstable_a as_o water_n etc._n etc._n gen._n 49.4_o likewise_o water_n be_v but_o weak_a yet_o of_o a_o destroy_a nature_n when_o man_n be_v overhead_n in_o it_o for_o there_o be_v no_o hold_n to_o be_v take_v of_o it_o whereby_o man_n can_v save_v himself_o so_o be_v sin_n a_o weak_a deliverer_n when_o the_o soul_n be_v in_o the_o depth_n of_o it_o for_o there_o be_v no_o hold_n to_o be_v take_v by_o it_o whereby_o the_o soul_n can_v save_v itself_o but_o rather_o to_o be_v drown_v in_o the_o depth_n dispensation_n beforesaid_a they_o think_v themselves_o to_o have_v attain_v all_o that_o be_v necessary_a and_o that_o they_o need_v no_o more_o and_o so_o become_v to_o settle_v upon_o the_o lees_n soul_n by_o which_o the_o soul_n have_v comfort_n and_o content_n and_o refreshment_n and_o deliverance_n from_o its_o former_a trouble_n and_o now_o it_o find_v the_o effect_n of_o the_o propitiation_n of_o the_o son_n in_o cover_v and_o hide_v its_o sin_n and_o in_o justify_v the_o soul_n and_o take_v of_o the_o power_n of_o condemnation_n from_o it_o then_o do_v that_o soul_n conclude_v that_o all_o be_v do_v and_o can_v be_v please_v with_o that_o present_a condition_n suppose_v they_o have_v that_o which_o never_o will_v fail_v and_o say_v in_o their_o heart_n they_o shall_v not_o be_v remove_v because_o the_o lord_n of_o his_o goodness_n have_v make_v their_o mountain_n so_o strong_a psal_n 30._o and_o from_o these_o false_a conclusion_n many_o a_o soul_n become_v to_o lose_v itself_o and_o turn_v back_o again_o into_o the_o world_n and_o into_o the_o captivity_n of_o the_o creature_n from_o which_o it_o be_v deliver_v and_o so_o man_n foolish_o conclude_v that_o be_v in_o the_o land_n of_o canaan_n he_o shall_v see_v the_o bondage_n of_o egypt_n no_o more_o but_o while_o man_n be_v but_o in_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o the_o first_o manifestation_n of_o god_n in_o the_o first_o appearance_n of_o his_o son_n he_o be_v but_o a_o babe_n and_o but_o ignorant_a of_o what_o the_o mind_n of_o god_n be_v in_o that_o present_a condition_n and_o therefore_o they_o be_v very_o subject_a to_o be_v content_a with_o that_o present_a station_n because_o it_o please_v they_o so_o well_o suppose_v that_o there_o be_v none_o that_o have_v attain_v any_o further_a than_o what_o they_o have_v already_o attain_v too_o when_o as_o alas_o they_o know_v not_o as_o yet_o what_o it_o be_v to_o die_v with_o christ_n on_o the_o cross_n nor_o what_o the_o fellowship_n of_o his_o suffering_n be_v nor_o what_o the_o virtual_a power_n of_o his_o resurrection_n mean_v and_o so_o it_o be_v that_o from_o the_o idolize_v of_o that_o present_a enjoyment_n they_o in_o a_o very_a short_a time_n become_v to_o be_v cast_v out_o of_o that_o enjoyment_n and_o yet_o do_v they_o not_o know_v that_o they_o be_v so_o cast_v out_o because_o of_o the_o false_a fiend_n who_o have_v get_v again_o into_o the_o house_n from_o whence_o he_o be_v go_v out_o and_o counterfeit_v god_n through_o the_o help_n of_o the_o imagination_n and_o so_o make_v these_o soul_n believe_v that_o god_n be_v their_o present_a portion_n and_o that_o they_o have_v such_o a_o fast_o thank_v of_o he_o that_o nothing_o can_v be_v able_a to_o separate_v they_o when_o at_o that_o very_a instant_n of_o time_n the_o heart_n be_v in_o captivity_n with_o the_o creature_n i_o fear_v that_o this_o be_v the_o very_a condition_n of_o many_o now_o adays_o who_o have_v know_v god_n after_o this_o manner_n beforesaid_a and_o yet_o have_v forsake_v he_o again_o and_o turn_v to_o the_o creature_n and_o yet_o do_v but_o little_a know_v that_o they_o be_v so_o far_o carry_v away_o from_o god_n as_o they_o be_v but_o when_o god_n in_o his_o orderly_a proceed_n go_v on_o in_o bring_v the_o soul_n through_o all_o the_o danger_n and_o difficulty_n of_o the_o creature_n and_o self_n then_o do_v he_o not_o suffer_v the_o soul_n to_o have_v what_o it_o will_v have_v nor_o enjoy_v what_o it_o will_v enjoy_v in_o that_o first_o manifestation_n of_o himself_o in_o the_o name_n of_o his_o son_n but_o as_o the_o bodily_a presence_n of_o jesus_n be_v to_o be_v take_v away_o in_o his_o appear_v in_o the_o second_o dispensation_n in_o the_o flesh_n that_o so_o he_o may_v come_v again_o in_o the_o spirit_n or_o ghostly_a baptism_n by_o which_o they_o shall_v still_o be_v lead_v on_o till_o they_o be_v in_o the_o near_a and_o safe_a union_n of_o the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n that_o can_v be_v attain_v to_o in_o the_o body_n so_o it_o be_v that_o the_o ghostly_a presence_n in_o the_o first_o manifestation_n in_o the_o spirit_n must_v be_v take_v away_o that_o so_o the_o spirit_n may_v come_v to_o a_o further_o and_o more_o sure_a partake_n of_o the_o divine_a nature_n than_o it_o can_v in_o the_o first_o manifestation_n for_o as_o christ_n follower_n can_v have_v be_v please_v to_o have_v still_o enjoy_v the_o bodily_a presence_n of_o christ_n in_o the_o first_o appear_v in_o the_o flesh_n so_o will_v a_o soul_n be_v please_v with_o the_o first_o manifestation_n of_o god_n appear_v in_o the_o name_n of_o his_o son_n to_o the_o spirit_n but_o as_o christ_n bodily_a presence_n must_v be_v take_v away_o that_o thereby_o the_o life_n of_o self_n which_o live_v in_o the_o sense_n and_o reason_n of_o his_o disciple_n under_o that_o present_a enjoyment_n may_v become_v destroy_v and_o overthrow_v by_o the_o come_n again_o in_o the_o power_n of_o the_o spirit_n or_o ghostly_a baptism_n so_o it_o be_v that_o the_o first_o appearance_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n in_o the_o first_o appearance_n of_o the_o soul_n must_v be_v hide_v and_o take_v away_o because_o of_o so_o much_o life_n of_o self_n in_o the_o sense_n and_o reason_n and_o that_o by_o a_o further_a and_o more_o clear_a and_o safe_a way_n to_o manifest_v himself_o in_o the_o soul_n and_o that_o be_v by_o the_o pour_v out_o of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n into_o it_o by_o the_o virtue_n of_o which_o the_o soul_n become_v baptize_v into_o the_o suffering_n and_o death_n of_o christ_n whereby_o the_o life_n of_o sense_n and_o reason_n become_v to_o die_v and_o the_o spirit_n bring_v out_o of_o the_o claw_n of_o sin_n death_n devil_n and_o hell_n and_o the_o power_n of_o the_o resurrection_n of_o christ_n become_v to_o be_v know_v and_o the_o body_n of_o sin_n become_v to_o be_v destroy_v by_o the_o powerful_a work_n and_o burn_v of_o this_o ghostly_a baptism_n and_o this_o be_v the_o very_a baptism_n the_o apostle_n paul_n speak_v of_o when_o he_o say_v know_v you_o not_o so_o many_o of_o we_o as_o be_v baptize_v into_o christ_n be_v baptize_v into_o his_o death_n therefore_o we_o be_v bury_v with_o he_o by_o baptism_n into_o his_o death_n etc._n etc._n for_o if_o we_o have_v be_v plant_v together_o into_o the_o likeness_n of_o his_o death_n we_o shall_v also_o be_v in_o the_o likeness_n of_o his_o resurrection_n know_v this_o that_o our_o old_a man_n be_v crucify_v with_o he_o that_o the_o body_n of_o sin_n may_v be_v destroy_v that_o henceforth_o we_o shall_v not_o serve_v sin_n etc._n etc._n rom._n 6.2_o 3_o 4_o 5_o etc._n etc._n and_o those_o soul_n who_o know_v god_n in_o this_o work_n can_v witness_v to_o the_o truth_n of_o the_o threefold_a name_n of_o father_n son_n and_o holy_a ghost_n because_o they_o know_v the_o power_n and_o work_n of_o god_n in_o these_o three_o baptism_n under_o these_o three_o name_n and_o none_o else_o can_v speak_v right_o of_o they_o because_o they_o have_v but_o the_o knowledge_n thereof_o by_o relation_n &_o though_o god_n let_v out_o himself_o in_o this_o threefold_a manner_n as_o be_v before_o say_v yet_o god_n be_v but_o one_o and_o the_o same_o god_n and_o though_o there_o be_v these_o three_o baptism_n yet_o they_o all_o make_v up_o but_o one_o perfect_a baptism_n by_o which_o the_o soul_n be_v perfect_o complete_v in_o one_o faith_n ephes_n 4.5_o whereby_o the_o soul_n become_v lead_v out_o of_o all_o thing_n act_v or_o create_v and_o all_o suffering_n or_o love_n of_o the_o world_n and_o unstablenesse_n of_o spirit_n be_v carry_v to_o and_o fro_o by_o the_o power_n of_o sin_n inward_a or_o outward_a and_o so_o come_v to_o own_o christ_n in_o his_o propitiation_n by_o way_n of_o a_o historical_a believe_a this_o be_v to_o prepare_v the_o paschall_n lamb_n to_o themselves_o contrary_a to_o the_o command_n of_o god_n and_o do_v boil_v the_o same_o in_o water_n viz._n their_o sin_n and_o lust_n by_o the_o fire_n of_o the_o false_a faith_n and_o thereby_o their_o sin_n as_o the_o water_n take_v the_o virtue_n of_o the_o lamb_n into_o itself_o and_o thus_o the_o broth_n be_v make_v sweet_a to_o they_o then_o the_o meat_n boil_a in_o it_o and_o from_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o sin_n be_v so_o pleasant_a to_o man_n because_o they_o have_v season_v it_o by_o the_o virtue_n of_o the_o boil_a of_o the_o paschall_n lamb_n in_o it_o viz._n by_o the_o false_a application_n of_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n whereby_o they_o get_v to_o themselves_o liberty_n to_o sin_n and_o by_o so_o do_v make_v christ_n the_o author_n of_o unrighteousness_n gal._n 2.7_o and_o can_v free_o sin_v that_o grace_n may_v abound_v rom._n 6.1_o so_o as_o form_n and_o apply_v christ_n in_o these_o form_n according_a as_o he_o be_v and_o what_o he_o suffer_v in_o the_o flesh_n and_o from_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o though_o they_o have_v the_o plague_n of_o leprosy_n upon_o they_o viz._n heart_n full_a of_o sin_n and_o selfenesse_n yet_o do_v they_o not_o know_v it_o but_o by_o the_o physic_n get_v out_o of_o these_o form_n they_o keep_v down_o or_o his_o fury_n or_o anger_n etc._n etc._n be_v kindle_v in_o the_o soul_n of_o man_n in_o the_o condemn_a property_n of_o the_o light_n which_o be_v in_o the_o conscience_n and_o the_o spirit_n of_o man_n find_v itself_o deprive_v of_o the_o love_n of_o god_n and_o nothing_o but_o the_o fury_n of_o the_o lord_n pour_v out_o and_o that_o nothing_o but_o woe_n and_o want_n appear_v in_o the_o indignation_n with_o he_o and_o own_v he_o in_o that_o way_n and_o walk_v with_o he_o in_o that_o way_n in_o the_o daily_o deny_v of_o self_n and_o this_o christ_n himself_o leave_v in_o command_n the_o divine_a nature_n or_o the_o union_n of_o the_o father_n and_o in_o that_o union_n of_o the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n to_o keep_v the_o heart_n with_o its_o affection_n that_o so_o the_o fellowship_n of_o the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n may_v daily_o be_v the_o fellowship_n of_o our_o heart_n and_o this_o be_v that_o which_o ought_v to_o be_v the_o centre_n of_o all_o heart_n without_o which_o there_o can_v be_v no_o happiness_n in_o any_o form_n yea_o this_o lead_v the_o heart_n out_o of_o centre_v in_o form_n and_o this_o be_v that_o which_o the_o apostle_n will_v have_v those_o who_o he_o write_v to_o to_o enjoy_v and_o for_o that_o end_n he_o declare_v the_o truth_n as_o it_o be_v in_o jesus_n that_o so_o they_o may_v have_v fellowship_n with_o they_o who_o be_v partaker_n of_o the_o truth_n and_o he_o affirm_v that_o their_o fellowship_n be_v with_o the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n 1_o jo._n 1.2_o 3._o and_o where_o the_o heart_n be_v right_o call_v and_o right_o carry_v on_o in_o the_o way_n of_o christ_n and_o those_o who_o be_v his_o follower_n they_o rest_v not_o in_o form_n and_o kirk-fellowship_n for_o they_o find_v in_o themselves_o other_o matter_n to_o go_v about_o and_o that_o be_v to_o press_v after_o the_o fellowship_n of_o the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n and_o their_o longing_n empty_a mourn_a spirit_n be_v not_o nor_o can_v be_v
