so_o before_o man_n as_o it_o seem_v good_a to_o their_o obscure_a opinion_n but_o if_o god_n be_v of_o that_o opinion_n he_o may_v then_o have_v well_o keep_v still_o christ_n and_o the_o gospel_n for_o what_o need_n or_o necessity_n shall_v move_v he_o to_o send_v christ_n from_o heaven_n who_o shall_v purchase_v that_o unto_o we_o with_o his_o precious_a blood_n which_o we_o ourselves_o have_v before_o with_o we_o he_o sure_o shall_v be_v the_o foolish_a of_o all_o man_n which_o will_v pour_v forth_o a_o precious_a treasure_n which_o no_o man_n need_v thus_o thou_o see_v how_o matter_n what_o i_o be_o or_o what_o i_o ought_v to_o do_v and_o what_o not_o to_o do_v but_o what_o christ_n himself_o be_v aught_o to_o do_v and_o do_v for_o now_o we_o be_v in_o the_o bride-chamber_n where_o only_o the_o bridegroom_n and_o the_o bride_n must_v have_v to_o do_v and_o it_o behove_v not_o thou_o to_o come_v thither_o nor_o to_o intermeddle_v any_o thing_n there_o but_o nevertheless_o it_o now_o and_o then_o knock_v and_o say_v in_o the_o mean_a season_n notwithstanding_o good_a work_n must_v be_v do_v of_o thou_o the_o commandment_n of_o god_n must_v be_v keep_v us._n how_o we_o must_v answer_v the_o law_n when_o it_o be_v instant_n upon_o us._n if_o thou_o will_v obtain_v salvation_n answer_v again_o but_o thou_o hear_v that_o it_n be_v not_o now_o time_n to_o speak_v of_o they_o for_o now_o i_o have_v obtain_v my_o righteousness_n and_o the_o sum_n of_o all_o my_o salvation_n without_o my_o work_n in_o christ_n my_o lord_n and_o be_o already_o save_v before_o thou_o come_v therefore_o i_o have_v no_o need_n of_o thy_o presence_n for_o as_o i_o have_v say_v where_o work_v prevail_v nothing_o neither_o be_v the_o law_n there_o of_o any_o importance_n or_o weight_n and_o where_o there_o be_v no_o law_n neither_o be_v there_o any_o sin_n the_o bride_n therefore_o alone_o all_o the_o rest_n be_v exclude_v must_v reign_v in_o the_o bride-chamber_n with_o christ_n in_o who_o she_o have_v all_o thing_n at_o once_o neither_o need_v she_o any_o thing_n more_o which_o be_v necessary_a to_o salvation_n wherefore_o the_o law_n must_v be_v exclude_v and_o utter_o reject_v yea_o and_o cast_v of_o as_o often_o as_o it_o will_v invade_v and_o set_v upon_o the_o conscience_n for_o sure_o it_o ought_v not_o to_o meddle_v therewith_o neither_o come_v it_o in_o time_n when_o it_o will_v have_v much_o to_o do_v there_o where_o it_o ought_v to_o have_v nothing_o to_o do_v and_o whither_o it_o ought_v in_o no_o wise_a to_o come_v for_o the_o conscience_n rest_v in_o this_o article_n of_o our_o christian_a faith_n i_o believe_v in_o jesus_n christ_n my_o lord_n which_o suffer_v die_v &_o be_v bury_v for_o i_o etc._n etc._n unto_o who_o both_o moses_n law_n &_o caesar_n &_o divine_a law_n ought_v to_o give_v place_n all_o that_o therefore_o be_v bold_o to_o be_v chase_v from_o i_o whatsoever_o will_v dispute_v with_o i_o of_o sin_n righteousness_n and_o such_o like_a thing_n behold_v christ_n will_v in_o this_o place_n resemble_v this_o liberty_n unto_o we_o that_o as_o christian_n we_o suffer_v no_o master_n in_o our_o conscience_n trust_v most_o constant_o to_o this_o one_o thing_n that_o we_o be_v baptize_v and_o call_v unto_o christ_n and_o by_o he_o justify_v and_o sanctify_v whereupon_o we_o may_v say_v he_o be_v my_o righteousness_n my_o treasure_n my_o work_n and_o in_o a_o sum_n what_o not_o against_o sin_n and_o unrighteousness_n whereof_o the_o law_n indevour_v to_o accuse_v i_o if_o it_o please_v you_o to_o have_v other_o righteousness_n work_n law_n etc._n etc._n then_o may_v you_o take_v they_o from_o whence_o you_o will_v sure_o you_o shall_v find_v no_o place_n for_o they_o in_o i_o thus_o may_v a_o man_n defend_v himself_o and_o stand_v against_o the_o suggestion_n and_o tentation_n of_o the_o devil_n and_o of_o sin_n either_o past_a or_o present_a wherefore_o moses_n and_o christ_n be_v far_o to_o be_v separate_v asunder_o as_o also_o work_n and_o faith_n the_o conscience_n and_o the_o outward_a life_n so_o that_o if_o the_o law_n will_v set_v upon_o i_o and_o make_v my_o hart_n afraid_a then_o be_v it_o time_n to_o send_v it_o away_o and_o if_o it_o will_v not_o give_v place_n to_o thrust_v it_o out_o by_o force_n and_o to_o say_v i_o will_v willing_o do_v good_a work_n and_o will_v go_v forward_o as_o much_o as_o i_o be_o able_a for_o that_o time_n that_o i_o live_v among_o man_n but_o here_o i_o will_v know_v nothing_o at_o all_o of_o they_o in_o my_o conscience_n &_o therefore_o let_v i_o alone_o &_o prate_v nothing_o of_o they_o for_o here_o i_o will_v vouchsafe_v to_o hear_v neither_o moses_n nor_o the_o pharisee_n but_o christ_n alone_o do_v obtain_v place_n to_o reign_v here_o i_o will_v like_v unto_o marie_n sit_v at_o his_o foot_n to_o hear_v his_o word_n but_o let_v martha_n carry_v abroad_o and_o busy_v herself_o in_o the_o kitchen_n and_o about_o the_o household_n affair_n and_o in_o a_o sum_n i_o will_v not_o trouble_v the_o quietness_n of_o my_o conscience_n but_o what_o shall_v i_o say_v objection_n a_o objection_n whereas_o in_o the_o mean_a season_n i_o do_v daily_a sin_n which_o sure_o be_v evil_a i_o answer_v in_o deed_n it_o be_v true_a answer_n the_o answer_n i_o be_o a_o sinner_n and_o i_o do_v unjust_o but_o i_o must_v not_o therefore_o despeire_n as_o though_o i_o be_v subject_a to_o condemnation_n yea_o or_o tremble_v because_o of_o the_o rigour_n of_o the_o law_n for_o by_o faith_n i_o apprehend_v he_o which_o have_v apprehend_v i_o and_o apply_v myself_o unto_o he_o which_o have_v embrace_v i_o in_o baptism_n and_o have_v put_v i_o in_o his_o bosom_n and_o by_o the_o preach_n of_o the_o gospel_n have_v call_v i_o to_o the_o communion_n of_o all_o his_o good_a thing_n bid_v i_o to_o believe_v in_o he_o now_o when_o as_o i_o have_v apprehend_v he_o by_o faith_n then_o may_v i_o be_v bold_a to_o bid_v the_o pharisee_n and_o moses_n with_o his_o table_n all_o lawyer_n with_o their_o book_n all_o man_n with_o their_o work_n hold_v their_o peace_n and_o give_v place_n no_o law_n have_v then_o any_o power_n to_o convince_v or_o accuse_v i_o for_o in_o this_o christ_n i_o have_v all_o thing_n abundant_o whatsoever_o can_v be_v require_v in_o i_o this_o i_o say_v be_v the_o doctrine_n and_o art_n of_o christian_n the_o scope_n and_o end_n whereof_o be_v this_o even_o to_o reign_v with_o christ_n but_o blockish_a man_n do_v not_o understand_v it_o take_v hereupon_o occasion_n to_o live_v more_o free_o as_o they_o listen_v say_v what_o need_n be_v there_o that_o i_o shall_v do_v good_a work_n forasmuch_o as_o christ_n have_v abrogate_a the_o law_n etc._n etc._n christ_n albeit_o we_o be_v free_a from_o the_o law_n we_o must_v nevertheless_o do_v good_a work_n after_o the_o example_n of_o christ_n there_o foolish_a babble_n be_v in_o no_o wise_a to_o be_v bear_v for_o christ_n be_v on_o the_o other_o part_n also_o to_o be_v consider_v of_o thou_o and_o thou_o must_v mark_v what_o he_o do_v more_o for_o here_o he_o himself_o say_v that_o he_o be_v that_o man_n which_o seek_v the_o miserable_a and_o lose_a sheep_n which_o also_o he_o witness_v by_o his_o present_a deed_n by_o receive_v sinner_n and_o publican_n and_o by_o preach_v unto_o they_o whereby_o thou_o see_v that_o he_o do_v fulfil_v much_o more_o than_o the_o law_n command_v to_o be_v do_v and_o teach_v thou_o to_o do_v the_o same_o by_o his_o example_n he_o be_v of_o such_o a_o heroical_a stomach_n that_o he_o will_v not_o be_v under_o the_o law_n yet_o do_v he_o of_o his_o own_o accord_n more_o thing_n than_o the_o law_n require_v do_v thou_o so_o also_o neither_o look_v when_o thou_o shall_v be_v force_v and_o drive_v on_o by_o the_o law_n but_o without_o the_o law_n and_o of_o thy_o own_o accord_n do_v that_o which_o be_v needful_a to_o be_v do_v as_o peter_n 1_o pet._n 2_o admonish_v say_v as_o free_a and_o not_o as_o have_v the_o liberty_n for_o a_o cloak_n of_o maliciousness_n but_o as_o the_o servant_n of_o god_n and_o
take_v away_o from_o the_o conscience_n her_o joy_n and_o comfort_n whereby_o he_o may_v draw_v man_n into_o desperation_n that_o he_o may_v not_o be_v able_a cheerful_o to_o lift_v uppe_o his_o hart_n and_o head_n before_o god_n for_o this_o be_v the_o art_n of_o christian_n who_o it_o behove_v to_o know_v and_o learn_v more_o thing_n assault_n christian_n must_v know_v how_o to_o fight_v against_o the_o devil_n and_o to_o bear_v his_o assault_n than_o that_o profane_a and_o blockishe_a common_a sort_n know_v and_o understand_v that_o we_o may_v know_v well_o the_o manner_n how_o to_o fight_v with_o the_o devil_n and_o to_o bear_v his_o assault_n as_o often_o as_o he_o shall_v set_v upon_o we_o &_o dispute_v with_o we_o out_o of_o moses_n with_o who_o when_o he_o go_v about_o such_o thing_n we_o must_v not_o dispute_v in_o many_o word_n but_o must_v forthwith_o appeal_v from_o moses_n to_o christ_n and_o cleave_v to_o he_o for_o all_o his_o travaills_n &_o deceit_n tend_v unto_o this_o end_n that_o he_o may_v crafty_o pluck_v we_o from_o christ_n and_o draw_v we_o unto_o moses_n for_o he_o know_v full_a well_o the_o matter_n be_v bring_v to_o that_o point_n the_o victory_n shall_v be_v on_o his_o side_n wherefore_o thou_o must_v again_o and_o again_o take_v heed_n that_o thou_o suffer_v not_o thyself_o to_o be_v pluck_v out_o of_o this_o haven_n moses_n we_o must_v take_v most_o diligent_a heed_n that_o the_o devil_n pluck_v we_o not_o from_o christ_n to_o moses_n neither_o to_o be_v entice_v out_o of_o this_o circle_n and_o although_o he_o shall_v lay_v many_o thing_n against_o thou_o out_o of_o the_o law_n even_o inasmuch_o as_o it_o be_v the_o word_n of_o god_n whereunto_o it_o be_v meet_v that_o thou_o do_v obey_v yet_o may_v thou_o answer_v he_o and_o say_v do_v thou_o not_o hear_v that_o i_o will_v now_o know_v or_o hear_v nothing_o concern_v the_o law_n for_o we_o be_v now_o in_o that_o circle_n and_o haven_n wherein_o it_o be_v not_o inquire_v what_o i_o must_v do_v or_o leave_v undo_v but_o by_o what_o mean_v we_o obtain_v to_o have_v god_n gentle_a and_o favourable_a unto_o we_o and_o how_o we_o get_v remission_n of_o sin_n here_o i_o will_v abide_v in_o the_o arm_n of_o christ_n cleave_v unseparable_o about_o his_o neck_n and_o creep_v into_o his_o bosom_n whatsoever_o the_o law_n shall_v say_v and_o my_o heart_n shall_v feel_v nevertheless_o so_o that_o we_o keep_v the_o principal_a part_n of_o our_o faith_n sincere_a and_o the_o chief_a point_n safe_a outward_o i_o will_v willing_o do_v and_o suffer_v what_o burden_n soever_o it_o shall_v lay_v upon_o i_o behold_v he_o that_o understand_v this_o art_n well_o shall_v be_v a_o right_n and_o perfect_a man_n as_o christ_n be_v so_o far_o above_o all_o law_n that_o he_o may_v be_v bold_a to_o call_v peter_n satan_n and_o the_o pharisee_n fool_n and_o leader_n of_o the_o blind_a and_o put_v moses_n himself_o to_o silence_n and_o so_o live_v altogether_o without_o the_o law_n and_o yet_o in_o the_o mean_a season_n fulfil_v all_o law_n furthermore_o be_v obstinate_a and_o stout_a against_o all_o that_o will_v enforce_v and_o constrain_v he_o and_o yet_o notwithstanding_o of_o his_o own_o accord_n profit_n and_o obey_v all_o but_o true_o herein_o consist_v all_o the_o defect_n that_o we_o do_v never_o full_o and_o perfect_o learn_v this_o art_n the_o devil_n so_o let_v and_o hinder_v we_o that_o we_o go_v preposterous_o to_o work_v be_v too_o ready_a and_o willing_a to_o hear_v all_o thing_n whatsoever_o the_o law_n say_v at_o who_o threaten_n also_o we_o be_v not_o a_o little_a astonish_v which_o it_o have_v be_v better_a for_o we_o not_o to_o have_v hear_v again_o in_o outward_a thing_n also_o we_o give_v ourselves_o to_o liberty_n more_o than_o be_v convenient_a whereas_o the_o body_n shall_v be_v keep_v under_o &_o bridle_v with_o work_n whereby_o it_o may_v be_v compel_v to_o bear_v what_o soever_o shall_v be_v grievous_a unto_o it_o when_o as_o yet_o it_o oftentimes_o sin_v yet_o so_o that_o sin_n abide_v without_o where_o it_o must_v abide_v &_o have_v his_o moses_n who_o always_o may_v be_v never_o unto_o it_o with_o his_o exaction_n howbeit_o inward_o let_v no_o sin_n or_o law_n bear_v rule_v or_o reign_v but_o let_v christ_n alone_o rule_v and_o reign_v by_o mere_a grace_n joy_n and_o comfort_n so_o all_o thing_n shall_v be_v do_v right_o and_o man_n shall_v be_v apt_a and_o fit_a to_o all_o good_a thing_n both_o to_o do_v and_o also_o to_o suffer_v with_o a_o glad_a and_o obedient_a heart_n by_o faith_n not_o feign_a in_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n through_o christ_n wherefore_o let_v the_o conscience_n bear_v rule_n over_o all_o law_n let_v the_o flesh_n be_v subject_a to_o every_o law_n now_o he_o that_o be_v skilful_a of_o this_o art_n let_v he_o give_v thanks_n to_o god_n and_o take_v heed_n that_o he_o be_v not_o too_o wise_a in_o it_o and_o that_o he_o conceive_v not_o a_o false_a persuasion_n of_o knowledge_n for_o i_o and_o my_o like_a do_v not_o yet_o understand_v it_o as_o we_o ought_v to_o understand_v it_o although_o we_o be_v most_o expert_a of_o all_o and_o have_v be_v long_v exercise_v therein_o for_o as_o i_o have_v say_v it_o be_v such_o a_o art_n as_o no_o man_n know_v but_o they_o which_o be_v christian_n to_o the_o learning_n whereof_o notwithstanding_o they_o be_v compel_v to_o be_v scholar_n all_o there_o life_n long_o wherefore_o most_o far_o of_o from_o the_o know_v hereof_o be_v those_o secure_a spirit_n who_o alone_o know_v all_o thing_n but_o who_o in_o very_a deed_n beside_o that_o false_a persuasion_n of_o knowledge_n know_v nothing_o at_o all_o and_o by_o this_o very_a persuasion_n they_o be_v far_a of_o all_o draw_v from_o this_o art_n and_o from_o the_o whole_a gospel_n neither_o be_v there_o any_o thing_n more_o grievous_a no_o nor_o a_o great_a hurt_n can_v be_v bring_v unto_o christianity_n then_o by_o these_o petty_a doctor_n and_o master_n which_o seem_v unto_o themselves_o to_o have_v some_o wisdom_n for_o they_o fill_v all_o corner_n of_o the_o world_n with_o sect_n and_o faction_n be_v such_o man_n as_o serve_v neither_o god_n nor_o man_n hear_v neither_o the_o law_n nor_o the_o gospel_n but_o contemn_v the_o law_n with_o a_o secure_a mind_n and_o loath_a the_o gospel_n with_o hear_v it_o always_o seek_v after_o new_a doctrine_n but_o true_o we_o teach_v nothing_o for_o their_o sake_n inasmuch_o as_o they_o be_v not_o worthy_a of_o our_o doctrine_n and_o be_v so_o punish_v of_o god_n that_o they_o can_v never_o learn_v it_o &_o bring_v forth_o any_o fruit_n thereby_o although_o they_o hear_v it_o therefore_o let_v we_o only_o keep_v it_o whereof_o they_o do_v take_v away_o nothing_o at_o all_o from_o we_o but_o that_o they_o hear_v a_o vain_a noise_n and_o sound_n of_o it_o and_o thus_o much_o for_o the_o first_o part_n of_o this_o sermon_n in_o which_o christ_n teach_v by_o his_o own_o example_n how_o every_o man_n ought_v to_o keep_v his_o conscience_n free_a from_o all_o disputation_n of_o the_o law_n and_o terror_n of_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n and_o of_o sin_n now_o consequent_o i_o think_v it_o good_a diligent_o to_o consider_v this_o excellent_a and_o goodly_a parable_n of_o christ_n 15.3_o luke_n 15.3_o where_o he_o begin_v and_o say_v what_o man_n of_o you_o have_v a_o hundred_o sheep_n if_o he_o lose_v one_o of_o they_o do_v not_o leave_v ninety_o and_o nine_o in_o the_o wilderness_n and_o go_v after_o that_o which_o be_v lose_v until_o he_o find_v it_o christ_n be_v not_o only_o of_o a_o stout_a mind_n who_o will_v not_o follow_v the_o word_n and_o mastership_n of_o they_o but_o he_o bring_v probable_a cause_n also_o of_o his_o stoutness_n with_o great_a cunning_a refel_v their_o objection_n and_o stop_v their_o mouth_n so_o that_o they_o can_v murmur_v nothing_o against_o he_o moreover_o he_o convince_v they_o by_o their_o own_o example_n and_o deed_n and_o conclude_v that_o they_o ought_v for_o good_a cause_n to_o be_v utter_o ashamed_a be_v bold_a to_o speak_v unto_o he_o &_o reprehend_v that_o in_o he_o in_o so_o great_a a_o matter_n which_o they_o themselves_o do_v in_o a_o much_o less_o for_o by_o what_o mean_n can_v he_o better_a and_o more_o ready_o answer_v they_o then_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v he_o how_o christ_n answer_v the_o scribe_n and_o pharisee_n when_o they_o murmur_v for_o that_o he_o receive_v sinner_n unto_o he_o will_v you_o o_o excellent_a and_o most_o wise_a master_n command_v this_o thing_n and_o teach_v i_o to_o lay_v the_o miserable_a and_o sinful_a sheep_n upon_o his_o shoulder_n do_v that_o of_o his_o own_o accord_n which_o be_v to_o be_v do_v of_o the_o sheep_n as_o we_o shall_v hear_v by_o and_o by_o more_o at_o large_a but_o sure_o in_o this_o place_n the_o doctrine_n of_o both_o as_o be_v before_o also_o say_v at_o large_a or_o the_o voice_n of_o moses_n and_o of_o christ_n must_v be_v well_o discern_v christian_n the_o difference_n between_o the_o doctrine_n of_o moses_n and_o of_o christ_n must_v be_v thorough_o know_v of_o christian_n for_o moses_n ought_v to_o have_v no_o entrance_n to_o the_o lose_a sheep_n no_o nor_o by_o any_o mean_n be_v to_o be_v admit_v to_o it_o although_o he_o preach_v best_a of_o all_o other_o for_o if_o confound_v these_o we_o will_v comfort_v and_o erect_v the_o trouble_a conscience_n by_o the_o law_n after_o this_o sort_n be_v of_o a_o good_a cheer_n for_o thou_o have_v not_o commit_v homicide_n neither_o haste_n thou_o defile_v thyself_o with_o adultery_n neither_o haste_n thou_o perpetrate_v any_o other_o heinous_a offence_n or_o do_v it_o with_o a_o good_a will_n etc._n etc._n this_o also_o be_v a_o comfort_n but_o which_o can_v endure_v a_o very_a small_a time_n neither_o can_v it_o sustain_v the_o assault_n and_o violence_n of_o the_o enemy_n neither_o bring_v it_o or_o contain_v any_o thing_n else_o but_o confidence_n of_o itself_o wherewith_o the_o miserable_a sheep_n be_v holpen_v nothing_o for_o it_o remain_v as_o much_o wander_a and_o lose_v as_o before_o neither_o can_v it_o help_v itself_o or_o come_v to_o his_o own_o shepeheard_n but_o if_o we_o will_v help_v &_o succour_v it_o we_o must_v show_v unto_o it_o the_o true_a shepeheard_n who_o come_v to_o seek_v it_o that_o have_v find_v it_o he_o may_v bring_v it_o home_o again_o and_o exhibit_v his_o voice_n unto_o it_o to_o be_v hear_v hereby_o it_o may_v obtain_v true_a and_o effectual_a consolation_n and_o be_v bold_a to_o answer_v moses_n and_o say_v the_o hyreling_n be_v to_o be_v feed_v with_o brown_a bread_n and_o cheese_n &_o with_o water_n the_o other_o dainty_a meat_n and_o easy_a of_o digestion_n thou_o must_v reserve_v for_o the_o sick_a or_o child_n which_o be_v able_a to_o digest_v no_o gross_a meat_n preach_v unto_o who_o moses_n law_n must_v be_v preach_v so_o in_o this_o thing_n also_o thou_o must_v observe_v the_o same_o difference_n that_o thou_o do_v right_o distribute_v these_o thing_n and_o give_v unto_o every_o one_o his_o portion_n as_o a_o prudent_a householder_n for_o thou_o must_v keep_v the_o doctrine_n of_o and_o of_o his_o mischief_n which_o he_o practise_v against_o the_o miserable_a sheep_n to_o dasle_n his_o eye_n that_o he_o may_v not_o know_v any_o more_o his_o own_o shepeheard_n &_o under_o a_o pretence_n of_o christ_n to_o lead_v a_o man_n to_o moses_n dispute_v as_o much_o of_o christ_n as_o he_o have_v accustom_v to_o do_v before_o of_o moses_n wherefore_o we_o have_v need_n of_o a_o strong_a &_o firm_a faith_n that_o we_o may_v believe_v these_o thing_n to_o be_v true_a when_o a_o man_n himself_o must_v dispute_v even_o against_o himself_o for_o the_o sense_n be_v vehement_a of_o itself_o whereunto_o the_o devil_n also_o come_v marvellous_o amplify_a sin_n &_o terror_n the_o greatness_n and_o anguish_n whereof_o be_v able_a to_o consume_v even_o the_o marrow_n in_o the_o bone_n yea_o and_o the_o heart_n in_o the_o body_n it_o can_v not_o therefore_o be_v perfect_o learn_v so_o soon_o as_o some_o think_v in_o prosperity_n it_o be_v easy_o believe_v that_o christ_n be_v to_o the_o sense_n and_o understanding_n of_o his_o own_o heart_n which_o he_o follow_v and_o confirm_v himself_o in_o his_o own_o error_n for_o he_o be_v take_v therein_o and_o can_v think_v no_o otherwise_o but_o that_o it_o be_v true_a and_o nevertheless_o it_o be_v not_o true_a now_o it_o be_v a_o point_n of_o this_o art_n for_o a_o man_n thus_o to_o say_v unto_o his_o heart_n heart_n how_o a_o christian_n must_v speak_v unto_o his_o own_o heart_n if_o thou_o confess_v thyself_o to_o be_v a_o lose_a sheep_n thou_o say_v right_a but_o that_o thou_o will_v therefore_o run_v from_o christ_n and_o so_o think_v of_o he_o in_o thy_o mind_n as_o though_o he_o be_v a_o man_n which_o will_v chase_v and_o terrify_v thou_o it_o be_v a_o suggestion_n and_o tentation_n of_o the_o devel_n for_o hitherto_o preach_v of_o he_o neither_o have_v he_o be_v otherwise_o set_v forth_o as_o he_o be_v also_o wont_a to_o be_v unto_o such_o not_o of_o his_o own_o nature_n for_o in_o deed_n he_o be_v most_o gracious_a and_o comfortable_a but_o because_o they_o esteem_v he_o for_o no_o other_o in_o their_o heart_n behold_v this_o man_n be_v a_o hindrance_n unto_o himself_o that_o he_o can_v not_o obtain_v any_o grace_n for_o he_o know_v no_o difference_n of_o the_o judgement_n seat_n and_o the_o mercy_n seat_n yea_o he_o be_v altogether_o ignorant_a whether_o there_o be_v a_o mercy_n seat_n from_o which_o he_o so_o err_v and_o must_v be_v bind_v to_o the_o judgement_n seat_n but_o we_o teach_v thus_o of_o how_o christ_n must_v be_v learned_a and_o consider_v of_o that_o christ_n be_v so_o to_o be_v learned_a and_o consider_v that_o we_o be_v most_o certain_o persuade_v that_o he_o sit_v before_o miserable_a and_o tremble_a conscience_n that_o believe_v in_o he_o not_o as_o a_o angry_a judge_n which_o command_v forthwith_o to_o carry_v violent_o they_o that_o be_v guilty_a unto_o punishment_n but_o as_o a_o gentle_a love_a and_o comfortable_a mediator_n between_o my_o fearful_a conscience_n and_o god_n which_o say_v unto_o i_o if_o thou_o be_v a_o sinner_n and_o astonish_v and_o the_o devil_n labour_v to_o draw_v thou_o to_o the_o judgement_n seat_n then_o see_v stand_v not_o pure_o towards_o christ_n as_o the_o only_a mercy_n seat_n but_o be_v ground_v upon_o our_o one_o holiness_n as_o be_v able_a to_o stand_v before_o the_o judgement_n seat_n wherefore_o do_v thus_o we_o be_v most_o right_o cast_v of_o before_o god_n and_o condemn_v unto_o destruction_n whereof_o we_o be_v most_o worthy_a for_o if_o faith_n must_v be_v pure_a and_o void_a of_o all_o than_o these_o two_o thing_n christ_n and_o my_o work_n must_v be_v right_o discern_v and_o sever_a one_o from_o the_o other_o for_o this_o be_v plain_a even_o to_o he_o that_o be_v blind_a that_o christ_n and_o his_o work_n be_v not_o my_o life_n and_o my_o work_n but_o be_v separate_v from_o the_o law_n and_o from_o the_o work_n of_o all_o man_n yea_o and_o that_o by_o a_o great_a distance_n than_o man_n be_v unlike_a or_o differ_v from_o man_n for_o neither_o can_v i_o say_v that_o i_o and_o cesar_n or_o the_o bishop_n of_o rome_n be_v the_o same_o thing_n yet_o i_o be_o much_o near_o and_o like_a unto_o either_o of_o they_o than_o a_o mortal_a man_n and_o a_o sinner_n be_v unto_o christ_n the_o lord_n who_o be_v not_o only_o a_o pure_a and_o holy_a man_n free_a from_o all_o spot_n and_o blot_n but_o be_v moreover_o god_n also_o therefore_o let_v the_o law_n and_o the_o pureness_n of_o thy_o heart_n yea_o and_o thy_o good_a conscience_n avail_v in_o earth_n only_o towards_o into_o one_o part_n but_o my_o faith_n must_v fly_v and_o leap_v far_o unto_o a_o other_o part_n and_o join_v itself_o unto_o he_o which_o be_v pure_a and_o have_v no_o sin_n of_o who_o the_o scripture_n speak_v he_o that_o believe_v in_o he_o shall_v not_o be_v confound_v because_o he_o be_v present_a in_o the_o sight_n of_o the_o father_n and_o make_v intercession_n for_o i_o moreover_o the_o matter_n come_v at_o the_o last_o to_o this_o point_n that_o believe_v that_o god_n be_v favourable_a unto_o thou_o because_o of_o thy_o life_n lead_v without_o fault_n or_o blame_n thou_o must_v despeire_n and_o say_v who_o know_v what_o i_o have_v do_v whereby_o be_o i_o certain_a that_o i_o have_v neglect_v nothing_o through_o carelessness_n or_o that_o nothing_o be_v want_v in_o i_o in_o this_o doutfulnes_n of_o mind_n the_o foundation_n fail_v slide_v away_o under_o thou_o like_o unto_o sand_n move_v or_o stir_v and_o so_o faith_n be_v of_o no_o force_n or_o value_n at_o all_o wherefore_o it_o be_v not_o unfit_o call_v feign_v and_o paint_a faith_n through_o which_o one_o see_v as_o it_o be_v through_o a_o lattice_n or_o paint_a glass_n through_o which_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v see_v represent_v the_o colour_n of_o the_o glass_n and_o yet_o be_v not_o in_o deed_n of_o that_o colour_n so_o they_o also_o believe_v that_o that_o affection_n be_v in_o god_n that_o he_o vouchsave_v to_o regard_v our_o work_n and_o merit_n which_o they_o paint_v forth_o according_a to_o their_o own_o opinion_n and_o dream_n which_o be_v utter_o false_a rash_a and_o unaduised_a and_o so_o judge_v god_n &_o all_o thing_n according_a to_o they_o they_o see_v only_o as_o it_o be_v through_o a_o lattice_n or_o paint_a glass_n but_o so_o only_o thou_o shall_v behold_v he_o with_o pure_a and_o clear_a eye_n if_o thou_o do_v well_o separate_v the_o judgement_n seat_n and_o the_o mercy_n seat_n one_o from_o the_o other_o that_o heaven_n with_o the_o star_n thereof_o may_v remain_v pure_a to_o grace_n &_o remission_n of_o sin_n obtain_v by_o the_o mediator_n where_o christ_n reign_v with_o his_o work_n and_o the_o earth_n also_o with_o her_o tree_n and_o herb_n not_o together_o namely_o thy_o life_n and_o holiness_n together_o with_o the_o judgement_n seat_n into_o one_o place_n which_o may_v drive_v &_o enforce_v thou_o to_o have_v a_o good_a conscience_n wherefore_o forasmuch_o as_o they_o bring_v no_o commodity_n at_o all_o neither_o be_v there_o any_o need_n of_o they_o and_o they_o be_v cause_n of_o great_a hindrance_n to_o a_o christian_a common_a weal_n then_o can_v be_v think_v and_o can_v not_o by_o any_o mean_n be_v reform_v what_o can_v be_v more_o profitable_a then_o that_o they_o be_v utter_o overthrow_v and_o abolish_v moreover_o that_o we_o may_v admonish_v here_o concern_v the_o civil_a magistrate_n when_o he_o command_v or_o require_v any_o thing_n liberty_n obedience_n to_o the_o civil_a magistrate_n do_v not_o hinder_v and_o when_o conscience_n be_v urge_v in_o confession_n they_o will_v not_o stick_v to_o say_v whatsoever_o be_v enjoin_v we_o we_o have_v omit_v nothing_o of_o it_o yea_o we_o have_v give_v more_o than_o we_o be_v command_v miserable_a man_n rejoice_v that_o by_o this_o mean_v they_o may_v provide_v for_o themselves_o and_o therefore_o they_o pine_a and_o afflict_a themselves_o that_o they_o destitute_a of_o his_o help_n as_o he_o care_v for_o the_o patriarch_n joseph_n even_o in_o a_o strange_a country_n with_o who_o he_o be_v continual_o present_a as_o well_o in_o prosperity_n as_o in_o child_n of_o wrath_n and_o indignation_n this_o be_v very_o hard_a and_o a_o intolerable_a burden_n to_o the_o flesh_n and_o therefore_o he_o call_v it_o a_o burden_n or_o yoke_n but_o lest_o he_o shall_v terrify_v or_o make_v afraid_a any_o for_o that_o he_o be_v of_o great_a authority_n high_a and_o mighty_a and_o therefore_o can_v not_o suffer_v synneful_a and_o wretched_a man_n or_o for_o that_o he_o may_v seem_v to_o be_v tyrannical_a and_o ungentle_a he_o before_o cut_v of_o this_o suspicion_n say_v learn_v of_o i_o for_o i_o be_o meek_a and_o lowly_a in_o heart_n christ_n will_v here_o love_o allure_v we_o to_o his_o doctrine_n for_o he_o have_v speak_v before_o of_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o father_n as_o if_o he_o will_v say_v flesh_n and_o a_o fearful_a nature_n compt_v i_o for_o a_o austere_a severe_a and_o rigorous_a man_n but_o i_o be_o not_o of_o such_o a_o nature_n yea_o i_o be_o humble_a and_o meek_a in_o heart_n meek_a christ_n humble_a &_o meek_a i_o do_v not_o terrify_v man_n as_o moses_n do_v i_o do_v not_o preach_v do_v this_o or_o that_o but_o i_o preach_v forgiveness_n of_o sin_n neither_o do_v i_o preach_v that_o they_o shall_v give_v any_o handle_v i_o have_v try_v what_o a_o fearful_a and_o a_o afflict_a conscience_n be_v as_o the_o epistle_n to_o the_o hebreve_n chapter_n 5._o witness_v that_o he_o be_v in_o all_o thing_n tempt_v in_o like_a sort_n except_o sin_n wherefore_o let_v no_o man_n be_v afraid_a of_o i_o i_o will_v handle_v all_o easy_o and_o gentle_o i_o will_v say_v nothing_o with_o a_o sour_a contenaunce_n i_o make_v you_o shall_v have_v peace_n but_o in_o the_o world_n you_o shall_v have_v affliction_n wherefore_o although_o outward_o all_o thing_n fall_v out_o against_o we_o as_o though_o they_o will_v suppress_v and_o devour_v we_o yet_o be_v they_o nothing_o to_o be_v esteem_v of_o for_o we_o have_v the_o feelinge_n of_o peace_n inward_o in_o our_o conscience_n and_o this_o be_v the_o first_o fruit_n of_o faith_n as_o paul_n say_v rom._n 5_z therefore_o be_v justify_v by_o faith_n we_o have_v peace_n towards_o god_n through_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n now_o when_o our_o conscience_n
