sustain_v it_o 3._o that_o the_o intercession_n of_o christ_n be_v perpetual_a he_o so_o do_v it_o once_o as_o he_o will_v never_o fail_v to_o do_v it_o in_o all_o age_n heb._n 7.25.28_o for_o the_o signify_v sometime_o the_o prayer_n which_o the_o godly_a make_v in_o the_o name_n of_o christ_n the_o intercessor_n to_o turn_v away_o god_n judgement_n from_o their_o brethren_n in_o this_o world_n and_o so_o it_o be_v take_v 1._o tim._n 2.1_o i_o exhort_v therefore_o that_o first_o of_o all_o supplication_n prayer_n intercession_n and_o give_v of_o thanks_o be_v make_v for_o all_o man_n etc._n etc._n sometime_o the_o complaint_n that_o man_n make_v or_o pretend_v to_o make_v against_o the_o fault_n of_o other_o thus_o elias_n make_v intercession_n against_o israel_n rom._n 11.2_o and_o the_o jew_n make_v intercession_n against_o paul_n act_v 25.24_o but_o usual_o it_o signify_v that_o part_n of_o the_o mediation_n of_o christ_n in_o which_o he_o appear_v before_o god_n to_o prevent_v or_o pacify_v his_o displeasure_n towards_o the_o elect._n 2._o the_o second_o be_v how_o many_o way_n christ_n make_v intercession_n for_o we_o and_o so_o there_o be_v seven_o distinct_a thing_n in_o the_o intercession_n of_o christ_n for_o 1._o first_o he_o present_v himself_o before_o god_n with_o his_o merit_n tender_v his_o sacrifice_n for_o our_o satisfaction_n heb._n 9.24_o for_o christ_n be_v not_o enter_v into_o the_o holy_a place_n that_o be_v make_v with_o hand_n which_o be_v similitude_n of_o the_o true_a sanctuary_n but_o be_v enter_v into_o very_a heaven_n to_o be_v a_o part_n of_o his_o intercession_n and_o he_o still_o pray_v for_o we_o in_o heaven_n rom._n 8.34_o who_o be_v also_o at_o the_o right_a hand_n of_o god_n and_o make_v request_n also_o for_o manner_n to_o make_v our_o moan_n and_o request_n to_o god_n rom._n 8.26_o likewise_o the_o spirit_n also_o help_v our_o infirmity_n for_o we_o know_v not_o what_o to_o pray_v as_o we_o ought_v but_o the_o spirit_n itself_o make_v request_n for_o we_o with_o sigh_n which_o can_v be_v express_v etc._n etc._n so_o in_o the_o 15_o for_o you_o have_v not_o receive_v the_o spirit_n of_o bondage_n to_o fear_v again_o but_o you_o have_v receive_v the_o spirit_n of_o adoption_n whereby_o we_o cry_v abba_n father_n gal._n 4.6.7_o and_o because_o you_o be_v son_n god_n have_v send_v forth_o the_o spirit_n of_o his_o son_n into_o your_o heart_n which_o cry_v abba_n father_n etc._n etc._n 7._o he_o sprinkle_v his_o blood_n upon_o we_o by_o application_n of_o his_o merit_n to_o we_o which_o cry_v to_o think_v of_o ourselves_o that_o we_o be_v unsanctified_a how_o can_v we_o or_o you_o tell_v who_o be_v not_o sanctify_v sol._n it_o be_v easy_a to_o tell_v in_o the_o negative_a who_o be_v not_o many_o sin_n ephes_n 2.1_o and_o you_o have_v he_o quicken_v that_o be_v dead_a in_o trespass_n and_o sin_n 2._o because_o sin_n reign_v in_o they_o it_o have_v a_o unlimited_a power_n in_o they_o rom._n 6.12_o let_v not_o sin_n reign_v therefore_o in_o your_o mortal_a body_n that_o you_o shall_v obey_v it_o in_o the_o lust_n thereof_o 3._o because_o they_o sin_n by_o covenant_n they_o hire_v the_o spirit_n 6._o because_o they_o never_o have_v any_o marriage_n affection_n to_o jesus_n christ_n rom._n 7.5_o 7._o last_o a_o wicked_a man_n find_v in_o himself_o not_o only_o a_o impotency_n but_o a_o impossibility_n to_o be_v subject_a to_o the_o law_n of_o god_n he_o resolve_v that_o he_o can_v possible_o yield_v to_o the_o direction_n of_o the_o word_n nor_o will_v not_o whereas_o a_o godly_a mind_n love_v the_o law_n desire_v to_o obey_v endeavour_n it_o subject_n himself_o to_o it_o though_o he_o fail_v many_o way_n four_o and_o last_o the_o godly_a may_v be_v comfort_v in_o the_o observation_n of_o this_o work_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o grace_n that_o be_v in_o jesus_n christ_n which_o kill_v sin_n in_o they_o and_o have_v make_v they_o alive_a from_o the_o dead_a object_n but_o some_o weak_a christian_n may_v say_v there_o be_v much_o comfort_n in_o this_o doctrine_n of_o the_o heal_n of_o their_o nature_n save_v that_o the_o imperfection_n of_o their_o sanctification_n be_v a_o continual_a discomfort_n solut._n christian_n may_v and_o aught_o to_o comfort_v themselves_o against_o the_o imperfection_n of_o their_o sanctification_n many_o way_n and_o so_o if_o they_o look_v 1._o upon_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n in_o their_o heart_n and_o so_o two_o thing_n may_v relieve_v they_o first_o the_o assistance_n of_o the_o spirit_n which_o will_v help_v their_o infirmity_n rom._n 8._o 26._o and_o then_o if_o they_o consider_v the_o very_a fountain_n of_o all_o good_a action_n and_o every_o good_a gift_n to_o be_v the_o same_o spirit_n of_o god_n they_o must_v needs_o conclude_v it_o be_v some_o divine_a thing_n which_o be_v wrought_v in_o they_o in_o as_o much_o as_o it_o flow_v from_o the_o holy_a ghost_n howsoever_o it_o be_v imperfect_a through_o the_o corruption_n of_o their_o heart_n 2._o upon_o jesus_n christ_n and_o so_o if_o they_o behold_v 1._o his_o intercession_n and_o that_o likewise_o have_v a_o double_a comfort_n in_o it_o for_o first_o christ_n make_v intercession_n for_o we_o when_o he_o pray_v for_o our_o sanctification_n it_o shall_v much_o comfort_v we_o to_o remember_v that_o our_o sanctification_n be_v one_o of_o the_o thing_n christ_n pray_v for_o john_n 17.19_o second_o christ_n in_o his_o intercession_n in_o heaven_n cover_v all_o the_o imperfection_n of_o the_o godly_a and_o be_v their_o advocate_n before_o the_o father_n 1._o john_n 2.2_o rom._n 8.34_o 2._o his_o death_n and_o resurrection_n from_o whence_o flow_v a_o virtue_n continual_o which_o be_v of_o singular_a power_n to_o make_v our_o sin_n still_o die_v in_o we_o and_o quicken_v we_o to_o newness_n of_o life_n rom._n 6.4_o for_o this_o cause_n do_v christ_n sanctify_v himself_o that_o he_o may_v sanctify_v his_o member_n by_o the_o influence_n come_v from_o he_o as_o from_o their_o head_n john_n 17.17_o 3._o upon_o the_o hope_n of_o perfect_a holiness_n for_o the_o time_n will_v come_v when_o they_o shall_v be_v without_o
