these_o infallible_a note_n such_o as_o never_o will_v deceive_v or_o lead_v we_o aside_o 1._o namely_o these_o by_o the_o evidence_n of_o the_o holy_a spirit_n of_o god_n appear_v and_o shine_v forth_o in_o every_o sentence_n and_o in_o every_o word_n of_o the_o holy_a word_n of_o god_n 2._o by_o the_o purity_n and_o perfection_n of_o the_o word_n 3._o by_o the_o majesty_n of_o it_o in_o the_o plainness_n of_o speech_n by_o the_o power_n it_o have_v over_o the_o conscience_n of_o man_n it_o be_v able_a to_o convert_v the_o soul_n of_o man_n it_o be_v clean_o contrary_a to_o the_o nature_n of_o man_n it_o convert_v the_o soul_n of_o man_n and_o do_v draw_v the_o will_n of_o man_n to_o yield_v obedience_n unto_o it_o it_o be_v a_o divine_a word_n and_o his_o power_n be_v divine_a over_o the_o affection_n and_o heart_n of_o man_n though_o it_o be_v contrary_a to_o man_n will_n yet_o it_o captivate_v it_o to_o its_o power_n 4._o by_o the_o rage_n of_o the_o devil_n word_n of_o god_n to_o be_v effectual_a and_o powerful_a in_o our_o soul_n if_o thou_o find_v the_o power_n of_o the_o word_n work_v upon_o thy_o soul_n not_o only_o to_o thy_o illumination_n and_o enlighten_v but_o to_o the_o work_n of_o holiness_n and_o grace_n in_o thou_o sure_o though_o all_o the_o man_n in_o the_o world_n deny_v scripture_n to_o be_v scripture_n yet_o thy_o heart_n will_v assent_v and_o consent_n unto_o it_o and_o thy_o heart_n season_v by_o grace_n will_v make_v thy_o mouth_n to_o confess_v it_o though_o all_o the_o world_n will_v deny_v it_o yet_o thou_o confess_v ought_v to_o be_v publish_v in_o the_o church_n of_o god_n it_o be_v a_o part_n of_o the_o holy_a word_n of_o god_n and_o a_o portion_n of_o scripture_n write_v and_o reveal_v in_o the_o word_n and_o we_o ought_v to_o take_v notice_n of_o it_o as_o moses_n say_v in_o deut._n 29.29_o thing_n reveal_v belong_v to_o we_o and_o to_o our_o child_n secret_a thing_n belong_v to_o god_n so_o that_o the_o doctrine_n of_o reprobation_n and_o cast_v off_o of_o some_o particular_a person_n among_o man_n aught_o to_o be_v teach_v to_o the_o church_n and_o child_n of_o god_n some_o there_o be_v that_o be_v of_o opinion_n that_o the_o doctrine_n of_o reprobation_n ought_v to_o be_v conceal_v and_o not_o to_o be_v publish_v and_o make_v know_v to_o the_o church_n and_o people_n of_o god_n and_o why_o because_o of_o the_o danger_n of_o it_o say_v they_o for_o as_o they_o conceive_v and_o imagine_v it_o drive_v some_o man_n from_o god_n and_o it_o make_v some_o man_n to_o run_v into_o desperation_n therefore_o say_v they_o it_o be_v to_o be_v conceal_v and_o not_o make_v know_v to_o the_o church_n of_o god_n but_o these_o that_o thus_o think_v they_o be_v deceive_v for_o the_o alienation_n and_o the_o estrang_n of_o man_n mind_n from_o god_n and_o desperation_n be_v not_o the_o fruit_n proper_o follow_v the_o doctrine_n of_o reprobation_n they_o do_v not_o proceed_v and_o come_v from_o and_o by_o that_o doctrine_n proper_o but_o they_o be_v accidental_a effect_n common_o follow_v it_o and_o be_v curse_a fruit_n come_v from_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n and_o so_o the_o fault_n be_v in_o themselves_o and_o not_o in_o the_o doctrine_n of_o reprobation_n the_o doctrine_n itself_o be_v holy_a good_a and_o profitable_a if_o man_n do_v right_o understand_v it_o and_o savour_v it_o aright_o it_o be_v of_o excellent_a use_n and_o very_o necessary_a for_o the_o best_a doctrine_n that_o be_v the_o most_o comfortable_a doctrine_n that_o be_v may_v be_v pervert_v and_o abuse_v sometime_o and_o become_v savour_n of_o some_o to_o their_o utter_a destruction_n as_o the_o doctrine_n of_o save_a faith_n in_o christ_n jesus_n and_o his_o merit_n be_v savour_v of_o some_o to_o their_o utter_a destruction_n and_o therefore_o ought_v it_o not_o to_o be_v publish_v it_o be_v a_o weak_a insufficient_a argument_n to_o prove_v that_o the_o doctrine_n of_o reprobation_n ought_v not_o to_o be_v make_v know_v because_o of_o these_o accidental_a effect_n because_o some_o through_o their_o own_o corruption_n be_v cause_v to_o run_v into_o alienation_n from_o god_n and_o desperation_n whereas_o the_o doctrine_n of_o reprobation_n be_v of_o necessary_a use_n it_o serve_v much_o to_o commend_v and_o set_v forth_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n and_o the_o riches_n of_o his_o mercy_n to_o his_o choose_a child_n and_o it_o stir_v up_o the_o child_n of_o god_n to_o a_o great_a measure_n of_o thankfulness_n for_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n bestow_v upon_o they_o when_o they_o consider_v that_o god_n have_v choose_v they_o and_o refuse_v and_o reject_v other_o this_o stir_v they_o up_o to_o magnify_v the_o mercy_n of_o god_n and_o then_o do_v the_o soul_n of_o a_o child_n
