against_o the_o know_a truth_n of_o the_o word_n knowledge_n a_o fearful_a thing_n to_o sin_n against_o knowledge_n and_o law_n of_o god_n against_o knowledge_n and_o conscience_n when_o as_o we_o have_v not_o only_o know_v the_o will_n and_o word_n of_o god_n but_o believe_v it_o be_v enlighten_v by_o the_o spirit_n and_o be_v teach_v of_o god_n in_o our_o inward_a affection_n then_o against_o all_o these_o mean_n to_o sin_n and_o to_o commit_v iniquity_n against_o knowledge_n and_o conscience_n it_o be_v a_o most_o dangerous_a thing_n this_o may_v here_o appear_v in_o david_n who_o be_v grievous_o wound_v for_o this_o sin_n above_o all_o other_o and_o feel_v the_o smart_n of_o it_o to_o humble_v he_o all_o the_o day_n of_o his_o life_n so_o peter_n denial_n of_o christ_n luke_n 23._o knowledge_n and_o conscience_n and_o therefore_o against_o the_o holy_a ghost_n and_o that_o god_n have_v no_o mercy_n for_o he_o and_o to_o that_o purpose_n he_o abuse_v one_o especial_a place_n because_o they_o sin_n against_o knowledge_n and_o conscience_n but_o that_o the_o child_n of_o god_n may_v sin_n and_o commit_v some_o great_a sin_n and_o evil_n against_o knowledge_n and_o conscience_n after_o they_o be_v enlighten_v and_o effectual_o call_v and_o sanctify_v appear_v in_o abraham_n sara_n david_n peter_n etc._n etc._n and_o daily_a experience_n prove_v it_o and_o therefore_o all_o sin_n of_o knowledge_n and_o against_o conscience_n be_v not_o sin_n against_o the_o holy_a ghost_n but_o in_o that_o place_n he_o speak_v of_o such_o as_o of_o desperate_a malice_n we_o fall_v not_o into_o they_o again_o but_o our_o former_a fall_n make_v we_o take_v heed_n of_o fall_v in_o time_n to_o come_v four_o the_o remembrance_n of_o our_o sin_n make_v we_o pity_v other_o sick_a man_n health_n although_o these_o desire_v all_o these_o yet_o the_o sinner_n ever_o desire_v mercy_n this_o mercy_n of_o god_n david_n this_o sweet_a singer_n of_o israel_n have_v often_o time_n singe_v now_o he_o desire_v it_o and_o this_o be_v the_o difference_n betwixt_o the_o godly_a and_o the_o wicked_a honour_v i_o say_v saul_n before_o my_o people_n have_v mercy_n on_o i_o say_v to_o be_v find_v on_o the_o top_n yet_o it_o will_v break_v out_o again_o and_o become_v more_o dangerous_a and_o incurable_a even_o so_o when_o man_n shall_v seek_v to_o smother_v the_o accusation_n of_o conscience_n to_o blunt_v the_o edge_n of_o it_o it_o will_v after_o rebound_v again_o and_o give_v a_o deadly_a wound_n to_o desperation_n use_v 2_o do_v thou_o find_v thy_o conscience_n unquiet_a do_v thou_o feel_v it_o wound_n and_o accuse_v thou_o god_n nothing_o can_v pacify_v a_o wound_a conscience_n but_o god_n so_o as_o thou_o can_v find_v no_o comfort_n nor_o rest_n unto_o thy_o soul_n there_o be_v no_o other_o way_n in_o the_o world_n to_o pacify_v thy_o conscience_n and_o to_o have_v peace_n then_o to_o entreat_v and_o beg_v for_o mercy_n at_o god_n hand_n 14.17_o ro._n 14.17_o the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n stand_v not_o in_o meat_n and_o drink_v but_o in_o righteousness_n and_o peace_n and_o joy_n in_o the_o holie-ghost_n so_o that_o although_o a_o wicked_a man_n enjoy_v all_o the_o world_n yet_o if_o he_o have_v not_o mercy_n and_o the_o pardon_n of_o sin_n alas_o he_o shall_v have_v no_o sound_a peace_n of_o conscience_n no_o joy_n in_o his_o soul_n nor_o any_o drop_n of_o true_a comfort_n and_o therefore_o let_v we_o all_o seek_v reconciliation_n with_o god_n entreat_v for_o favour_n and_o mercy_n and_o never_o give_v any_o rest_n unto_o our_o soul_n till_o we_o can_v feel_v and_o find_v our_o soul_n assure_v of_o god_n mercy_n in_o christ_n and_o the_o pardon_n of_o our_o sin_n if_o any_o say_v o_o that_o i_o can_v feel_v this_o in_o my_o soul_n here_o beg_v hard_o seek_v earnest_o for_o so_o the_o lord_n promise_v if_o we_o seek_v we_o shall_v find_v and_o therefore_o let_v we_o pray_v and_o continue_v in_o prayer_n and_o know_v that_o the_o lord_n will_v in_o the_o end_n hear_v and_o grant_v our_o request_n the_o second_o point_n be_v the_o party_n to_o who_o the_o prophet_n direct_v his_o prayer_n who_o to_o who_o and_o seek_v for_o comfort_n not_o to_o any_o saint_n or_o angel_n not_o to_o the_o virgin_n marie_n but_o he_o go_v to_o god_n pray_v to_o he_o have_v mercy_n on_o i_o o_o god_n and_o he_o direct_v his_o prayer_n to_o the_o whole_a trinity_n father_n son_n and_o holy_a ghost_n to_o god_n the_o father_n as_o the_o author_n of_o all_o mercy_n to_o jesus_n christ_n by_o who_o and_o in_o who_o name_n we_o obtain_v mercy_n and_o to_o the_o holy_a ghost_n because_o he_o do_v teach_v we_o to_o pray_v and_o do_v convey_v and_o derive_v all_o save_a comfort_n
