house_n of_o david_n and_o inhabitant_n of_o jerusalem_n for_o sin_n and_o uncleanness_n and_o what_o need_n of_o endeavour_n to_o have_v our_o step_n order_v more_o exact_o according_a to_o it_o this_o reason_n will_v not_o have_v such_o weight_n if_o the_o plague_n threaten_v to_o parent_n be_v eternal_a and_o to_o their_o child_n but_o temporal_a 4._o this_o threaten_v must_v put_v some_o difference_n betwixt_o the_o child_n of_o the_o wicked_a and_o the_o child_n of_o the_o godly_a but_o temporal_a difficulty_n and_o stroke_n will_v not_o clear_v up_o this_o difference_n for_o often_o the_o child_n of_o the_o godly_a share_v most_o in_o these_o it_o must_v therefore_o be_v in_o spiritual_a thing_n they_o differ_v main_o 5._o what_o be_v threaten_v here_o must_v especial_o in_o the_o event_n light_n upon_o the_o three_o and_o four_o generation_n and_o not_o ordinary_o go_v beyond_o that_o now_o ordinary_o the_o child_n of_o wicked_a man_n in_o outward_a thing_n thrive_v best_a unto_o the_o three_o and_o four_o generation_n and_o after_o that_o come_v their_o temporal_a judgement_n therefore_o it_o can_v be_v that_o which_o be_v here_o only_o or_o principal_o mean_v 6._o consider_v caein_n ham_n etc._n etc._n upon_o who_o posterity_n this_o curse_n be_v peculiar_o derive_v and_o there_o you_o will_v find_v somewhat_o more_o than_o what_o be_v temporal_a the_o second_o thing_n to_o be_v clear_v here_o be_v the_o party_n threaten_v to_o be_v thus_o punish_v it_o be_v not_o the_o father_n that_o be_v express_v but_o the_o child_n after_o they_o as_o it_o be_v jer._n 32.18_o all_o be_v forefaulted_n the_o whole_a stock_n and_o family_n concern_v which_o let_v we_o take_v these_o three_o consideration_n along_o with_o we_o 1._o that_o these_o child_n punish_v be_v not_o innocent_a in_o themselves_o but_o be_v guilty_a before_o the_o lord_n by_o original_a corruption_n or_o by_o both_o it_o and_o actual_a sin_n make_v themselves_o liable_a to_o such_o plague_n they_o have_v no_o reason_n to_o say_v the_o father_n have_v eat_v sour_a grape_n and_o the_o child_n tooth_n be_v set_v on_o edge_n for_o whether_o the_o judgement_n be_v temporal_a or_o spiritual_a the_o child_n have_v deserve_v they_o and_o can_v say_v they_o be_v wrong_v and_o this_o consideration_n reconcile_v this_o place_n with_o that_o of_o ezekiel_n where_o god_n put_v they_o to_o it_o thus_o none_o innocent_a be_v plague_v but_o you_o be_v plague_v therefore_o say_v he_o read_v your_o own_o sin_n out_o of_o your_o plague_n 2._o consider_v that_o the_o threaten_v against_o child_n of_o such_o parent_n be_v here_o limit_v to_o the_o three_o or_o four_o generation_n all_o their_o posterity_n be_v not_o curse_v thereby_o 1._o because_o god_n kindness_n be_v what_o usual_o and_o ordinary_o he_o do_v and_o what_o man_n if_o he_o deal_v with_o they_o in_o justice_n may_v expect_v from_o he_o yet_o it_o be_v still_o so_o to_o be_v understand_v as_o the_o son_n of_o a_o wicked_a person_n may_v be_v find_v to_o be_v a_o elect_n and_o the_o son_n of_o a_o godly_a person_n reject_v that_o he_o may_v continue_v his_o plague_n long_o than_o the_o three_o or_o four_o generation_n or_o break_v they_o off_o soon_o when_o he_o think_v good_n for_o though_o by_o this_o he_o will_v restrain_v parent_n from_o sin_n yet_o have_v he_o a_o door_n open_a to_o many_o such_o child_n for_o mercy_n even_o as_o the_o contrary_a promise_n have_v many_o exception_n as_o to_o the_o child_n of_o godly_a parent_n that_o walk_v not_o in_o the_o path_n of_o their_o parent_n go_v before_o they_o as_o many_o know_a instance_n of_o both_o in_o scripture_n do_v make_v out_o the_o three_o question_n be_v how_o god_n do_v execute_v this_o threaten_n or_o how_o he_o father_n sin_n a_o main_a part_n of_o their_o curse_n god_n afterward_o visit_v they_o on_o they_o with_o sad_a temporal_a judgement_n also_o 4._o if_o it_o be_v ask_v why_o god_n thus_o plague_v and_o threaten_v the_o child_n of_o wicked_a parent_n answ._n 1._o god_n do_v it_o to_o make_v sin_n hateful_a see_v it_o bring_v often_o a_o forfeiture_n of_o spiritual_a blessing_n yea_o of_o
