lawful_a work_n of_o their_o call_n neither_o in_o provide_v meat_n drink_n clothes_n or_o other_o necessary_n on_o the_o lord_n day_n with_o a_o bare_a respect_n of_o natural_a good_a and_o worldly_a profitt_a because_o this_o be_v do_v of_o his_o own_o way_n and_o work_n and_o not_o the_o work_n of_o god_n unto_o which_o god_n holy_a day_n be_v whole_o consecrate_v and_o set_v apart_o except_o only_o in_o case_n of_o necessity_n when_o man_n and_o beast_n can_v otherwise_o be_v preserve_v in_o life_n health_n and_o be_v or_o when_o god_n people_n without_o such_o work_n can_v be_v make_v fit_a &_o able_a to_o serve_v god_n cheerful_o as_o they_o ought_v on_o that_o day_n so_o also_o no_o bodily_a sport_n recreation_n and_o pleasure_n be_v to_o be_v tolerate_v or_o use_v mere_o to_o cherish_v the_o flesh_n to_o refresh_v the_o body_n and_o to_o procure_v bodily_a strength_n but_o only_o such_o as_o be_v in_o very_a deed_n needful_a in_o themselves_o and_o use_v and_o intend_v by_o god_n people_n with_o this_o purpose_n and_o â—o_o this_o end_n that_o they_o may_v with_o more_o ability_n alacrity_n and_o cheerfulness_n do_v the_o holy_a work_n and_o perform_v the_o holy_a duty_n of_o god_n worship_n and_o service_n which_o be_v proper_a to_o the_o lord_n holy_a day_n first_o this_o be_v manifest_a by_o the_o word_n of_o the_o lord_n isa._n 58.13_o where_o he_o require_v of_o his_o people_n that_o they_o turn_v away_o their_o foot_n from_o do_v their_o own_o pleasure_n on_o his_o holy_a day_n and_o call_v the_o sabbath_n a_o delight_n the_o holy_a of_o the_o lord_n honourable_a and_o honour_v he_o not_o do_v their_o own_o way_n nor_o find_v their_o own_o pleasure_n by_o their_o own_o way_n and_o pleasure_n we_o be_v to_o understand_v not_o only_o their_o corrupt_a sinful_a work_n filthy_a word_n and_o vain_a carnal_a pleasure_n which_o proceed_v from_o nature_n corrupt_a and_o natural_o tend_v to_o increase_v transgression_n for_o they_o be_v to_o natural_a and_o civil_a pleasure_n which_o be_v neither_o useful_a to_o help_v and_o further_o we_o in_o holy_a devotion_n nor_o intend_v by_o we_o to_o that_o end_n be_v a_o profanation_n of_o god_n holy_a day_n and_o a_o intermingle_v of_o our_o own_o prophannesse_n

law_n and_o reveal_v will_n of_o god_n all_o his_o day_n without_o one_o day_n intermission_n therefore_o the_o sabbath_n which_o require_v service_n of_o god_n and_o worship_n &_o love_n of_o he_o as_o merciful_a a_o redeemer_n and_o that_o upon_o one_o day_n of_o the_o week_n more_o than_o all_o the_o rest_n be_v not_o know_v nor_o command_v nor_o observe_v by_o nature_n in_o the_o state_n of_o innocency_n four_o the_o law_n of_o nature_n write_v in_o man_n heart_n require_v no_o particular_a duty_n but_o such_o as_o his_o own_o natural_a reason_n and_o will_n do_v direct_a &_o lead_v or_o have_v any_o thought_n of_o he_o at_o all_o as_o for_o natural_a gift_n and_o blessing_n he_o be_v by_o they_o admonish_v and_o provoke_v every_o day_n alike_o to_o love_n serve_v honour_n and_o praise_n god_n wherefore_o see_v the_o work_n and_o duty_n of_o the_o sabbath_n be_v holy_a and_o tend_v only_a or_o chief_o to_o the_o supernatural_a and_o heavenlâ—_n life_n and_o to_o the_o eternal_a rest_n which_o christ_n have_v purchase_v in_o heaven_n for_o man_n undoubted_o the_o law_n of_o the_o sabbath_n which_o express_o command_v such_o work_n and_o duty_n every_o seven_o day_n all_o man_n kind_n and_o be_v write_v as_o well_o in_o the_o heart_n of_o heathen_a as_o of_o christian_n so_o that_o the_o conscience_n of_o man_n who_o never_o hear_v of_o god_n or_o of_o his_o word_n be_v a_o monitor_n to_o admonish_v they_o of_o the_o duty_n which_o that_o law_n require_v and_o a_o accuser_n if_o they_o transgress_v that_o law_n and_o man_n have_v no_o more_o need_n to_o the_o heart_n of_o barbarous_a heathen_a nation_n it_o be_v quite_o forgoten_a among_o they_o and_o only_a god_n people_n who_o have_v his_o write_a law_n and_o word_n continual_o read_v and_o preach_v do_v keep_v the_o sabbath_n and_o god_n in_o give_v it_o to_o israel_n in_o write_a table_n &_o in_o repeat_v it_o often_o afterwards_o still_o call_v upon_o they_o to_o remember_v it_o thereby_o show_v that_o it_o be_v not_o as_o the_o law_n of_o nature_n print_v in_o man_n heart_n but_o be_v a_o law_n give_v by_o word_n and_o writing_n and_o from_o thence_o learned_a and_o therefore_o easy_o and_o quick_o forget_v six_o if_o it_o be_v a_o natural_a law_n found_v upon_o the_o creation_n and_o bind_v man_n to_o keep_v a_o weekly_a holy_a day_n in_o thankfulness_n for_o his_o creation_n and_o for_o the_o creature_n make_v for_o his_o use_n than_o it_o shall_v in_o all_o reason_n bind_v man_n to_o keep_v holy_a the_o six_o day_n in_o which_o god_n create_v all_o thing_n and_o especial_o the_o six_o day_n wherein_o god_n make_v man_n himself_o and_o give_v he_o rule_v and_o dominion_n over_o all_o creature_n for_o holy_a celebration_n be_v keep_v weekly_a or_o yearly_a one_o the_o day_n in_o which_o the_o blessing_n and_o benefit_n solemnize_v and_o celebrate_v be_v first_o bestow_v one_o man_n therefore_o it_o be_v not_o a_o natural_a law_n ground_v on_o the_o creation_n last_o christ_n come_v not_o to_o change_v the_o law_n of_o nature_n nor_o to_o take_v away_o any_o part_n of_o the_o obedience_n thereof_o but_o to_o establish_v and_o fulfil_v it_o
