first_o here_o what_o thou_o can_v endure_v hereafter_o if_o now_o thou_o can_v endure_v so_o little_a how_o will_v thou_o then_o be_v able_a to_o endure_v perpetual_a torment_n if_o now_o a_o little_a suffering_n make_v thou_o so_o impatient_a what_o will_v hell_n fire_n do_v hereafter_o assure_v thyself_o thou_o can_v not_o have_v two_o paradise_n it_o be_v impossible_a to_o enjoy_v delight_n in_o this_o world_n and_o after_o that_o to_o reign_v with_o christ._n 7._o suppose_v thou_o have_v hitherto_o live_v always_o in_o honour_n and_o delight_n what_o will_v all_o this_o avail_v thou_o if_o thou_o be_v to_o die_v at_o this_o instant_n all_o therefore_o be_v vanity_n but_o to_o love_n god_n and_o serve_v he_o only_o for_o he_o that_o love_v god_n with_o all_o his_o heart_n be_v neither_o afraid_a of_o death_n nor_o punishment_n nor_o of_o judgement_n nor_o of_o hell_n for_o perfect_a love_n give_v secure_a access_n to_o god_n but_o he_o that_o take_v delight_n in_o sin_n what_o marvel_n be_v it_o if_o he_o be_v afraid_a both_o of_o death_n and_o judgement_n yet_o it_o be_v good_a although_o love_n be_v not_o yet_o of_o force_n to_o withhold_v thou_o from_o sin_n that_o at_o least_o the_o fear_n of_o hell_n shall_v restrain_v thou_o but_o he_o that_o lay_v aside_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n can_v never_o continue_v long_o in_o good_a estate_n but_o fall_v quick_o into_o the_o snare_n of_o the_o devil_n chap._n xxv_o of_o the_o zealous_a amendment_n of_o our_o whole_a life_n be_v watchful_a and_o diligent_a in_o the_o service_n of_o god_n and_o often_o either_o negligent_a or_o proud_a 2._o when_o one_o that_o be_v in_o great_a anxiety_n of_o mind_n often_o waver_v between_o fear_n and_o hope_n do_v once_o be_v oppress_v with_o grief_n humble_o know_v what_o shall_v befall_v he_o but_o rather_o labour_v to_o understand_v what_o be_v the_o perfect_a and_o acceptable_a will_n of_o god_n for_o the_o beginning_n and_o accomplish_v of_o every_o good_a work_n 3._o hope_v in_o the_o lord_n and_o do_v good_a say_v the_o prophet_n and_o inhabit_v the_o land_n and_o thou_o shall_v be_v feed_v in_o the_o riches_n thereof_o one_o thing_n there_o be_v that_o draw_v many_o back_n from_o a_o spiritual_a progress_n and_o the_o diligent_a amendment_n of_o their_o life_n viz._n the_o horror_n of_o the_o difficulty_n or_o the_o labour_n of_o the_o combat_n but_o they_o above_o other_o improve_v most_o in_o virtue_n that_o endeavour_v most_o to_o overcome_v those_o thing_n which_o be_v grievous_a and_o contrary_a unto_o they_o for_o there_o a_o man_n improve_v more_o and_o obtain_v great_a grace_n where_o he_o more_o overcome_v himself_o and_o mortify_v himself_o in_o spirit_n 4._o but_o all_o man_n have_v not_o alike_o to_o overcome_v and_o mortify_v yet_o he_o that_o be_v zealous_a and_o diligent_a though_o he_o have_v more_o passion_n shall_v profit_v more_o in_o virtue_n than_o another_o that_o be_v of_o a_o more_o temperate_a disposition_n if_o he_o be_v less_o fervent_a in_o the_o pursuit_n of_o virtue_n two_o thing_n especial_o much_o further_o our_o amendment_n to_o wit_n to_o withdraw_v ourselves_o violent_o from_o that_o to_o which_o nature_n be_v vicious_o incline_v and_o to_o labour_v earnest_o for_o that_o virtue_n which_o we_o most_o want_v be_v careful_a also_o to_o avoid_v with_o great_a diligence_n those_o thing_n in_o thyself_o which_o do_v common_o displease_v thou_o in_o other_o 5._o gather_v some_o profit_n to_o thy_o soul_n wheresoever_o thou_o be_v so_o as_o if_o thou_o see_v or_o hear_v of_o any_o good_a example_n stir_v up_o thyself_o to_o the_o imitation_n thereof_o but_o if_o thou_o see_v any_o thing_n worthy_a of_o reproof_n beware_v thou_o do_v not_o the_o same_o and_o if_o at_o any_o time_n thou_o have_v do_v it_o labour_v quick_o to_o amend_v it_o as_o thy_o eye_n observe_v other_o so_o be_v thou_o also_o note_v again_o by_o other_o o_o how_o sweet_a and_o pleasant_a a_o to_o be_v profitable_a then_o grant_v unto_o i_o that_o i_o may_v use_v this_o unto_o thy_o honour_n but_o if_o thou_o know_v it_o will_v be_v hurtful_a unto_o i_o and_o not_o profitable_a to_o the_o health_n of_o my_o soul_n take_v away_o this_o desire_n from_o i_o for_o every_o desire_n proceed_v not_o from_o the_o holy_a ghost_n though_o it_o seem_v unto_o man_n right_a and_o good_a it_o be_v that_o they_o can_v not_o long_o endure_v wherefore_o my_o soul_n thou_o can_v not_o be_v full_o comfort_v nor_o have_v perfect_a delight_n but_o in_o god_n the_o comforter_n of_o the_o poor_a and_o the_o world_n but_o such_o as_o the_o good_a and_o faithful_a servant_n of_o christ_n expect_v and_o the_o spiritual_a and_o pure_a in_o heart_n who_o conversation_n be_v in_o heaven_n sometime_o have_v a_o foretaste_n of_o vain_a and_o short_a be_v all_o humane_a comfort_n bless_a and_o true_a be_v the_o comfort_n which_o be_v receive_v inward_o from_o the_o truth_n a_o religious_a man_n
