can_v go_v beyond_o that_o which_o be_v prescribe_v and_o therefore_o say_v they_o it_o be_v reason_n a_o man_n shall_v be_v leave_v to_o more_o liberty_n as_o he_o be_v in_o conceive_a prayer_n and_o not_o tie_v to_o a_o strict_a form_n to_o this_o i_o answer_v even_o those_o man_n that_o be_v against_o 1._o this_o and_o that_o use_v this_o reason_n they_o do_v the_o same_o thing_n daily_o in_o the_o congregation_n for_o when_o another_o pray_v that_o be_v a_o set_a form_n to_o he_o that_o hear_v it_o i_o say_v it_o be_v a_o form_n to_o he_o for_o put_v that_o case_n that_o he_o that_o be_v a_o hearer_n that_o hear_v another_o pray_v suppose_v that_o his_o spirit_n be_v more_o enlarge_v it_o be_v a_o straightning_n to_o he_o he_o have_v no_o liberty_n to_o go_v out_o he_o be_v bind_v to_o keep_v his_o mind_n intent_n upon_o it_o and_o therefore_o if_o that_o be_v a_o sufficient_a reason_n that_o a_o man_n may_v not_o use_v a_o set_a form_n because_o the_o spirit_n be_v straighten_v a_o man_n shall_v not_o hear_v another_o prey_n though_o it_o be_v a_o conceive_a prayer_n because_o in_o that_o case_n his_o spirit_n be_v limit_v it_o may_v be_v the_o hearer_n have_v a_o large_a heart_n a_o great_a deal_n than_o he_o that_o speak_v and_o pray_v so_o that_o there_o be_v a_o bound_a and_o streightning_n and_o a_o limit_v of_o the_o spirit_n and_o therefore_o that_o reason_n can_v be_v good_a again_o i_o answer_v though_o the_o spirit_n be_v limit_v at_o that_o time_n

there_o be_v not_o only_o a_o sense_n of_o the_o thing_n we_o want_v but_o also_o a_o hope_n of_o mercy_n a_o ground_n to_o believe_v that_o i_o shall_v have_v the_o thing_n grant_v and_o out_o of_o this_o ground_n i_o be_o earnest_a and_o importunate_a now_o earnestness_n be_v a_o fruit_n of_o faith_n when_o jesus_n christ_n live_v upon_o earth_n when_o man_n come_v and_o cry_v earnest_o unto_o he_o and_o be_v exceed_o importunate_a some_o to_o be_v heal_v of_o their_o disease_n some_o to_o have_v devil_n cast_v out_o etc._n etc._n we_o see_v his_o answer_n be_v still_o to_o they_o be_v it_o to_o thou_o how_o not_o according_a to_o their_o importunity_n and_o fervency_n but_o according_a to_o their_o faith_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v i_o heed_n not_o i_o regard_v not_o all_o this_o clamour_n and_o earnestness_n if_o they_o be_v only_a expression_n of_o such_o want_n if_o they_o be_v only_o in_o the_o sense_n of_o such_o need_n and_o no_o more_o but_o if_o they_o proceed_v from_o faith_n and_o that_o faith_n set_v you_o a_o work_n to_o call_v upon_o i_o be_v it_o unto_o th●…_n according_a to_o that_o for_o indeed_o these_o two_o thing_n make_v up_o fervency_n in_o prayer_n sense_n of_o need_n and_o hope_v of_o mercy_n when_o a_o man_n have_v faith_n and_o hope_v to_o increase_v his_o fervency_n and_o it_o arise_v from_o that_o ground_n as_o well_o as_o out_o of_o the_o other_o not_o that_o i_o exclude_v the_o other_o for_o it_o be_v a_o very_a great_a help_n and_o that_o which_o put_v stick_n on_o the_o fire_n as_o it_o be_v to_o make_v our_o fervency_n the_o more_o i_o say_v from_o sense_n of_o our_o need_n when_o we_o consider_v serious_o what_o want_n we_o have_v and_o then_o add_v this_o hope_n and_o faith_n when_o these_o two_o shall_v set_v you_o a_o work_n this_o fervency_n be_v a_o fruit_n of_o faith_n this_o be_v one_o caution_n that_o must_v be_v remember_v another_o caution_n be_v this_o that_o your_o fervency_n sincerity_n be_v join_v with_o
