for_o than_o thy_o conscience_n will_v accuse_v and_o lay_v to_o thy_o charge_n every_o one_o of_o they_o in_o order_n thou_o have_v set_v my_o misdeed_n before_o i_o and_o my_o secret_a sin_n in_o the_o sight_n of_o thy_o countenance_n say_v david_n again_o in_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n what_o anger_n what_o envy_n what_o malice_n lurk_v therein_o and_o they_o pass_v it_o over_o and_o think_v it_o no_o matter_n well_o know_v belove_v that_o unless_o you_o repent_v of_o the_o very_a thought_n of_o the_o heart_n even_o these_o thing_n will_v be_v find_v write_v in_o the_o book_n at_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n and_o what_o a_o lamentable_a thing_n will_v that_o be_v thought_n 2._o our_o thought_n second_o as_o conscience_n be_v privy_a to_o all_o our_o thought_n and_o will_v accuse_v we_o of_o they_o at_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n so_o all_o our_o speech_n be_v note_v therein_o what_o a_o number_n of_o wicked_a speech_n pass_v out_o of_o the_o mouth_n of_o wicked_a and_o vain_a man_n and_o woman_n what_o horrible_a and_o blasphemous_a oath_n what_o curse_v speak_v lie_a and_o slander_v now_o a_o wicked_a person_n that_o thus_o abuse_v his_o tongue_n so_o many_o thousand_o time_n in_o a_o day_n he_o can_v for_o his_o life_n remember_v they_o well_o know_v that_o every_o sinful_a word_n thou_o speak_v be_v write_v in_o this_o book_n there_o it_o be_v record_v and_o when_o this_o book_n of_o thy_o conscience_n shall_v be_v open_v it_o will_v discover_v all_o thy_o sin_n not_o only_o thy_o filthy_a thought_n but_o every_o wicked_a word_n our_o saviour_n tell_v we_o 12.36_o mat._n 12.36_o that_o we_o must_v give_v a_o account_n of_o every_o wicked_a word_n at_o the_o day_n of_o â—udgement_n for_o though_o man_n labour_v to_o forget_v they_o yet_o they_o be_v write_v in_o their_o conscience_n &_o one_o day_n shall_v come_v to_o judgement_n o_o how_o this_o shall_v awaken_v we_o all_o and_o cause_v we_o to_o look_v unto_o our_o life_n to_o make_v a_o covenant_n with_o our_o eye_n as_o job_n do_v and_o to_o set_v a_o watch_n before_o our_o mouth_n as_o david_n do_v and_o to_o lay_v aside_o our_o vain_a oath_n and_o idle_a mirth_n which_o as_o solomon_n say_v can_v want_v iniquity_n see_v one_o day_n they_o must_v all_o of_o they_o come_v to_o judgement_n work_n 3_o our_o work_n three_o if_o we_o come_v unto_o the_o life_n of_o man_n and_o woman_n why_o alas_o they_o be_v nothing_o almost_o but_o a_o continual_a practice_n of_o sin_n as_o the_o sin_n of_o man_n life_n they_o be_v innumerable_a even_o as_o the_o sand_n on_o the_o sea_n shore_n now_o though_o man_n life_n abound_v with_o so_o many_o thousand_o sin_n yet_o we_o see_v man_n perceive_v not_o nor_o know_v not_o one_o quarter_n of_o his_o sin_n it_o may_v be_v he_o know_v down_o against_o this_o day_n of_o account_n now_o see_v what_o be_v mean_v by_o this_o book_n our_o conscience_n and_o likewise_o what_o be_v write_v in_o they_o even_o all_o our_o thought_n word_n and_o work_n let_v we_o come_v to_o see_v what_o use_n we_o be_v to_o make_v of_o this_o doctrine_n first_o hence_o first_o of_o all_o we_o may_v observe_v the_o endless_a love_n and_o mercy_n of_o our_o god_n towards_o we_o foretell_v every_o use_n 1_o one_o of_o we_o now_o of_o the_o open_n of_o these_o book_n that_o our_o conscience_n shall_v be_v lay_v open_a these_o book_n unclasp_v and_o all_o our_o thought_n word_n and_o work_n must_v come_v to_o judgement_n sure_o it_o be_v to_o this_o end_n and_o purpose_n that_o we_o may_v prevent_v the_o danger_n that_o be_v to_o come_v and_o labour_n to_o keep_v a_o good_a conscience_n wash_v and_o purge_v in_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n that_o it_o may_v not_o lay_v to_o our_o charge_n any_o one_o sin_n but_o assure_v we_o that_o we_o be_v in_o the_o favour_n of_o god_n use_v 2_o second_o we_o see_v here_o that_o it_o be_v not_o enough_o for_o a_o man_n or_o a_o woman_n to_o abstain_v from_o evil_a word_n and_o work_n but_o evil_a thought_n likewise_o the_o very_a lust_n of_o the_o heart_n paul_n complain_v of_o this_o 7._o rom._n 7._o and_o peter_n bid_v simon_n magus_n to_o repent_v and_o pray_v 8._o act_n 8._o if_o perhaps_o the_o thought_n of_o his_o heart_n may_v be_v pardon_v i_o doubt_v not_o but_o the_o child_n of_o god_n be_v careful_a over_o their_o very_a thought_n for_o a_o wicked_a carnal_a man_n may_v abstain_v from_o some_o grievous_a sin_n but_o it_o be_v a_o note_n of_o the_o true_a child_n of_o god_n to_o repent_v of_o his_o evil_a thought_n and_o to_o be_v careful_a over_o they_o three_o see_v every_o man_n use_v 3_o conscience_n be_v this_o book_n and_o every_o man_n sin_n be_v pen_v down_o therein_o we_o may_v see_v the_o woeful_a misery_n of_o all_o those_o that_o have_v defile_v conscience_n filthy_a and_o unclean_a heart_n for_o look_v how_o their_o conscience_n do_v accuse_v they_o even_o so_o will_v god_n condemn_v and_o have_v not_o repent_v of_o their_o sin_n they_o carry_v a_o tormentor_n within_o they_o namely_o a_o guilty_a and_o a_o accuse_a conscience_n which_o be_v their_o judge_n to_o condemn_v they_o and_o their_o hell_n to_o torment_v they_o use_v 4_o four_o see_v the_o book_n must_v be_v open_v and_o every_o man_n conscience_n must_v come_v to_o scan_v because_o sentence_n shall_v pass_v and_o judgement_n shall_v be_v award_v accord_v to_o the_o thing_n write_v in_o every_o man_n conscience_n how_o shall_v this_o cause_v we_o all_o both_o minister_n and_o people_n to_o labour_v to_o get_v a_o good_a conscience_n if_o thy_o conscience_n be_v good_a thou_o shall_v not_o fail_v to_o be_v bless_v if_o thy_o conscience_n be_v filthy_a and_o pollute_a thou_o be_v accurse_v conscience_n the_o mean_a to_o get_v a_o good_a conscience_n and_o therefore_o it_o shall_v be_v our_o chief_a care_n our_o chief_a study_n and_o our_o chief_a desire_n all_o our_o life_n time_n to_o keep_v a_o good_a conscience_n now_o if_o you_o ask_v how_o be_v it_o possible_a to_o get_v a_o good_a conscience_n i_o answer_v for_o the_o get_n and_o keep_v of_o faith_n and_o a_o good_a conscience_n we_o must_v know_v that_o it_o be_v do_v by_o the_o use_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n 17._o joh._n 17._o sanctify_v they_o by_o thy_o truth_n thy_o word_n be_v the_o truth_n all_o grace_n of_o god_n spirit_n be_v wrought_v by_o his_o word_n but_o that_o we_o may_v get_v a_o good_a conscience_n we_o must_v first_o repent_v of_o all_o our_o sin_n we_o must_v know_v by_o the_o law_n of_o god_n what_o be_v sin_n &_o what_o be_v not_o second_o we_o must_v know_v the_o heavy_a curse_n of_o god_n even_o for_o sin_n that_o the_o reward_n of_o sin_n be_v death_n eternal_a both_o of_o body_n and_o soul_n for_o man_n do_v by_o nature_n bless_v themselves_o in_o their_o sin_n and_o though_o we_o hear_v of_o god_n judgement_n against_o sin_n yet_o who_o heart_n be_v touch_v and_o trouble_v thus_o man_n run_v on_o still_o in_o sin_n and_o fear_v nothing_o they_o mean_v well_o they_o say_v but_o yet_o live_v ill_a and_o think_v all_o be_v well_o three_o till_o we_o see_v what_o sin_n be_v and_o then_o see_v the_o curse_n of_o god_n due_a to_o sin_n we_o shall_v never_o serious_o try_v our_o conscience_n and_o see_v how_o our_o sin_n have_v wound_v they_o that_o so_o we_o may_v repent_v we_o of_o sin_n four_o we_o must_v be_v grieve_v for_o our_o sin_n we_o must_v acknowledge_v and_o confess_v they_o beg_v for_o pardon_n of_o they_o and_o to_o hunger_n and_o thirst_n after_o christ_n jesus_n for_o there_o be_v nothing_o that_o can_v purify_v the_o conscience_n and_o quiet_a the_o heart_n but_o only_o the_o blood_n of_o jesus_n christ_n apply_v to_o our_o soul_n by_o faith_n with_o persuasion_n of_o the_o forgiveness_n of_o they_o mark_v here_o then_o belove_v when_o a_o man_n be_v thus_o humble_v for_o his_o sin_n and_o beg_v the_o pardon_n of_o they_o earnest_o with_o sigh_n and_o groan_n then_o will_v the_o lord_n send_v down_o into_o his_o soul_n his_o bless_a spirit_n to_o assure_v we_o of_o god_n mercy_n of_o the_o pardon_n of_o our_o sin_n that_o our_o wound_n in_o conscience_n be_v heal_v and_o this_o be_v do_v by_o may_v perceive_v use_v that_o most_o man_n and_o woman_n be_v in_o a_o woeful_a case_n for_o alas_o the_o great_a part_n be_v ignorant_a of_o the_o law_n of_o god_n and_o know_v not_o what_o be_v sin_n and_o what_o be_v not_o sin_n and_o therefore_o can_v possible_o have_v a_o good_a conscience_n for_o 11._o hebr._n 11._o whatsoever_o be_v not_o of_o faith_n be_v sin_n again_o though_o man_n see_v their_o sin_n and_o oftentimes_o their_o conscience_n check_v they_o for_o sin_n yet_o how_o few_o do_v bewail_v their_o sin_n for_o i_o be_o persuade_v that_o there_o be_v not_o so_o wicked_a a_o sinner_n but_o sometime_o his_o conscience_n check_n he_o indeed_o man_n see_v not_o the_o danger_n and_o feel_v not_o the_o wound_n of_o conscience_n because_o now_o their_o book_n be_v clasp_v they_o be_v shut_v up_o their_o sear_a conscience_n be_v now_o asleep_a but_o the_o day_n will_v come_v that_o their_o book_n must_v be_v open_v and_o their_o secret_n declare_v and_o then_o conscience_n will_v accuse_v they_o condemn_v and_o torment_v they_o again_o when_o a_o man_n or_o woman_n have_v get_v a_o good_a conscience_n so_o as_o be_v true_o humble_v for_o their_o sin_n and_o beg_a pardon_n they_o find_v some_o assurance_n of_o god_n love_n in_o christ_n and_o that_o now_o their_o conscience_n do_v not_o accuse_v they_o even_o than_o must_v man_n take_v no_o less_o pain_n to_o keep_v and_o preserve_v a_o good_a conscience_n to_o do_v nothing_o to_o wound_v thy_o conscience_n a_o man_n conscience_n be_v a_o very_a tender_a thing_n pure_a the_o mean_n to_o keep_v our_o conscience_n pure_a it_o be_v like_o the_o apple_n of_o the_o eye_n if_o it_o be_v prick_v but_o with_o a_o pin_n it_o will_v not_o only_o blemish_v the_o eye_n but_o endanger_v the_o sight_n so_o conscience_n it_o be_v a_o tender_a thing_n if_o you_o prick_v it_o by_o sin_n it_o will_v blemish_v thy_o conscience_n wound_v it_o and_o even_o make_v havoc_n of_o thy_o soul_n and_o therefore_o say_v solomon_n counterguard_n thy_o heart_n &_o watch_v over_o thy_o soul_n proverb_n 4.14_o that_o thou_o do_v nothing_o that_o may_v wound_v thy_o conscience_n now_o that_o we_o may_v keep_v these_o book_n of_o account_n our_o conscience_n pure_a and_o good_a we_o must_v do_v two_o thing_n first_o avoid_z all_o thing_n that_o may_v any_o way_n hurt_v a_o good_a conscience_n second_o use_v all_o good_a mean_n and_o help_v to_o cherish_v a_o good_a conscience_n in_o truth_n all_o sin_n hinder_v a_o good_a conscience_n sin_n be_v that_o which_o wound_v the_o soul_n and_o make_v havoc_n of_o a_o good_a conscience_n that_o be_v the_o very_a cutthroat_n of_o man_n soul_n and_o therefore_o if_o you_o will_v keep_v a_o good_a conscience_n take_v heed_n of_o sin_n which_o wound_v a_o good_a conscience_n and_o make_v it_o unable_a to_o stand_v before_o god_n at_o the_o last_o day_n but_o there_o be_v two_o especial_a let_n and_o impediment_n of_o a_o good_a conscience_n first_o ignorance_n of_o the_o law_n and_o the_o word_n of_o god_n for_o when_o a_o man_n know_v not_o what_o be_v sin_n and_o what_o not_o how_o can_v he_o take_v heed_n lest_o he_o wound_v his_o soul_n and_o therefore_o we_o see_v let_v a_o man_n come_v into_o his_o house_n at_o midnight_n he_o can_v see_v nothing_o amiss_o and_o out_o of_o order_n but_o let_v a_o man_n come_v in_o at_o noon_n than_o he_o can_v espy_v the_o least_o disorder_n even_o so_o poor_a blind_a ignorant_a soul_n not_o know_v the_o law_n of_o god_n can_v see_v any_o wound_n in_o conscience_n nor_o nothing_o amiss_o in_o they_o but_o let_v they_o come_v to_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o look_v in_o this_o glass_n than_o they_o shall_v find_v themselves_o much_o out_o of_o order_n to_o have_v wound_v soul_n and_o defile_v conscience_n the_o other_o impediment_n of_o a_o good_a conscience_n be_v worldly_a lust_n namely_o the_o love_n and_o exceed_a desire_n of_o riches_n honour_n pleasure_n etc._n etc._n and_o he_o that_o suffer_v these_o desire_n to_o have_v place_n in_o his_o heart_n he_o can_v possible_o keep_v a_o good_a conscience_n second_o the_o mean_n to_o preserve_v and_o to_o keep_v a_o good_a conscience_n be_v three_o first_o to_o do_v all_o thing_n that_o may_v save_v and_o cherish_v true_a save_v faith_n whereby_o our_o soul_n be_v assure_v of_o the_o love_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n jesu_n for_o the_o pardon_n of_o our_o sin_n for_o faith_n be_v the_o root_n and_o the_o foundation_n of_o a_o good_a conscience_n and_o without_o faith_n there_o can_v be_v no_o good_a conscience_n 10._o rom._n 10._o now_o to_o preserve_v faith_n we_o must_v often_o hear_v and_o read_v the_o word_n of_o god_n repent_v of_o our_o sin_n acknowledge_v and_o confess_v they_o and_o be_v humble_v for_o they_o and_o walk_v in_o the_o duty_n of_o faith_n and_o repentance_n and_o in_o so_o do_v we_o shall_v find_v more_o and_o more_o the_o comfort_n of_o a_o good_a conscience_n and_o therefore_o we_o must_v take_v heed_n we_o do_v nothing_o to_o break_v off_o the_o feel_n of_o god_n love_n or_o to_o wound_v our_o conscience_n second_o we_o must_v endeavour_v in_o all_o thing_n to_o obey_v there_o be_v a_o purpose_n to_o live_v in_o sin_n there_o be_v neither_o faith_n nor_o a_o good_a conscience_n three_o we_o must_v walk_v with_o god_n as_o henoch_n do_v so_o to_o order_v our_o life_n as_o always_o in_o the_o presence_n of_o god_n and_o this_o will_v make_v we_o keep_v a_o good_a conscience_n and_o the_o want_n of_o this_o make_v man_n bold_a to_o sin_n because_o they_o consider_v not_o that_o god_n see_v they_o and_o that_o they_o have_v a_o conscience_n within_o they_o and_o another_o book_n be_v open_v which_o be_v the_o book_n of_o life_n thus_o when_o christ_n have_v examine_v the_o book_n of_o man_n conscience_n to_o view_v what_o be_v therein_o write_v that_o judgement_n may_v be_v award_v thereafter_o now_o he_o show_v that_o he_o will_v open_v a_o second_o book_n even_o the_o book_n of_o life_n life_n what_o be_v mean_v by_o the_o book_n of_o life_n and_o of_o this_o book_n of_o life_n we_o shall_v see_v often_o mention_v in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n both_o in_o the_o old_a and_o new_a testament_n as_o that_o of_o moses_n 32.31.32_o exodus_fw-la 32.31.32_o oh_o this_o people_n have_v grievous_o sin_v therefore_o now_o if_o thou_o pardon_v their_o the_o torment_n of_o hell_n take_v heed_n of_o sin_n of_o every_o evil_a thought_n of_o every_o evil_a word_n and_o of_o every_o evil_a work_n for_o by_o they_o we_o shall_v be_v judge_v at_o the_o will_v break_v their_o covenant_n and_o disannul_v their_o agreement_n and_o although_o they_o have_v live_v a_o long_a time_n in_o sin_n yet_o in_o the_o end_n death_n will_v knock_v at_o their_o door_n and_o he_o will_v lay_v hold_n upon_o they_o and_o they_o must_v pay_v full_a dear_a for_o their_o long_a lease_n even_o the_o loss_n of_o body_n and_o soul_n for_o ever_o and_o be_v not_o this_o the_o practice_n of_o most_o man_n and_o woman_n do_v they_o not_o even_o make_v a_o covenant_n with_o death_n and_o do_v they_o not_o labour_v to_o be_v at_o agreement_n with_o hell_n man_n live_v in_o swear_v lie_a drunkenness_n etc._n etc._n and_o yet_o they_o think_v they_o shall_v never_o die_v they_o think_v they_o shall_v escape_v for_o all_o their_o sin_n but_o poor_a soul_n let_v god_n to_o appear_v at_o the_o bar_n of_o the_o everliving_a and_o most_o mighty_a jehova_n who_o can_v cast_v both_o body_n and_o soul_n into_o hell_n fire_n o_o what_o secure_a and_o careless_a all_o must_v appear_v now_o follow_v in_o the_o three_o place_n the_o most_o special_a and_o principal_a matter_n of_o all_o namely_o after_o what_o manner_n all_o man_n shall_v be_v judge_v in_o these_o word_n and_o the_o book_n were-opened_n etc._n etc._n we_o see_v that_o earthly_a judge_n be_v bring_v unto_o the_o bench_n with_o great_a attendance_n they_o be_v set_v the_o prisoner_n be_v conscience_n who_o can_v deny_v it_o or_o except_v against_o it_o see_v the_o lord_n will_v now_o judge_v a_o man_n not_o by_o another_o man_n conscience_n but_o by_o his_o own_o the_o which_o he_o it_o ought_v to_o persuade_v we_o all_o above_o all_o thing_n in_o the_o world_n to_o look_v unto_o this_o to_o keep_v our_o book_n fair_a for_o if_o our_o conscience_n do_v accuse_v we_o god_n be_v great_a than_o our_o conscience_n and_o do_v know_v all_o thing_n second_o see_v sentence_n must_v pass_v according_a unto_o the_o thing_n write_v in_o our_o book_n and_o these_o be_v not_o only_o the_o gross_a sin_n of_o the_o world_n themselves_o but_o even_o the_o vile_a and_o unclean_a thought_n of_o our_o heart_n even_o these_o must_v come_v to_o judgement_n then_o let_v we_o all_o be_v careful_a to_o avoid_v not_o only_o the_o outward_a action_n themselves_o but_o even_o these_o unclean_a thought_n of_o we_o for_o even_o they_o must_v come_v unto_o judgement_n alas_o man_n think_v thought_n be_v free_a that_o they_o shall_v never_o be_v arraign_v for_o their_o vile_a and_o ungodly_a thought_n but_o s._n paul_n say_v 2.1_o rom._n 2.1_o thought_n shall_v either_o excuse_v or_o and_o far_o from_o merit_n yet_o christ_n say_v very_o of_o my_o truth_n thou_o shall_v not_o loose_v thy_o reward_n 10._o math._n 10._o o_o how_o shall_v this_o persuade_v all_o of_o we_o to_o labour_v to_o abound_v in_o all_o holy_a duty_n to_o be_v liberal_a and_o bountiful_a unto_o the_o poor_a member_n of_o christ_n jesus_n see_v our_o good_a work_n though_o they_o can_v merit_v yet_o they_o shall_v be_v reward_v they_o shall_v not_o be_v forget_v in_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n they_o be_v sweet_a and_o bless_a companion_n when_o all_o our_o friend_n can_v do_v we_o no_o good_a they_o will_v bring_v endless_a peace_n and_o comfort_n to_o our_o soul_n again_o it_o ought_v to_o terrify_v we_o all_o from_o sin_n from_o evil_a work_n and_o ungodly_a way_n from_o swear_v drunkenness_n uncleanenes_n and_o every_o evil_a way_n for_o if_o we_o be_v full_a of_o these_o and_o these_o be_v find_v write_v in_o our_o book_n o_o then_o woe_n unto_o we_o when_o these_o book_n shall_v come_v to_o be_v open_v for_o than_o nothing_o but_o death_n hell_n and_o damnation_n belong_v unto_o us._n here_o we_o see_v that_o of_o all_o wee_a doctr._n 2_o have_v and_o enjoy_v in_o this_o world_n what_o shall_v go_v with_o we_o when_o we_o die_v what_o shall_v accompany_v thou_o in_o the_o grave_n nay_o at_o the_o terrible_a day_n of_o judgement_n our_o conscience_n our_o work_n and_o our_o book_n nothing_o else_o shall_v go_v with_o us._n when_o thou_o die_v thou_o shall_v not_o take_v any_o thing_n in_o the_o world_n with_o thou_o but_o thy_o work_n which_o be_v engrave_v in_o the_o book_n of_o thy_o conscience_n death_n will_v bar_v all_o the_o rest_n thou_o can_v not_o take_v thy_o gold_n and_o silver_n with_o thou_o nor_o thy_o land_n or_o live_n corn_n nor_o cattle_n all_o these_o must_v stay_v behind_o thou_o at_o what_o time_n thou_o die_v only_a thy_o conscience_n thy_o book_n thy_o work_n must_v go_v with_o thou_o if_o they_o be_v good_a oh_o bless_a art_n thou_o that_o ever_o thou_o be_v bear_v if_o they_o be_v wicked_a filthy_a and_o unclean_a oh_o woe_n and_o ten_o thousand_o woe_n i_o say_v to_o thy_o soul_n for_o evermore_o o_o then_o use_v what_o wonderful_a madness_n have_v bewitch_v the_o heart_n and_o soul_n of_o almost_o all_o man_n and_o woman_n in_o the_o world_n what_o do_v man_n desire_v what_o do_v they_o hunger_n and_o thirst_n after_o sure_o for_o pleasure_n for_o profit_n and_o for_o preferment_n for_o these_o they_o ride_v &_o run_v night_n and_o day_n winter_n and_o summer_n by_o sea_n and_o by_o land_n for_o these_o they_o spend_v all_o their_o labour_n wit_n and_o strength_n here_o be_v all_o that_o man_n desire_v they_o care_v for_o no_o more_o no_o account_n of_o prayer_n in_o their_o house_n to_o read_v to_o hear_v and_o to_o speak_v of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n no_o desire_n to_o attain_v to_o knowledge_n faith_n and_o repentance_n no_o conscience_n to_o live_v in_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n little_a or_o no_o pity_n to_o the_o needy_a member_n of_o christ_n jesus_n alas_o they_o never_o think_v of_o these_o thing_n but_o all_o their_o desire_n be_v for_o the_o world_n oh_o poor_a blind_a soul_n poor_a soul_n they_o know_v not_o or_o they_o will_v not_o know_v that_o they_o must_v leave_v all_o these_o behind_o they_o they_o must_v depart_v from_o
saint_n paul_n do_v prove_v this_o with_o many_o reason_n 1_o cor._n 15._o if_o the_o dead_a rise_v not_o again_o then_o be_v not_o christ_n rise_v and_o if_o christ_n be_v not_o rise_v then_o be_v our_o preach_a vain_a etc._n etc._n and_o why_o shall_v we_o think_v it_o impossible_a for_o god_n to_o raise_v our_o body_n out_o of_o the_o dust_n we_o see_v a_o poor_a ignorant_a man_n be_v able_a of_o ash_n to_o make_v a_o very_a beautiful_a glass_n how_o much_o more_o than_o be_v the_o euer-living_a and_o almighty_a god_n able_a to_o raise_v our_o body_n out_o of_o the_o dust_n but_o you_o will_v say_v be_v man_n body_n eat_v of_o fish_n man_n eat_v they_o again_o how_o be_v it_o possible_a to_o save_v the_o body_n of_o man_n thus_o consume_v to_o dust_n and_o mingle_v with_o the_o body_n of_o fish_n and_o of_o beast_n i_o answer_v that_o though_o it_o be_v impossible_a to_o man_n yet_o it_o be_v not_o impossible_a to_o god_n for_o he_o that_o create_v all_o our_o body_n of_o nothing_o can_v make_v they_o again_o of_o something_o namely_o of_o their_o own_o matter_n and_o to_o sever_v their_o body_n from_o all_o other_o matter_n as_o we_o see_v that_o a_o goldsmith_n can_v sever_v one_o matter_n from_o another_o so_o then_o this_o place_n do_v prove_v and_o confirm_v that_o article_n of_o our_o faith_n that_o we_o believe_v the_o resurrection_n of_o the_o dead_a for_o prevail_v much_o by_o these_o mean_n in_o these_o day_n some_o be_v in_o disgrace_n as_o achitophel_n some_o with_o the_o guilt_n of_o sin_n and_o of_o conscience_n as_o judas_n and_o some_o be_v cross_v with_o wife_n and_o child_n cut_v their_o throat_n or_o otherwise_o make_v a_o end_n of_o themselves_o now_o they_o foolish_o think_v by_o this_o mean_n to_o end_v their_o grief_n alas_o alas_o they_o do_v by_o this_o mean_n even_o hasten_v their_o own_o destruction_n and_o do_v as_o if_o a_o man_n shall_v to_o avoid_v a_o little_a smoke_n cast_v himself_o headlong_o into_o a_o flame_a fire_n so_o they_o to_o avoid_v this_o little_a grief_n of_o their_o body_n plunge_v body_n and_o soul_n into_o eternal_a torment_n for_o what_o ease_n be_v it_o for_o a_o man_n to_o kill_v himself_o or_o cast_v away_o himself_o see_v they_o must_v come_v to_o judgement_n though_o they_o kill_v themselves_o or_o drown_v themselves_o why_o the_o water_n and_o the_o grave_n must_v one_o let_v we_o now_o obey_v his_o voice_n in_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o gospel_n now_o embrace_v the_o gospel_n and_o the_o voice_n of_o his_o minister_n if_o we_o will_v not_o now_o leave_v sin_n hear_v christ_n jesus_n speak_v unto_o we_o in_o his_o word_n and_o embrace_v his_o gospel_n then_o let_v we_o well_o know_v that_o we_o shall_v one_o day_n hear_v another_o voice_n when_o we_o this_o be_v the_o estate_n of_o all_o wicked_a man_n and_o woman_n they_o shall_v always_o have_v a_o worm_n even_o grief_n and_o anguish_n of_o heart_n ever_o gnaw_v at_o their_o heart_n and_o bite_v at_o their_o conscience_n and_o this_o worm_n shall_v never_o die_v nor_o kill_v they_o but_o ever_o gnaw_v and_o wound_v they_o so_o than_o you_o see_v by_o this_o which_o have_v be_v speak_v what_o this_o second_o death_n be_v and_o also_o wherein_o it_o do_v consist_v now_o all_o the_o question_n will_v be_v who_o shall_v be_v cast_v into_o this_o lake_n of_o fire_n who_o be_v they_o that_o shall_v die_v this_o second_o death_n death_n who_o they_o be_v that_o shall_v partake_v of_o the_o second_o death_n which_o be_v such_o a_o miserable_a and_o woeful_a death_n for_o there_o be_v no_o man_n nor_o woman_n that_o live_v i_o think_v but_o they_o suppose_v that_o they_o shall_v escape_v this_o death_n they_o hope_v that_o they_o shall_v be_v save_v and_o so_o escape_v this_o flame_a fire_n and_o therefore_o now_o you_o shall_v see_v who_o they_o be_v that_o shall_v be_v cast_v into_o it_o look_v they_o be_v there_o mark_v out_o unto_o we_o reu._n 21.8_o the_o fearful_a and_o unbeliever_n and_o abominable_a and_o murderer_n and_o whoremonger_n and_o sorcerer_n and_o liar_n etc._n etc._n shall_v have_v their_o part_n in_o the_o lake_n that_o burn_v with_o fire_n and_o brimstone_n which_o be_v the_o second_o death_n so_o than_o rhe_n holy-ghost_n tell_v we_o that_o all_o impenitent_a sinner_n shall_v be_v damn_v 6.10_o 1_o cor._n 6.10_o shall_v be_v cast_v into_o this_o lake_n of_o fire_n which_o be_v the_o second_o death_n then_o what_o a_o strange_a thing_n be_v this_o the_o holy-ghost_n tell_v we_o who_o shall_v be_v damn_v and_o cast_v into_o the_o lake_n of_o fire_n all_o impenitent_a sinner_n the_o blasphemer_n the_o drunkard_n etc._n etc._n and_o yet_o no_o man_n almost_o will_v believe_v this_o well_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n can_v lie_v he_o say_v that_o all_o the_o wicked_a and_o ungodlie_a sinner_n shall_v be_v cast_v into_o the_o lake_n of_o fire_n which_o be_v the_o second_o death_n now_o tell_v never_o so_o wicked_a a_o wretch_n of_o his_o sin_n of_o his_o swear_n etc._n etc._n and_o what_o will_v they_o say_v tush_o god_n be_v merciful_a i_o hope_v i_o shall_v be_v save_v be_v not_o this_o i_o pray_v to_o give_v the_o holy-ghost_n the_o lie_n tell_v the_o drunkard_n or_o the_o profaner_n of_o the_o lord_n day_n etc._n etc._n they_o shall_v be_v damn_v do_v they_o believe_v this_o oh_o no_o no_o for_o if_o they_o do_v believe_v it_o how_o dare_v they_o be_v so_o bold_a to_o live_v in_o sin_n well_o howsoever_o these_o vile_a wretch_n say_v they_o hope_v to_o be_v save_v aswell_o as_o the_o best_a of_o they_o all_o yet_o know_v this_o be_v the_o truth_n of_o god_n the_o holy-ghost_n tell_v we_o plain_o that_o all_o unbeliever_n and_o thief_n and_o murderer_n etc._n etc._n shall_v be_v cast_v into_o the_o lake_n of_o fire_n and_o brimstone_n which_o be_v the_o second_o death_n but_o to_o you_o who_o heart_n do_v tremble_v for_o fear_n of_o these_o thing_n who_o soul_n do_v melt_v for_o fear_n of_o this_o second_o death_n now_o if_o you_o will_v know_v how_o to_o escape_v this_o lake_n of_o fire_n and_o how_o to_o avoid_v this_o second_o death_n which_o be_v the_o eternal_a damnation_n and_o torment_n both_o of_o body_n and_o soul_n you_o shall_v see_v how_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n do_v not_o only_o show_v you_o how_o to_o escape_v hell_n but_o to_o come_v to_o heaven_n not_o only_o to_o avoid_v damnation_n in_o this_o lake_n of_o fire_n but_o to_o obtain_v salvation_n and_o joy_n in_o the_o bless_a and_o glorious_a presence_n of_o almighty_a god_n for_o evermore_o now_o see_v what_o the_o holy-ghost_n do_v teach_v thou_o in_o the_o six_o verse_n of_o this_o chapter_n bless_a and_o holy_a be_v he_o that_o have_v his_o part_n in_o the_o first_o resurrection_n for_o on_o such_o the_o second_o death_n shall_v have_v no_o power_n but_o they_o shall_v be_v the_o priest_n of_o god_n and_o of_o christ_n and_o shall_v reign_v with_o he_o a_o thousand_o year_n that_o be_v for_o evermore_o so_o then_o will_v you_o know_v what_o manner_n of_o man_n and_o woman_n shall_v escape_v the_o second_o death_n and_o eternal_a damnation_n in_o this_o lake_n of_o hell_n fire_n why_o the_o holy-ghost_n say_v they_o and_o none_o but_o they_o that_o have_v their_o part_n in_o the_o first_o resurrection_n so_o than_o it_o be_v manifest_a in_o these_o word_n that_o there_o be_v two_o resurrection_n and_o also_o a_o double_a death_n the_o child_n of_o god_n they_o have_v a_o double_a resurrection_n and_o one_o death_n but_o all_o wicked_a and_o ungodly_a sinner_n they_o have_v one_o resurrection_n and_o a_o double_a death_n so_o then_o let_v we_o see_v what_o be_v mean_v by_o this_o first_o resurrection_n namely_o our_o rise_n out_o of_o the_o grave_n of_o sin_n to_o newness_n of_o life_n this_o be_v the_o first_o resurrection_n 2.1_o ephes_n 2.1_o you_o that_o be_v dead_a in_o trespass_n and_o sin_n have_v he_o quicken_v 6.4_o rom._n 6.4_o and_o we_o be_v bury_v with_o christ_n in_o baptism_n that_o like_a as_o he_o rise_v again_o to_o the_o glory_n of_o the_o father_n even_o so_o we_o shall_v walk_v in_o newness_n of_o life_n so_o then_o will_v you_o know_v whether_o you_o shall_v escape_v eternal_a fire_n in_o hell_n even_o this_o second_o death_n then_o look_v unto_o your_o own_o soul_n be_v you_o dead_a to_o all_o your_o old_a sin_n and_o new_a sin_n be_v you_o quicken_v in_o the_o inner_a man_n do_v you_o hate_v sin_n as_o well_o when_o it_o be_v commit_v by_o yourself_o as_o by_o other_o do_v you_o labour_v to_o mortify_v and_o to_o keep_v under_o the_o work_n of_o the_o flesh_n and_o walk_v in_o all_o holy_a duty_n and_o obedience_n both_o unto_o god_n and_o man_n 8.1_o rom._n 8.1_o for_o there_o be_v no_o condemnation_n to_o they_o that_o be_v in_o christ_n which_o walk_v not_o after_o the_o flesh_n but_o after_o the_o spirit_n bless_a and_o holy_a be_v they_o that_o have_v part_n in_o the_o first_o resurrection_n where_o he_o show_v that_o none_o shall_v be_v bless_v none_o shall_v have_v part_n in_o the_o first_o resurrection_n and_o be_v free_v from_o the_o second_o death_n but_o such_o as_o be_v sanctify_v to_o live_v a_o godly_a life_n that_o be_v partaker_n of_o the_o first_o resurrection_n and_o therefore_o if_o you_o desire_v to_o be_v bless_v &_o to_o escape_v the_o second_o death_n which_o be_v the_o everlasting_a damnation_n both_o of_o body_n and_o soul_n then_o labour_v here_o to_o live_v a_o godly_a life_n for_o these_o two_o justification_n and_o sanctification_n can_v be_v sever_v and_o this_o be_v a_o very_a great_a comfort_n to_o all_o the_o true_a member_n of_o christ_n use_v that_o do_v repent_v and_o leave_v their_o sin_n and_o live_v a_o godly_a life_n though_o they_o be_v in_o misery_n in_o poverty_n in_o want_n and_o in_o the_o end_n die_v the_o first_o death_n of_o the_o body_n yet_o they_o shall_v be_v free_v from_o the_o second_o death_n that_o be_v from_o eternal_a death_n the_o gate_n of_o hell_n shall_v not_o prevail_v against_o they_o and_o therefore_o as_o you_o love_v your_o soul_n as_o you_o desire_v to_o be_v bless_v and_o to_o escape_v eternal_a damnation_n which_o be_v the_o second_o death_n labour_v i_o say_v to_o have_v a_o part_n in_o the_o first_o resurrection_n to_o die_v unto_o sin_n and_o to_o live_v in_o newness_n of_o life_n but_o
possess_v a_o kingdom_n have_v thou_o be_v hungry_a and_o thirsty_a here_o then_o thou_o shall_v taste_v of_o the_o tree_n of_o life_n have_v thou_o be_v poor_a and_o naked_a here_o then_o thou_o shall_v be_v clothe_v with_o the_o precious_a robe_n of_o christ_n righteousness_n and_o in_o steed_n of_o the_o rag_n of_o infamy_n and_o reproach_n which_o we_o must_v put_v on_o here_o we_o shall_v be_v crown_v with_o a_o crown_n of_o immortal_a glory_n etc._n etc._n again_o unto_o the_o wicked_a and_o the_o ungodlie_a it_o be_v not_o so_o with_o they_o but_o they_o have_v take_v their_o pleasure_n here_o and_o receive_v their_o portion_n in_o this_o present_a world_n shall_v arise_v now_o to_o judgement_n to_o hear_v the_o sentence_n of_o condemnation_n denounce_v against_o they_o and_o mohammed_n bovaziziow_n to_o be_v cast_v into_o the_o lake_n that_o burn_v with_o fire_n and_o brimstone_n for_o ever_o 5.29_o john_n 5.29_o which_o be_v the_o second_o death_n three_o see_v saint_n john_n say_v that_o we_o shall_v all_o come_v to_o judgement_n these_o body_n of_o we_o though_o they_o be_v drown_v though_o they_o be_v burn_v to_o ash_n or_o howsoever_o they_o be_v consume_v yet_o they_o shall_v rise_v again_o either_o to_o life_n eternal_a or_o death_n eternal_a shall_v not_o this_o make_v we_o all_o belove_v to_o look_v unto_o ourselves_o to_o take_v heed_n we_o do_v not_o use_v our_o body_n to_o the_o dishonour_n of_o god_n will_v thou_o have_v thy_o body_n to_o be_v partaker_n of_o life_n felicity_n glory_n and_o salvation_n in_o heaven_n then_o use_v thy_o body_n now_o to_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n upon_o earth_n to_o hear_v his_o word_n to_o sanctify_v god_n sabbath_n etc._n etc._n but_o if_o thou_o use_v thy_o body_n to_o sin_n to_o swear_v to_o drunkenness_n whoredom_n etc._n etc._n then_o know_v that_o thy_o body_n shall_v rise_v again_o to_o judgement_n to_o be_v torment_v for_o ever_o do_v not_o look_v upon_o the_o rich_a glutton_n 16._o luke_n 16._o he_o have_v abuse_v his_o body_n to_o swear_v drunkenness_n etc._n etc._n and_o what_o become_v of_o it_o be_v he_o not_o fearful_o torment_v in_o hell_n at_o last_o and_o he_o which_o have_v give_v his_o tongue_n to_o swear_v etc._n etc._n now_o he_o cry_v his_o tongue_n his_o tongue_n o_o that_o all_o sinful_a wretch_n can_v but_o think_v of_o this_o one_o example_n of_o god_n judgement_n that_o if_o they_o abuse_v their_o body_n as_o this_o man_n do_v that_o they_o shall_v then_o taste_v of_o the_o same_o judgement_n will_v thou_o have_v thy_o body_n glorify_v then_o glorify_v god_n in_o thy_o body_n do_v thou_o think_v that_o thy_o soul_n shall_v be_v save_v and_o thy_o body_n glorify_v if_o thou_o use_v the_o member_n thereof_o to_o sin_n to_o uncleanenes_n etc._n etc._n o_o no_o let_v we_o not_o deceive_v our_o own_o soul_n it_o can_v not_o be_v for_o say_v the_o apostle_n 6.2_o rom._n 6.2_o how_o can_v we_o that_o be_v dead_a to_o sin_n yet_o live_v therein_o four_o see_v the_o holie-ghost_n say_v that_o of_o what_o death_n soever_o we_o do_v die_v we_o shall_v all_o rise_v again_o and_o god_n child_n they_o shall_v rise_v to_o life_n and_o to_o glory_n this_o must_v teach_v we_o all_o this_o doctrine_n namely_o not_o to_o weep_v and_o mourn_v immoderate_o for_o our_o friend_n decease_v true_a it_o be_v that_o christ_n jesus_n weep_v for_o lazarus_n 11._o john_n 11._o and_o the_o disciple_n make_v great_a lamentation_n for_o stephen_n 7._o act_n 7._o and_o so_o we_o have_v great_a cause_n to_o mourn_v and_o weep_v when_o as_o some_o special_a member_n of_o the_o church_n of_o god_n be_v take_v away_o we_o may_v not_o be_v as_o stock_n or_o stone_n or_o senseless_a creature_n without_o affection_n it_o must_v needs_o grieve_v the_o heart_n of_o a_o husband_n to_o part_v with_o his_o love_a godly_a and_o religious_a wife_n but_o here_o be_v a_o mean_a for_o this_o mourning_n to_o moderate_v our_o weep_n that_o we_o weep_v not_o and_o mourn_v not_o overmuch_o for_o they_o shall_v rise_v again_o i_o will_v not_o have_v you_o ignorant_a brethren_n concern_v those_o that_o be_v asleep_a that_o you_o shall_v mourn_v at_o they_o that_o have_v no_o hope_n 1._o thess_n 4.13_o where_o the_o holy-ghost_n tell_v we_o that_o the_o dead_a in_o christ_n do_v not_o die_v proper_o but_o lay_v they_o down_o to_o take_v a_o sweet_a sleep_n after_o their_o long_a and_o tedious_a labour_n and_o troubl_n in_o this_o world_n and_o afterward_o they_o must_v rise_v again_o to_o life_n to_o happiness_n to_o liberty_n to_o glory_n and_o salvation_n and_o wherefore_o then_o shall_v we_o mourn_v so_o excessive_o &_o weep_v and_o lament_v at_o the_o death_n of_o our_o friend_n see_v they_o do_v not_o perish_v they_o be_v not_o cast_v away_o o_o no_o their_o soul_n be_v present_o in_o joy_n and_o their_o body_n be_v bury_v in_o the_o grave_n as_o in_o a_o bed_n of_o dowlne_a to_o take_v a_o sweet_a sleep_n till_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n and_o then_o they_o shall_v rise_v to_o glory_n and_o they_o be_v judge_v every_o man_n according_a to_o their_o work_n mark_v i_o pray_v you_o how_o the_o holy_a ghost_n repeat_v this_o point_n again_o and_o again_o he_o beat_v upon_o it_o he_o can_v never_o have_v do_v with_o it_o he_o say_v before_o the_o book_n be_v open_v and_o the_o dead_a be_v judge_v according_a to_o those_o thing_n write_v in_o the_o book_n and_o now_o again_o he_o say_v they_o be_v judge_v every_o man_n according_a to_o his_o work_n what_o shall_v be_v the_o cause_n why_o the_o holy-ghost_n so_o often_o repeat_v this_o point_n and_o beat_v so_o upon_o it_o again_o and_o again_o i_o answer_v the_o cause_n be_v in_o we_o because_o we_o be_v hardly_o bring_v to_o believe_v this_o point_n hardly_o persuade_v of_o so_o necessary_a a_o matter_n for_o hardly_o one_o man_n of_o a_o thousand_o believe_v this_o that_o he_o shall_v be_v judge_v according_a to_o his_o work_n oh_o it_o be_v a_o hard_a matter_n to_o persuade_v man_n and_o woman_n of_o this_o that_o they_o must_v give_v a_o account_n of_o their_o work_n and_o be_v judge_v by_o their_o work_n tell_v the_o wicked_a sinner_n of_o his_o ungodly_a way_n of_o his_o profaneness_n contempt_n of_o god_n word_n etc._n etc._n and_o what_o do_v they_o say_v do_v they_o quake_v and_o tremble_v do_v their_o heart_n and_o soul_n even_o earn_v in_o they_o o_o no_o no_o they_o flatter_v themselves_o with_o this_o conceit_n god_n be_v merciful_a and_o thus_o they_o make_v the_o mercy_n of_o god_n a_o packhorse_n for_o all_o their_o abomination_n and_o thus_o it_o be_v in_o the_o vile_a heart_n of_o man_n to_o think_v he_o shall_v never_o come_v to_o account_v for_o his_o sin_n that_o he_o shall_v never_o be_v call_v to_o a_o reckon_n for_o they_o and_o receive_v his_o reward_n according_a to_o his_o work_n here_o than_o we_o may_v perceive_v there_o be_v but_o two_o sort_n of_o man_n and_o woman_n there_o be_v the_o repentant_a sinner_n and_o the_o impenitent_a sinner_n and_o both_o of_o they_o must_v come_v to_o judgement_n the_o repentant_a sinner_n be_v he_o or_o she_o that_o mourn_v for_o their_o sin_n bewail_v they_o hate_v they_o and_o leave_v they_o and_o do_v hunger_n and_o thirst_n after_o good_a thing_n now_o the_o impenitent_a sinner_n be_v he_o or_o she_o that_o live_v in_o sin_n and_o will_v not_o in_o any_o wise_a be_v bring_v to_o leave_v sin_n they_o never_o with_o tear_n beg_v the_o pardon_n of_o they_o at_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n but_o wallow_v in_o all_o uncleanness_n heap_v sin_n upon_o sin_n and_o one_o ungodly_a way_n upon_o another_o whereas_o all_o the_o sin_n of_o god_n child_n who_o do_v repent_v be_v quit_v and_o pardon_v in_o christ_n jesus_n he_o have_v nail_v they_o to_o his_o cross_n and_o have_v wash_v they_o away_o in_o his_o own_o blood_n and_o they_o shall_v never_o come_v to_o light_v but_o their_o faith_n their_o religion_n their_o good_a deed_n as_o their_o feed_n and_o clothing_n of_o christ_n jesus_n in_o his_o poor_a member_n matth._n 25._o and_o according_a to_o these_o they_o shall_v receive_v their_o reward_n life_n happiness_n and_o eternal_a salvation_n and_o as_o their_o good_a deed_n be_v many_o and_o great_a so_o shall_v their_o honour_n praise_n and_o glory_n be_v great_a in_o heaven_n and_o therefore_o we_o shall_v labour_v to_o abound_v in_o good_a work_n in_o faith_n knowledge_n repentance_n love_n zeal_n etc._n etc._n see_v our_o reward_n shall_v be_v according_a to_o our_o work_n but_o as_o for_o the_o unrepentant_a sinner_n that_o live_v in_o sin_n delight_n in_o sin_n as_o they_o do_v not_o repent_v nor_o have_v no_o faith_n nor_o good_a work_n even_o so_o as_o their_o work_n shall_v be_v so_o
