adam_n be_v subject_a to_o these_o yet_o god_n do_v not_o inflict_v they_o all_o upon_o any_o son_n of_o adam_n 4._o these_o punishment_n may_v be_v deserve_v by_o other_o sin_n against_o the_o law_n of_o nature_n which_o the_o gentile_n violate_v against_o the_o law_n of_o moses_n which_o the_o jew_n transgress_v against_o the_o gospel_n which_o christian_n violate_v and_o many_o of_o god_n own_o actual_o receive_v it_o in_o the_o first_o sense_n god_n take_v it_o from_o adam_n in_o the_o latter_a sense_n he_o deny_v it_o to_o all_o his_o posterity_n in_o what_o manner_n god_n be_v in_o this_o act_n to_o be_v consider_v or_o what_o be_v the_o reason_n why_o he_o do_v thus_o i_o do_v not_o here_o inquire_v passive_o consider_v it_o respect_v the_o subject_a from_o who_o it_o be_v take_v or_o to_o who_o iâ—'â—_n deny_v upon_o this_o deprivation_n follow_v a_o depravation_n in_o the_o moral_a and_o spiritual_a quality_n and_o of_o the_o act_n of_o the_o party_n deprive_v and_o this_o depravation_n be_v either_o negative_a or_o positive_a negative_a as_o ignorance_n positive_a as_o error_n in_o the_o understanding_n negative_a as_o no_o affection_n to_o good_a positive_a as_o inclination_n to_o evil_a in_o the_o will._n this_o depravation_n do_v not_o destroy_v the_o essence_n of_o man_n nor_o his_o quality_n nor_o his_o act_n but_o the_o perfection_n and_o excellency_n ennoble_v and_o perfect_a man_n and_o do_v depend_v both_o in_o fieri_fw-la &_o in_fw-la facto_fw-la as_o they_o speak_v upon_o a_o superior_a and_o intelligent-supernatural-tree_n agent_n who_o can_v give_v it_o &_o continue_v it_o as_o also_o upon_o cause_n take_v it_o away_o and_o if_o once_o the_o soul_n lose_v it_o upon_o demerit_n or_o any_o other_o way_n it_o be_v make_v imperfect_a defective_a and_o base_a and_o the_o inclination_n and_o motion_n be_v unworthy_a so_o noble_a a_o creature_n and_o so_o much_o the_o more_o because_o a_o superior_a spirit_n have_v power_n to_o delude_v and_o deceive_v the_o mind_n and_o incline_v the_o heart_n to_o evil_n this_o be_v the_o reason_n why_o so_o many_o be_v say_v to_o walk_v after_o the_o prince_n of_o the_o power_n of_o child_n of_o disobedience_n but_o §_o two_o second_o whether_o be_v this_o corruption_n which_o in_o scripture_n be_v call_v the_o flesh_n concupiscence_n sin_n the_o body_n of_o sin_n etc._n etc._n proper_o a_o sin_n that_o it_o be_v from_o sin_n call_v sin_n and_o be_v a_o cause_n of_o sin_n be_v general_o confess_v but_o that_o it_o be_v a_o sin_n in_o proper_a senâ—e_n be_v deny_v absolute_o not_o habit_n but_o yet_o this_o be_v not_o precise_o true_a because_o the_o law_n forbid_v to_o all_o such_o as_o be_v under_o a_o law_n not_o only_o the_o future_a evil_a act_n but_o also_o disposition_n and_o habit_n especial_o such_o as_o depend_v any_o way_n on_o acts._n but_o to_o give_v a_o more_o perfect_a resolve_v of_o this_o question_n §_o iii_o we_o must_v 1._o distinguish_v of_o sin_n habitual_a and_o actual_a and_o actual_a sin_n it_o be_v not_o 2._o we_o may_v consider_v it_o as_o it_o be_v in_o we_o by_o conception_n and_o birth_n and_o a_o natural_a habit_n if_o i_o may_v so_o speak_v or_o as_o improve_v and_o increase_v by_o many_o actual_a sin_n and_o so_o become_v a_o acquire_v vicious_a habit_n and_o thus_o in_o this_o latter_a sense_n paul_n seem_v to_o take_v it_o rom._n 7._o and_o elsewhere_o in_o this_o latter_a sense_n few_o will_v deny_v it_o to_o be_v sin_n and_o by_o the_o same_o reason_n it_o may_v be_v sin_n in_o the_o former_a sense_n 3._o we_o may_v conceive_v of_o this_o original_a corruption_n and_o the_o want_n of_o original_a righteousness_n as_o take_v away_o or_o deny_v upon_o a_o former_a demerit_n and_o so_o it_o be_v certain_o a_o punishment_n or_o absolute_o in_o itself_o as_o a_o quality_n disposition_n or_o habit_n inherent_a in_o we_o and_o so_o it_o be_v not_o proper_o a_o punishment_n but_o a_o sin_n yet_o it_o be_v
