affection_n of_o paul_n to_o be_v lead_v to_o the_o like_a wish_n with_o the_o like_a mind_n for_o without_o all_o doubt_n all_o the_o motive_n paul_n have_v be_v a_o sincere_a zeal_n to_o god_n glory_n and_o a_o true_a love_n to_o man_n salvation_n but_o we_o in_o the_o like_a case_n what_o ever_o word_n we_o may_v pretend_v can_v hardly_o say_v we_o have_v purge_v our_o soul_n from_o the_o leven_a of_o malice_n and_o hatred_n 4._o paul_n as_o we_o have_v see_v wish_v not_o their_o death_n simple_o and_o absolute_o but_o with_o a_o potiority_n of_o their_o repentance_n that_o they_o may_v rather_o be_v reclaim_v and_o therefore_o he_o refer_v the_o issue_n whole_o to_o the_o pleasure_n of_o god_n leave_v his_o wish_n to_o depend_v on_o god_n will_n if_o it_o be_v therefore_o unlawful_a it_o be_v to_o wish_v the_o death_n of_o one_o who_o we_o call_v heretic_n in_o that_o meaning_n we_o put_v upon_o it_o much_o less_o be_v it_o lawful_a to_o put_v he_o to_o death_n nay_o this_o latter_a be_v unlawful_a though_o the_o former_a be_v suppose_v lawful_a for_o he_o that_o wish_v another_o man_n death_n do_v commit_v the_o act_n ot_fw-mi the_o will_n of_o god_n as_o it_o shall_v stand_v with_o the_o pleasure_n of_o god_n that_o he_o live_v or_o die_v but_o he_o that_o attempt_v another_o death_n by_o man_n hand_n have_v already_o determine_v what_o be_v to_o be_v do_v without_o any_o far_o discuss_v of_o the_o matter_n and_o it_o be_v lawful_a to_o wish_v many_o a_o thing_n be_v do_v which_o notwithstanding_o to_o do_v we_o have_v no_o lawful_a power_n although_o then_o to_o paul_n it_o be_v lawful_a to_o wish_v the_o death_n of_o heretic_n yet_o it_o follow_v not_o therefore_o that_o it_o be_v lawful_a for_o the_o magistrate_n to_o put_v they_o to_o death_n for_o have_v god_n grant_v to_o the_o magistrate_n power_n over_o the_o conscience_n or_o give_v he_o the_o sword_n with_o such_o a_o large_a commission_n that_o thereby_o he_o must_v needs_o be_v arm_v not_o only_o against_o offend_a heretic_n but_o also_o against_o all_o true_a and_o innocent_a christian_n which_o equal_o lie_v open_a to_o the_o stroke_n of_o his_o sword_n see_v the_o less_o christian_a any_o man_n be_v the_o more_o prone_a he_o be_v to_o condemn_v another_o for_o a_o heretic_n and_o the_o more_o carnal_a he_o be_v the_o more_o violent_a he_o grow_v to_o maintain_v a_o humane_a tradition_n against_o a_o divine_a verity_n because_o this_o latter_a suit_v less_o with_o his_o carnal_a way_n and_o many_o man_n in_o authority_n do_v not_o embrace_v the_o sincerity_n of_o religion_n but_o use_v it_o rather_o as_o a_o instrument_n for_o their_o worldly_a policy_n or_o have_v god_n give_v to_o the_o magistrate_n the_o judgement_n of_o the_o conscience_n or_o the_o discern_a of_o spirit_n to_o determine_v true_o between_o the_o true_a and_o the_o false_a see_v man_n of_o rule_n and_o power_n who_o entrance_n into_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n be_v a_o thing_n of_o great_a difficulty_n and_o who_o be_v common_o employ_v in_o other_o affair_n than_o the_o care_n of_o religion_n be_v not_o always_o competent_a judge_n in_o these_o case_n especial_o see_v many_o such_o person_n be_v not_o study_v in_o the_o case_n of_o heresy_n neither_o be_v their_o case_n lay_v out_o by_o any_o law_n either_o of_o god_n or_o man._n how_o then_o can_v the_o magistrate_n judge_v of_o that_o wherein_o by_o his_o call_n he_o have_v no_o judgement_n and_o for_o he_o to_o commit_v a_o matter_n of_o that_o moment_n to_o the_o arbitrement_n of_o another_o be_v hard_a adventure_n see_v he_o can_v with_o no_o safety_n execute_v the_o sentence_n but_o always_o with_o danger_n of_o
