of_o as_o a_o pretence_n to_o destroy_v he_o but_o what_o be_v the_o true_a reason_n of_o seek_v his_o life_n appear_v from_o what_o we_o have_v in_o this_o vii_o chapter_n v_o 25-34_a then_o say_v some_o of_o they_o at_o jerusalem_n be_v not_o this_o he_o who_o they_o seek_v to_o kill_v but_o lo_o he_o speak_v bold_o and_o they_o say_v nothing_o unto_o he_o do_v the_o ruler_n know_v indeed_o that_o this_o be_v the_o very_a messiah_n howbeit_o we_o know_v this_o man_n whence_o he_o be_v but_o when_o the_o messiah_n come_v no_o man_n know_v whence_o he_o be_v then_o cry_v jesus_n in_o the_o temple_n as_o he_o teach_v you_o both_o know_v i_o and_o you_o know_v whence_o i_o be_o and_o i_o be_o not_o come_v of_o myself_o but_o he_o that_o send_v i_o be_v true_a who_o you_o know_v not_o but_o i_o know_v he_o for_o i_o be_o from_o he_o and_o he_o have_v send_v i_o then_o they_o seek_v a_o occasion_n to_o take_v he_o but_o no_o man_n lay_v hand_n on_o he_o because_o his_o hour_n be_v not_o yet_o come_v and_o many_o of_o the_o people_n believe_v on_o he_o and_o say_v when_o the_o messiah_n come_v will_v be_v do_v more_o miracle_n than_o these_o which_o this_o man_n have_v do_v the_o pharisee_n hear_v that_o the_o people_n murmur_v such_o thing_n concern_v he_o and_o the_o pharisee_n and_o chief_a priest_n send_v officer_n to_o take_v he_o then_o say_v jesus_n unto_o they_o yet_o a_o little_a while_n be_o i_o with_o you_o and_o then_o i_o go_v to_o he_o that_o send_v i_o you_o shall_v seek_v i_o and_o not_o find_v i_o and_o where_o i_o be_o there_o you_o can_v come_v then_o say_v the_o jew_n among_o themselves_o whither_o will_v he_o go_v that_o we_o shall_v not_o find_v he_o here_o we_o find_v that_o the_o great_a fault_n in_o our_o saviour_n and_o the_o great_a provocation_n to_o the_o jew_n be_v his_o be_v take_v for_o the_o messiah_n and_o do_v such_o thing_n as_o make_v the_o people_n believe_v in_o he_o i._n e._n believe_v that_o he_o be_v the_o messiah_n here_o also_o our_o saviour_n declare_v in_o word_n very_o easy_a to_o be_v understand_v at_o least_o after_o his_o resurrection_n that_o he_o be_v the_o messiah_n for_o if_o he_o be_v send_v from_o god_n and_o do_v his_o miracle_n by_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n there_o can_v be_v no_o doubt_n but_o he_o be_v the_o messiah_n but_o yet_o this_o declaration_n be_v in_o a_o way_n that_o the_o pharisee_n and_o priest_n can_v not_o lay_v hold_v on_o to_o make_v a_o accusation_n of_o to_o the_o disturbance_n of_o his_o ministry_n or_o the_o seizure_n of_o his_o person_n how_o much_o soever_o they_o desire_v it_o for_o his_o time_n be_v not_o yet_o come_v the_o officer_n they_o have_v send_v to_o apprehend_v he_o charm_v with_o his_o discourse_n return_v without_o lay_v hand_n on_o he_o v_o 45_o 46._o and_o when_o the_o chief_a priest_n ask_v they_o why_o they_o bring_v he_o not_o they_o answer_v never_o man_n speak_v like_o this_o man_n whereupon_o the_o pharisee_n reply_n be_v you_o also_o deceive_v have_v any_o of_o the_o ruler_n or_o of_o the_o pharisee_n believe_v on_o he_o but_o this_o people_n who_o know_v not_o the_o law_n be_v curse_v this_o show_v what_o be_v mean_v by_o believe_v on_o he_o viz._n believe_v that_o he_o be_v the_o messiah_n for_o say_v they_o have_v any_o of_o the_o ruler_n who_o be_v skill_v in_o the_o law_n or_o of_o the_o messiah_n they_o be_v ignorant_a and_o vile_a wretch_n know_v nothing_o of_o the_o scripture_n and_o be_v accurse_v be_v give_v up_o by_o god_n to_o be_v deceive_v by_o this_o impostor_n and_o to_o take_v he_o for_o the_o messiah_n therefore_o notwithstanding_o their_o desire_n to_o lay_v hold_n on_o he_o he_o go_v on_o and_o v_o 37_o 38._o in_o the_o last_o and_o great_a day_n of_o the_o feast_n jesus_n stand_v and_o cry_v say_v if_o any_o man_n thirst_n let_v he_o come_v unto_o i_o and_o drink_n he_o that_o believe_v on_o i_o as_o the_o scripture_n have_v say_v out_o of_o his_o belly_n shall_v flow_v river_n of_o live_a water_n and_o thus_o he_o here_o again_o declare_v himself_o to_o be_v the_o messiah_n but_o in_o the_o prophetic_a stile_n as_o we_o may_v see_v by_o the_o next_o verse_n of_o this_o chapter_n and_o those_o place_n in_o the_o old_a testament_n that_o these_o word_n of_o our_o saviour_n refer_v to_o in_o the_o next_o chapter_n john_n viii_o all_o that_o he_o say_v concern_v himself_o and_o what_o they_o be_v to_o believe_v tend_v to_o this_o viz._n that_o he_o be_v send_v from_o god_n his_o father_n and_o that_o if_o they_o do_v not_o believe_v that_o he_o be_v the_o messiah_n they_o shall_v die_v in_o their_o sin_n but_o this_o in_o a_o way_n as_o st._n john_n observe_v v_o 27._o that_o they_o do_v not_o well_o understand_v but_o our_o saviour_n himself_o tell_v they_o v_o 28._o when_o you_o have_v lift_v up_o the_o son_n of_o man_n then_o shall_v you_o know_v that_o i_o be_o he_o go_v from_o they_o he_o cure_v the_o man_n bear_v blind_a who_o meeting_n with_o again_o after_o the_o jew_n have_v question_v he_o and_o cast_v he_o out_o john_n ix_o 35-38_a jesus_n say_v to_o he_o do_v thou_o believe_v on_o the_o son_n of_o god_n both_o jew_n and_o gentile_n but_o in_o a_o parable_n which_o they_o understand_v not_o v_o 6._o 20._o as_o he_o be_v go_v to_o the_o feast_n of_o the_o dedication_n the_o pharisee_n ask_v he_o luke_n xvii_o 20._o when_o the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n i._n e._n of_o the_o messiah_n shall_v come_v he_o answer_v that_o it_o shall_v not_o come_v with_o pomp_n and_o observation_n and_o great_a concourse_n but_o that_o it_o be_v already_o begin_v among_o they_o if_o he_o have_v stop_v here_o the_o sense_n have_v be_v so_o plain_a that_o they_o can_v hardly_o have_v mistake_v he_o or_o have_v doubt_v but_o that_o he_o mean_v that_o the_o messiah_n be_v already_o come_v and_o among_o they_o and_o so_o may_v have_v be_v prone_a to_o infer_v that_o jesus_n take_v upon_o he_o to_o be_v he_o but_o here_o as_o in_o the_o place_n before_o take_v notice_n of_o subjoyn_v to_o this_o the_o future_a revelation_n of_o himself_o both_o in_o his_o come_n to_o execute_v vengeance_n on_o the_o jew_n and_o in_o his_o come_n to_o judgement_n mix_v together_o he_o so_o involve_v his_o sense_n that_o it_o be_v not_o easy_a to_o understand_v he_o and_o therefore_o the_o jew_n come_v to_o he_o again_o in_o the_o temple_n john_n x._o 23._o and_o say_v how_o long_o do_v thou_o make_v we_o doubt_n if_o thou_o be_v the_o christ_n tell_v we_o plain_o jesus_n answer_v i_o tell_v you_o and_o you_o believe_v not_o the_o work_n that_o i_o do_v in_o my_o father_n name_n they_o bear_v witness_n of_o i_o but_o you_o believe_v not_o because_o you_o be_v not_o of_o my_o sheep_n as_o i_o tell_v you_o the_o believe_v here_o which_o he_o accuse_v they_o of_o not_o do_v be_v plain_o their_o not_o believe_v he_o to_o be_v the_o messiah_n as_o the_o forego_n word_n evince_v and_o in_o the_o same_o sense_n
