point_n of_o conscience_n therefore_o first_o i_o declare_v unto_o you_o the_o nature_n of_o faith_n how_o god_n first_o work_v the_o will_n and_o the_o deed_n and_o that_o there_o be_v a_o hunger_a and_o thirst_v after_o christ._n first_o i_o say_v there_o be_v a_o will_n and_o desire_v to_o be_v make_v partaker_n of_o christ_n and_o his_o righteousness_n then_o there_o be_v the_o deed_n too_o be_v the_o difference_n then_o i_o think_v all_o have_v be_v well_o with_o i_o when_o i_o have_v such_o a_o desire_n as_o i_o can_v scarce_o be_v at_o rest_n till_o it_o be_v accomplish_v sol._n i_o answer_v belove_v it_o be_v a_o hard_a matter_n to_o tell_v you_o the_o difference_n but_o you_o must_v consider_v 1._o from_o whence_o this_o desire_n flow_v whether_o it_o come_v from_o a_o be_v hot_a the_o fire_n have_v make_v a_o change_n in_o it_o it_o be_v malleable_a the_o hammer_n be_v able_a to_o work_v on_o it_o but_o let_v the_o fire_n be_v go_v and_o it_o be_v as_o hard_a as_o before_o nay_o we_o say_v steel_n be_v hard_a so_o that_o there_o be_v no_o change_n in_o the_o nature_n of_o iron_n it_o be_v hard_a still_o redit_fw-la ad_fw-la ingenium_fw-la it_o go_v back_o into_o its_o own_o estate_n if_o it_o be_v soften_v it_o be_v by_o a_o accidental_a cause_n so_o here_o as_o long_o as_o the_o temporary_a faith_n be_v in_o the_o furnace_n of_o affliction_n when_o god_n shall_v let_v loose_a the_o cord_n of_o his_o conscience_n and_o make_v he_o see_v that_o there_o be_v no_o way_n for_o salvation_n but_o by_o christ_n than_o the_o sense_n of_o his_o torture_n will_v make_v he_o desire_v with_o all_o the_o vein_n in_o his_o heart_n to_o have_v christ._n see_v a_o singular_a example_n of_o this_o temporary_a desire_n in_o psal._n 78.34_o when_o he_o slay_v they_o than_o they_o seek_v he_o and_o return_v and_o inquire_v early_o after_o god_n so_o prov._n 1.27_o when_o their_o fear_n be_v on_o they_o as_o desolation_n and_o their_o destruction_n as_o a_o whirlwind_n when_o distress_n and_o anguish_n come_v upon_o you_o then_o shall_v they_o call_v upon_o i_o etc._n etc._n not_o with_o a_o feign_a desire_n but_o in_o truth_n and_o reality_n they_o desire_v relief_n they_o remember_v then_o that_o god_n be_v their_o rock_n and_o the_o high_a god_n their_o redeemer_n they_o see_v a_o redeemer_n when_o he_o be_v slay_v of_o they_o and_o they_o in_o cold_a blood_n when_o god_n hand_n be_v not_o on_o they_o the_o true_a believer_n be_v sick_a of_o love_n and_o when_o he_o have_v no_o affliction_n nor_o god_n hand_n on_o he_o with_o the_o apostle_n he_o account_v all_o thing_n dung_n and_o dross_n for_o the_o excellency_n of_o the_o knowledge_n of_o christ_n jesus_n philip._n 3.8_o there_o be_v a_o ardent_a desire_n when_o this_o
