we_o for_o in_o the_o time_n of_o tribulation_n whereby_o thou_o punish_v thou_o pardone_v the_o sin_n of_o they_o who_o invoke_v thy_o name_n with_o a_o true_a heart_n thus_o do_v god_n proceed_v with_o man_n by_o mean_n of_o tribulation_n some_o who_o be_v in_o sin_n he_o induce_v by_o this_o mean_n to_o do_v penance_n whereby_o they_o grow_v to_o be_v free_a from_o the_o offence_n into_o which_o they_o have_v fall_v and_o such_o as_o be_v in_o the_o state_n of_o grace_n he_o occasion_n to_o exercise_v patience_n whereby_o he_o deliver_v they_o from_o those_o penalty_n which_o they_o have_v incur_v for_o their_o former_a sin_n and_o so_o great_a care_n have_v god_n to_o show_v this_o mercy_n to_o this_o elect_a that_o he_o permit_v other_o man_n either_o through_o ignorance_n or_o malice_n to_o afflict_v and_o trouble_v they_o and_o by_o occasion_n and_o under_o the_o title_n of_o fault_n which_o they_o have_v not_o commit_v in_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n just_o as_o the_o brethren_n of_o joseph_n exod._n 1._o who_o find_v themselves_o to_o be_v afflict_v and_o punish_v in_o egypt_n for_o the_o suppose_a offence_n of_o be_v spy_n which_o they_o have_v not_o commit_v come_v to_o know_v that_o indeed_o god_n send_v they_o that_o punishment_n for_o the_o sin_n which_o they_o have_v commit_v in_o sell_v their_o brother_n and_o so_o they_o confess_v it_o say_v this_o punishment_n be_v just_o inflict_v on_o we_o for_o we_o have_v sin_v against_o our_o brother_n and_o this_o trouble_n be_v come_v upon_o we_o for_o that_o sin_n saint_n esrem_n relate_v of_o himself_o that_o be_v a_o boy_n and_o go_v into_o the_o field_n to_o play_v he_o hunt_v a_o calf_n of_o another_o man_n so_o hard_a and_o throw_v so_o many_o stone_n at_o it_o as_o that_o he_o kill_v it_o at_o length_n and_o walk_v about_o a_o month_n after_o through_o that_o field_n again_o he_o fall_v out_o to_o take_v he_o rest_v among_o some_o shepherd_n who_o be_v look_v to_o their_o flock_n a_o part_n of_o which_o flock_n be_v want_v that_o night_n for_o it_o have_v be_v scatter_v by_o some_o ravenous_a beast_n the_o lord_n of_o the_o flock_n think_v they_o have_v be_v thief_n who_o do_v that_o hurt_n &_o that_o efrem_fw-la be_v some_o comrade_n of_o they_o they_o accuse_v he_o and_o take_v he_o for_o a_o thief_n and_o while_o he_o be_v in_o prison_n and_o much_o afflict_a a_o angel_n appear_v to_o he_o in_o his_o sleep_n demand_v the_o cause_n of_o his_o be_v there_o he_o answer_v that_o he_o have_v be_v take_v without_o any_o fault_n of_o he_o then_o the_o angel_n say_v i_o know_v well_o that_o thou_o be_v free_a from_o any_o fault_n in_o this_o but_o remember_v that_o thou_o make_v a_o fault_n not_o long_o ago_o in_o kill_v the_o calf_n of_o that_o poor_a man_n and_o so_o thou_o will_v see_v that_o now_o thou_o be_v just_o take_v &_o make_v prisoner_n in_o the_o part_n of_o god_n and_o that_o his_o judgment_n be_v very_o just_a he_o also_o tell_v he_o of_o other_o who_o be_v there_o imprison_v for_o offence_n which_o indeed_o they_o have_v not_o commit_v but_o they_o have_v commit_v other_o sin_n in_o regard_n whereof_o god_n send_v they_o that_o punishment_n which_o they_o have_v just_o deserve_v the_o angel_n vanish_v &_o efrem_fw-la speak_v after_o with_o those_o prisoner_n find_v that_o to_o be_v true_a which_o the_o angel_n have_v tell_v he_o and_o they_o be_v execute_v for_o offence_n which_o they_o have_v not_o commit_v and_o satisfy_v thus_o for_o other_o which_o have_v be_v commit_v by_o they_o these_o be_v the_o just_a judgment_n of_o god_n whereby_o he_o govern_v the_o world_n and_o address_v his_o elect_a to_o the_o end_n of_o eternal_a happiness_n for_o which_o he_o choose_v they_o and_o from_o hence_o we_o must_v learn_v to_o think_v holy_o of_o god_n in_o all_o those_o tribulation_n and_o adversity_n which_o he_o may_v send_v we_o in_o this_o life_n confess_v and_o acknowledge_v that_o he_o proceed_v most_o just_o with_o we_o because_o for_o our_o sin_n we_o deserve_v those_o punishment_n which_o he_o send_v we_o yea_o and_o other_o which_o be_v incomparable_o great_a and_o we_o must_v know_v &_o confess_v moreover_o that_o herein_o he_o show_v we_o a_o unspeakable_a kind_n of_o mercy_n for_o as_o much_o as_o by_o the_o light_n and_o short_a punishment_n of_o this_o life_n he_o not_o only_o deliver_v we_o from_o those_o fierce_a pain_n of_o purgatory_n but_o also_o from_o the_o eternal_a torment_n of_o hell_n thus_o do_v that_o holy_a tobias_n proceed_v in_o the_o tribulation_n which_o god_n send_v he_o for_o he_o receive_v they_o willing_o for_o his_o sin_n and_o acknowledge_v that_o the_o punishment_n be_v very_o just_a &_o that_o he_o deserve_v both_o that_o &_o a_o far_o great_a and_o he_o acknowledge_v that_o god_n show_v he_o a_o sovereign_a kind_n of_o mercy_n for_o as_o much_o as_o he_o punish_v he_o that_o so_o he_o may_v deliver_v he_o both_o from_o the_o fault_n and_o from_o
