handmaid_n and_o servant_n to_o further_o the_o course_n and_o not_o hinder_v the_o proceed_n therefore_o this_o must_v remain_v inviolable_a as_o ground_v on_o the_o law_n of_o god_n and_o man_n that_o courteous_a and_o godly_a salutation_n be_v very_o commendable_a then_o boaz._n now_o in_o these_o three_o verse_n follow_v ensue_v the_o communication_n have_v with_o his_o servant_n who_o ruth_n be_v unto_o which_o his_o servant_n tell_v or_o answer_v in_o the_o 6._o and_o 7._o verse_n first_o that_o it_o be_v ruth_n which_o come_v with_o naomi_n from_o the_o country_n of_o moab_n second_o that_o she_o ask_v he_o leave_v to_o gather_v among_o the_o sheaf_n three_o that_o she_o come_v but_o that_o morning_n and_o have_v continue_v till_o that_o instant_n where_o we_o see_v the_o carefulness_n of_o boaz_n in_o do_v good_a will_v know_v the_o person_n whether_o they_o be_v worthy_a or_o not_o and_o the_o faithfulness_n of_o the_o servant_n which_o so_o plain_o declare_v the_o truth_n to_o his_o master_n and_o this_o be_v the_o pure_a meaning_n of_o the_o word_n other_o doctrine_n can_v none_o be_v draw_v from_o hence_o and_o therefore_o let_v we_o give_v praise_n to_o god_n for_o that_o which_o have_v be_v speak_v the_o end_n of_o the_o five_o lecture_n the_o sixth_o lecture_n chap._n 2._o verse_n 8_o 9_o 10_o 11_o 12_o 13_o 14._o 8_o then_o say_v boas_n to_o of_o israel_n under_o who_o wing_n thou_o be_v come_v to_o trust_v 13_o then_o she_o say_v let_v i_o find_v favour_n in_o thy_o sight_n my_o lord_n for_o thou_o have_v comfort_v i_o &_o speak_v to_o the_o hart_n of_o thy_o handmaid_n yet_o i_o shall_v not_o be_v like_a to_o one_o of_o thy_o maid_n 14_o and_o boaz_n say_v unto_o she_o at_o meal_n time_n come_v thou_o hither_o and_o eat_v of_o the_o bread_n and_o dip_v thy_o morsel_n in_o the_o vinegar_n and_o she_o sit_v beside_o the_o reaper_n etc._n etc._n in_o these_o word_n the_o holy_a ghost_n declare_v the_o communication_n which_o boaz_n have_v with_o ruth_n for_o so_o soon_o as_o he_o understand_v who_o she_o be_v he_o turn_v his_o speech_n from_o the_o man_n to_o the_o woman_n this_o conference_n according_a to_o the_o number_n of_o the_o person_n have_v two_o part_n the_o first_o be_v of_o boaz_n and_o the_o second_o of_o ruth_n the_o first_o part_n which_o respect_v boaz_n be_v the_o singular_a courtesy_n he_o offer_v to_o ruth_n ver_fw-la 8.9.14_o wherein_o first_o he_o bid_v she_o to_o glean_v free_o among_o his_o maiden_n not_o only_o in_o that_o field_n but_o also_o wheresoever_o the_o reaper_n bestow_v themselves_o second_o he_o command_v his_o servant_n that_o they_o do_v she_o no_o injury_n but_o give_v she_o drink_v when_o she_o be_v thirsty_a and_o himself_o call_v she_o to_o meat_n and_o give_v she_o so_o liberal_o that_o she_o be_v suffice_v leave_v for_o her_o mother_n the_o other_o part_n which_o concern_v ruth_n be_v her_o manner_n of_o behaviour_n to_o this_o courteous_a entertainment_n of_o boaz_n wherein_o first_o she_o bow_v herself_o to_o the_o ground_n verse_n 10_o second_o she_o confess_v the_o greatness_n of_o his_o kindness_n in_o the_o same_o verse_n because_o she_o be_v a_o stranger_n and_o her_o unworthiness_n of_o any_o benefit_n vers_fw-la 13_o because_o she_o shall_v be_v as_o one_o of_o his_o maiden_n for_o this_o speech_n of_o ruth_n boaz_n show_v the_o cause_n of_o all_o his_o courtesy_n ver_fw-la 11._o because_o she_o have_v deal_v so_o well_o with_o her_o mother_n in_o law_n and_o have_v forsake_v country_n and_o kindred_n to_o come_v to_o the_o people_n of_o god_n therefore_o she_o deserve_v to_o be_v honourable_o entreat_v second_o he_o pray_v for_o she_o ver_fw-la 12_o that_o the_o lord_n will_v not_o frustrate_v his_o promise_n deceive_v her_o hope_n but_o recompense_v her_o labour_n and_o shield_v she_o with_o his_o wing_n of_o these_o part_n let_v we_o speak_v in_o order_n as_o the_o spirit_n shall_v give_v utterance_n and_o the_o time_n permit_v then_o say_v boaz._n so_o soon_o as_o he_o understand_v who_o that_o woman_n be_v whereof_o he_o have_v demand_v his_o servant_n he_o turn_v his_o speech_n unto_o she_o that_o so_o soon_o as_o may_v be_v he_o may_v comfort_v her_o afflict_a poverty_n and_o testify_v any_o good_a will_n to_o a_o godly_a stranger_n where_o first_o of_o all_o it_o be_v commendable_a that_o he_o vouchsafe_v to_o call_v so_o base_a a_o person_n by_o the_o name_n of_o daughter_n for_o true_o this_o love_a word_n bewray_v the_o tender_a affection_n of_o a_o godly_a heart_n forget_v his_o lofty_a degree_n and_o call_v a_o abject_a stranger_n by_o the_o name_n of_o daughter_n which_o prove_v that_o he_o long_v to_o give_v unto_o she_o some_o comfort_n of_o kindness_n this_o humble_a and_o most_o tender_a title_n of_o daughter_n and_o son_n be_v very_o usual_a in_o the_o scripture_n for_o when_o the_o lord_n will_v comfort_v the_o church_n of_o the_o jew_n against_o the_o blasphemy_n of_o senacherib_n &_o rabsakeh_n he_o call_v it_o a_o virgin_n the_o daughter_n of_o zion_n 22_o as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v even_o as_o a_o father_n be_v careful_a for_o the_o wealth_n of_o his_o daughter_n 23.28_o so_o do_v i_o watch_v for_o the_o welfare_n of_o my_o church_n in_o like_a manner_n christ_n our_o saviour_n comfort_v the_o woman_n that_o weep_v at_o his_o death_n by_o the_o name_n of_o the_o daughter_n of_o jerusalem_n out_o of_o the_o which_o we_o gather_v this_o profitable_a doctrine_n that_o it_o be_v one_o property_n and_o duty_n of_o a_o humble_a mind_n to_o speak_v kind_o where_o it_o wish_v
