the_o knowledge_n of_o christ_n be_v here_o mean_v not_o such_o a_o knowledge_n as_o whereby_o we_o be_v able_a to_o talk_v of_o christ_n of_o his_o birth_n of_o his_o life_n of_o his_o doctrine_n of_o his_o death_n and_o passion_n etc._n etc._n but_o such_o a_o knowledge_n as_o whereby_o we_o feel_v and_o prove_v in_o ourselves_o and_o in_o our_o own_o soul_n that_o he_o be_v indeed_o our_o redemption_n our_o reconciliation_n our_o salvation_n and_o whatsoever_o else_o we_o have_v hear_v or_o read_v or_o believe_v of_o he_o in_o the_o scripture_n not_o a_o contemplative_a &_o know_a knowledge_n of_o christ_n but_o a_o lively_a and_o experimental_a knowledge_n of_o christ_n in_o our_o own_o soul_n again_o by_o the_o virtue_n of_o christ_n his_o resurrection_n the_o apostle_n may_v be_v make_v conformable_a unto_o christ_n his_o death_n and_o at_o length_n may_v be_v receive_v into_o that_o glory_n which_o be_v prepare_v to_o be_v show_v in_o the_o resurrection_n of_o the_o just_a thus_o than_o you_o see_v that_o both_o these_o be_v the_o fruit_n of_o the_o righteousness_n of_o faith_n and_o that_o both_o the_o righteousness_n of_o faith_n and_o these_o fruit_n issue_v out_o of_o it_o be_v all_o vantage_n which_o the_o apostle_n count_v he_o have_v hy_z renounce_v all_o confidence_n in_o the_o flesh_n and_o rejoice_v only_o in_o christ_n jesus_n now_o let_v we_o see_v what_o observation_n we_o may_v gather_v hence_o for_o our_o use_n that_o i_o may_v know_v he_o this_n be_v one_o end_n wherefore_o the_o apostle_n will_v be_v find_v in_o christ_n have_v rejoice_v in_o christ_n jesus_n but_o what_o do_v not_o paul_n know_v christ_n have_v he_o preach_v christ_n so_o many_o year_n &_o yet_o know_v not_o christ_n have_v he_o plant_v so_o many_o church_n in_o the_o faith_n of_o christ_n and_o yet_o know_v he_o not_o christ_n for_o answer_v hereunto_o to_o omit_v that_o knowledge_n which_o be_v by_o vision_n in_o heaven_n when_o we_o shall_v see_v he_o face_n to_o face_n we_o must_v understand_v that_o there_o be_v two_o sort_n of_o knowledge_n of_o christ_n here_o on_o earth_n

out_o of_o love_n with_o that_o restless_a and_o wretched_a life_n and_o may_v long_v after_o that_o life_n where_o there_o shall_v be_v no_o more_o death_n nor_o sorrow_n nor_o cry_v nor_o pain_n be_v for_o a_o year_n what_o if_o for_o twenty_o what_o if_o for_o thy_o whole_a life_n when_o the_o lord_n have_v punish_v his_o people_n with_o 70._o year_n captivity_n for_o a_o moment_n say_v he_o 54.8_o es_fw-ge 54.8_o in_o my_o anger_n i_o hide_v my_o face_n from_o thou_o for_o a_o little_a season_n but_o with_o everlasting_a love_n have_v i_o have_v compassion_n on_o thou_o seventie_o year_n four_o day_n together_o in_o hope_n of_o health_n for_o ever_o after_o what_o then_o if_o thy_o potion_n if_o thy_o physic_n if_o thy_o affliction_n be_v for_o 70._o or_o 100_o year_n it_o be_v not_o so_o much_o as_o three_o or_o four_o day_n nor_o so_o much_o as_o three_o or_o four_o hour_n nay_o nothing_o in_o comparison_n of_o eternity_n and_o therefore_o the_o apostle_n very_o well_o call_v the_o affliction_n of_o this_o life_n light_n and_o momentanie_n affliction_n in_o respect_n of_o that_o eternal_a weight_n of_o â—â—ory_n reserve_v for_o they_o that_o stand_v fast_o unto_o the_o bone_n of_o his_o bone_n and_o therefore_o to_o purge_v we_o and_o to_o make_v we_o clean_o he_o wash_v we_o and_o he_o wringe_v we_o with_o affliction_n sackcloth_n and_o haircloth_n be_v it_o as_o how_o great_a how_o above_o measure_n be_v paul_n trouble_n by_o sea_n by_o land_n of_o friend_n of_o enemy_n in_o body_n in_o spirit_n yet_o call_v he_o they_o all_o the_o affliction_n of_o christ_n because_o in_o they_o all_o christ_n suffer_v with_o he_o lazarus_n likewise_o in_o all_o his_o poverty_n sickness_n sore_n grief_n and_o misery_n suffer_v nothing_o wherein_o christ_n be_v not_o partaker_n of_o his_o grief_n and_o if_o all_o the_o pain_n and_o misery_n of_o that_o patient_a job_n be_v now_o upon_o any_o of_o we_o we_o shall_v feel_v nothing_o which_o christ_n feel_v not_o be_v the_o head_n and_o we_o the_o body_n so_o long_o if_o the_o body_n or_o any_o member_n of_o the_o body_n be_v hurt_v shall_v christ_n which_o be_v the_o head_n be_v touch_v with_o the_o point_n of_o it_o o_o what_o a_o great_a comfort_n must_v this_o need_v be_v unto_o all_o the_o child_n of_o god_n here_o be_v a_o notable_a season_n of_o all_o our_o affliction_n if_o we_o be_v poor_a sick_a
