confess_v his_o own_o unprofitablenes_n and_o styck_v only_o to_o the_o sanctifyinge_v which_o come_v of_o god_n grace_n and_o mercy_n hereof_o then_o be_v it_o plain_a why_o the_o holy_a ghost_n be_v so_o call_v because_o it_o do_v make_v holy_a and_o sanctify_v that_o be_v by_o the_o word_n it_o stir_v up_o in_o we_o faith_n toward_o christ_n that_o thereby_o we_o may_v obtain_v remission_n of_o our_o sin_n beside_o this_o office_n of_o sanctifyinge_v 2._o the_o holy_a ghost_n have_v other_o office_n as_o he_o have_v other_o name_n in_o scripture_n for_o zacharie_n call_v he_o the_o spirit_n of_o prayer_n ghost_n because_o he_o encourage_v the_o heart_n to_o trust_v sure_o in_o god_n and_o to_o call_v upon_o he_o in_o their_o necessity_n also_o christ_n call_v he_o the_o conforter_n which_o help_v our_o heart_n by_o stirringe_n we_o to_o take_v patient_o all_o thing_n 14._o &_o that_o they_o shall_v be_v fear_v by_o no_o misfortune_n or_o combrance_n of_o the_o world_n also_o he_o call_v he_o the_o spirit_n of_o truth_n because_o to_o withstand_v lie_n and_o heresy_n 15._o and_o to_o confirm_v the_o pure_a word_n and_o true_a faith_n he_o be_v always_o bend_v whereas_o contrariwise_o the_o devil_n by_o our_o reason_n and_o false_a doctrine_n will_v cast_v we_o headlong_o into_o error_n and_o lie_n these_o be_v the_o proper_a office_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n beside_o that_o he_o garnish_v the_o heart_n of_o the_o faithful_a with_o diverse_a virtue_n and_o gift_n and_o be_v such_o a_o conforter_n that_o bide_v with_o we_o always_o where_o as_o all_o the_o worldly_a conforte_n be_v but_o for_o a_o time_n and_o at_o last_o forsake_v us._n obtain_v see_v then_o that_o the_o holy_a ghost_n do_v work_v such_o great_a thing_n in_o us._n this_o also_o be_v to_o be_v learn_v which_o be_v the_o way_n to_o attain_v to_o such_o great_a gift_n and_o how_o they_o may_v begin_v to_o grow_v in_o we_o 11._o and_o that_o we_o may_v receive_v the_o holy_a ghost_n and_o thereby_o be_v sanctify_v and_o save_v as_o touching_n this_o thing_n christ_n himself_o do_v teach_v us._n prayer_n luke_n xj_o whereas_o he_o say_v on_o this_o wise_a see_v that_o you_o that_o be_v evyll_n can_v geve_v good_a thing_n to_o your_o son_n how_o much_o more_o can_v your_o heavenly_a father_n geve_v his_o holy_a spyrite_n unto_o they_o that_o ask_v it_o of_o he_o it_o be_v a_o sentence_n worthy_a to_o be_v rehearse_v teaching_n first_o that_o god_n will_v that_o the_o holy_a ghost_n shall_v be_v obtain_v by_o prayer_n of_o he_o and_o that_o he_o geve_v it_o to_o they_o that_o with_o humble_a prayer_n desire_v it_o of_o the_o father_n wherefore_o when_o thou_o haste_v a_o desire_n in_o thy_o mind_n to_o obtain_v the_o holy_a ghost_n of_o god_n continewe_v in_o prayinge_v and_o doubt_n not_o but_o thou_o shall_v obtain_v this_o be_v the_o ready_a way_n to_o obtain_v the_o holy_a ghost_n for_o christ_n himself_o do_v teach_v thou_o so_o to_o do_v prayer_n and_o to_o call_v upon_o god_n the_o father_n often_o for_o the_o holy_a ghost_n but_o this_o prayer_n as_o all_o other_o prayer_n must_v be_v make_v also_o in_o the_o name_n of_o jesv_n and_o on_o such_o wise_n must_v we_o pray_v god_n that_o he_o for_o christ_n his_o son_n sake_n will_v geve_v we_o the_o holy_a ghost_n christ_n and_o to_o the_o attainment_n thereof_o have_v great_a help_n in_o that_o that_o christ_n ascend_v to_o the_o father_n for_o no_o other_o cause_n but_o to_o receive_v these_o gift_n of_o the_o father_n and_o to_o geve_v they_o unto_o us._n wherefore_o in_o our_o prayer_n we_o can_v not_o doubt_v for_o it_o be_v not_o only_o command_v of_o god_n that_o we_o shall_v pray_v for_o the_o holy_a ghost_n and_o also_o promise_v that_o we_o shall_v obtain_v but_o also_o his_o will_n be_v ready_a to_o geve_v it_o for_o as_o much_o as_o christ_n therefore_o sit_v at_o the_o right_a hand_n of_o god_n the_o father_n to_o distribute_v amongst_o we_o these_o gift_n for_o he_o also_o receive_v they_o of_o the_o father_n as_o it_o be_v writent_a in_o the_o lxviij_o psal_n not_o for_o himself_o but_o for_o man_n 68_o to_o geve_v they_o unto_o they_o beside_o prayer_n there_o be_v other_o thing_n also_o necessary_a to_o the_o obtayninge_v of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n for_o we_o must_v have_v a_o fervent_a study_n to_o read_v or_o hear_v the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o to_o use_v often_o the_o sacrament_n that_o all_o these_o thing_n join_v to_o gether_o may_v make_v open_a the_o way_n for_o the_o holy_a ghost_n for_o this_o be_v once_o for_o all_o
