our_o saviour_n now_o this_o virtue_n this_o power_n this_o efficacy_n of_o it_o as_o it_o be_v that_o which_o with_o the_o apostle_n we_o ought_v all_o most_o earnest_o to_o endeavour_v the_o experience_n in_o ourselves_o so_o it_o be_v that_o which_o will_v be_v fit_a for_o we_o at_o this_o time_n to_o apply_v our_o meditation_n to_o my_o work_n therefore_o at_o this_o time_n shall_v be_v good_a all_o that_o force_n and_o efficacy_n that_o its_o argument_n its_o promise_n its_o precept_n its_o encouragement_n its_o threaten_n have_v upon_o the_o understanding_n
christ_n who_o be_v once_o dead_a be_v alive_a again_o and_o life_n in_o unexpressible_a glory_n at_o the_o right_a hand_n of_o god_n and_o at_o the_o same_o time_n that_o he_o rise_v he_o raise_v of_o their_o natural_a reason_n if_o we_o have_v no_o other_o assurance_n of_o the_o immortality_n of_o the_o soul_n and_o the_o reward_n and_o punishment_n of_o another_o life_n but_o what_o be_v afford_v we_o by_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n and_o the_o deduction_n of_o philosophy_n i_o doubt_v we_o can_v never_o expect_v to_o see_v any_o great_a reformation_n in_o our_o manner_n some_o of_o the_o philosopher_n have_v indeed_o to_o their_o immortal_a fame_n assert_v the_o truth_n of_o these_o thing_n but_o than_o other_o of_o they_o have_v as_o much_o make_v it_o their_o business_n to_o run_v they_o down_o and_o as_o for_o those_o of_o they_o that_o speak_v the_o best_a concern_v the_o other_o world_n yet_o god_n know_v their_o discourse_n upon_o this_o argument_n as_o will_v appear_v to_o any_o that_o read_v they_o be_v general_o very_o uncertain_a and_o altogether_o conjectural_a but_o admit_v their_o reason_n to_o be_v strong_a and_o conclusive_a as_o i_o be_o far_o from_o deny_v that_o the_o soul_n immortality_n be_v demonstrable_a by_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n yet_o there_o be_v general_o these_o two_o inconvenience_n in_o the_o argument_n they_o make_v demonstration_n which_o christ_n have_v give_v we_o of_o a_o glorious_a immortality_n by_o his_o resurrection_n from_o the_o dead_a as_o it_o be_v infinite_o certain_a and_o conclusive_a so_o it_o be_v plain_a and_o easy_a short_a and_o compendious_a powerful_a and_o operative_a no_o man_n that_o believe_v the_o matter_n of_o fact_n can_v deny_v the_o cogency_n of_o it_o man_n of_o the_o mean_a capacity_n may_v apprehend_v it_o person_n in_o a_o crowd_n of_o business_n and_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o temptation_n may_v attend_v to_o it_o and_o it_o have_v this_o virtue_n beside_o that_o it_o leave_v a_o last_a impression_n upon_o the_o spirit_n of_o those_o that_o do_v believe_v and_o consider_v it_o thanks_o therefore_o to_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n for_o this_o excellent_a instrument_n of_o piety_n that_o he_o have_v give_v we_o by_o his_o resurrection_n everlasting_a praise_n to_o his_o name_n that_o he_o have_v thus_o bring_v life_n and_o immortality_n to_o light_v
