they_o shall_v go_v so_o far_o it_o be_v satan_n that_o deceive_v they_o notwithstanding_o they_o be_v sorry_a for_o their_o sin_n and_o do_v lament_v they_o yea_o it_o grieve_v they_o to_o the_o hart_n that_o they_o must_v bear_v the_o miserable_a burden_n of_o this_o flesh_n and_o they_o cry_v out_o together_o with_o s._n paul_n rom._n 7._o o_o wretched_a man_n that_o i_o be_o who_o shall_v deliver_v i_o from_o the_o body_n of_o this_o death_n this_o shrite_n &_o cry_v all_o the_o faithful_a do_v give_v for_o that_o feel_a sin_n they_o do_v most_o earnest_o desire_v to_o be_v deliver_v from_o it_o and_o in_o this_o feel_n &_o knowledge_n of_o sin_n the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n consist_v so_o that_o even_o in_o sin_n there_o be_v no_o sin_n that_o be_v albeit_o i_o do_v both_o acknowledge_v and_o feel_v sin_n they_o though_o the_o godly_a have_v sin_n in_o they_o and_o feel_v the_o grievousnes_n thereof_o yet_o it_o do_v not_o hurt_v they_o yet_o salvation_n and_o the_o kingdom_n do_v so_o firm_o abide_v in_o my_o conscience_n that_o god_n say_v unto_o i_o i_o will_v forgive_v thou_o thy_o sin_n for_o that_o thou_o have_v faith_n and_o believe_v in_o christ_n my_o especial_o belove_a son_n who_o be_v deliver_v to_o death_n for_o thou_o neither_o shall_v thy_o sin_n hurt_v thou_o other_o which_o feel_v not_o their_o sin_n but_o trust_v in_o their_o work_n and_o complain_v nothing_o of_o their_o fault_n and_o offence_n think_v themselves_o clean_a such_o be_v give_v to_o satan_n &_o not_o receive_v or_o admit_v into_o the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n for_o they_o which_o be_v partaker_n of_o this_o kingdom_n can_v not_o be_v without_o conflict_n and_o tribulation_n 118.18_o death_n satan_n and_o the_o world_n do_v somewhat_o trouble_v the_o godly_a but_o the_o godly_a at_o the_o last_o overcome_v they_o psal_n 118.18_o and_o that_o i_o may_v speak_v more_o plain_o reckon_v i_o pray_v thou_o any_o of_o the_o saint_n who_o death_n do_v not_o trouble_v yea_o i_o know_v thou_o shall_v not_o find_v one_o which_o be_v not_o afraid_a and_o tremble_v not_o at_o the_o horrible_a sight_n of_o death_n but_o the_o conscience_n take_v comfort_n here_o by_o the_o prophet_n david_n who_o say_v the_o lord_n have_v chastened_a and_o correct_v i_o but_o he_o have_v not_o give_v i_o over_o unto_o death_n it_o fight_v against_o we_o in_o deed_n but_o it_o prevail_v not_o thus_o a_o christian_a wrap_v in_o sin_n be_v both_o under_o sin_n and_o above_o sin_n &_o at_o the_o last_o notwithstanding_o obtain_v the_o victory_n after_o the_o same_o sort_n also_o must_v he_o have_v to_o do_v with_o satan_n with_o who_o he_o must_v wrestle_v all_o his_o life_n and_o at_o the_o last_o overcome_v he_o so_o in_o the_o world_n also_o he_o must_v suffer_v many_o conflict_n and_o trouble_n and_o yet_o at_o length_n become_v victor_n for_o although_o it_o be_v a_o kingdom_n of_o salvation_n which_o have_v neither_o rest_n nor_o quietness_n but_o suffer_v the_o force_n of_o hell_n death_n the_o devil_n sin_n and_o all_o manner_n of_o adversity_n and_o tribulation_n yet_o they_o which_o be_v in_o it_o do_v with_o a_o invincible_a courage_n endure_v and_o at_o length_n overcome_v all_o evil_n but_o god_n therefore_o permit_v these_o thing_n that_o our_o faith_n may_v be_v exercise_v and_o show_v forth_o itself_o moreover_o that_o be_v a_o pleasure_n to_o the_o conscience_n and_o bring_v unto_o it_o comfort_n and_o joy_n that_o it_o have_v such_o a_o kingdom_n that_o it_o may_v say_v bless_a be_v the_o lord_n god_n who_o have_v visit_v and_o redeem_v we_o and_o have_v raise_v up_o a_o kingdom_n in_o the_o house_n of_o david_n that_o be_v for_o that_o he_o visit_v we_o by_o his_o word_n deliver_v we_o from_o sin_n and_o make_v we_o conqueror_n over_o death_n and_o satan_n thus_o he_o have_v hear_v both_o that_o a_o kingdom_n be_v raise_v up_o in_o the_o house_n of_o david_n and_o also_o that_o a_o christian_n be_v both_o dead_a and_o yet_o alive_a be_v innocent_a in_o the_o mid_n of_o sin_n and_o although_o he_o be_v subject_a to_o satan_n yet_o notwithstanding_o have_v dominion_n over_o satan_n for_o both_o be_v true_a for_o that_o sin_n death_n hell_n do_v assail_v the_o flesh_n but_o do_v not_o overcome_v forasmuch_o as_o this_o kingdom_n of_o salvation_n triumph_v over_o they_o all_o wherefore_o as_o it_o be_v with_o a_o certain_a great_a boldness_n or_o confidence_n he_o call_v it_o a_o horn_n that_o be_v a_o strong_a and_o puissant_a kingdom_n which_o have_v no_o rest_n or_o truce_n but_o be_v assail_v of_o many_o and_o strong_a enemy_n be_v always_o diligent_o occupy_v in_o defence_n of_o itself_o and_o do_v notable_o repel_v the_o force_n of_o the_o enemy_n so_o a_o christian_a lay_v hold_n on_o this_o horn_n overthrow_v sin_n death_n and_o satan_n neither_o consist_v this_o horn_n in_o our_o strength_n neither_o be_v we_o maker_n thereof_o for_o god_n have_v make_v and_o raise_v it_o up_o by_o the_o ministry_n of_o his_o word_n whereby_o we_o be_v save_v wherefore_o zacharias_n so_o sing_v that_o his_o song_n have_v respect_n not_o to_o his_o own_o son_n but_o to_o christ_n yea_o he_o celebrate_v this_o kingdom_n as_o pertain_v to_o the_o jew_n only_o and_o declare_v that_o it_o shall_v be_v glorious_a and_o make_v no_o mention_n of_o the_o gentile_n how_o they_o also_o so_o manifest_o verse_n 71._o that_o he_o will_v deliver_v we_o from_o our_o enemy_n and_o from_o the_o hand_n of_o all_o that_o hate_v us._n the_o evangelist_n have_v hitherto_o general_o rehearse_v what_o that_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n be_v whereof_o the_o prophet_n prophesy_v consist_v wherein_o this_o kingdom_n of_o salvation_n consist_v now_o he_o speak_v of_o it_o also_o but_o particular_o no_o other_o be_v to_o be_v look_v for_o of_o we_o but_o to_o be_v hate_v of_o they_o that_o also_o the_o force_n quality_n and_o nature_n of_o this_o kingdom_n consist_v in_o this_o that_o it_o deliver_v we_o out_o of_o the_o hand_n of_o all_o they_o that_o hate_v we_o as_o the_o prophet_n david_n say_v psal_n 110._o the_o lord_n shall_v send_v the_o rod_n of_o thy_o power_n out_o of_o zion_n be_v thou_o ruler_n in_o the_o mid_n of_o thy_o enemy_n and_o psal_n 45._o thy_o arrow_n be_v very_o sharp_a even_o in_o the_o mid_n of_o the_o king_n enemy_n it_o be_v a_o delight_n unto_o christ_n
father_n be_v know_v in_o the_o son_n there_o do_v yet_o happen_v a_o grosser_n thing_n in_o philip_n who_o burst_v forth_o and_o will_v not_o be_v content_a with_o faith_n but_o will_v know_v the_o thing_n assure_o by_o feeling_n and_o see_v wherefore_o he_o say_v unto_o the_o lord_n lord_n show_v we_o thy_o father_n and_o it_o suffice_v us._n as_o though_o he_o will_v say_v if_o thou_o will_v also_o show_v unto_o we_o a_o sign_n then_o will_v we_o believe_v philip_n count_v it_o not_o sufficient_a to_o believe_v the_o word_n but_o go_v about_o to_o come_v to_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o father_n by_o a_o other_o mean_v then_o by_o the_o word_n for_o see_v that_o reason_n can_v not_o believe_v he_o reque_v to_o be_v certify_v by_o a_o other_o mean_n and_o way_n by_o the_o interrogation_n therefore_o of_o christ_n that_o follow_v it_o be_v show_v that_o the_o conscience_n be_v make_v certain_a and_o quiet_a by_o no_o other_o thing_n then_o by_o faith_n for_o that_o we_o must_v cleave_v to_o the_o bare_a word_n and_o look_v for_o no_o other_o sign_n but_o philip_n think_v here_o that_o he_o shall_v be_v much_o more_o certify_v if_o he_o do_v see_v the_o father_n then_o if_o he_o believe_v the_o simple_a and_o bare_a word_n this_o incredulity_n christ_n reprove_v somewhat_o sharp_o and_o say_v have_v i_o be_v so_o long_a time_n with_o you_o &_o have_v thou_o not_o know_v i_o as_o though_o he_o shall_v say_v i_o teach_v and_o preach_v and_o yet_o thou_o know_v i_o not_o do_v thou_o not_o know_v that_o the_o father_n will_v be_v know_v by_o i_o that_o my_o word_n be_v the_o word_n and_o power_n of_o the_o father_n by_o which_o alone_o he_o will_v be_v know_v and_o by_o nothing_o else_o for_o thou_o have_v hear_v the_o voice_n of_o the_o father_n from_o heaven_n after_o this_o sort_n this_o be_v my_o belove_a son_n in_o who_o i_o be_o well_o please_v hear_v he_o do_v thou_o not_o yet_o understande_v how_o the_o father_n be_v know_v the_o father_n be_v not_o see_v with_o carnal_a eye_n as_o john_n in_o his_o first_o chapter_n say_v 1.18_o joh._n 1.18_o no_o man_n have_v see_v god_n at_o any_o time_n the_o only_o beget_v son_n which_o be_v in_o the_o bosom_n of_o the_o father_n he_o have_v declare_v he_o wherefore_o the_o lord_n say_v to_o philip_n philip_n he_o that_o have_v see_v i_o have_v see_v the_o father_n this_o say_n be_v like_a unto_o that_o former_a when_o he_o say_v if_o you_o have_v know_v i_o you_o shall_v have_v know_v my_o father_n also_o that_o be_v forasmuch_o as_o the_o father_n will_v be_v know_v by_o i_o seek_v and_o shall_v feel_v he_o to_o be_v comfortable_a and_o gracious_a the_o father_n will_v have_v my_o word_n to_o be_v believe_v and_o they_o that_o believe_v it_o to_o be_v save_v and_o obtain_v eternal_a life_n see_v therefore_o that_o these_o thing_n be_v thus_o that_o we_o can_v not_o know_v the_o father_n but_o in_o the_o son_n and_o when_o we_o know_v the_o son_n we_o know_v also_o the_o father_n the_o lord_n say_v moreover_o unto_o philip_n how_o then_o say_v thou_o show_v we_o thy_o father_n believe_v thou_o not_o that_o i_o be_o in_o the_o father_n and_o the_o father_n be_v in_o i_o as_o if_o he_o will_v say_v forasmuch_o as_o there_o be_v no_o other_o way_n to_o know_v the_o father_n but_o that_o which_o i_o have_v show_v why_o i_o pray_v thou_o do_v thou_o not_o believe_v the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o son_n even_o therefore_o for_o that_o the_o son_n be_v in_o the_o father_n and_o the_o father_n in_o the_o son_n for_o the_o word_n by_o which_o the_o son_n be_v know_v be_v the_o power_n of_o the_o son_n and_o of_o the_o father_n wherefore_o see_v the_o son_n be_v know_v by_o his_o word_n it_o necessary_o follow_v that_o the_o father_n also_o be_v know_v thereby_o believe_v i_o that_o i_o be_o in_o the_o father_n and_o the_o father_n be_v in_o i_o at_o the_o least_o believe_v i_o for_o the_o very_a work_n sake_n here_o he_o do_v as_o it_o be_v appeal_v to_o work_n that_o they_o may_v give_v testimony_n of_o the_o word_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v see_v that_o you_o can_v not_o be_v content_a to_o believe_v the_o word_n at_o the_o least_o believe_v the_o sign_n which_o bear_v witness_v of_o the_o word_n and_o whereby_o the_o father_n have_v give_v testimony_n of_o i_o for_o the_o work_n and_o sign_n be_v testimony_n of_o the_o word_n by_o these_o word_n christ_n mean_v nothing_o else_o but_o to_o confirm_v the_o conscience_n of_o his_o disciple_n and_o of_o all_o we_o against_o the_o offence_n of_o the_o cross_n for_o conscience_n will_v know_v and_o not_o believe_v the_o bare_a word_n of_o god_n but_o do_v always_o doubt_v and_o say_v what_o if_o god_n care_v not_o for_o thou_o and_o have_v such_o like_a cogitation_n holy_a &_o godly_a man_n seem_v for_o the_o most_o part_n to_o be_v neglect_v as_o abject_n and_o most_o contemptible_a man_n inasmuch_o as_o the_o world_n according_a to_o the_o will_n &_o lust_n thereof_o rage_v and_o practise_v tyranny_n against_o they_o and_o do_v almost_o what_o it_o listen_v hereupon_o they_o be_v in_o anguish_n &_o in_o danger_n of_o faith_n &_o desire_v to_o know_v the_o will_n of_o god_n towards_o they_o these_o christ_n comfort_v that_o they_o may_v seek_v no_o other_o comfort_n but_o in_o he_o and_o in_o his_o death_n and_o believe_v that_o he_o be_v life_n that_o he_o bear_v rule_v and_o make_v alive_a they_o that_o be_v dead_a and_o that_o they_o shall_v nothing_o doubt_v hereof_o he_o make_v they_o yet_o more_o certain_a and_o say_v very_o very_o i_o say_v unto_o you_o he_o that_o believe_v in_o i_o the_o work_n that_o i_o do_v he_o shall_v do_v also_o and_o great_a than_o these_o shall_v he_o do_v as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v doubt_v not_o any_o thing_n but_o that_o you_o shall_v know_v the_o father_n by_o i_o and_o that_o my_o word_n be_v the_o power_n of_o god_n &_o that_o by_o my_o word_n you_o shall_v be_v sustain_v although_o i_o be_v even_o crucify_v you_o shall_v have_v trial_n hereof_o in_o yourselves_o for_o if_o you_o believe_v in_o i_o you_o shall_v not_o only_o work_v such_o work_n and_o show_v such_o sign_n as_o i_o do_v but_o even_o great_a which_o come_v to_o pass_v after_o the_o ascension_n of_o christ_n when_o the_o apostle_n wrought_v great_a miracle_n as_o well_o among_o the_o jew_n as_o gentile_n than_o christ_n himself_o but_o what_o be_v the_o cause_n hereof_o the_o lord_n himself_o add_v it_o say_v for_o i_o go_v unto_o my_o father_n that_o be_v i_o will_v begin_v a_o kingdom_n where_o i_o will_v fulfil_v all_o thing_n here_o the_o lord_n annex_v the_o conclusion_n of_o all_o the_o question_n and_o consolation_n go_v before_o for_o a_o little_a before_o christ_n have_v teach_v that_o the_o father_n be_v know_v by_o he_o and_o that_o be_v because_o he_o be_v in_o the_o father_n he_o therefore_o be_v show_v by_o that_o word_n by_o which_o the_o father_n be_v show_v but_o that_o he_o may_v confirm_v this_o to_o wit_n that_o his_o word_n be_v the_o power_n of_o the_o father_n he_o add_v and_o say_v he_o that_o believe_v in_o i_o the_o work_n that_o i_o do_v he_o shall_v do_v also_o that_o be_v by_o faith_n in_o i_o you_o also_o shall_v do_v those_o work_n and_o know_v that_o my_o word_n be_v the_o virtue_n and_o power_n of_o god_n but_o why_o do_v he_o say_v i_o go_v to_o the_o father_n i_o answer_v because_o christ_n be_v in_o the_o father_n therefore_o do_v he_o the_o work_n of_o the_o father_n but_o we_o do_v they_o not_o also_o therefore_o but_o for_o that_o christ_n who_o be_v in_o the_o father_n be_v now_o in_o us._n for_o to_o go_v to_o the_o father_n be_v to_o fulfil_v all_o thing_n &_o as_o paul_n according_a to_o the_o say_n of_o the_o psalm_n declare_v to_o give_v gift_n unto_o man_n to_o lighten_v and_o to_o sanctify_v for_o this_o be_v the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n whereby_o he_o reign_v in_o earth_n in_o the_o heart_n of_o the_o believer_n and_o sit_v upon_o the_o throne_n of_o his_o father_n david_n the_o lord_n also_o speak_v these_o word_n i_o go_v to_o the_o father_n to_o comfort_v his_o disciple_n for_o as_o he_o do_v before_o begin_v to_o confirm_v they_o that_o they_o shall_v not_o be_v trouble_v and_o offend_v although_o he_o shall_v dye_v but_o courageous_o cleave_v to_o he_o and_o believe_v in_o he_o so_o here_o he_o promise_v they_o that_o they_o shall_v be_v glorify_v for_o he_o go_v to_o the_o father_n who_o shall_v deliver_v all_o thing_n into_o his_o hand_n that_o he_o may_v mighty_o obtain_v a_o kingdom_n over_o all_o thing_n that_o be_v in_o heaven_n and_o earth_n wherefore_o they_o ought_v nothing_o at_o all_o to_o fear_v he_z yet_o comfort_v they_o more_o and_o say_v and_o whatsoever_o you_o ask_v in_o my_o name_n that_o will_v i_o do_v as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v as_o soon_o as_o i_o come_v to_o the_o father_n there_o be_v no_o cause_n why_o you_o shall_v be_v careful_a for_o those_o thing_n that_o you_o have_v need_n of_o and_o ask_v you_o shall_v obtain_v i_o will_v do_v this_o for_o you_o because_o i_o obtain_v a_o kingdom_n and_o he_o peculiar_o add_v in_o my_o name_n whereby_o he_o exclude_v all_o our_o merit_n for_o by_o christ_n we_o be_v hear_v as_o also_o in_o christ_n we_o be_v love_v by_o who_o also_o we_o be_v priest_n as_o peter_n say_v to_o offer_v up_o spiritual_a sacrifice_n and_o acceptable_a to_o god_n all_o these_o thing_n say_v christ_n i_o will_v do_v for_o this_o cause_n that_o the_o father_n may_v be_v glorify_v in_o the_o son_n the_o father_n be_v then_o glorify_v when_o glory_n be_v give_v and_o ascribe_v unto_o he_o not_o unto_o us._n that_o be_v when_o we_o acknowledge_v the_o we_o be_v save_v not_o by_o our_o own_o merit_n not_o by_o our_o own_o wisdom_n and_o righteousness_n but_o do_v put_v our_o trust_n in_o his_o mercy_n for_o he_o have_v give_v his_o son_n for_o our_o sin_n and_o whatsoever_o we_o purpose_v to_o ask_v we_o must_v ask_v it_o by_o this_o god_n by_o he_o we_o be_v instruct_v in_o all_o truth_n and_o consequent_o by_o he_o we_o obtain_v divine_a and_o heavenly_a wisdom_n here_o also_o shall_v he_o learn_v that_o christ_n be_v make_v under_o the_o law_n that_o he_o may_v redeem_v they_o which_o be_v in_o bondage_n under_o the_o law_n &_o of_o servile_a bondman_n make_v they_o free_a son_n even_o the_o child_n of_o god_n furthermore_o if_o grief_n and_o heaviness_n come_v upon_o he_o he_o be_v here_o teach_v where_o true_a joy_n may_v be_v have_v even_o in_o christ_n jesus_n alone_o that_o in_o he_o only_o he_o may_v find_v sure_a comfort_n sovereign_a medicine_n present_a remedy_n true_a joy_n of_o heart_n and_o quietness_n of_o conscience_n final_o whereas_o we_o be_v synnefull_a and_o have_v by_o our_o sin_n up_o in_o the_o house_n of_o david_n for_o he_o be_v bear_v of_o the_o tribe_n of_o levi_n but_o christ_n our_o lord_n be_v of_o the_o house_n and_o of_o the_o royal_a stock_n and_o blood_n of_o david_n wherefore_o zacharias_n do_v not_o singe_v here_o in_o the_o house_n of_o levi_n but_o that_o in_o the_o house_n of_o david_n a_o horn_n be_v raise_v and_o lift_v up_o and_o when_o christ_n to_o this_o language_n now_o zacharias_n signify_v that_o christ_n be_v our_o head_n yea_o our_o god_n who_o kingdom_n be_v his_o horn_n he_o add_v the_o horn_n of_o salvation_n or_o blessedness_n up_o what_o difference_n there_o be_v between_o other_o kingdom_n &_o the_o kingdom_n of_o salvation_n which_o god_n have_v raise_v up_o some_o kingdom_n be_v famous_a in_o name_n and_o power_n other_o be_v large_a abound_v with_o plenty_n of_o great_a treasure_n much_o people_n honour_n and_o all_o temporal_a thing_n but_o this_o be_v call_v a_o kingdom_n of_o salvation_n grace_n life_n righteousness_n truth_n and_o of_o every_o thing_n that_o pertain_v to_o salvation_n whereby_o it_o differ_v from_o all_o other_o kingdom_n for_o albeit_o they_o be_v large_a scotfree_a or_o mighty_a yet_o be_v they_o count_v the_o kingdom_n of_o death_n for_o they_o that_o govern_v they_o must_v at_o the_o last_o fall_n die_v perish_v and_o leave_v their_o power_n and_o riches_n behind_o they_o neither_o be_v there_o ever_o any_o worldly_a kingdom_n which_o may_v be_v call_v a_o kingdom_n of_o life_n wherein_o be_v life_n peace_n and_o salvation_n for_o only_o the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n do_v glory_n and_o triumph_v in_o this_o title_n inasmuch_o as_o god_n have_v raise_v it_o uppe_o that_o there_o may_v be_v nothing_o in_o it_o but_o salvation_n and_o felicity_n moreover_o i_o find_v nothing_o here_o speak_v of_o manner_n and_o trade_n of_o life_n or_o of_o work_n for_o this_o kingdom_n consist_v neither_o in_a outward_a life_n nor_o work_n but_o in_o the_o horn_n in_o christ_n and_o his_o gospel_n this_o kingdom_n be_v we_o whereof_o you_o have_v hear_v that_o it_o be_v a_o kingdom_n of_o grace_n life_n righteousness_n salvation_n and_o mercy_n so_o that_o whosoever_o be_v in_o it_o although_o he_o be_v inferior_a to_o john_n in_o holiness_n and_o far_o unlike_o christ_n in_o perfection_n yet_o he_o live_v in_o a_o kingdom_n wherein_o be_v nothing_o but_o salvation_n and_o blessedness_n whereof_o also_o it_o have_v and_o reserve_v the_o name_n it_o be_v say_v moreover_o that_o this_o kingdom_n be_v raise_v up_o in_o the_o house_n of_o david_n but_o by_o what_o mean_n be_v it_o raise_v up_o even_o by_o the_o holy_a ghost_n and_o by_o his_o word_n he_o say_v in_o the_o house_n of_o david_n for_o it_o must_v be_v a_o kingdom_n in_o the_o earth_n and_o yet_o a_o kingdom_n of_o salvation_n now_o confer_v these_o two_o one_o with_o a_o other_o the_o house_n of_o david_n be_v the_o tribe_n and_o stock_n of_o david_n who_o be_v a_o man_n as_o the_o subject_n of_o his_o kingdom_n so_o that_o thou_o can_v not_o say_v that_o he_o do_v here_o make_v mention_n of_o a_o heavenly_a kingdom_n among_o the_o angel_n when_o as_o he_o do_v nothing_o less_o but_o he_o speak_v of_o a_o certain_a kingdom_n which_o be_v among_o man_n which_o live_v clothe_v with_o flesh_n david_n be_v a_o man_n the_o subject_n of_o his_o kingdom_n also_o be_v man_n subject_a to_o death_n for_o as_o the_o scripture_n witness_v man_n that_o be_v bear_v of_o a_o woman_n live_v but_o a_o small_a time_n he_o can_v not_o pass_v the_o bound_n appoint_v he_o how_o be_v it_o then_o that_o honour_n and_o dishonour_n come_v together_o in_o this_o kingdom_n what_o agreement_n and_o consent_n appear_v here_o where_o mortal_a man_n be_v deliver_v from_o the_o power_n of_o death_n where_o they_o that_o be_v worthy_a of_o death_n enjoy_v life_n the_o unhappy_a be_v happy_a and_o they_o that_o be_v subject_a to_o satan_n become_v the_o son_n of_o god_n in_o the_o reason_n hereof_o i_o hope_v that_o you_o be_v sufficient_o instruct_v yea_o i_o think_v that_o you_o understand_v it_o as_o well_o as_o i_o myself_o but_o because_o the_o text_n so_o require_v it_o must_v be_v eftsoon_o repeat_v satan_n a_o christian_a be_v deliver_v from_o death_n sin_n &_o satan_n we_o have_v affirm_v therefore_o that_o a_o christian_n which_o live_v in_o this_o kingdom_n shall_v never_o dye_v forasmuch_o as_o he_o can_v not_o dye_v for_o christ_n have_v therefore_o suffer_v death_n that_o he_o may_v overcome_v death_n and_o deliver_v we_o from_o it_o he_o take_v our_o sin_n also_o upon_o himself_o that_o we_o may_v not_o need_v to_o bear_v they_o moreover_o he_o subdue_v and_o overthrow_v satan_n that_o we_o may_v not_o be_v subject_a unto_o he_o wherefore_o it_o be_v give_v to_o a_o christian_n that_o he_o can_v never_o dye_v he_o can_v never_o be_v subject_a to_o sin_n and_o the_o devil_n for_o that_o must_v needs_o be_v true_a which_o he_o say_v that_o he_o nor_o the_o devil_n and_o that_o in_o the_o house_n of_o david_n wherefore_o a_o christian_a be_v both_o defile_v and_o yet_o without_o sin_n why_o a_o christian_a after_o a_o sort_n subject_n to_o
death_n sin_n and_o satan_n &_o why_o and_o free_a from_o satan_n how_o come_v this_o to_o pass_v after_o this_o sort_n your_o brotherly_a charity_n have_v oftentimes_o hear_v heretofore_o that_o god_n leave_v in_o we_o a_o appearance_n and_o feel_n of_o death_n and_o the_o devil_n so_o that_o my_o sin_n disquiet_v i_o and_o trouble_v my_o conscience_n and_o will_v drive_v i_o unto_o desperation_n moreover_o the_o judgement_n of_o god_n terrifi_v i_o death_n assail_v i_o as_o if_o it_o will_v devour_v i_o satan_n be_v at_o hand_n and_o seek_v to_o suppress_v i_o god_n suffer_v these_o to_o remain_v &_o take_v they_o not_o quite_o away_o for_o this_o appearance_n must_v continue_v that_o we_o may_v perceive_v and_o feel_v that_o we_o be_v nothing_o else_o of_o ourselves_o but_o sinner_n subject_a to_o sin_n and_o satan_n and_o yet_o under_o this_o appearance_n lie_v hide_v life_n innocence_n and_o dominion_n and_o victory_n over_o sin_n satan_n hell_n &c_n &c_n as_o christ_n himself_o say_v matth._n 16._o thou_o be_v peter_n and_o upon_o this_o rock_n will_v i_o build_v my_o church_n &_o the_o gate_n of_o hell_n shall_v not_o prevail_v against_o it_o he_o say_v not_o they_o shall_v not_o assail_v it_o nor_o fight_v against_o it_o for_o these_o two_o remain_v to_o sin_n and_o death_n now_o it_o be_v also_o expedient_a that_o i_o feel_v the_o bite_n of_o sin_n the_o terror_n of_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n the_o horror_n of_o death_n yea_o and_o death_n itself_o but_o all_o this_o be_v a_o certain_a outward_a appearance_n before_o my_o sight_n and_o the_o sight_n of_o the_o world_n satan_n the_o comfort_n of_o christian_n against_o sin_n death_n and_o satan_n which_o know_v and_o judge_v none_o otherwise_o but_o that_o sin_n death_n and_o satan_n be_v present_a notwithstanding_o in_o the_o mean_a season_n under_o that_o assault_n and_o terror_n the_o word_n and_o spirit_n be_v encourage_v i_o preserve_v i_o &_o assure_v i_o that_o god_n be_v not_o angry_a with_o i_o that_o my_o sin_n be_v forgive_v i_o that_o i_o shall_v neither_o dye_v nor_o be_v forsake_v upon_o this_o foundation_n &_o hope_v my_o hart_n do_v whole_o rest_n and_o no_o man_n have_v such_o a_o confidence_n in_o god_n remain_v under_o sin_n neither_o be_v drown_v in_o death_n but_o be_v make_v a_o conqueror_n of_o sin_n and_o death_n this_o be_v not_o to_o prevail_v or_o according_a to_o the_o manner_n of_o all_o flesh_n and_o blood_n and_o yet_o notwithstanding_o the_o horn_n of_o salvation_n be_v raise_v up_o in_o the_o same_o faith_n the_o kingdom_n of_o faith_n that_o man_n of_o that_o kingdom_n may_v enjoy_v salvation_n and_o felicity_n hereby_o you_o see_v that_o this_o kingdom_n be_v the_o kingdom_n of_o faith_n which_o can_v not_o be_v touch_v nor_o outward_o perceive_v of_o any_o which_o one_o can_v not_o show_v to_o a_o other_o but_o every_o one_o must_v have_v it_o in_o himself_o that_o when_o he_o shall_v draw_v near_o unto_o death_n shall_v feel_v sin_n or_o even_o see_v death_n before_o he_o he_o may_v then_o in_o faith_n lie_v hold_v on_o this_o kingdom_n &_o believe_v that_o his_o sin_n be_v forgive_v he_o for_o christ_n therefore_o die_v that_o thou_o may_v be_v in_o this_o kingdom_n of_o faith_n wherefore_o sin_n shall_v encounter_v with_o thou_o in_o vain_a death_n be_v take_v away_o christ_n be_v with_o thou_o who_o can_v innocence_n do_v overcome_v and_o conquer_v this_o be_v soon_o speak_v but_o not_o so_o easy_o feel_v yea_o the_o contrary_a sure_o be_v rather_o feel_v wherefore_o if_o thou_o will_v esteem_v and_o consider_v this_o kingdom_n according_a to_o the_o judgement_n of_o the_o world_n thou_o shall_v utter_o err_v and_o be_v deceive_v the_o world_n call_v that_o a_o good_a &_o peaceable_a kingdom_n where_o all_o thing_n be_v quiet_a prosperous_a and_o go_v well_o forward_o where_o be_v safety_n peace_n and_o innocence_n outward_o but_o here_o be_v the_o kingdom_n of_o salvation_n and_o grace_n although_o it_o always_o appear_v otherwise_o wherefore_o all_o these_o thing_n be_v to_o be_v understand_v in_o spirit_n and_o faith_n &_o not_o to_o be_v judge_v according_a to_o the_o person_n or_o outward_a appearance_n neither_o ought_v it_o to_o seem_v strange_a that_o this_o kingdom_n do_v flourish_v in_o the_o mid_n of_o sin_n the_o force_n of_o satan_n &_o death_n whereof_o zacharias_n here_o sing_v even_o from_o the_o bottom_n of_o his_o hart_n and_o know_v well_o how_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v faith_n and_o the_o spirit_n reveal_v it_o concern_v sin_n i_o have_v see_v or_o know_v none_o in_o who_o it_o be_v not_o 7.18_o even_o the_o most_o holy_a be_v not_o free_a from_o sin_n rom._n 7.18_o whosoever_o thou_o set_v before_o thou_o sin_n will_v by_o and_o by_o appear_v paul_n only_o repress_v and_o keep_v they_o under_o when_o we_o have_v fall_v into_o sin_n we_o rise_v again_o but_o as_o long_o as_o we_o be_v clothe_v with_o this_o flesh_n and_o bear_v the_o burden_n thereof_o about_o with_o we_o so_o long_a sin_n be_v not_o extinguish_v nor_o can_v be_v whole_o subdue_v we_o may_v well_o go_v about_o and_o endeavour_n to_o subdue_v it_o notwithstanding_o old_a adam_n will_v lead_v his_o life_n also_o until_o he_o shall_v dye_v and_o come_v unto_o the_o grave_n what_o shall_v i_o need_v to_o say_v any_o more_o the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n be_v a_o certain_a special_a kingdom_n wherein_o every_o one_o of_o the_o saint_n be_v compel_v to_o make_v this_o confession_n almighty_a god_n unto_o who_o power_n all_o thing_n acknowledge_v themselves_o subject_a i_o confess_v myself_o to_o be_v a_o miserable_a sinner_n revenge_v not_o i_o beseech_v thou_o my_o old_a iniquity_n al_n also_o must_v sing_v this_o song_n our_o father_n etc._n etc._n forgive_v we_o our_o trespass_n as_o we_o forgive_v they_o that_o trespass_n against_o us._n other_o righteous_a &_o holy_a one_o which_o know_v no_o measure_n or_o end_n of_o their_o righteousness_n and_o holiness_n do_v understand_v nothing_o hereof_o and_o therefore_o this_o gospel_n be_v not_o preach_v unto_o they_o see_v that_o they_o think_v the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n to_o be_v such_o that_o there_o be_v no_o sin_n at_o all_o in_o it_o but_o that_o all_o thing_n in_o it_o be_v clean_a &_o pure_a they_o require_v such_o a_o christian_a as_o be_v whole_o clean_a from_o all_o filth_n of_o sin_n and_o without_o sin_n as_o christ_n himself_o such_o a_o one_o they_o shall_v never_o be_v able_a to_o find_v now_o he_o be_v a_o christian_n who_o be_v a_o sinner_n confess_v himself_o a_o sinner_n who_o hate_v the_o feel_n of_o sin_n strive_v against_o it_o from_o his_o hart_n he_o be_v not_o a_o christian_n which_o think_v that_o he_o have_v no_o sin_n neither_o feel_v any_o but_o if_o thou_o know_v any_o such_o he_o be_v a_o antichristian_a and_o not_o a_o true_a christian_a the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n therefore_o consist_v among_o sin_n it_o be_v establish_v there_o where_o he_o have_v set_v it_o that_o be_v in_o the_o house_n of_o david_n yea_o set_v david_n himself_o before_o your_o eye_n and_o you_o shall_v find_v he_o to_o have_v be_v a_o sinner_n who_o notwithstanding_o be_v bold_a to_o glory_n that_o he_o be_v a_o servant_n acceptable_a to_o his_o lord_n there_o be_v none_o of_o the_o faithful_a which_o ought_v to_o be_v ashamed_a of_o this_o thing_n sure_o i_o ought_v to_o glory_n of_o if_o i_o be_v a_o true_a christian_a but_o this_o seem_v difficult_a and_o hard_a god_n admit_v no_o sin_n my_o fearful_a and_o weak_a conscience_n be_v against_o i_o how_o be_o i_o his_o servant_n when_o as_o notwithstanding_o i_o feel_v in_o myself_o that_o i_o serve_v the_o devil_n and_o do_v not_o know_v that_o i_o be_o holy_a i_o speak_v not_o here_o of_o the_o common_a sort_n of_o christian_n such_o as_o i_o and_o such_o like_a be_v but_o of_o sincere_a christian_n which_o have_v a_o good_a conscience_n and_o in_o who_o heart_n the_o spirit_n of_o god_n abide_v who_o conscience_n albeit_o it_o be_v frail_a and_o weak_a and_o they_o feel_v their_o sin_n yet_o they_o be_v enforce_v to_o say_v howsoever_o sin_n be_v yet_o i_o know_v no_o sin_n by_o myself_o neither_o be_o i_o subject_a to_o death_n and_o hell_n and_o for_o this_o cause_n they_o strive_v and_o at_o the_o last_o overcome_v that_o therefore_o they_o will_v even_o die_v in_o that_o confidence_n but_o i_o find_v it_o far_o otherwise_o if_o i_o set_v my_o life_n before_o my_o sight_n here_o life_n and_o the_o word_n must_v be_v separate_v far_o asunder_o if_o thou_o will_v consider_v life_n i_o will_v set_v also_o before_o thou_o the_o life_n of_o s._n peter_n paul_n or_o john_n thou_o shall_v find_v even_o they_o not_o to_o have_v live_v without_o sin_n when_o thou_o desire_v to_o be_v holy_a before_o god_n god_n we_o must_v trust_v not_o to_o our_o life_n and_o work_n but_o to_o the_o mere_a mercy_n and_o grace_n of_o god_n trust_v not_o to_o thy_o life_n unless_o thou_o will_v perish_v for_o ever_o for_o thou_o must_v trust_v to_o only_a mercy_n and_o grace_n and_o not_o to_o life_n or_o work_n otherwise_o thy_o case_n will_v be_v very_o ill_a and_o holy_a but_o not_o by_o our_o own_o merit_n for_o we_o must_v glory_v of_o ourselves_o as_o of_o most_o desperate_a wretch_n and_o that_o this_o may_v be_v plain_a mark_v our_o life_n consider_v our_o good_a conversation_n and_o manner_n weigh_v how_o foolish_o man_n apply_v themselves_o to_o the_o gospel_n that_o i_o be_o almost_o in_o doubt_n whether_o i_o shall_v preach_v any_o more_o or_o no._n for_o as_o soon_o as_o these_o thing_n be_v teach_v in_o a_o sermon_n that_o salvation_n consist_v not_o in_o our_o work_n or_o life_n but_o in_o the_o gift_n of_o god_n every_o one_o be_v slow_a to_o do_v good_a no_o man_n will_v live_v a_o honest_a life_n and_o be_v any_o more_o obedient_a they_o false_o affirm_v every_o where_n that_o good_a work_n be_v inhibit_v nevertheless_o god_n require_v of_o we_o that_o we_o lead_v a_o honest_a life_n outward_o and_o he_o that_o do_v not_o so_o shall_v at_o length_n find_v his_o due_a punishment_n now_o if_o it_o happen_v that_o we_o live_v godly_o and_o honest_o outward_o satan_n by_o and_o by_o frame_v his_o wickedness_n neither_o do_v i_o know_v at_o this_o day_n how_o to_o order_v myself_o in_o this_o matter_n not_o because_o of_o my_o own_o person_n but_o because_o of_o life_n for_o if_o we_o preach_v of_o a_o honest_a and_o godly_a life_n the_o world_n by_o &_o by_o furious_o attempt_v without_o judgement_n life_n judgement_n they_z endeavour_n by_o their_o good_a work_n to_o attain_v to_o salvation_n we_o must_v neither_o presume_v of_o good_a work_n nor_o neglect_v to_o lead_v a_o godly_a life_n to_o build_v ladder_n to_o heaven_n which_o god_n neither_o can_v neither_o will_n by_o any_o mean_n suffer_v again_o a_o dishonest_a and_o ignominious_a life_n do_v not_o become_v christian_n neither_o do_v a_o delicate_a life_n become_v they_o what_o therefore_o must_v we_o then_o do_v they_z which_o have_v respect_n only_o to_o a_o honest_a and_o fair_a life_n it_o be_v better_o for_o they_o to_o be_v adulterer_n and_o adulteress_n and_o altogether_o to_o wallow_v in_o the_o mire_n and_o yet_o notwithstanding_o god_n will_v not_o have_v we_o to_o lead_v our_o life_n filthy_o and_o dishonest_o for_o neither_o can_v he_o suffer_v that_o adiudging_a thou_o even_o unto_o hell_n therefore_o if_o thou_o so_o do_v and_o if_o thou_o lead_v a_o honest_a life_n thou_o will_v stick_v in_o it_o and_o arrogate_v unto_o thyself_o which_o again_o he_o can_v not_o suffer_v thou_o must_v therefore_o so_o provide_v that_o thou_o remain_v in_o the_o middle_a path_n decline_v neither_o to_o the_o right_a hand_n at_o all_o by_o any_o force_n or_o power_n but_o by_o outward_a preach_v alone_o that_o be_v by_o the_o gospel_n and_o this_o gospel_n come_v not_o from_o man_n but_o jesus_n christ_n himself_o bring_v it_o and_o afterward_o put_v it_o into_o the_o heart_n of_o the_o apostle_n and_o their_o successor_n that_o they_o may_v comprehend_v it_o and_o into_o their_o mouth_n that_o they_o may_v speak_v and_o publish_v it_o hereby_o be_v his_o kingdom_n govern_v wherein_o he_o so_o reign_v that_o all_o the_o power_n thereof_o consist_v in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n now_o whosoever_o shall_v hear_v &_o believe_v this_o god_n the_o force_n &_o efficacy_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n do_v pertain_v to_o this_o kingdom_n moreover_o this_o word_n be_v afterward_o make_v so_o effectual_a go_v before_o say_v do_v make_v we_o only_a servant_n and_o be_v of_o no_o importance_n to_o godliness_n &_o salvation_n but_o that_o faith_n do_v make_v we_o the_o son_n of_o god_n &_o that_o from_o thence_o true_a good_a work_n do_v without_o constraint_n forth_o with_o most_o plentiful_o flow_v but_o here_o we_o must_v accustom_v ourselves_o to_o the_o word_n of_o the_o apostle_n of_o who_o paul_n call_v a_o servant_n and_o who_o a_o son_n in_o the_o text_n which_o be_v here_o entreat_v of_o he_o call_v he_o a_o servant_n that_o be_v occupy_v in_o work_n without_o faith_n whereof_o we_o have_v already_o entreat_v at_o large_a he_o call_v he_o a_o son_n which_o be_v righteous_a and_o live_v by_o faith_n alone_o without_o work_n the_o reason_n hereof_o be_v this_o this_o servant_n although_o he_o apply_v himself_o to_o good_a work_n yet_o he_o do_v it_o not_o with_o that_o mind_n with_o which_o a_o son_n do_v that_o be_v with_o a_o mind_n that_o be_v free_a willing_a &_o certain_a that_o the_o inheritance_n and_o all_o the_o good_a thing_n of_o the_o father_n be_v he_o but_o do_v it_o as_o he_o that_o be_v hire_v with_o a_o stipend_n in_o a_o other_o man_n house_n outward_a appearance_n but_o their_o mind_n do_v differ_v exceed_o much_o and_o their_o hope_n be_v nothing_o like_o even_o as_o christ_n himself_o say_v the_o servant_n abide_v not_o in_o the_o house_n for_o ever_o but_o the_o son_n abide_v for_o ever_o joh._n 8._o these_o of_o cain_n brood_n want_v the_o faith_n of_o son_n which_o they_o themselves_o confess_v for_o they_o think_v it_o a_o most_o absurd_a thing_n &_o wicked_a arrogancy_n to_o affirm_v themselves_o to_o be_v the_o son_n of_o god_n and_o holy_a therefore_o as_o they_o believe_v even_o so_o be_v they_o count_v before_o god_n they_o never_o become_v the_o son_n of_o god_n or_o holy_a nevertheless_o they_o be_v exercise_v with_o the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n and_o be_v well_o weary_v wherefore_o they_o be_v and_o remain_v servant_n for_o ever_o and_o they_o receive_v no_o other_o reward_n but_o these_o temporal_a thing_n namely_o quietness_n of_o life_n abundance_n of_o good_n dignity_n and_o honour_n etc._n etc._n which_o we_o see_v to_o be_v usual_a among_o the_o follower_n of_o popish_a religion_n than_o who_o there_o be_v none_o at_o this_o day_n that_o live_v more_o pleasaunt_o more_o welthy_o more_o glorious_o and_o honourable_o but_o this_o be_v their_o reward_n they_o be_v servant_n and_o not_o son_n wherefore_o in_o death_n they_o shall_v be_v thrust_v from_o all_o good_a thing_n neither_o shall_v any_o portion_n of_o eternal_a inheritance_n come_v unto_o they_o who_o in_o this_o present_a life_n will_v believe_v nothing_o thereof_o so_o therefore_o it_o be_v that_o servant_n and_o son_n be_v not_o much_o unlike_a in_o work_n but_o in_o mind_n and_o faith_n they_o be_v most_o unlike_a now_o the_o apostle_n endevour_v here_o to_o prove_v which_o in_o deed_n be_v the_o very_a alone_o do_v make_v we_o the_o son_n of_o god_n neither_o the_o law_n nor_o nature_n can_v give_v it_o only_o the_o gospel_n bring_v it_o when_o it_o be_v hear_v with_o a_o holy_a silence_n of_o give_v for_o this_o that_o we_o may_v learn_v by_o it_o how_o void_a we_o be_v of_o grace_n and_o how_o far_o from_o be_v of_o the_o mind_n of_o son_n yea_o that_o we_o be_v plain_o of_o a_o servile_a mind_n for_o we_o be_v leave_v to_o ourselves_o can_v in_o no_o wise_n be_v free_a from_o the_o law_n neither_o if_o we_o do_v any_o good_a thing_n do_v we_o it_o willing_o forasmuch_o as_o that_o faith_n of_o son_n be_v want_v wherewith_o he_o that_o be_v endue_v know_v assure_o that_o the_o eternal_a inheritance_n shall_v come_v unto_o he_o and_o be_v of_o his_o own_o accord_n incline_v and_o they_o not_o for_o himself_o who_o sure_o they_o can_v profit_v nothing_o he_o have_v no_o need_n of_o any_o thing_n but_o by_o they_o he_o lay_v up_o the_o treasure_n of_o salvation_n for_o we_o whereunto_o we_o shall_v trust_v and_o be_v make_v bless_v may_v enjoy_v it_o with_o which_o faith_n also_o the_o spirit_n of_o the_o son_n come_v which_o bear_v witness_n with_o our_o spirit_n that_o unknowen_a for_o unless_o thou_o do_v well_o understand_v the_o nature_n of_o faith_n thou_o shall_v perceive_v nothing_o or_o very_o little_a in_o the_o write_n of_o paul_n verse_n 6._o and_o the_o spirit_n we_o be_v change_v from_o servant_n unto_o the_o state_n of_o son_n so_o that_o the_o spirit_n must_v be_v first_o send_v unto_o we_o before_o we_o be_v son_n but_o here_o as_o though_o we_o can_v be_v son_n before_o the_o come_n of_o the_o spirit_n answer_n the_o answer_n he_o say_v because_o you_o be_v son_n etc._n etc._n to_o this_o question_n we_o must_v answer_v that_o paul_n speak_v here_o after_o the_o same_o sort_n that_o he_o
say_v prove_v if_o thou_o be_v a_o son_n thou_o be_v also_o a_o heir_n for_o it_o be_v say_v before_o that_o we_o become_v the_o son_n of_o god_n by_o faith_n without_o any_o work_n &_o therefore_o heir_n also_o as_o this_o place_n witness_v for_o by_o nature_n they_o that_o be_v son_n the_o same_o also_o be_v heir_n but_o if_o this_o inheritance_n of_o the_o father_n be_v now_o thy_o by_o faith_n sure_o thou_o be_v scotfree_a in_o all_o good_a thing_n before_o thou_o have_v wrought_v any_o thing_n for_o how_o shall_v it_o be_v that_o by_o faith_n thou_o be_v the_o heir_n of_o god_n we_o be_v a_o very_a great_a multitude_n we_o be_v here_o in_o the_o wide_a wilderness_n we_o have_v empty_a and_o hungry_a stomach_n here_o be_v nothing_o that_o be_v able_a to_o fill_v they_o howbeit_o they_o murmur_v of_o none_o of_o these_o thing_n but_o conceive_v a_o sure_a confidence_n reason_v nothing_o against_o god_n after_o the_o affection_n of_o man_n they_o commend_v themselves_o whole_o to_o the_o good_a will_n of_o god_n and_o commit_v unto_o he_o this_o urge_v necessity_n of_o hunger_n they_o themselves_o be_v quiet_a from_o all_o care_n then_o god_n before_o this_o care_n come_v upon_o they_o and_o before_o they_o begin_v to_o ask_v of_o he_o be_v present_a be_v more_o careful_a for_o they_o than_o they_o be_v for_o themselves_o &_o say_v on_o this_o sort_n i_o be_o move_v with_o compassion_n towards_o the_o multitude_n if_o i_o send_v they_o away_o fast_v it_o be_v a_o danger_n lest_o they_o faint_v by_o the_o way_n behold_v how_o gentle_a &_o do_v judge_v only_o according_a to_o humane_a reason_n and_o reason_n look_v unto_o that_o which_o be_v present_a but_o that_o which_o it_o see_v not_o it_o be_v not_o able_a to_o comprehend_v wherefore_o while_o it_o do_v not_o repose_v she_o trust_v by_o faith_n in_o god_n it_o be_v enforce_v to_o despeire_n which_o desperation_n afterward_o cause_v such_o naughty_a and_o wicked_a man_n behold_v thus_o it_o go_v out_o of_o frame_n with_o we_o when_o we_o commit_v ourselves_o to_o be_v rule_v not_o to_o faith_n but_o to_o our_o own_o reason_n moreover_o as_o you_o have_v now_o learned_a faith_n so_o must_v you_o also_o learn_v love_n for_o christ_n be_v set_v forth_o unto_o we_o in_o a_o double_a form_n in_o one_o of_o faith_n that_o we_o shall_v not_o be_v over_o careful_a in_o a_o other_o of_o love_n love_n christ_n a_o example_n of_o love_n that_o we_o may_v learn_v that_o as_o he_o have_v care_n of_o we_o give_v we_o meat_n drink_n apparel_z &_o that_o of_o mere_a &_o bountiful_a love_n not_o for_o his_o own_o commodity_n sake_n or_o because_o of_o our_o merit_n so_o also_o we_o ought_v to_o do_v well_o to_o our_o neighbour_n and_o that_o free_o only_o love_v move_v we_o thereunto_o that_o as_o christ_n be_v to_o we_o so_o we_o may_v be_v to_o our_o neighbour_n hereupon_o now_o we_o may_v perceive_v that_o all_o work_n of_o monk_n and_o nun_n be_v vain_a and_o to_o be_v utter_o disallow_v when_o they_o be_v not_o direct_v to_o that_o end_n that_o they_o may_v serve_v their_o neighbour_n but_o be_v ordain_v only_o unto_o this_o end_n that_o they_o may_v merit_v much_o at_o god_n hand_n by_o they_o for_o the_o true_a work_n of_o christian_n which_o they_o desire_v to_o be_v accept_v of_o god_n must_v be_v do_v so_o that_o they_o tend_v to_o the_o profit_n of_o our_o neighbour_n and_o not_o to_o this_o end_n that_o we_o shall_v think_v that_o we_o shall_v merit_v many_o thing_n of_o god_n by_o they_o they_o must_v be_v cheerful_o and_o detestable_a than_o that_o it_o can_v be_v express_v by_o the_o voice_n of_o man_n that_o god_n be_v not_o esteem_v of_o we_o so_o much_o as_o a_o little_a money_n why_o do_v thou_o not_o think_v here_o nor_o in_o the_o last_o judgement_n if_o i_o fear_v death_n and_o will_v not_o die_v willing_o in_o this_o christ_n i_o shall_v find_v comfort_n and_o remedy_n that_o i_o shall_v not_o great_o pass_v for_o death_n if_o because_o of_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n i_o be_v afraid_a he_o be_v my_o mediator_n and_o to_o be_v brief_a he_o that_o have_v not_o this_o christ_n the_o wrath_n of_o god_n always_o remain_v over_o he_o and_o in_o that_o state_n he_o stand_v wherefore_o he_o that_o desire_v to_o have_v a_o glad_a conscience_n obtain_v a_o glad_a conscience_n how_o it_o be_v obtain_v which_o be_v not_o afraid_a of_o sin_n death_n hell_n and_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n must_v take_v heed_n that_o he_o repose_v his_o trust_n in_o this_o mediator_n christ_n for_o he_o be_v a_o a_o right_a christian_a howbeit_o by_o receive_v only_o of_o christ_n and_o not_o by_o give_v it_o be_v a_o very_a rich_a and_o precious_a word_n which_o paul_n praise_v so_o great_o neither_o can_v he_o ever_o praise_v it_o sufficient_o whereby_o god_n so_o gentle_o offer_v his_o son_n that_o he_o may_v pour_v forth_o his_o grace_n upon_o all_o which_o do_v

these_o word_n there_o be_v dwell_v place_n to_o wit_n where_o the_o father_n glorifi_v but_o those_o dwell_a place_n be_v not_o yet_o prepare_v for_o that_o the_o kingdom_n of_o death_n be_v not_o heaven_n and_o earth_n by_o which_o death_n he_o have_v obtain_v the_o holy_a ghost_n for_o we_o which_o as_o be_v before_o say_v may_v prepare_v we_o unto_o these_o dwell_a place_n for_o through_o his_o operation_n and_o work_n in_o we_o he_o make_v we_o believe_v the_o gospel_n by_o which_o believe_v or_o faith_n we_o be_v prepare_v which_o can_v not_o be_v do_v if_o christ_n shall_v not_o depart_v and_o dye_v and_o so_o possess_v a_o kingdom_n over_o all_o this_o therefore_o be_v the_o sum_n of_o this_o text_n they_o be_v foresee_v who_o the_o father_n will_v glorify_v but_o they_o can_v not_o be_v glorify_v but_o by_o christ_n who_o unless_o he_o take_v away_o death_n and_o sin_n all_o shall_v be_v in_o vain_a here_o thou_o see_v that_o all_o tend_v unto_o this_o that_o comfort_n &_o confirmation_n that_o we_o shall_v not_o be_v by_o and_o by_o discourage_v when_o we_o have_v sometime_o stumble_v in_o faith_n and_o can_v not_o at_o the_o first_o apply_v ourselves_o to_o the_o work_n and_o word_n of_o the_o lord_n if_o this_o happen_v to_o these_o great_a man_n which_o afterward_o shall_v become_v pillar_n of_o christianity_n there_o be_v no_o cause_n true_o that_o any_o shall_v marvel_v if_o we_o also_o sometime_o faint_a in_o faith_n yea_o and_o let_v no_o man_n be_v afraid_a although_o it_o fall_v out_o that_o sometime_o through_o infirmity_n he_o so_o do_v it_o be_v the_o work_n and_o matter_n of_o the_o lord_n he_o will_v amend_v these_o thing_n when_o it_o seem_v good_a unto_o he_o now_o of_o the_o word_n we_o mind_v to_o entreat_v somewhat_o at_o large_a not_o much_o before_o when_o christ_n will_v confirm_v his_o disciple_n in_o faith_n he_o promise_v they_o that_o they_o shall_v be_v glorify_v here_o he_o add_v and_o declare_v how_o and_o by_o what_o mean_v they_o must_v be_v glorify_v affirm_v that_o that_o must_v be_v by_o his_o departure_n that_o be_v by_o his_o death_n &_o that_o by_o that_o mean_a he_o must_v obtain_v his_o kingdom_n this_o he_o have_v often_o repeat_v unto_o they_o so_o that_o now_o it_o do_v become_v they_o to_o know_v and_o understand_v it_o therefore_o he_o say_v whither_o i_o go_v you_o know_v and_o
