not_o it_o can_v never_o be_v so_o secure_a careless_a merry_a and_o without_o all_o care_n but_o that_o be_v not_o the_o conforte_n answer_n which_o come_v from_o the_o spirit_n of_o truth_n but_o it_o be_v a_o deceitful_a comfort_n for_o it_o may_v sudden_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o in_o those_o thing_n wherein_o the_o world_n repose_v his_o conforte_n and_o stay_v uncerten_a there_o may_v be_v find_v no_o comfort_n nor_o help_v at_o all_o but_o the_o holy_a ghost_n which_o be_v the_o conforter_n of_o the_o christian_n be_v the_o spirit_n of_o truth_n which_o inward_o confort_v we_o the_o name_n of_o god_n and_o dishonour_v it_o that_o god_n will_v repress_v &_o confound_v they_o send_v faithful_a workman_n into_o his_o harvest_n 9_o and_o conserve_v and_o keep_v his_o word_n public_o and_o afterward_o private_o in_o everye_o man_n own_o busyness_n prayer_n only_o this_o one_o thing_n be_v great_o to_o be_v lament_v that_o we_o be_v very_o cold_a and_o slothful_a unto_o the_o godly_a exercise_n of_o prayer_n neither_o do_v we_o resort_v unto_o it_o with_o such_o earnest_a desire_n and_o faith_n as_o we_o ought_v to_o do_v there_o be_v a_o commandment_n set_v forth_o etc._n or_o in_o their_o own_o name_n such_o be_v the_o prayer_n of_o the_o jew_n of_o the_o turk_n of_o the_o infidel_n yea_o and_o of_o the_o papist_n for_o they_o will_v not_o have_v the_o name_n of_o christ_n only_o in_o their_o prayer_n christ_n but_o they_o add_v unto_o it_o also_o the_o name_n of_o mary_n of_o the_o apostle_n and_o of_o other_o saint_n but_o as_o concern_v all_o such_o idolatrous_a prayer_n the_o end_n of_o they_o be_v this_o god_n hear_v they_o not_o they_o please_v not_o but_o rather_o displease_v god_n they_o be_v no_o honour_n but_o rather_o a_o dishonour_v of_o god_n and_o although_o such_o hypocrite_n do_v many_o time_n obtain_v that_o which_o they_o ask_v yet_o be_v it_o much_o better_a for_o they_o well_o never_o to_o obteyn_n it_o then_o after_o this_o but_o have_v rather_o trust_v in_o the_o live_n god_n he_o have_v never_o come_v to_o this_o place_n of_o torment_fw-mi and_o destruction_n but_o now_o contrary_a to_o the_o precepte_v of_o god_n he_o of_o wrath_n in_o the_o kingdom_n of_o the_o devil_n and_o this_o be_v in_o deed_n compulsion_n and_o constrain_v when_o there_o be_v great_a fear_n for_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n and_o thereby_o we_o be_v drive_v to_o call_v for_o help_v and_o when_o that_o be_v so_o bring_v to_o pass_v by_o the_o preach_n of_o the_o gospel_n that_o the_o heart_n dread_n then_o must_v we_o proceade_v in_o doctrine_n well_o that_o yet_o the_o sinner_n fall_n not_o to_o desperation_n for_o their_o sin_n although_o they_o have_v never_o so_o just_a cause_n to_o despair_v but_o let_v they_o rather_o follow_v this_o council_n of_o god_n that_o because_o they_o be_v baptize_v let_v they_o hear_v the_o gospel_n that_o preach_v of_o jesu_n christ_n that_o he_o die_v for_o we_o and_o make_v satisfaction_n for_o our_o sin_n on_o the_o cross_n by_o his_o death_n if_o thou_o believe_v this_o thou_o nede_a not_o fear_v the_o wrath_n of_o god_n and_o death_n everlasting_a and_o so_o thou_o as_o a_o true_a geaste_n have_v a_o room_n in_o this_o magnificent_a and_o glorious_a supper_n and_o be_v thereby_o feed_v make_v fat_a and_o in_o good_a like_n and_o so_o to_o compel_v use_v be_v to_o make_v a_o man_n afraid_a for_o sin_n and_o not_o to_o compel_v as_o the_o pope_n do_v with_o curse_v by_o book_n bell_n and_o candle_n he_o do_v not_o cause_v any_o true_a fear_n in_o the_o conscience_n for_o he_o teach_v not_o true_o what_o be_v sin_n but_o he_o magnify_v his_o own_o trifle_n and_o curss_v he_o that_o will_v not_o keep_v his_o ceremony_n and_o man_n tradition_n but_o the_o gospel_n open_v sin_n and_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n from_o heaven_n that_o all_o we_o none_o except_v do_v live_v in_o sin_n and_o be_v ungodlie_a this_o thing_n do_v god_n command_v to_o be_v show_v unto_o we_o by_o the_o gospel_n i._o when_o he_o say_v to_o the_o apostle_n go_v and_o preach_v repentance_n but_o repentance_n can_v not_o be_v preach_v but_o by_o the_o open_n of_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n xxiiii_o against_o all_o man_n because_o they_o be_v full_a of_o unbelief_n contempt_n of_o god_n and_o other_o sin_n this_o wrath_n ought_v to_o terrify_v they_o and_o to_o make_v their_o conscience_n quake_v for_o fear_n that_o they_o may_v compel_v theim selue_o and_o say_v o_o lord_n what_o must_v i_o do_v to_o avoid_v this_o misery_n than_o shall_v it_o be_v say_v to_o he_o sit_v down_o in_o the_o supper_n and_o eat_v for_o there_o be_v many_o table_n full_a of_o meat_n and_o yet_o void_a of_o geaste_n thou_o be_v christen_v therefore_o believe_v in_o jesu_n christ_n that_o he_o have_v satisfy_v for_o thou_o thou_o have_v none_o other_o remedy_n against_o this_o destruction_n then_o to_o be_v baptise_a and_o to_o believe_v for_o than_o shall_v wrath_n be_v end_v and_o great_a plenty_n of_o grace_n mercy_n and_o remission_n of_o sin_n send_v down_o from_o heaven_n unto_o thou_o to_o thy_o great_a joy_n and_o singular_a comfort_n compel_v wherefore_o to_o compel_v be_v nothing_o else_o then_o to_o preach_v repentance_n and_o remission_n of_o sin_n to_o show_v the_o wrath_n of_o god_n upon_o sinner_n and_o mercy_n upon_o they_o that_o believe_v the_o wrath_n and_o repentance_n cause_v a_o great_a thirst_n and_o desire_n of_o grace_n and_o this_o be_v the_o true_a way_n to_o this_o supper_n and_o now_o there_o be_v one_o church_n make_v church_n both_o of_o the_o jew_n and_o gentile_n and_o all_o be_v general_o call_v poor_a needy_a lame_a and_o weak_a for_o after_o the_o fear_n of_o the_o conscience_n they_o glad_o embrace_v the_o gospel_n and_o desire_v mercy_n but_o they_o that_o refuse_v to_o do_v this_o be_v they_o never_o so_o prudent_a and_o wise_a have_v this_o sentence_n give_v against_o they_o they_o shall_v not_o taste_v of_o my_o supper_n â–ª_o that_o be_v the_o wrath_n of_o god_n shall_v remain_v upon_o they_o and_o they_o shall_v be_v damn_v for_o their_o unbelief_n for_o god_n as_o i_o say_v before_o have_v no_o respect_n how_o scotfree_a how_o wise_a how_o holy_a they_o be_v wherefore_o be_v they_o never_o so_o careless_a be_v they_o never_o so_o sure_a of_o themselves_o yet_o shall_v they_o prove_v by_o experience_n that_o this_o sentence_n be_v not_o vain_o speak_v where_o christ_n here_o conclude_v they_o shall_v not_o taste_v of_o my_o supper_n but_o we_o that_o receive_v it_o and_o fear_v for_o our_o sin_n and_o do_v not_o despise_v the_o grace_n of_o god_n which_o be_v offer_v unto_o we_o in_o the_o gospel_n for_o christ_n sake_n we_o shall_v obtain_v for_o wrath_n grace_n for_o sin_n eternal_a rightuousnes_n and_o for_o eternal_a death_n eternal_a life_n this_o sore_a judgement_n be_v now_o a_o day_n as_o it_o appear_v most_o evident_a among_o the_o jew_n and_o turk_n which_o have_v no_o saver_v of_o the_o gospel_n yea_o supper_n rather_o they_o so_o much_o abhor_v it_o that_o they_o can_v not_o find_v in_o their_o heart_n so_o much_o as_o to_o see_v it_o or_o hear_v it_o it_o chance_v also_o likewise_o with_o the_o papistical_a high_a priest_n and_o bishop_n which_o be_v so_o little_o fill_v with_o this_o supper_n that_o they_o scarslie_o taste_v it_o or_o smell_v it_o but_o we_o which_o by_o the_o peculiar_a grace_n of_o god_n be_v set_v in_o the_o middle_n of_o the_o light_n of_o this_o gospel_n be_v fill_v and_o well_o feed_v and_o be_v become_v lusty_a and_o strong_a and_o be_v glad_a to_o be_v at_o this_o supper_n the_o lord_n grant_v we_o to_o continewe_v therein_o unto_o the_o end_n amen_n amen_n christ_n intent_n therefore_o in_o this_o parable_n be_v to_o exhort_v we_o that_o we_o have_v the_o gospel_n in_o high_a estimation_n and_o that_o we_o join_v not_o ourselves_o to_o they_o which_o have_v high_a stomach_n by_o reason_n of_o their_o prudence_n wisdom_n power_n and_o holiness_n for_o this_o sentence_n be_v give_v as_o touch_v their_o cast_n away_o and_o damnation_n of_o they_o that_o they_o shall_v not_o taste_v this_o supper_n as_o they_o be_v cast_v away_o in_o the_o people_n of_o the_o jew_n and_o only_o the_o unpure_a drag_n be_v reserve_v so_o shall_v it_o chance_v to_o we_o also_o if_o we_o set_v more_o by_o farm_n ox_n and_o wife_n that_o be_v by_o our_o spiritual_a and_o civil_a dignity_n and_o temporal_a possession_n than_o we_o do_v by_o the_o gospel_n he_o speak_v a_o grevous_a and_o a_o very_a terrible_a thing_n with_o plain_a and_o simple_a word_n they_o shall_v not_o taste_v of_o my_o supper_n as_o though_o he_o shall_v say_v my_o supper_n be_v not_o to_o be_v despise_v for_o it_o be_v of_o a_o high_a price_n than_o their_o farm_n be_v despise_v they_o it_o now_o never_o so_o much_o &_o although_o they_o set_v more_o by_o their_o farm_n ox_n and_o wife_n than_o they_o do_v by_o it_o there_o shall_v come_v a_o time_n when_o they_o must_v depart_v from_o all_o thing_n from_o farm_n from_o ox_n and_o from_o wife_n so_o that_o they_o will_v feign_v then_o taste_v of_o my_o supper_n but_o then_o shall_v it_o be_v say_v unto_o they_o seven_o i_o know_v you_o not_o now_o i_o lack_v no_o geaste_n let_v your_o farm_n ox_n and_o wife_n comfort_v you_o supper_n these_o shall_v give_v you_o a_o better_a supper_n for_o as_o much_o as_o you_o despise_v my_o supper_n and_o care_v not_o for_o it_o there_o be_v great_a provision_n and_o cost_n make_v in_o this_o supper_n but_o althynge_n seem_v vile_a unto_o you_o if_o there_o be_v more_o good_a fare_n and_o delicate_n in_o you_o go_v to_o it_o a_o god_n name_n spare_v not_o i_o will_v not_o let_v you_o only_o this_o i_o say_v unto_o you_o you_o shall_v have_v no_o part_n of_o my_o supper_n these_o thing_n shall_v be_v dreadful_a in_o that_o day_n when_o god_n shall_v with_o plain_a word_n call_v his_o supper_n life_n everlasting_a and_o their_o farm_n and_o ox_n eternal_a fire_n and_o shall_v not_o change_v his_o sentence_n any_o thing_n but_o that_o they_o shall_v never_o taste_v of_o this_o supper_n that_o be_v they_o shall_v be_v void_a of_o all_o hope_n of_o salvation_n wherefore_o these_o word_n be_v not_o light_o to_o be_v esteem_v which_o declare_v the_o everlasting_a
heavenly_a thing_n then_o by_o man_n god_n forbydde_v that_o we_o shall_v grow_v unto_o such_o madness_n so_o to_o do_v and_o so_o to_o offend_v the_o lord_n our_o god_n the_o magistrate_n ought_v to_o look_v better_o unto_o his_o office_n well_o then_o to_o compel_v his_o subject_n so_o to_o do_v if_o christ_n have_v thus_o say_v geve_v to_o cesar_n all_o that_o he_o desire_v or_o all_o that_o thou_o haste_v he_o may_v lawful_o have_v require_v it_o of_o his_o subject_n and_o if_o they_o will_v not_o have_v give_v it_o he_o wyllyng_o he_o may_v just_o have_v take_v it_o away_o from_o theym_n but_o our_o savioure_n christ_n in_o this_o place_n say_v thus_o geve_v those_o thing_n to_o cesar_n which_o be_v dew_n unto_o cesar._n caesar_n that_o be_v to_o say_v it_o be_v certain_a and_o determine_v what_o be_v he_o and_o therewith_o he_o ought_v to_o be_v content_a civil_a obedience_n outward_a honour_n tribute_n toll_n and_o such_o like_a worldly_a thing_n be_v due_a unto_o he_o all_o this_o geve_v he_o this_o ought_v to_o suffice_v he_o if_o he_o will_v require_v more_o and_o challenge_v that_o which_o belongethe_v unto_o god_n then_o know_v you_o that_o in_o this_o behalf_n you_o owe_v he_o nothing_o at_o all_o no_o man_n under_o pain_n of_o everlasting_a damnation_n ought_v to_o geve_v that_o to_o the_o temporal_a magistrate_n which_o be_v due_a to_o god_n alone_o for_o as_o cesar_n can_v not_o lawful_o require_v it_o so_o do_v god_n straight_o forbid_v the_o subject_n to_o geve_v that_o to_o cesar_n which_o he_o unjust_o ask_v therefore_o this_o be_v a_o great_a impiety_n and_o wyckednesse_n that_o certain_a popyshe_a prince_n but_o chief_o byshoppe_n which_o in_o deed_n be_v nothing_o else_o thâ—n_a prince_n and_o worldly_a potentate_n be_v so_o they_o not_o only_o not_o agreeable_a but_o also_o contrary_a to_o the_o word_n of_o god_n the_o true_a religion_n of_o god_n they_o forbid_v they_o will_v not_o suffer_v their_o subject_n to_o resort_v unto_o such_o place_n where_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v true_o teach_v they_o forbid_v both_o the_o book_n of_o holy_a scripture_n and_o also_o all_o other_o good_a and_o godly_a work_v that_o their_o subject_n shall_v not_o rede_v they_o and_o so_o come_v unto_o the_o knowledge_n of_o their_o salvation_n they_z hire_n blasphemous_a preacher_n to_o set_v forth_o and_o maintain_v the_o old_a abomination_n of_o antichriste_n at_o who_o mouth_n not_o one_o word_n can_v be_v hear_v that_o may_v comfort_v the_o conscience_n of_o the_o weaklyng_n or_o edify_v in_o true_a knowledge_n such_o as_o be_v ignorant_a yea_o and_o that_o be_v most_o horrible_a these_o sycophant_n do_v nothing_o else_o thenne_n in_o all_o their_o sermon_n blaspheme_v the_o gospel_n and_o most_o spiteful_o rail_v on_o the_o professoure_n of_o the_o same_o and_o they_o think_v they_o have_v do_v their_o duty_n notable_o well_o if_o they_o maintain_v the_o sacrifice_n of_o the_o mass_n the_o invocation_n of_o saint_n pylgremage_n purgatory_n pardon_n the_o monastical_a life_n the_o syngle_a life_n of_o priest_n the_o receive_n of_o the_o sacrament_n under_o one_o kind_n papist_n the_o pope_n primacy_n etc._n etc._n and_o confirm_v a_o false_a perswasyon_n of_o the_o remission_n of_o sin_n for_o confession_n contrition_n satisfaction_n penance_n will_n work_v etc._n etc._n but_o they_o exercise_v their_o tyranny_n chief_o kynde_n when_o their_o subject_n receyve_v the_o holy_a mystery_n of_o christ_n body_n and_o blood_n under_o both_o kynde_n when_o notwithstanding_o it_o be_v most_o evident_a and_o plain_a that_o so_o be_v the_o institution_n of_o christ_n and_o the_o primative_a church_n and_o the_o holy_a father_n use_v the_o same_o order_n many_o hundred_o year_n after_o christ_n ascension_n â—â—_o and_o notwithstanding_o this_o popyshe_a and_o wicked_a order_n they_o will_v have_v to_o be_v observe_v of_o their_o subject_n yea_o and_o that_o under_o the_o pretence_n of_o the_o obedience_n that_o be_v due_a unto_o the_o magistrate_n as_o though_o it_o be_v here_o thus_o command_v geve_v all_o thing_n to_o cesar_n and_o to_o god_n nothing_o for_o in_o matter_n of_o religion_n to_o obey_v cesar_n and_o not_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v to_o set_v cesar_n above_o god_n to_o rob_v god_n of_o all_o thing_n and_o to_o geve_v to_o cesar_n all_o thing_n but_o so_o ought_v we_o not_o to_o do_v unpunysh_v god_n do_v not_o only_o grant_v to_o cesar_n the_o obedience_n of_o his_o subject_n but_o he_o also_o stablysh_v the_o same_o with_o his_o commandment_n and_o defend_v the_o same_o so_o earnest_o that_o no_o sedition_n against_o the_o magistrate_n do_v ever_o escape_v unpunysh_v as_o example_n both_o divine_a and_o profane_a do_v evident_o declare_v but_o in_o the_o mean_a while_n god_n also_o require_v his_o obedience_n he_o will_v body_n and_o good_n to_o be_v subject_a to_o cesar_n only_o this_o he_o require_v that_o the_o heart_n and_o conscience_n be_v keep_v for_o god_n that_o he_o by_o his_o word_n and_o by_o his_o holy_a spirit_n may_v govern_v there_o alone_o but_o whenne_n god_n may_v not_o thus_o do_v for_o as_o much_o as_o cesar_n contrary_a to_o right_n challenge_v also_o that_o be_v none_o of_o he_o even_o to_o be_v lord_n of_o the_o conscience_n and_o that_o man_n shall_v have_v no_o other_o opinion_n of_o religion_n than_o it_o please_v he_o and_o not_o as_o god_n appoint_v in_o his_o word_n the_o end_n of_o this_o violence_n tyranny_n and_o wickedness_n can_v not_o be_v good_a for_o god_n by_o no_o mean_n can_v abide_v that_o his_o kingdom_n shall_v be_v destroy_v or_o that_o his_o worshyp_a and_o service_n which_o he_o have_v command_v in_o his_o word_n shall_v be_v abolysh_v that_o magistrate_n which_o take_v upon_o he_o so_o to_o do_v must_v needs_o come_v to_o confusion_n as_o the_o exaumple_n of_o most_o mighty_a king_n and_o prince_n do_v testify_v so_o soon_o as_o they_o challenge_v altogether_o to_o themselves_o and_o leave_v nothing_o for_o god_n god_n defend_v and_o recover_v his_o own_o right_n and_o as_o for_o the_o tyrant_n the_o bring_v they_o to_o nought_o shame_n and_o confusion_n therefore_o this_o be_v worthy_a here_o to_o be_v remember_v that_o christ_n have_v appoint_v certain_a lymitte_v beyond_o the_o which_o caesar_n power_n ought_v not_o to_o go_v namely_o that_o he_o rule_v in_o his_o court_n and_o that_o he_o meddle_v not_o with_o god_n kingdom_n geve_v to_o cesar_n say_v he_o the_o thing_n that_o belong_v to_o cesar._n as_o though_o he_o shall_v say_v that_o which_o be_v god_n and_o not_o caesar_n look_v you_o geve_v it_o not_o to_o cesar_n least_o you_o fall_v away_o from_o i_o and_o obey_v cesar_n to_o much_o which_o peradventure_o will_v reward_v you_o for_o a_o time_n but_o notwithstanding_o whosoever_o shall_v thus_o disobey_v i_o either_o for_o fear_n or_o for_o favour_n either_o for_o reward_n or_o
