they_o to_o a_o very_a high_a and_o excellent_a estate_n of_o honour_n and_o dignity_n and_o it_o be_v particular_o evident_a in_o this_o that_o the_o lord_n place_v they_o in_o the_o most_o fruitful_a and_o pleasant_a place_n of_o the_o whole_a earth_n as_o it_o be_v in_o a_o most_o fine_a and_o delicate_a orchyard_n and_o garden_n and_o give_v they_o also_o therewithal_o the_o sovereignty_n over_o all_o the_o fowl_n of_o the_o heaven_n over_o the_o fish_n of_o the_o sea_n and_o over_o the_o beast_n of_o the_o earth_n as_o we_o read_v how_o god_n from_o the_o beginning_n both_o purpose_v and_o also_o perform_v to_o authorise_v they_o thereunto_o not_o only_o in_o the_o text_n of_o the_o 1._o chap_n of_o genesis_n already_o rehearse_v but_o also_o in_o the_o 2._o cha_n verse_n 8._o etc._n etc._n a_o portion_n of_o the_o which_o authority_n he_o have_v continue_v to_o mankind_n for_o christ_n sake_n even_o after_o the_o fall_n and_o reviue_v it_o again_o after_o noah_n flood_n as_o we_o read_v gen_n 8.20_o etc._n etc._n and_o chap_n 9.1.2_o etc._n etc._n and_o as_o we_o have_v experience_n even_o to_o this_o day_n yet_o note_n that_o all_o that_o be_v say_v of_o the_o excellency_n of_o man_n creation_n be_v to_o be_v refer_v only_o to_o the_o glorify_v of_o god_n and_o in_o no_o wise_a to_o puff_n up_o man_n in_o any_o proud_a conceit_n of_o himself_o for_o alas_o he_o do_v through_o his_o pride_n lose_v all_o his_o dignity_n by_o and_o by_o to_o conclude_v this_o three_o observation_n concern_v the_o excellent_a estate_n &_o dignity_n whereunto_o in_o that_o they_o be_v create_v the_o last_o of_o the_o creature_n of_o god_n question_n what_o may_v be_v the_o reason_n of_o that_o answer_n herein_o god_n do_v real_o utter_v and_o declare_v his_o most_o bountiful_a favour_n and_o good_a will_n towards_o mankind_n in_o that_o

all_o curse_n and_o misery_n it_o be_v evident_a gen_n chap_n 3_o verses_z 6.7.17.18.19.23.24_o and_o all_o this_o according_a to_o the_o threaten_a or_o warning_n of_o god_n gen_n chap_n 2.17_o of_o the_o tree_n of_o the_o knowledge_n of_o good_a and_o evil_a thou_o shall_v not_o eat_v of_o it_o say_v the_o lord_n for_o in_o the_o day_n that_o thou_o eat_v thereof_o thou_o shall_v die_v the_o death_n that_o be_v to_o say_v death_n shall_v be_v as_o it_o be_v the_o last_o pay_n and_o wage_n of_o sin_n here_o in_o this_o world_n beside_o many_o forerunner_n and_o punishment_n make_v way_n unto_o it_o and_o then_o also_o a_o entrance_n into_o a_o worse_a death_n if_o it_o be_v not_o prevent_v for_o under_o the_o the_o name_n of_o death_n god_n threaten_v all_o the_o punishment_n of_o only_o from_o one_o tree_n and_o give_v they_o the_o free_a use_n of_o abundant_a variety_n yea_o and_o also_o in_o that_o he_o place_v the_o tree_n of_o life_n so_o as_o it_o may_v well_o have_v be_v in_o their_o eye_n continual_o to_o admonish_v they_o from_o the_o midst_n of_o the_o garden_n of_o the_o singular_a love_n &_o favour_n of_o god_n towards_o they_o gen_n 2.9.16_o read_v also_o chap_n 3.2_o where_o eve_n herself_o acknowledge_v this_o bounty_n of_o god_n and_o so_o be_v from_o her_o own_o knowledge_n and_o conscience_n a_o witness_n against_o herself_o thus_o the_o sin_n may_v easy_o appear_v to_o be_v very_o heinous_a question_n but_o how_o can_v you_o show_v that_o this_o one_o sin_n contain_v in_o effect_n all_o sin_n both_o against_o god_n and_o themselves_o and_o also_o against_o all_o that_o be_v to_o come_v of_o they_o answer_n first_o they_o tread_v under_o foot_n the_o gracious_a commandment_n of_o god_n together_o with_o the_o earnest_a warning_n and_o threaten_v which_o he_o give_v they_o as_o if_o there_o have_v be_v neither_o equity_n nor_o truth_n therein_o second_o they_o do_v most_o unthankeful_o neglect_v the_o exceed_a great_a benefit_n of_o their_o creation_n with_o all_o the_o bountiful_a mercy_n and_o dignity_n belong_v thereunto_o which_o god_n have_v most_o gracious_o bestow_v upon_o they_o three_o they_o do_v most_o proud_o and_o verse_n 4.5_o question_n what_o mean_n do_v the_o devil_n use_v to_o suggest_v this_o most_o wicked_a and_o subtle_a temptation_n to_o mankind_n at_o the_o beginning_n for_o likely_a he_o can_v not_o immediate_o and_o internal_o corrupt_v their_o mind_n while_o they_o be_v yet_o in_o their_o uprightness_n and_o integrity_n what_o mean_v therefore_o do_v the_o devil_n use_v answer_n the_o devil_n use_v the_o serpent_n which_o of_o all_o other_o creature_n he_o know_v to_o be_v most_o fit_a for_o he_o to_o deceive_v by_o so_o by_o the_o serpent_n he_o assault_v woman_n first_o who_o he_o know_v also_o to_o be_v the_o weak_a vessel_n and_o then_o have_v deceive_v she_o he_o do_v by_o she_o induce_v man_n likewise_o to_o consent_n and_o join_v in_o the_o same_o transgression_n with_o she_o wherein_o â—hat_n the_o devil_n have_v his_o hand_n we_o may_v evident_o perceive_v by_o that_o which_o we_o read_v john_n 8.44_o where_o our_o saviour_n christ_n affirm_v that_o of_o the_o devil_n which_o be_v here_o ascribe_v to_o the_o serpent_n and_o it_o be_v evident_a also_o in_o that_o other_o where_o in_o the_o holy_a scripture_n even_o from_o the_o ground_n of_o this_o history_n the_o devil_n be_v call_v by_o the_o name_n of_o the_o serpent_n even_o that_o old_a serpent_n the_o devil_n etc._n etc._n as_o revel_v chap_n 12.9_o question_n but_o do_v not_o this_o somewhat_o lessen_v the_o sin_n of_o adam_n and_o eue._n in_o that_o it_o be_v not_o original_o of_o themselves_o but_o from_o the_o suggestion_n of_o the_o devil_n answer_n it_o do_v not_o so_o lessen_v it_o that_o they_o shall_v not_o full_o deserve_v that_o punishment_n
prophecy_n concern_v the_o conception_n of_o our_o saviour_n for_o we_o and_o our_o benefit_n they_o be_v likewise_o promise_n that_o he_o shall_v be_v bear_v for_o we_o and_o our_o benefit_n yea_o even_o for_o the_o great_a benefit_n that_o may_v possible_o be_v procure_v unto_o us._n proof_n explication_n &_o proof_n it_o be_v true_a it_o can_v not_o possible_o be_v that_o our_o saviour_n shall_v be_v conceive_v by_o the_o holy_a ghost_n in_o vain_a his_o birth_n can_v by_o no_o mean_n be_v hinder_v or_o defeat_v and_o therefore_o the_o promise_n of_o this_o may_v be_v say_v to_o be_v include_v in_o the_o promise_n of_o that_o question_n but_o have_v we_o no_o special_a or_o express_v promise_n concern_v the_o birth_n of_o our_o saviour_n that_o it_o shall_v be_v to_o our_o benefit_n answer_n yes_o the_o lord_n do_v assure_v his_o church_n of_o this_o singular_a mercy_n by_o his_o holy_a prophet_n isaiah_n long_o before_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v proof_n explication_n and_o proof_n this_o also_o be_v very_o true_a for_o so_o we_o read_v in_o the_o 6._o verse_n of_o his_o 9_o chapter_n of_o his_o prophecy_n where_o we_o find_v it_o thus_o write_v unto_o we_o that_o the_o angel_n of_o heaven_n be_v rejoice_v by_o the_o birth_n of_o our_o saviour_n as_o be_v evident_a by_o their_o praise_n of_o god_n for_o it_o as_o we_o have_v see_v luk._n 2.13.14_o and_o namely_o for_o our_o sake_n who_o have_v the_o chief_a benefit_n of_o it_o it_o follow_v by_o good_a reason_n that_o we_o ourselves_o much_o rather_o have_v principal_a cause_n of_o most_o abundant_a rejoice_v herein_o question_n but_o in_o what_o respect_n be_v the_o birth_n of_o our_o saviour_n a_o matter_n of_o so_o singular_a and_o incomparable_a rejoice_v to_o we_o and_o to_o all_o people_n
