of_o this_o sacrament_n wherein_o three_o thing_n be_v to_o be_v speak_v to_o 1._o the_o outward_a ordinance_n or_o outward_a sign_n 2._o the_o inward_a and_o spiritual_a mystery_n thereby_o signify_v 3._o the_o command_n for_o the_o observe_v this_o ordinance_n 1._o the_o outward_a ordinance_n or_o sacrament_n proper_o so_o call_v consist_v 1._o of_o certain_a element_n or_o material_n viz._n bread_n and_o wine_n 2._o of_o sundry_a rite_n and_o sacramental_a action_n appertain_v thereunto_o 1._o our_o saviour_n take_v bread_n and_o give_v thanks_o and_o so_o also_o the_o cup._n he_o practice_n of_o these_o thing_n 1._o betake_v thyself_o to_o some_o retire_a privacy_n and_o sequester_v thyself_o from_o worldly_a care_n and_o business_n labour_v to_o bring_v thy_o mind_n into_o a_o good_a calm_a sedate_n frame_v and_o fitness_n for_o this_o great_a work_n 2._o earnest_o beg_v of_o god_n to_o give_v thou_o the_o assistance_n of_o his_o holy_a spirit_n to_o enable_v thou_o to_o fit_v thyself_o for_o this_o solemn_a ordinance_n 3._o serious_o consider_v the_o danger_n of_o receive_v this_o sacrament_n unworthy_o that_o be_v without_o such_o a_o disposition_n of_o mind_n and_o such_o a_o preparation_n of_o heart_n and_o such_o reverence_n and_o devotion_n as_o be_v agreeable_a unto_o so_o holy_a a_o ordinance_n such_o person_n as_o be_v not_o so_o fit_v and_o yet_o approach_v to_o this_o holy_a table_n be_v guilty_a of_o profane_v this_o sacrament_n which_o be_v the_o commemoration_n of_o christ_n death_n and_o of_o vilify_a the_o sign_n and_o pledge_n of_o his_o body_n and_o blood_n and_o so_o incur_v the_o danger_n of_o temporal_a judgement_n and_o chastisement_n here_o and_o without_o repentance_n of_o eternal_a hereafter_o 4._o serious_o consider_v what_o be_v require_v to_o a_o worthy_a receive_n and_o here_o a_o twofold_a caution_n be_v to_o be_v observe_v 1._o that_o the_o pitch_n of_o worthiness_n be_v not_o to_o be_v set_v too_o high_a so_o speculative_a float_a or_o swim_v in_o the_o brain_n but_o a_o knowledge_n that_o affect_v the_o heart_n and_o work_n upon_o the_o affection_n it_o be_v such_o a_o knowledge_n of_o god_n as_o cause_v the_o heart_n to_o fear_v he_o such_o a_o knowledge_n of_o sin_n as_o work_n in_o the_o heart_n a_o hatred_n and_o loathe_n of_o it_o 2._o it_o be_v a_o humble_v knowledge_n knowledge_n not_o sanctify_v puff_v up_o 1_o cor._n 8.1_o but_o the_o more_o any_o soul_n be_v save_o enlighten_v the_o more_o it_o see_v and_o be_v sensible_a of_o its_o own_o folly_n and_o corruption_n and_o great_a
