be_v as_o it_o be_v the_o set_n of_o the_o sun_n upon_o we_o and_o leave_v we_o many_o time_n so_o much_o in_o the_o dark_a as_o to_o make_v we_o at_o a_o loss_n as_o to_o all_o our_o spiritual_a comfort_n and_o bring_v we_o indeed_o into_o a_o second_o wilderness_n give_v i_o leave_v to_o illustrate_v this_o by_o a_o parable_n unconversion_n a_o parable_n the_o first_o apostasy_n of_o our_o heart_n the_o state_n of_o unconversion_n suppose_v a_o woman_n in_o a_o cross_a humour_n leave_v her_o husband_n and_o forsake_v his_o house_n make_v as_o she_o intend_v for_o some_o friend_n house_n that_o may_v receive_v she_o and_o where_o she_o may_v better_o indulge_v she_o own_o mind_n and_o cocker_v she_o own_o will_n and_o spirit_n but_o miss_v of_o the_o way_n light_n into_o a_o wilderness_n and_o lose_v herself_o and_o anon_o the_o night_n overtake_v she_o now_o she_o weep_v and_o wail_n conviction_n the_o state_n of_o conviction_n but_o there_o be_v none_o to_o comfort_v she_o she_o listen_v and_o harkn_v if_o she_o may_v happy_o hear_v the_o voice_n of_o any_o guide_n but_o in_o stead_n of_o the_o voice_n of_o a_o man_n to_o comfort_v she_o there_o be_v the_o roar_n of_o all_o the_o devour_a beast_n to_o affright_v she_o she_o be_v afraid_a to_o call_v out_o for_o help_n lest_o by_o such_o intelligence_n the_o ravenous_a beast_n find_v she_o and_o seize_v upon_o asleep_a again_o be_v heavy_a with_o sleep_n conver_o darkness_n through_o god_n withdraw_v bewildr_v after_o conver_o at_o length_n the_o night_n come_v on_o again_o and_o her_o husband_n withdraw_v himself_o she_o wake_v but_o be_v near_o the_o border_n of_o the_o wilderness_n still_o she_o hear_v yet_o again_o the_o roar_n almost_o as_o light_o perhaps_o as_o when_o she_o be_v in_o the_o midst_n of_o the_o wilderness_n she_o
some_o sad_a season_n in_o the_o dark_a and_o bear_v not_o only_o feel_v the_o indignation_n of_o the_o lord_n 4._o but_o at_o length_n god_n shall_v plead_v the_o cause_n of_o such_o a_o soul_n and_o dark_a dungeon_n and_o have_v never_o see_v the_o light_n it_o be_v not_o so_o much_o for_o he_o to_o be_v continual_o keep_v in_o those_o chain_n of_o darkness_n but_o for_o a_o man_n that_o come_v out_o of_o a_o light_a room_n to_o walk_v in_o dark_a way_n oh_o this_o be_v sad_a and_o sad_o dangerous_a he_o may_v the_o soon_o stumble_v because_o he_o come_v from_o the_o light_n now_o this_o darkness_n the_o child_n of_o light_n meet_v withal_o whilst_o they_o have_v too_o much_o to_o do_v with_o the_o world_n and_o second_o with_o this_o world_n world_n 1._o the_o dark_a thing_n of_o the_o world_n 1._o the_o world_n will_v be_v as_o it_o have_v ever_o be_v a_o hindrance_n to_o the_o people_n of_o another_o world_n conversion_n indeed_o call_v we_o out_o of_o the_o world_n yet_o after_o conversion_n how_o ready_a be_v we_o to_o be_v tempt_v back_o into_o the_o world_n and_o true_o as_o soon_o as_o we_o be_v in_o the_o world_n again_o so_o soon_o shall_v we_o be_v in_o the_o wilderness_n again_o i_o mean_v so_o soon_o as_o we_o begin_v to_o walk_v in_o the_o custom_n &_o after_o the_o fashion_n of_o this_o world_n oh_o conversion_n for_o the_o present_a bear_v we_o up_o and_o hence_o be_v our_o bewildring_n after_o conversion_n satan_n to_o get_v we_o to_o they_o make_v huge_a use_n of_o darkness_n of_o the_o world_n eph._n 6.12_o we_o wrestle_v against_o the_o affection_n and_o make_v they_o at_o a_o loss_n as_o to_o the_o beauty_n of_o holiness_n confidence_n confidence_n how_o do_v our_o dark_a confidence_n in_o worldly_a support_n bring_v the_o act_n of_o our_o faith_n to_o a_o loss_n when_o they_o be_v pure_o call_v forth_o and_o summon_v to_o follow_v aftr_n god_n alone_o hope_n hope_n how_o do_v our_o dark_a hope_n in_o worldly_a vanity_n render_v we_o lose_v creature_n almost_o when_o we_o have_v nothing_o but_o the_o anchor_n of_o spiritual_a hope_n to_o take_v hold_n upon_o how_o be_v we_o bewilder_v in_o the_o dark_a joy_n of_o this_o world_n joy_n joy_n so_o that_o we_o little_o know_v what_o it_o be_v to_o have_v the_o joy_n of_o the_o lord_n for_o our_o strength_n thus_o worldly_a fear_n and_o worldly_a love_n etc._n fear_n love_n etc._n etc._n be_v dark_a principle_n and_o the_o more_o you_o find_v of_o they_o the_o more_o you_o feel_v we_o be_v at_o a_o loss_n for_o the_o contrary_a spiritual_a grace_n now_o the_o old_a serpent_n be_v the_o ruler_n of_o all_o this_o darkness_n therefore_o he_o will_v order_v it_o the_o most_o politic_o that_o possible_o he_o can_v that_o thereby_o he_o may_v the_o more_o effectual_o bewild_a poor_a convert_v one_o i_o have_v hear_v of_o a_o commander_n simile_n simile_n who_o be_v in_o the_o field_n and_o in_o danger_n of_o be_v surprise_v by_o the_o power_n and_o number_n of_o the_o prevail_a enemy_n in_o the_o same_o field_n cause_v a_o good_a quantity_n of_o powder_n to_o be_v cast_v on_o the_o ground_n betwixt_o he_o and_o his_o approach_a enemy_n and_o surprise_v some_o of_o satan_n follower_n this_o ruler_n cause_v some_o of_o these_o worldly_a delight_n etc._n etc._n to_o flash_n betwixt_o they_o and_o god_n the_o flash_n be_v but_o short_a the_o pleasure_n of_o sin_n soon_o go_v but_o the_o smoke_n continue_v it_o darkness_n the_o air_n and_o give_v satan_n advantage_n not_o only_o to_o carry_v his_o own_o man_n but_o too_o too_o often_o
