man_n can_v besaved_a but_o by_o the_o name_n of_o jesus_n only_o now_o which_o be_v more_o the_o apostle_n write_v to_o the_o ephesian_n in_o his_o first_o chapter_n speak_v of_o the_o mighty_a power_n of_o god_n that_o raise_v he_o up_o from_o the_o dead_a and_o set_v he_o at_o his_o own_o right_a hand_n in_o the_o heavenly_a place_n far_o above_o all_o principality_n and_o power_n and_o might_n and_o dominion_n and_o every_o name_n that_o be_v name_v not_o only_o in_o this_o world_n but_o in_o the_o world_n to_o come_v and_o have_v put_v all_o thing_n under_o his_o foot_n and_o give_v he_o to_o be_v head_n over_o all_o thing_n in_o the_o church_n so_o the_o apostle_n conclude_v the_o greatness_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n by_o this_o that_o god_n have_v make_v he_o to_o be_v the_o head_n of_o the_o church_n who_o be_v the_o fullness_n of_o he_o that_o fill_v all_o thing_n so_o that_o this_o exaltation_n of_o christ_n to_o glory_n and_o the_o dignity_n which_o christ_n be_v exalt_v unto_o above_o all_o man_n or_o angel_n this_o be_v the_o chief_a glory_n and_o honour_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n we_o shall_v speak_v somewhat_o more_o of_o this_o hereafter_o how_o that_o all_o the_o other_o office_n of_o christ_n they_o be_v but_o servile_a christ_n do_v abase_v himself_o to_o be_v the_o prophet_n of_o his_o church_n and_o he_o be_v not_o ashamed_a to_o take_v upon_o he_o to_o teach_v the_o law_n of_o god_n to_o the_o people_n with_o his_o own_o mouth_n neither_o be_v he_o ashamed_a to_o take_v upon_o he_o to_o be_v our_o priest_n to_o offer_v to_o god_n for_o sin_n of_o the_o world_n in_o all_o these_o he_o be_v abase_v and_o suffer_v himself_o in_o a_o manner_n to_o be_v spoil_v of_o his_o honour_n and_o glory_n but_o when_o he_o come_v to_o his_o kingdom_n which_o he_o show_v by_o his_o resurrection_n and_o when_o he_o have_v prevail_v against_o his_o enemy_n and_o have_v subdue_v sin_n and_o satan_n than_o he_o stand_v triumph_v in_o heaven_n and_o there_o sit_v at_o the_o right-hand_a of_o god_n and_o herein_o stand_v his_o dignity_n and_o it_o be_v a_o wonderful_a thing_n that_o the_o world_n consider_v it_o not_o those_o which_o be_v the_o former_a office_n to_o be_v prophet_n or_o priest_n in_o his_o church_n stand_v in_o the_o abase_v and_o humiliation_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n but_o in_o his_o kingly_a office_n stand_v his_o exaltation_n this_o be_v his_o dignity_n and_o royal_a prerogative_n he_o that_o meddle_v with_o it_o meddle_v with_o the_o chief_a dignity_n of_o christ_n furthermore_o as_o the_o former_a 2._o office_n of_o christ_n be_v but_o servile_a function_n so_o the_o three_o by_o virtue_n of_o his_o exaltation_n make_v the_o other_o 2._o both_o effectual_a both_o his_o word_n as_o prophet_n or_o of_o his_o suffering_n as_o a_o priest_n depend_v upon_o his_o royal_a power_n for_o except_o he_o have_v power_n over_o all_o thing_n he_o be_v not_o able_a to_o keep_v we_o in_o his_o fear_n nor_o present_v we_o into_o the_o favour_n of_o god_n nor_o make_v it_o effectual_a to_o salvation_n for_o satan_n and_o sin_n and_o the_o world_n will_v prevail_v against_o we_o but_o christ_n by_o his_o power_n be_v strong_a than_o all_o so_o as_o neither_o man_n nor_o angel_n can_v make_v frustrate_a that_o which_o he_o have_v do_v for_o his_o church_n therefore_o he_o be_v say_v to_o be_v declare_v to_o be_v the_o son_n of_o god_n by_o the_o resurrection_n from_o the_o dead_a who_o be_v ever_o able_a to_o loose_v the_o sorrow_n of_o death_n but_o he_o which_o be_v strong_a than_o death_n christ_n therefore_o by_o death_n destroy_v death_n and_o he_o that_o have_v the_o power_n of_o death_n the_o devil_n and_o for_o this_o cause_n christ_n say_v speak_v of_o the_o virtue_n of_o his_o exaltation_n to_o wit_n 7._o his_o blessing_n when_o to_o his_o own_o he_o say_v every_o one_o that_o thirst_v shall_v come_v unto_o he_o and_o he_o will_v give_v they_o the_o water_n of_o life_n this_o he_o speak_v of_o the_o spirit_n because_o christ_n be_v not_o yet_o glorify_v for_o until_o he_o be_v set_v in_o his_o kingdom_n he_o can_v not_o dispense_v his_o spirit_n no_o man_n ever_o see_v this_o light_n nor_o can_v see_v it_o abraham_n never_o see_v he_o nor_o moses_n never_o see_v he_o neither_o can_v any_o man_n see_v that_o unapproachable_a light_n that_o see_v he_o face_n to_o face_n how_o can_v this_o be_v true_a if_o none_o can_v see_v god_n to_o resolve_v this_o doubtful_a point_n the_o scripture_n lead_v we_o to_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o divers_a kind_n of_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n first_o there_o be_v a_o sight_n of_o god_n which_o be_v perfect_a second_o there_o be_v a_o sight_n of_o god_n which_o be_v imperfect_a the_o perfect_a sight_n of_o god_n no_o man_n can_v see_v but_o christ_n neither_o angel_n nor_o man_n ever_o have_v or_o shall_v have_v the_o full_a and_o perfitt_a sight_n of_o the_o majesty_n of_o god_n it_o can_v be_v see_v for_o it_o be_v infinite_a and_o incomprehensible_a which_o cannott_n be_v comprehend_v by_o any_o creature_n no_o not_o by_o gloryfy_v man_n nor_o glorified_a creature_n for_o the_o brightness_n of_o god_n be_v such_o that_o it_o will_v strike_v to_o death_n man_n or_o angel_n if_o he_o shall_v behold_v it_o therefore_o no_o man_n or_o angel_n can_v see_v it_o and_o live_v as_o of_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n be_v twolfold_a or_o we_o may_v observe_v it_o in_o one_o and_o that_o be_v that_o we_o may_v be_v like_o he_o all_o similitude_n of_o god_n flow_v from_o our_o sight_n of_o god_n here_o in_o this_o world_n and_o in_o that_o which_o be_v to_o come_v there_o be_v no_o conformity_n to_o god_n nor_o likeness_n to_o he_o but_o by_o the_o shine_a of_o god_n light_n upon_o we_o therefore_o it_o be_v that_o in_o this_o world_n he_o send_v such_o a_o light_n among_o we_o as_o be_v able_a to_o make_v we_o like_a unto_o he_o in_o grace_n though_o not_o in_o glory_n the_o small_a light_n we_o get_v in_o the_o gospel_n be_v to_o show_v with_o open_a face_n the_o glory_n of_o god_n it_o put_v the_o image_n of_o god_n in_o righteousness_n and_o holiness_n upon_o we_o and_o it_o be_v give_v we_o to_o this_o end_n to_o beget_v we_o again_o and_o to_o translate_v we_o from_o the_o similitude_n of_o sinful_a flesh_n to_o the_o glorious_a image_n of_o god_n see_v therefore_o what_o conformity_n in_o holiness_n and_o righteousness_n god_n have_v appoint_v we_o in_o this_o life_n according_a to_o this_o he_o give_v we_o a_o sight_n of_o himself_o in_o the_o gospel_n it_o be_v a_o glass_n wherein_o we_o may_v see_v god_n and_o according_a as_o he_o giu_v we_o a_o sight_n of_o himself_o so_o do_v he_o conform_v we_o to_o his_o image_n and_o the_o measure_n glory_n of_o god_n manifest_v in_o christ_n jesus_n that_o we_o may_v attain_v to_o this_o blessedness_n in_o this_o life_n to_o be_v like_a unto_o he_o there_o be_v yet_o more_o a_o second_o degree_n of_o blessedness_n in_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n which_o be_v not_o only_o to_o have_v a_o similitude_n like_a unto_o god_n in_o holiness_n but_o in_o glory_n and_o immortality_n we_o shall_v not_o only_o be_v make_v righteous_a and_o holy_a but_o immortal_a and_o glorious_a this_o do_v proceed_v from_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n when_o christ_n shall_v come_v again_o in_o the_o cloud_n then_o shall_v mortality_n be_v swallow_v up_o of_o immortality_n but_o this_o effect_n of_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n can_v come_v to_o pass_v until_o we_o attain_v such_o a_o sight_n of_o god_n as_o the_o scripture_n speak_v when_o he_o say_v we_o be_v now_o the_o son_n of_o god_n but_o when_o christ_n who_o be_v our_o life_n shall_v appear_v then_o shall_v we_o also_o appear_v with_o he_o in_o glory_n the_o sight_n that_o we_o have_v of_o god_n in_o this_o life_n though_o it_o be_v but_o a_o poor_a sight_n yet_o be_v effectual_a to_o regeneration_n and_o it_o be_v as_o far_o as_o sinful_a man_n can_v see_v he_o here_o and_o yet_o this_o sight_n of_o god_n be_v nothing_o to_o that_o he_o be_v in_o himself_o and_o to_o that_o which_o we_o shall_v see_v in_o he_o at_o the_o last_o day_n so_o likewise_o that_o sight_n we_o shall_v receive_v at_o christ_n come_n again_o it_o shall_v not_o be_v the_o sight_n of_o god_n majesty_n immediate_o but_o we_o shall_v see_v this_o god_n clothe_v with_o his_o manhood_n for_o the_o fullnes_n of_o the_o godhead_n dwell_v in_o christ_n bodily_a the_o godhead_n be_v overshadow_a with_o the_o flesh_n of_o christ_n and_o we_o can_v never_o see_v and_o neither_o man_n nor_o angel_n can_v see_v the_o lord_n therefore_o in_o the_o 3._o chapter_n of_o this_o epistle_n the_o apostle_n tell_v we_o that_o christ_n be_v manifest_v in_o the_o flesh_n and_o see_v of_o angel_n the_o angel_n dare_v not_o look_v upon_o god_n before_o but_o have_v two_o wing_n to_o cover_v their_o face_n they_o dare_v not_o see_v the_o majesty_n of_o god_n until_o
