peculiaritie_n and_o special_a propriety_n in_o christian_a the_o privilege_n of_o a_o true_a christian_a god_n that_o look_v as_o a_o man_n may_v say_v of_o his_o inheritance_n his_o house_n and_o land_n these_o be_v i_o so_o he_o may_v as_o true_o say_v of_o god_n god_n be_v i_o i_o be_o right_v and_o interest_v in_o he_o this_o privilege_n be_v confer_v upon_o we_o in_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n which_o run_v in_o this_o tenor_n i_o will_v be_v thy_o god_n and_o thou_o shall_v be_v one_o of_o my_o people_n we_o assent_v to_o the_o condition_n of_o this_o covenant_n to_o become_v god_n possession_n of_o his_o saint_n this_o be_v a_o doctrine_n of_o great_a comfort_n that_o though_o thou_o have_v not_o house_n land_n money_n friend_n to_o call_v thou_o yet_o there_o be_v a_o god_n mention_n be_v only_o in_o general_a under_o the_o name_n of_o god_n church_n for_o so_o he_o pray_v for_o those_o who_o faith_n he_o never_o hear_v of_o but_o most_o common_o he_o make_v this_o to_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o those_o prayer_n which_o he_o say_v he_o daily_o offer_v for_o those_o he_o write_v unto_o the_o hear_n of_o their_o faith_n and_o love_n as_o here_o in_o this_o place_n let_v we_o therefore_o according_a to_o this_o example_n of_o saint_n paul_n even_o by_o name_n remember_v our_o christian_a friend_n in_o our_o prayer_n know_v that_o the_o performance_n of_o this_o duty_n be_v one_o special_a part_n of_o the_o communion_n of_o saint_n second_o observe_v that_o paul_n do_v pray_v even_o for_o those_o for_o who_o he_o give_v thanks_o from_o whence_o doct._n 2_o it_o able_a to_o warm_v the_o heart_n of_o one_o but_o cool_o dispose_v it_o let_v we_o see_v what_o oftentimes_o be_v a_o main_a reason_n of_o defect_n in_o the_o ministry_n many_o complain_v and_o just_o use_v may_v they_o that_o their_o minister_n be_v cold_a and_o dead_a in_o his_o ministry_n that_o it_o be_v void_a of_o quicken_a life_n and_o power_n etc._n etc._n but_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n never_o look_v at_o the_o reason_n of_o it_o nor_o inquire_v into_o the_o cause_n of_o it_o but_o lay_v the_o whole_a burden_n of_o the_o complaint_n upon_o the_o shoulder_n of_o the_o minister_n whereas_o if_o due_a enquiry_n be_v make_v people_n may_v draw_v their_o breath_n inward_a and_o find_v themselves_o faulty_a and_o guilty_a of_o those_o thing_n with_o which_o the_o minister_n be_v charge_v why_o do_v thou_o complain_v of_o thy_o minister_n coldness_n while_o thy_o own_o freeze_a heart_n have_v chill_v he_o why_o complain_v thou_o of_o his_o pollute_a lip_n when_o they_o be_v infect_v with_o thy_o pollution_n why_o accuse_v thou_o his_o folly_n when_o the_o multitude_n of_o thy_o iniquity_n have_v cause_v it_o examine_v therefore_o thy_o own_o heart_n and_o try_v if_o thou_o find_v not_o the_o cause_n of_o thy_o minister_n defect_n in_o thyself_o many_o a_o minister_n will_v be_v better_o if_o he_o have_v a_o better_a people_n and_o a_o good_a people_n make_v a_o judgement_n till_o god_n shall_v have_v uncase_v the_o hypocrite_n and_o it_o be_v far_o safe_a for_o we_o to_o err_v of_o charity_n then_o of_o malice_n and_o sinister_a suspicion_n second_o in_o that_o paul_n by_o a_o metonymy_n of_o the_o doct._n 2_o efficient_a give_v the_o name_n of_o faith_n and_o love_n to_o the_o outward_a work_n of_o philemon_z which_o be_v report_v unto_o he_o we_o learn_v the_o manner_n wherein_o every_o good_a work_n must_v be_v do_v namely_o in_o faith_n and_o love._n the_o very_a spirit_n and_o quintessence_n of_o our_o faith_n and_o love_n must_v be_v in_o every_o good_a work_n else_o they_o be_v but_o dead_a work_n unless_o they_o be_v build_v upon_o the_o foundation_n of_o faith_n and_o love_n easy_o will_v they_o be_v shake_v first_o
