III. 1 The sons of Aaron 5 The Levites are given to the priests for the service of the tabernacle● 11 in stead of the first-born 14 The Levites are numbred by their families 21 The families number and charge of the Gershonites 27 of the Ko●athites 33 of the Merarites 38 The place and charge of Moses and Aaron 40 The first-born are freed by the Levites 44 The overplus are redeemed THese also are the generations of Aaron and Moses in the day that the LORD spake with Moses in mount Sinai 2 And these are the names of the sons of Aaron Nadab the * Exod. 6.23 first-born and Abihu Eleazar and Ithamar 3 These are the names of the sons of Aaron the priests which were anointed † Heb. whose hand be filled whom he consecrated to minister in the priests office 4 * Lev. 10.1 Ch. 26.61 1 Chr. 24.2 And Nadab and Abihu died before the LORD when they offered strange fire before the LORD in the wilderness of Sinai and they had no children and Eleazar and Ithamar ministred in the priests office in the sight of Aaron their father 5 ¶ And the LORD spake unto Moses saying 6 Bring the tribe of Levi near and present them before Aaron the priest that they may minister unto him 7 And they shall keep his charge and the charge of the whole congregation before the tabernacle of the congregation to do the service of the tabernacle 8 And they shall keep all the instruments of the tabernacle of the congregation and the charge of the children of Israel to do the service of the tabernacle 9 And thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron and to his sons they are wholly given unto him out of the children of Israel 10 And thou shalt appoint Aaron and his sons and they shall wait on their priests office and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death 11 ¶ And the LORD spake unte Moses saying 12 And I behold I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel in stead of all the first-born that openeth the matrice among the children of Israel therefore the Levites shall be mine 13 Because all the first-born are mine * Exod. 13.2 Lev. 27.26 Chap. 8.16 Luk. 2.23 for on the day that I smote all the first born in the land of Egypt I hallowed unto me all the first-born in Israel both man and beast mine they shall be I am the LORD 14 ¶ And the LORD spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai saying 15 Number the children of Levi after the house of their fathers by their families every male from a moneth old and upward shalt thou number them 16 And Moses numbred them according to the † Heb. mouth word of the LORD as he was commanded 17 * Gen. 46.11 Exod. 6.16 Ch. 26.57 1 Chro. 6.1 And these were the sons of Levi by their names Gershon and Kohath and Merari 18 And these are the names of the sons of Gershon by their families Libni and Shimei 19 And the sons of Kohath by their families Amram and Izehar Hebron and Uzziel 20 And the sons of Merari by their families Mahli and Mushi these are the families of the Levites according to the house of their fathers 21 Of Gershon was the family of the Libnites and the family

X. 1 The queen of Sheba admireth the wisdom of Solomon 14 Solomons gold 16 His targets 18 The throne of ivory 21 His vessels 24 His presents 26 His chariots and horse 28 His tribute ANd when the * 2 Chr. 9.1 Mat. 12.42 Luk. 11.31 queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD she came to prove him with hard questions 2 And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train with camels that bare spices and very much gold and precious stones and when she was come to Solomon she communed with him of all that was in her heart 3 And Solomon told her all her † Heb. words questions there was not any thing hid from the king which he told her not 4 And when the queen of Sheba had seen all Solomons wisdom and the house that he had built 5 And the meat of his table and the sitting of his servants and the † Heb. standing attendance of his ministers and their apparel and his ‖ Or butlers cup-bearers and his ascent by which he went up unto the house of the LORD there was no more spirit in her 6 And she said to the king It was a true † Heb. word report that I heard in mine own land of thy ‖ Or sayings acts and of thy wisdom 7 Howbeit I beleeved not the words until I came and mine eyes had seen it and behold the hall was not told me † Heb. thou hast added wisdom and goodness to the fame thy wisdom and prosperity exceedeth the fame which I heard 8 Happy are thy men happy are these thy servants which stand continually before thee and that hear thy wisdom 9 Blessed be the LORD thy God which delighted in thee to set thee on the throne of Israel because the LORD loved Israel for ever therefore made he thee king to do judgement and justice 10 And she gave the king an hundred and twenty talents of gold and of spices very great store and precious stones there came no more such abundance of spices as these which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon 11 And the navy also of Hiram that brought gold from Ophir brought in from Ophir great plenty of almug-trees precious stones 12 And the king made of the almug-trees ‖ Or rails † Heb. 〈◊〉 prop. pillars for the house of the LORD and for the kings house harps also and psalteries for singers there came no such * 2 Chr. 9.10 almug trees nor were seen unto this day 13 And king Solomon gave unto the queen of Sheba all her desire whatsoever she asked besides that which Solomon gave her † Heb. according to the hand of king Solomon of his royal bounty so she turned and went to her own countrey she and her servants 14 ¶ Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred threescore and six talents of gold 15 Besides that he had of the merchant-men and of the traffick of the spice-merchants and of all the kings of Arabia and of the ‖ Or captains governours of the countrey 16 ¶ And king Solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold six hundred shekels of gold went to one target 17 And he made three hundred shields of beaten gold three pound of gold went to one shield and the king put them in the * Chap. 7.2 house of the forrest of Lebanon 18 ¶ Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory and overlaid it with the best gold 19 The throne had six steps and the top of the throne was round † Heb. on the hinder pa●e thereof behinde and there were † Heb. hands stays on either side on the place of the seat and two lions stood beside the stays 20 And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps there was not † Heb. s● the like made in any kingdom 21 ¶ And all king Solomons drinking-vessels were of gold and all the vessels of the house of the forrest of Lebanon were of pure gold ‖ Or there was no silver in them none were of silver it was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon 22 For the king had at sea a navy of Tharshish with the navy of Hiram once in three years came the navy of Tharshish bringing gold and silver ‖ Or elephant● t●eth ivory and apes and peacocks 23 So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom 24 ¶ And all the earth † Heb. sou●ht the fa●e of sought to Solomon to hear his wisdom which God had put in his heart 25 And they brought every man his present vessels of silver and vessels of gold and garments and armour and spices horses and mules a rate year by year 26 ¶ * 2 Chr. 1.14 And Solomon gathered together chariots and hors-men and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots and twelve thousand hors-men whom he bestowed in the cities for chariots and with the king at Jerusalem 27 And the king † Heb. gave made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones and cedars made he to be as the sycomore-trees that are in the vale for abundance 28 ¶ * 1 Chr. 1.16 9.28 † Heb.
