they_o appear_v in_o the_o generality_n of_o their_o church-member_n not_o in_o thing_n disapprove_v but_o high_o approve_v and_o commend_v by_o their_o father_n the_o pope_n and_o all_o his_o client_n as_o the_o most_o beneficial_a casuality_n of_o all_o his_o revenue_n we_o shall_v find_v that_o luther_n do_v not_o without_o great_a ground_n oppose_v himself_o to_o they_o in_o this_o that_o they_o place_v not_o their_o justification_n so_o much_o in_o work_n that_o be_v true_o and_o moral_o good_a and_o in_o the_o be_v true_o renew_v and_o sanctify_v in_o the_o mind_n as_o in_o such_o thing_n as_o be_v either_o not_o good_a nor_o evil_a or_o may_v true_o be_v call_v evil_a and_o can_v no_o otherways_o be_v reckon_v good_a than_o because_o the_o pope_n please_v to_o call_v as_o a_o necessary_a and_o stand_a ordinance_n of_o jesus_n christ._n §_o v._o first_o it_o must_v be_v understand_v that_o i_o speak_v of_o a_o necessary_a and_o peculiar_a relation_n otherwise_o be_v credit_v which_o opinion_n though_o it_o be_v indeed_o to_o be_v abominate_v yet_o no_o less_o be_v calvin_n practice_n in_o cause_v he_o to_o be_v burn_v and_o afterward_o defend_v that_o it_o be_v lawful_a to_o burn_v heretic_n by_o which_o he_o encourage_v the_o papist_n to_o lead_v his_o follower_n the_o more_o confident_o to_o the_o stake_n as_o have_v for_o their_o warrant_n the_o doctrine_n of_o their_o own_o sect-master_n which_o they_o omit_v not_o frequent_o to_o twit_v they_o with_o and_o indeed_o it_o be_v to_o they_o unanswerable_a hence_o upon_o this_o occasion_n the_o judicious_a author_n of_o the_o history_n of_o the_o couneil_n of_o trent_n in_o his_o five_o book_n where_o give_v a_o account_n of_o several_a protestant_n that_o be_v burn_v for_o their_o religion_n well_o and_o wise_o observe_v it_o as_o a_o matter_n of_o astonishment_n that_o those_o of_o the_o new_a reformation_n do_v offer_v to_o punish_v in_o case_n of_o religion_n and_o afterward_o take_v notice_n that_o calvin_n justify_v the_o punish_n of_o heretic_n he_o add_v but_o since_o the_o name_n of_o heresy_n may_v be_v more_o or_o less_o restrict_v yea_o or_o diverse_o take_v this_o doctrine_n may_v be_v likewise_o take_v in_o divers_a sense_n and_o may_v at_o one_o time_n hurt_v those_o who_o at_o another_o time_n it_o may_v have_v benifit_v so_o that_o this_o doctrine_n of_o persecution_n can_v be_v mention_v by_o protestant_n without_o strengthen_v the_o hand_n of_o popish_a inquisitor_n and_o indeed_o in_o the_o end_n land_n in_o direct_a popery_n see_v if_o i_o may_v not_o profess_v and_o preach_v that_o religion_n which_o i_o be_o persuade_v of_o in_o my_o conscience_n be_v true_a it_o be_v to_o no_o purpose_n to_o search_v the_o scripture_n or_o to_o seek_v to_o choose_v my_o own_o faith_n by_o conviction_n thence_o derive_v since_o whatever_o i_o there_o observe_v or_o be_o persuade_v of_o i_o must_v either_o subject_n to_o the_o jungment_n of_o the_o magistrate_n and_o church_n of_o that_o place_n i_o be_o in_o or_o else_o resolve_v to_o remove_v or_o die_v yea_o do_v not_o this_o heretical_a and_o anti-christian_n doctrine_n both_o of_o papist_n and_o protestant_n at_o last_o resolve_n into_o that_o curse_a policy_n of_o mahomet_n who_o prohibit_v all_o reason_n or_o discourse_n about_o religion_n as_o occasion_v faction_n and_o division_n and_o indeed_o those_o that_o press_v persecution_n and_o deny_v liberty_n of_o conscience_n do_v thereby_o show_v themselves_o more_o the_o disciple_n of_o mahomet_n than_o of_o christ_n and_o that_o they_o be_v no_o way_n follower_n of_o he_o apostle_n doctrine_n who_o desire_v the_o thessalonian_n 1_o thess._n 5.21_o to_o prove_v all_o thing_n and_o hold_v fast_o that_o which_o be_v
