must_v needs_o be_v our_o enemy_n because_o we_o fight_v against_o he_o and_o with_o might_n and_o main_n make_v such_o war_n as_o that_o we_o violate_v and_o break_v all_o order_n of_o justice_n shall_v prophesy_v whereby_o he_o declare_v that_o both_o old_a and_o young_a shall_v be_v partaker_n of_o the_o grace_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v not_o now_o needful_a for_o we_o to_o seek_v for_o any_o gloze_n to_o understand_v the_o meaning_n of_o the_o prophet_n in_o this_o speech_n all_o flesh_n because_o the_o very_a text_n sufficient_o show_v his_o meaning_n now_o when_o he_o say_v that_o the_o young_a man_n shall_v prophesy_v he_o speak_v then_o according_a to_o the_o manner_n of_o the_o time_n in_o those_o day_n because_o god_n use_v these_o two_o god_n will_v show_v himself_o unto_o his_o prophet_n by_o vision_n &_o speak_v unto_o they_o in_o dream_n but_o it_o be_v say_v that_o he_o will_v speak_v with_o his_o servant_n moses_n mouth_n to_o mouth_n howbeit_o it_o may_v be_v allege_v that_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o law_n &_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o gospel_n be_v not_o like_a &_o that_o although_o god_n manifest_v himself_o unto_o the_o prophet_n in_o the_o old_a testament_n yet_o will_v he_o not_o show_v himself_o unto_o we_o after_o that_o sort_n to_o answer_v this_o it_o be_v to_o be_v consider_v that_o although_o the_o prophet_n
use_v these_o term_n yet_o do_v he_o it_o only_o to_o fit_v himself_o unto_o the_o time_n wherein_o he_o be_v because_o we_o shall_v not_o say_v but_z that_o we_o have_v a_o great_a measure_n of_o knowledge_n for_o to_o say_v true_o god_n never_o show_v himself_o so_o manifest_o in_o the_o old_a testament_n as_o he_o have_v now_o do_v to_o we_o by_o jesus_n christ_n for_o where_o god_n have_v appoint_v the_o offering_n to_o be_v sacrifice_v in_o the_o old_a law_n which_o be_v but_o figure_n and_o shadow_n to_o be_v oftentimes_o use_v that_o it_o may_v be_v see_v that_o man_n can_v not_o come_v near_o unto_o god_n but_o by_o the_o mean_a of_o a_o mediator_n we_o have_v at_o this_o present_a the_o personal_a presence_n of_o the_o mediator_n himself_o who_o once_o for_o all_o have_v fulfil_v every_o thing_n by_o his_o alone_a sacrifice_n and_o therefore_o there_o be_v now_o no_o sacrifice_n to_o be_v do_v for_o the_o purge_n and_o sanctifi_v of_o sin_n 1.11_o mala._n 1.11_o but_o only_o the_o sacrifice_n of_o thanksgiving_n unto_o our_o god_n who_o therewith_o be_v well_o please_v through_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n and_o although_o it_o be_v say_v in_o the_o scripture_n that_o at_o the_o come_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n altar_n shall_v be_v set_v up_o throughout_o the_o whole_a world_n to_o sacrifice_n unto_o the_o lord_n our_o god_n yet_o must_v we_o leave_v the_o figure_n and_o rest_n in_o the_o truth_n for_o inasmuch_o as_o the_o altar_n be_v a_o sign_n of_o the_o worship_n of_o god_n because_o it_o be_v say_v that_o sacrifice_n shall_v be_v do_v all_o the_o world_n through_o the_o meaning_n be_v that_o god_n shall_v universal_o be_v worship_v no_o doubt_n of_o it_o the_o pope_n with_o all_o his_o college_n of_o cardinal_n and_o all_o other_o his_o dear_a friend_n the_o romanistes_n will_v conclude_v upon_o this_o place_n that_o there_o must_v needs_o be_v sacrifice_n have_v and_o therefore_o when_o they_o will_v have_v their_o mass_n allow_v they_o bring_v in_o this_o testimony_n of_o the_o scripture_n howbeit_o if_o it_o be_v so_o as_o they_o make_v themselves_o believe_v sure_o sure_o they_o must_v needs_o conclude_v that_o jesus_n christ_n have_v not_o yet_o appear_v nor_o that_o his_o kingdom_n be_v yet_o come_v nevertheless_o we_o see_v the_o contrary_n and_o therefore_o see_v the_o prophet_n have_v thus_o say_v it_o be_v not_o only_o to_o show_v that_o god_n shall_v be_v universal_o worship_v in_o spirit_n &_o truth_n and_o not_o in_o figure_n moreover_o here_o be_v to_o be_v note_v that_o the_o say_n of_o prophecy_n be_v not_o mean_v by_o the_o prophet_n to_o tell_v of_o thing_n to_o come_v as_o in_o the_o old_a time_n it_o be_v take_v but_o the_o meaning_n be_v that_o whosoever_o shall_v have_v the_o gift_n of_o prophecy_n shall_v be_v able_a to_o teach_v and_o apply_v doctrine_n to_o the_o end_n we_o may_v be_v bring_v to_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o truth_n and_o profit_n thereby_o and_o so_o the_o promise_n that_o be_v make_v unto_o we_o of_o the_o come_n of_o jesus_n christ_n contain_v thus_o much_o that_o we_o shall_v be_v more_o deep_o see_v in_o heavenly_a thing_n than_o heretofore_o we_o have_v be_v for_o we_o see_v in_o very_a deed_n that_o s._n paul_n call_v it_o the_o wisdom_n of_o god_n 2._o â—_o cor._n 2._o under_o which_o all_o thing_n shall_v be_v subject_a we_o be_v now_o therefore_o brief_o to_o conclude_v upon_o all_o thing_n that_o as_o our_o lord_n in_o send_v jesus_n christ_n his_o son_n into_o the_o world_n to_o make_v unto_o we_o a_o more_o the_o prophet_n joel_n soon_o after_o set_v down_o in_o this_o place_n that_o god_n will_v do_v wonderful_a thing_n in_o heaven_n above_o and_o sign_n in_o the_o earth_n below_o blood_n fire_n and_o vapour_n of_o smoke_n that_o the_o sun_n shall_v be_v turn_v into_o darkness_n and_o the_o moon_n into_o blood_n these_o word_n show_v that_o great_a and_o marvelous_a thing_n must_v come_v to_o pass_v whenas_o jesus_n christ_n shall_v manifest_v himself_o and_o why_o so_o forsooth_o because_o the_o the_o world_n shall_v then_o be_v change_v for_o they_o which_o will_v follow_v jesus_n to_o consider_v that_o the_o great_a benefit_n which_o we_o can_v possible_o have_v be_v to_o be_v partaker_n of_o the_o grace_n of_o his_o holy_a spirit_n and_o this_o be_v the_o most_o excellent_a gift_n which_o god_n bestow_v upon_o we_o in_o respect_n whereof_o all_o the_o worldly_a liberality_n which_o he_o render_v unto_o we_o be_v nothing_o for_o whensoever_o we_o be_v bereave_v of_o this_o gift_n jesus_n christ_n be_v take_v from_o we_o and_o until_o such_o time_n as_o we_o be_v clothe_v with_o he_o all_o whatsoever_o we_o do_v tend_v to_o our_o condemnation_n wherefore_o god_n according_a to_o the_o will_n of_o god_n declare_v in_o his_o word_n be_v i_o say_v the_o child_n of_o god_n and_o they_o without_o all_o doubt_n be_v the_o child_n of_o the_o devil_n who_o follow_v their_o carnal_a affection_n give_v themselves_o over_o to_o their_o pleasure_n and_o delight_n thus_o we_o see_v how_o necessary_a a_o thing_n it_o be_v for_o all_o those_o that_o will_v be_v unto_o all_o but_o we_o be_v so_o accurse_v as_o that_o we_o forsake_v the_o benefit_n which_o he_o will_v bestow_v upon_o us._n and_o herein_o be_v know_v the_o goodness_n of_o god_n to_o we_o ward_n that_o although_o we_o strive_v always_o against_o his_o will_n yet_o cease_v he_o not_o for_o all_o that_o to_o offer_v himself_o unto_o all_o as_o it_o be_v here_o say_v by_o the_o prophet_n that_o young_a and_o old_a man_n and_o woman_n shall_v all_o receive_v of_o one_o and_o the_o self_n same_o spirit_n and_o it_o be_v to_o this_o end_n that_o no_o man_n may_v be_v able_a true_o say_v o_o sir_n i_o be_o utter_o unlearned_a and_o therefore_o it_o be_v impossible_a for_o one_o to_o understand_v the_o scripture_n whereby_o i_o may_v receive_v the_o holy_a ghost_n why_o i_o beseech_v you_o have_v god_n promise_v unto_o the_o learned_a alone_o the_o grace_n of_o his_o holy_a spirit_n &_o to_o none_o other_o now_o sure_o this_o be_v a_o very_a
in_o such_o sort_n neither_o but_o that_o he_o always_o have_v a_o great_a prerogative_n over_o his_o child_n for_o it_o be_v good_a reason_n he_o shall_v be_v the_o head_n of_o his_o church_n and_o to_o say_v the_o truth_n the_o glory_n which_o he_o communicate_v with_o we_o be_v not_o derogatory_n from_o he_o neither_o yet_o be_v it_o thereby_o make_v any_o whit_n less_o howbeit_o we_o must_v be_v transform_v as_o saint_n paul_n say_v to_o the_o phillippian_o 3.21_o phil._n 3.21_o and_o where_o we_o be_v now_o so_o full_a of_o infirmity_n as_o be_v lamentable_a it_o can_v be_v choose_v but_o that_o our_o life_n must_v be_v make_v like_o unto_o the_o heavenly_a life_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n and_o so_o when_o saint_n paul_n speak_v after_o that_o manner_n he_o namely_o have_v regard_n unto_o the_o state_n of_o the_o faithful_a as_o it_o be_v in_o this_o world_n for_o we_o be_v note_v point_a at_o with_o the_o finger_n and_o our_o tongue_n pull_v out_o we_o see_v how_o the_o wicked_a and_o ungodly_a make_v a_o jest_n at_o the_o child_n of_o god_n and_o it_o be_v meet_v we_o shall_v be_v make_v thus_o contemptible_a to_o the_o end_n we_o may_v learn_v to_o look_v for_o no_o glory_n here_o in_o this_o world_n howbeit_o god_n will_v when_o it_o please_v he_o have_v we_o exalt_v above_o they_o all_o but_o his_o meaning_n in_o the_o mean_a while_n be_v throat_n say_v what_o i_o beseech_v you_o good_a sir_n think_v you_o that_o we_o fear_v not_o god_n and_o that_o we_o will_v not_o be_v as_o good_a christian_n as_o the_o rest_n thus_o no_o doubt_n of_o it_o will_v they_o say_v and_o yet_o in_o the_o mean_a while_n a_o man_n shall_v see_v nothing_o in_o they_o but_o wantonness_n and_o all_o ungodliness_n and_o as_o religious_a as_o dog_n and_o swine_n and_o examine_v their_o life_n and_o we_o shall_v find_v they_o altogether_o disloyal_a and_o faithless_a like_o fox_n full_a of_o treason_n perjury_n cruelty_n and_o bitterness_n unto_o their_o neighbour_n give_v to_o all_o kind_n of_o harm_n and_o outrage_n and_o full_a of_o all_o corruption_n so_o that_o whosoever_o give_v they_o most_o they_o will_v be_v sure_a to_o be_v no_o loser_n they_o will_v keep_v open_a shop_n to_o take_v of_o all_o hand_n insomuch_o that_o they_o will_v not_o only_o sell_v their_o faith_n and_o credit_n but_o their_o honour_n and_o honesty_n also_o even_o in_o open_a sight_n and_o will_v keep_v open_a fair_a and_o market_n to_o utter_v all_o wickedness_n to_o be_v short_a they_o will_v show_v themselves_o extreme_a impudent_a contemptuous_a person_n and_o yet_o forsooth_o they_o will_v not_o stick_v to_o brag_v that_o they_o be_v the_o frowarde_a man_n in_o all_o the_o church_n of_o god_n and_o think_v that_o god_n will_v help_v they_o as_o if_o he_o be_v great_o behold_v unto_o they_o and_o therefore_o as_o we_o see_v it_o to_o be_v thus_o at_o this_o day_n even_o so_o the_o prophet_n speak_v to_o those_o that_o be_v in_o his_o day_n say_v what_o what_o kind_n of_o brag_n be_v these_o that_o you_o make_v of_o the_o lord_n come_v why_o think_v you_o to_o receive_v any_o benefit_n by_o his_o come_n no_o no_o but_o be_v assure_v that_o it_o will_v be_v a_o terrible_a and_o a_o most_o fearful_a day_n to_o you_o and_o so_o according_a to_o my_o first_o say_n we_o have_v to_o note_v out_o of_o this_o place_n of_o saint_n paul_n that_o if_o we_o will_v have_v the_o come_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n available_a to_o we_o and_o do_v we_o good_a and_o to_o be_v the_o redeemer_n of_o our_o salvation_n we_o must_v learn_v to_o consecrate_v ourselves_o to_o holiness_n of_o life_n and_o to_o separate_v ourselves_o from_o the_o corruption_n of_o the_o world_n and_o the_o flesh_n and_o thus_o much_o for_o the_o first_o point_n but_o to_o the_o attain_n hereof_o let_v we_o note_v that_o we_o must_v begin_v with_o faith_n according_a to_o that_o which_o we_o have_v late_o say_v for_o to_o say_v true_o scripture_n and_o namely_o saint_n paul_n use_v these_o word_n to_o the_o ephesian_n jesus_n christ_n say_v he_o dwell_v in_o your_o heart_n by_o faith_n 3.17_o ephe._n 3.17_o i_o beseech_v you_o tell_v i_o do_v not_o these_o thing_n hang_v ill_a favored_o together_o that_o jesus_n christ_n dwell_v in_o we_o and_o we_o in_o the_o mean_a while_n give_v ourselves_o to_o all_o villainy_n and_o
