many_o degree_n and_o instance_n of_o virtue_n require_v from_o we_o which_o be_v not_o necessary_a to_o nay_o scarce_o consistent_a with_o the_o happy_a and_o prosperous_a condition_n of_o this_o world_n or_o our_o live_n in_o it_o for_o we_o be_v not_o to_o love_v it_o we_o be_v to_o live_v above_o it_o to_o stifle_v and_o suppress_v not_o only_o the_o extravagant_a and_o irregular_a but_o even_o the_o natural_a appetite_n of_o the_o body_n and_o to_o despise_v the_o pleasure_n of_o it_o subdue_a the_o flesh_n to_o the_o spirit_n to_o enjoy_v this_o world_n with_o that_o great_a indifferency_n as_o if_o we_o enjoy_v it_o not_o to_o have_v our_o conversation_n in_o heaven_n all_o our_o joy_n and_o affection_n our_o treasure_n and_o heart_n there_o to_o love_v our_o enemy_n and_o those_o who_o hate_v we_o and_o despiteful_o use_v we_o to_o forgive_v injury_n not_o to_o retaliate_v evil_a for_o evil_n but_o the_o contrary_a which_o thing_n we_o can_v think_v why_o our_o saviour_n shall_v require_v from_o we_o be_v it_o not_o that_o that_o temper_n of_o mind_n which_o these_o virtue_n form_n in_o we_o be_v necessary_a to_o prepare_v we_o for_o the_o happiness_n of_o glorious_a at_o the_o resurrection_n and_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n they_o be_v say_v in_o scripture_n to_o be_v asleep_a the_o soul_n must_v all_o the_o while_n be_v in_o a_o imperfect_a state_n
