sorrow_n and_o the_o end_n of_o our_o life_n that_o we_o may_v be_v keep_v in_o a_o continual_a practice_n of_o repentance_n as_o appear_v by_o david_n 2._o sam._n 12._o 23._o some_o be_v desperate_a in_o their_o misery_n because_o they_o know_v not_o how_o or_o by_o what_o mean_v they_o shall_v be_v deliver_v from_o it_o but_o good_a man_n and_o good_a mind_n must_v take_v another_o course_n see_v they_o can_v know_v in_o these_o thing_n the_o mind_n of_o the_o lord_n nor_o as_o solomon_n say_v who_o shall_v be_v after_o they_o therefore_o their_o watch_n and_o care_n over_o their_o against_o they_o have_v the_o whole_a law_n in_o his_o own_o hand_n but_o in_o this_o that_o he_o say_v judgement_n he_o will_v plead_v with_o they_o we_o may_v note_v that_o god_n will_v open_v all_o the_o sin_n of_o the_o wicked_a in_o judgement_n eccles_n 11._o 9_o for_o pleader_n will_v not_o omit_v any_o thing_n which_o may_v discredit_v their_o adversary_n or_o the_o cause_n against_o which_o they_o speak_v yea_o they_o will_v suspect_v those_o thing_n which_o they_o can_v gainsay_v and_o condemn_v those_o thing_n very_o peremptory_o which_o they_o can_v any_o way_n blemish_n in_o like_a sort_n the_o lord_n when_o he_o shall_v draw_v thou_o to_o judgement_n will_v there_o open_v all_o thy_o life_n and_o tell_v thy_o secret_a whoredom_n thy_o hide_a theft_n thy_o often_o blasphemy_n thy_o idle_a word_n thy_o vain_a expense_n thy_o proud_a gesture_n thy_o idle_a worship_n thy_o friend-pleasing_a vanity_n and_o all_o thy_o hypocrisy_n thy_o charity_n he_o will_v defame_v with_o vainglory_n thy_o prayer_n he_o will_v account_v abomination_n thy_o fast_n he_o will_v call_v dissemble_v and_o thy_o gentle_a nature_n shall_v be_v account_v a_o flatter_a virtue_n all_o this_o will_v he_o bring_v to_o judgement_n he_o will_v prove_v it_o by_o thy_o conscience_n he_o will_v condemn_v it_o by_o his_o gospel_n and_o he_o will_v punish_v it_o by_o condemnation_n oh_o then_o shall_v thy_o fault_n be_v write_v in_o thy_o forehead_n that_o all_o may_v know_v they_o and_o thy_o privy_a do_n blow_v with_o a_o trumpet_n that_o all_o may_v hear_v they_o and_o thy_o forswear_a sin_n open_v by_o a_o crier_n that_o all_o may_v loathe_v they_o oh_o wretched_a wretch_n which_o have_v rather_o abide_v this_o judgement_n of_o god_n then_o that_o which_o be_v in_o this_o life_n but_o if_o thou_o have_v any_o mean_n to_o persuade_v thy_o soul_n unto_o goodness_n or_o to_o terrify_v thy_o flesh_n from_o evil_a let_v this_o help_v it_o forward_o that_o god_n shall_v open_v glory_n do_v they_o not_o know_v that_o the_o lord_n shall_v call_v they_o to_o a_o reckon_n for_o his_o silver_n and_o his_o gold_n and_o then_o oh_o then_o how_o dear_a will_v their_o dainty_a fare_n their_o silken_a suit_n their_o velvet_n slipper_n their_o frenchhood_n their_o golden_a border_n and_o their_o blew-coate-hireling_n cost_v they_o that_o they_o have_v gain_v and_o maintain_v by_o the_o robbery_n of_o church_n the_o reason_n of_o this_o doctrine_n be_v these_o first_o because_o the_o 1._o good_n of_o the_o church_n be_v holy_a thing_n 2._o chron._n 20._o 19_o and_o therefore_o not_o to_o be_v profane_v which_o be_v then_o do_v when_o they_o be_v withdraw_v from_o the_o lord_n service_n for_o certain_o although_o in_o substance_n the_o gold_n and_o treasure_n of_o the_o church_n be_v the_o same_o that_o all_o other_o be_v of_o as_o the_o water_n and_o the_o bread_n and_o wine_n in_o the_o sacrament_n in_o substance_n be_v all_o one_o with_o other_o water_n wine_n and_o bread_n yet_o in_o regard_n of_o the_o use_n there_o be_v a_o difference_n for_o they_o be_v make_v holy_a by_o dedication_n and_o therefore_o as_o it_o be_v horrible_a villainy_n to_o abuse_v the_o element_n in_o the_o sacrament_n so_o be_v it_o execrable_a robbery_n to_o profane_v the_o treasure_n of_o the_o church_n another_o reason_n 2_o be_v this_o because_o if_o it_o be_v not_o lawful_a for_o ananias_n and_o saphira_n under_o pretence_n of_o religion_n to_o sell_v their_o land_n as_o if_o they_o will_v have_v give_v it_o to_o the_o church_n and_o yet_o keep_v away_o part_n thereof_o act._n 5._o 4._o then_o be_v it_o much_o more_o unlawful_a to_o keep_v away_o any_o part_n from_o the_o church_n which_o we_o never_o give_v but_o it_o be_v right_o the_o church_n what_o though_o some_o king_n of_o judah_n do_v buy_v peace_n with_o they_o and_o david_n do_v eat_v of_o the_o shewbread_n yet_o they_o do_v it_o for_o necessity_n to_o maintain_v the_o commonwealth_n and_o to_o preserve_v life_n and_o so_o very_o i_o think_v may_v be_v do_v now_o but_o bless_v be_v god_n we_o never_o yet_o taste_v of_o the_o like_a necessity_n and_o so_o long_o as_o there_o shall_v be_v one_o penny_n of_o money_n or_o one_o foot_n of_o land_n in_o the_o possession_n of_o private_a man_n so_o long_o must_v the_o treasury_n of_o the_o church_n be_v leave_v great_a delight_n in_o a_o field_n flower_n another_o sport_v himself_o with_o the_o smell_n of_o a_o rose_n but_o none_o of_o you_o can_v feel_v any_o pleasure_n in_o that_o corn_n that_o bring_v bread_n of_o life_n or_o that_o flower_n that_o show_v the_o work_n of_o life_n or_o that_o rose_n that_o offer_v the_o smell_n of_o heaven_n lay_v away_o thy_o base_a thought_n of_o spiritual_a matter_n and_o know_v that_o the_o church_n be_v the_o lord_n house_n who_o be_v great_a than_o a_o king_n that_o the_o preacher_n be_v the_o lord_n steward_n who_o be_v better_a than_o lord_n that_o the_o gospel_n be_v thy_o soul_n food_n sweet_a than_o any_o iuncate_n that_o a_o christian_n be_v the_o lord_n friend_n better_a than_o any_o rich_a man_n that_o a_o sermon_n be_v thy_o saviour_n praise_n high_a than_o any_o prince_n and_o that_o the_o fellowship_n of_o saint_n be_v more_o worth_a than_o the_o valour_n of_o knight_n think_v i_o say_v how_o goodly_a and_o pleasant_a be_v the_o word_n full_a of_o grace_n the_o company_n full_a of_o goodness_n the_o prayer_n full_a of_o sweetness_n the_o psalm_n full_a of_o melody_n and_o the_o soul_n full_a of_o sorrow_n which_o be_v gather_v together_o before_o the_o lord_n in_o his_o church_n the_o reason_n of_o this_o doctrine_n be_v 1._o these_o first_o because_o he_o evermore_o regard_v what_o himself_n have_v appoint_v cant._n 5._o 1._o his_o church_n be_v his_o garden_n and_o therefore_o he_o have_v plant_v every_o flower_n grow_v therein_o wherewithal_o he_o can_v choose_v but_o be_v high_o delight_v as_o he_o husband_n send_v for_o they_o never_o so_o earnest_o but_o she_o be_v reward_v for_o her_o disobedience_n and_o be_v divorce_v from_o the_o king_n and_o so_o i_o fear_v will_v be_v the_o end_n of_o very_a many_o in_o our_o day_n to_o be_v put_v out_o of_o the_o lord_n favour_n and_o divorce_v from_o the_o blessing_n of_o christ_n and_o again_o let_v we_o learn_v to_o put_v on_o our_o eye_n of_o faith_n that_o we_o may_v commend_v that_o which_o god_n commend_v for_o except_o we_o can_v behold_v the_o work_n of_o god_n and_o the_o gospel_n of_o god_n with_o spiritual_a eye_n it_o shall_v never_o be_v goodly_a and_o pleasant_a before_o we_o and_o cast_v away_o the_o blockish_a dulness_n that_o oppress_v your_o brain_n like_o a_o drowsy_a nap_n in_o a_o shine_a day_n which_o will_v
