be_v as_o burn_a cressette_n too_o we_o and_o we_o have_v the_o gospel_n which_o be_v yet_o a_o far_o great_a light_n yea_o even_o as_o it_o be_v the_o light_n of_o high_a noon_n you_o see_v then_o how_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n will_v be_v a_o sufficient_a light_n for_o we_o both_o in_o life_n and_o death_n so_o we_o look_v unto_o he_o but_o as_o i_o have_v touch_v heretofore_o we_o must_v first_o feel_v what_o disorder_n and_o confusion_n environ_v we_o round_o about_o until_o such_o time_n as_o jesus_n christ_n have_v reach_v we_o his_o hand_n furthermore_o when_o jesus_n christ_n consider_v not_o how_o our_o life_n be_v misguide_v when_o it_o be_v not_o put_v to_o the_o true_a use_n of_o of_o it_o so_o much_o the_o more_o than_o stand_v it_o we_o in_o hand_n to_o bethink_v not_o his_o free_a course_n and_o that_o it_o go_v not_o in_o his_o own_o pace_n but_o forasmuch_o as_o every_o man_n be_v a_o hangman_n to_o himself_o as_o i_o have_v say_v already_o and_o our_o his_o offspring_n be_v deprive_v and_o shut_v out_o from_o the_o grace_n that_o have_v be_v bestow_v upon_o he_o and_o whereof_o come_v that_o because_o we_o be_v all_o enclose_v within_o his_o maker_n of_o the_o world_n and_o setter_n up_o of_o thing_n that_o be_v destroy_v the_o wicked_a then_o may_v well_o have_v all_o this_o outward_a show_n but_o there_o shall_v be_v no_o continuance_n because_o they_o advance_v themselves_o against_o god_n but_o on_o the_o contraripart_n when_o we_o be_v undo_v and_o strip_v stark_o naked_a then_o will_v god_n show_v we_o the_o favour_n to_o build_v up_o again_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v forsake_v conditional_o that_o we_o go_v not_o about_o it_o with_o vain_a pride_n nor_o presume_v any_o thing_n upon_o ourselves_o but_o desire_v he_o to_o reach_v we_o his_o strong_a hand_n and_o so_o too_o guide_v and_o govern_v we_o always_o by_o his_o holy_a spirit_n that_o when_o he_o have_v once_o begin_v to_o show_v his_o gracious_a favour_n towards_o we_o he_o will_v continue_v the_o same_o and_o bring_v it_o to_o perfection_n now_o let_v we_o fall_v down_o in_o the_o presence_n of_o our_o good_a god_n with_o acknowledgement_n of_o our_o everlasting_a abide_n place_n be_v not_o here_o but_o in_o heaven_n then_o be_v he_o in_o the_o case_n that_o he_o may_v be_v deem_v a_o happy_a man_n but_o as_o for_o he_o that_o regard_v not_o god_n ne_o trust_v in_o his_o goodness_n ne_o know_v himself_o to_o be_v in_o his_o keep_n but_o will_v fain_o dwell_v ever_o in_o this_o world_n and_o can_v be_v get_v hence_o but_o by_o force_n and_o within_o it_o shall_v be_v eat_v with_o moth_n or_o other_o worm_n evenso_fw-la be_v it_o with_o all_o the_o brave_a lad_n of_o the_o world_n which_o laugh_v at_o god_n to_o sport_v themselves_o withal_o for_o they_o may_v well_o have_v both_o credit_n and_o riches_n and_o pleasure_n and_o they_o may_v be_v think_v to_o have_v the_o happy_a life_n of_o the_o world_n but_o in_o the_o mean_a while_o they_o be_v wormeaten_v within_o &_o their_o wicked_a conscience_n play_v the_o hangman_n and_o cease_v not_o to_o torment_v they_o so_o as_o they_o wot_v not_o where_o they_o be_v and_o forasmuch_o as_o they_o can_v call_v upon_o god_n they_o must_v needs_o be_v without_o hope_n of_o mercy_n and_o without_o certainty_n too_o stay_v upon_o and_o always_o in_o fear_n because_o they_o know_v not_o how_o long_o they_o shall_v abide_v in_o that_o plight_n to_o be_v short_a they_o must_v needs_o be_v as_o block_n and_o brute_n beast_n but_o on_o the_o contrary_a part_n you_o shall_v see_v the_o faithful_a one_o merry_a even_o inaduersitie_n for_o when_o we_o have_v cast_v our_o eye_n upon_o god_n and_o behold_v his_o fatherly_a countenance_n towards_o we_o this_o only_a say_n will_v comfort_v we_o wherein_o he_o assure_v we_o that_o he_o will_v not_o lay_v more_o trouble_n upon_o we_o than_o we_o shall_v be_v able_a to_o bear_v but_o will_v give_v we_o a_o good_a end_n the_o band_n of_o god_n and_o what_o be_v with_o the_o almighty_a yea_o and_o he_o add_v that_o his_o friend_n be_v very_o unwitty_a sith_o that_o they_o have_v see_v all_o those_o thing_n and_o yet_o nevertheless_o do_v speak_v so_o auk_o according_a as_o we_o have_v see_v before_o but_o job_n have_v already_o put_v a_o sufficient_a difference_n betwixt_o god_n child_n and_o the_o unbeliever_n show_v that_o we_o ought_v not_o to_o deem_v any_o man_n life_n unhappy_a for_o the_o outward_a show_n that_o appear_v for_o a_o day_n or_o twain_o or_o for_o a_o little_a time_n but_o that_o we_o must_v enter_v innermore_o and_o search_v what_o be_v in_o the_o heart_n yea_o and_o we_o must_v come_v to_o the_o hope_n that_o be_v in_o they_o at_o their_o death_n and_o look_v whither_o while_o they_o may_v live_v here_o they_o be_v join_v unto_o god_n and_o call_v upon_o he_o and_o flee_v to_o he_o for_o refuge_n and_o yield_v themselves_o whole_o to_o he_o and_o rejoice_v in_o his_o goodness_n and_o whither_o that_o at_o their_o death_n they_o be_v able_a too_o commit_v themselves_o too_o his_o keep_n and_o to_o betake_v their_o soul_n to_o he_o believe_v that_o they_o be_v live_v in_o delight_n and_o pleasure_n such_o be_v always_o unhappy_a because_o they_o separate_v themselves_o from_o god_n who_o be_v the_o wellspring_n of_o all_o welfare_n and_o when_o they_o come_v to_o death_n they_o trust_n not_o in_o he_o but_o be_v as_o it_o be_v hale_v away_o by_o force_n whereas_o they_o ought_v to_o put_v themselves_o quiet_o into_o his_o hand_n job_n then_o have_v sufficient_o distinguish_v all_o these_o thing_n already_o but_o yet_o his_o intent_n be_v to_o confirm_v his_o matter_n better_o and_o therefore_o he_o use_v this_o preface_n that_o he_o will_v show_v what_o be_v in_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n and_o what_o be_v with_o the_o almighty_a and_o he_o continue_v still_o the_o same_o matter_n which_o he_o deal_v with_o before_o which_o be_v that_o if_o we_o intend_v to_o judge_v right_o we_o must_v not_o rest_v here_o below_o but_o we_o must_v pass_v beyond_o the_o world_n by_o faith_n and_o look_v upon_o god_n judgement_n after_o another_o fashion_n for_o behold_v the_o thing_n wherein_o job_n counterparty_n be_v deceive_v be_v that_o they_o judge_v after_o the_o present_a state_n and_o will_v needs_o rest_n upon_o these_o inferior_a thing_n job_n therefore_o show_v that_o it_o behoove_v we_o to_o go_v to_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n yea_o and_o to_o mark_v that_o his_o judgement_n be_v secret_a as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v such_o as_o rest_v only_o upon_o this_o world_n and_o cast_v no_o further_o but_o how_o thing_n be_v dispose_v present_o shall_v always_o have_v a_o untoward_a &_o misorder_a judgement_n and_o why_o for_o our_o lord_n call_v we_o to_o he_o and_o tell_v we_o that_o although_o he_o execute_v his_o judgement_n in_o part_n and_o disclose_v they_o to_o we_o after_o such_o a_o sort_n as_o
but_o if_o a_o man_n have_v a_o evil_a like_n so_o he_o consent_v not_o thorough_o to_o it_o the_o papist_n say_v it_o be_v no_o sin_n at_o all_o and_o that_o be_v a_o horrible_a blasphemy_n it_o be_v say_v thou_o shall_v love_v the_o lord_n thy_o god_n with_o all_o thy_o heart_n &_o with_o all_o thy_o strength_n what_o be_v mean_v by_o mind_n &_o strength_n god_n have_v not_o limit_v the_o love_n lewd_a like_n the_o eye_n as_o i_o say_v shall_v be_v pure_a &_o clean_a of_o himself_o so_o as_o we_o may_v behold_v god_n creature_n and_o not_o be_v tempt_v too_o any_o wickedness_n but_o forasmuch_o as_o we_o can_v as_o now_o open_v our_o eye_n but_o we_o shall_v conceive_v some_o wicked_a lust_n nor_o can_v say_v this_o be_v fair_a or_o that_o be_v good_a but_o immediate_o we_o either_o to_o covetousness_n or_o to_o whoredom_n or_o too_o voluptuousness_n to_o be_v short_a look_v whatsoever_o be_v fair_a or_o good_a under_o heaven_n the_o same_o turn_v we_o away_o from_o pursue_v they_o with_o rigour_n but_o now_o eliu_n add_v that_o god_n prevent_v that_o mischief_n by_o send_v the_o say_a message_n of_o the_o release_n of_o our_o sin_n so_o as_o we_o fall_v not_o into_o the_o grave_n that_o be_v to_o say_v we_o perish_v not_o for_o the_o case_n here_o stand_v not_o only_o upon_o temporal_a death_n but_o upon_o damnation_n wherein_o we_o shall_v be_v utter_o overwhelm_v if_o god_n do_v not_o prevent_v it_o and_o preserve_v we_o of_o his_o infinite_a goodness_n then_o let_v we_o mark_v that_o while_o we_o be_v afflict_v we_o be_v cover_v with_o the_o darkness_n of_o death_n and_o it_o seem_v to_o we_o that_o there_o be_v no_o get_v out_o of_o it_o but_o yet_o notwithstanding_o even_o in_o that_o time_n god_n sustain_v we_o as_o it_o be_v in_o covert_n and_o although_o we_o perceive_v not_o that_o we_o rest_v upon_o he_o yet_o notwithstanding_o he_o show_v we_o that_o favour_n for_o without_o our_o knowledge_n it_o behove_v god_n to_o work_v in_o that_o behalf_n although_o we_o can_v conceive_v it_o and_o undoubted_o when_o we_o begin_v too_o take_v hold_v of_o his_o goodness_n by_o faith_n we_o must_v not_o lay_v the_o first_o point_n of_o our_o salvation_n there_o but_o we_o must_v mount_v up_o high_a namely_o that_o he_o choose_v we_o before_o we_o be_v bear_v

he_o will_v look_v towards_o man_n and_o say_v i_o have_v sin_v i_o have_v turn_v away_o from_o goodness_n and_o it_o have_v not_o boot_v i_o he_o have_v deliver_v my_o soul_n from_o the_o pit_n this_o text_n be_v expound_v by_o some_o man_n as_o though_o eliu_n speak_v of_o god_n say_v that_o it_o be_v he_o that_o look_v so_o towards_o man_n and_o that_o if_o any_o man_n say_v i_o have_v do_v amiss_o then_o whereas_o he_o have_v be_v in_o the_o darkness_n of_o death_n god_n deliver_v his_o soul_n from_o the_o pit_n and_o restore_v to_o he_o the_o light_n of_o life_n howbeit_o forasmuch_o as_o word_n for_o word_n it_o be_v set_v down_o thus_o he_o will_v look_v towards_o man_n and_o say_v i_o have_v do_v amiss_o i_o have_v turn_v away_o from_o goodness_n and_o it_o have_v not_o stand_v i_o in_o any_o stead_n or_o be_v not_o meet_v and_o convenient_a for_o i_o a_o man_n may_v see_v and_o easy_o gather_v that_o eliu_n go_v on_o still_o with_o his_o matter_n show_v that_o they_o which_o be_v bring_v so_o low_o as_o to_o feel_v their_o sin_n and_o to_o be_v even_o at_o death_n door_n if_o god_n show_v they_o the_o favour_n to_o call_v they_o back_o again_o and_o give_v they_o hope_v of_o life_n and_o special_o cheer_v their_o heart_n so_o as_o they_o be_v able_a to_o call_v upon_o he_o in_o true_a assuredness_n of_o faith_n do_v afterward_o turn_v themselves_o to_o man_n and_o declare_v their_o misery_n to_o the_o intent_n to_o magnify_v the_o infinite_a goodness_n of_o god_n which_o they_o have_v feel_v and_o so_o the_o second_o fruit_n of_o the_o forgiveness_n of_o sin_n be_v that_o when_o the_o wretched_a sinner_n know_v that_o god_n have_v not_o shake_v he_o off_o but_o as_o yet_o open_v he_o the_o way_n and_o give_v he_o access_n too_o come_v unto_o he_o like_a as_o he_o rest_v thereupon_o too_o call_v upon_o god_n and_o afterward_o make_v the_o fruit_n of_o faith_n available_a so_o also_o it_o behove_v he_o too_o confess_v the_o say_a goodness_n of_o it_o be_v a_o order_n which_o we_o ought_v to_o keep_v well_o the_o first_o be_v that_o man_n shall_v examine_v their_o own_o conscience_n &_o have_v a_o eye_n to_o their_o whole_a life_n and_o why_o to_o be_v ashamed_a of_o their_o sin_n for_o until_o we_o have_v well_o perceive_v that_o we_o be_v worse_o than_o wretched_a how_o will_v we_o have_v recourse_n unto_o god_n we_o will_v not_o be_v it_o behove_v we_o to_o keep_v but_o i_o tell_v you_o that_o we_o must_v begin_v at_o ourselves_o and_o why_o we_o shall_v see_v many_o which_o will_v blaze_v abroad_o god_n praise_n with_o full_a to_o a_o king_n thou_o be_v unfaithful_a or_o unto_o prince_n you_o be_v wicked_a 19_o *_o he_o accept_v not_o the_o person_n of_o the_o great_a one_o neither_o regard_v he_o the_o high_a or_o the_o low_a for_o all_o be_v the_o work_n of_o his_o hand_n 20_o all_o shall_v die_v sudden_o and_o at_o midnight_n the_o people_n shall_v be_v take_v away_o and_o perish_v and_o the_o mighty_a shall_v be_v take_v away_o even_o without_o hand_n i_o have_v tell_v you_o heretofore_o that_o man_n be_v here_o put_v in_o mind_n of_o their_o own_o frailty_n to_o the_o end_n they_o shall_v know_v that_o god_n spare_v they_o and_o that_o if_o we_o abide_v but_o one_o minute_n of_o a_o hour_n upon_o the_o earth_n we_o ought_v to_o think_v the_o same_o a_o gracious_a turn_n of_o he_o and_o why_o if_o we_o have_v any_o life_n and_o breath_n in_o we_o we_o have_v it_o all_o of_o god_n and_o so_o we_o see_v that_o he_o maintain_v we_o of_o his_o mere_a goodness_n see_v it_o be_v so_o let_v we_o not_o accuse_v he_o of_o too_o great_a rigour_n for_o shall_v he_o not_o have_v just_a cause_n to_o root_v we_o out_o utter_o who_o be_v he_o that_o can_v so_o clear_v himself_o as_o god_n shall_v have_v no_o cause_n too_o punish_v he_o and_o yet_o in_o the_o mean_a while_o we_o see_v that_o god_n preserve_v the_o world_n &_o every_o of_o we_o be_v keep_v still_o in_o that_o array_n and_o so_o be_v we_o all_o debtor_n to_o his_o mercy_n so_o far_o be_v he_o off_o from_o use_v any_o great_a rigour_n towards_o we_o that_o we_o ought_v rather_o to_o wonder_v at_o his_o patience_n how_o he_o can_v suffer_v such_o iniquity_n and_o not_o thunder_v down_o his_o vengeance_n at_o the_o first_o brunt_n and_o make_v clear_a riddance_n of_o we_o see_v it_o be_v so_o ought_v any_o man_n to_o murmur_v against_o he_o but_o if_o we_o think_v it_o strange_a that_o he_o bear_v with_o other_o man_n he_o may_v well_o reply_v against_o we_o that_o he_o bear_v with_o we_o also_o therefore_o let_v we_o learn_v hereby_o to_o glorify_v god_n continual_o in_o his_o mercy_n no_o less_o than_o in_o his_o power_n for_o although_o he_o be_v almighty_a yet_o notwithstanding_o he_o restrain_v himself_o because_o he_o love_v we_o also_o we_o have_v one_o other_o very_a necessary_a exhortation_n too_o gather_v of_o this_o text_n which_o be_v that_o know_v our_o own_o frailty_n we_o shall_v learn_v to_o put_v our_o life_n into_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n and_o not_o think_v to_o live_v or_o continue_v our_o state_n by_o our_o own_o power_n but_o suffer_v god_n to_o govern_v we_o as_o it_o please_v he_o and_o be_v always_o ready_a too_o depart_v hence_o when_o he_o think_v it_o good_a too_o take_v we_o out_o of_o this_o world_n furthermore_o what_o be_v the_o mean_a to_o live_v well_o it_o be_v to_o know_v that_o insomuch_o as_o god_n possess_v we_o and_o quicken_v we_o by_o his_o holy_a spirit_n it_o be_v good_a reason_n that_o we_o shall_v hold_v all_o of_o he_o too_o the_o end_n to_o be_v give_v whole_o too_o his_o service_n both_o in_o live_v and_o die_v be_v this_o doctrine_n wellprint_v in_o our_o heart_n we_o shall_v not_o be_v such_o dullard_n as_o we_o be_v for_o as_o for_o the_o most_o part_n of_o man_n when_o they_o rise_v in_o the_o morning_n do_v they_o bethink_v they_o too_o put_v themselves_o into_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n and_o if_o they_o do_v it_o for_o fashion_n sake_n be_v it_o for_o that_o they_o be_v touch_v to_o the_o quick_a know_v that_o their_o life_n be_v but_o a_o little_a blast_n of_o wind_n that_o may_v vanish_v away_o in_o the_o turn_n of_o a_o hand_n acknowledge_v they_o that_o no_o so_o much_o the_o more_o than_o behove_v it_o we_o too_o remember_v the_o lesson_n that_o be_v show_v we_o here_o namely_o that_o our_o life_n be_v but_o a_o shadow_n and_o a_o vanity_n and_o therefore_o it_o behove_v we_o to_o put_v ourselves_o into_o the_o hand_n of_o he_o that_o he_o will_v maintain_v we_o according_a too_o his_o good_a pleasure_n and_o also_o take_v we_o out_o of_o the_o world_n in_o time_n convenient_a but_o as_o we_o be_v counsel_v here_o to_o humble_v ourselves_o and_o to_o challenge_v nothing_o to_o ourselves_o of_o our_o own_o power_n so_o contrariwise_o we_o have_v whereon_o too_o rest_n ourselves_o in_o that_o we_o know_v our_o life_n be_v not_o in_o every_o man_n hand_n but_o in_o the_o only_a hand_n of_o god_n who_o be_v the_o keeper_n of_o it_o and_o the_o scripture_n say_v express_o that_o if_o he_o withdraw_v his_o spirit_n and_o breath_n we_o die_v all_o so_o long_o then_o as_o god_n will_v preserve_v we_o let_v we_o bold_o defy_v the_o devil_n and_o all_o our_o enemy_n true_a it_o be_v that_o if_o we_o look_v but_o upon_o the_o rage_n of_o man_n it_o shall_v seem_v that_o they_o be_v as_o raven_a wolf_n and_o we_o as_o silly_a sheep_n they_o gape_v with_o open_a throat_n to_o swallow_v we_o up_o but_o yet_o can_v they_o do_v nothing_o to_o we_o till_o god_n give_v they_o leave_v and_o it_o be_v not_o without_o cause_n that_o he_o challenge_v and_o reserve_v too_o himself_o the_o power_n of_o withdraw_v the_o breath_n which_o he_o have_v give_v we_o therefore_o let_v we_o be_v content_v assure_v ourselves_o that_o god_n hold_v our_o life_n in_o his_o custody_n and_o protection_n until_o he_o listen_v to_o take_v we_o out_o of_o the_o world_n and_o have_v cause_v we_o to_o finish_v our_o course_n now_o if_o a_o man_n shall_v demand_v here_o whether_o our_o soul_n be_v as_o it_o be_v a_o wind_n see_v it_o be_v say_v that_o we_o shall_v perish_v when_o god_n withdraw_v his_o breath_n let_v we_o mark_v that_o although_o man_n be_v immortal_a yet_o notwithstanding_o they_o have_v not_o that_o of_o themselves_o but_o of_o god_n free_a goodness_n beside_o this_o what_o else_o be_v death_n but_o a_o depart_n of_o the_o soul_n and_o body_n asunder_o god_n then_o withdraw_v his_o breath_n to_o himself_o when_o he_o send_v we_o into_o dust_n and_o rottenness_n and_o yet_o nevertheless_o he_o fail_v not_o to_o take_v up_o our_o soul_n and_o to_o keep_v they_o till_o the_o latter_a day_n to_o be_v short_a eliu_fw-mi ment_fw-mi to_o show_v here_o not_o only_o that_o we_o be_v weak_a and_o transitory_a but_o also_o that_o all_o our_o strength_n be_v nothing_o furtherforth_o than_o it_o be_v uphold_n by_o the_o only_a goodness_n of_o god_n and_o when_o he_o undo_v we_o too_o outward_a appearance_n that_o be_v to_o say_v in_o effect_n
