upon_o never_o subdue_v many_o time_n it_o be_v thus_o and_o though_o they_o do_v not_o conclude_v thus_o yet_o how_o often_o be_v they_o put_v to_o this_o desperate_a lift_n to_o look_v every_o moment_n when_o they_o shall_v fall_v and_o fall_v total_o and_o lose_v all_o they_o shall_v not_o have_v a_o relic_n of_o grace_n in_o they_o it_o be_v thus_o with_o the_o saint_n of_o god_n last_o because_o there_o be_v no_o grace_n receive_v be_v able_a to_o hold_v without_o continual_a influence_n from_o heaven_n this_o be_v the_o nature_n of_o the_o grace_n of_o the_o second_o covenant_n you_o have_v a_o stiff_a faith_n indeed_o what_o believe_v and_o no_o sense_n and_o feeling_n such_o a_o horrible_a wretch_n and_o such_o a_o guilty_a conscience_n and_o you_o believe_v what_o have_v you_o to_o show_v be_v any_o one_o promise_n in_o the_o bible_n to_o such_o a_o one_o as_o you_o that_o be_v so_o foul_a and_o filthy_a and_o can_v pray_v nor_o do_v any_o thing_n you_o see_v god_n cast_v you_o off_o where_o be_v any_o promise_n for_o you_o to_o hang_v upon_o yes_o i_o can_v believe_v for_o all_o this_o because_o the_o gospel_n be_v not_o tender_v to_o sense_n and_o feeling_n and_o such_o and_o such_o thing_n but_o to_o every_o one_o that_o will_v have_v christ_n and_o i_o will_v have_v christ_n and_o so_o much_o the_o more_o eager_a be_v my_o heart_n to_o have_v he_o the_o more_o i_o be_o trouble_v and_o cast_v down_o the_o more_o i_o will_v have_v christ_n and_o grace_n here_o be_v my_o hold_n this_o be_v the_o thing_n the_o sure_a word_n of_o faith_n it_o be_v call_v the_o word_n of_o faith_n rom._n 10.8_o now_o you_o know_v the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v true_a whether_o a_o man_n believe_v or_o no_o and_o now_o when_o faith_n come_v in_o it_o lay_v hold_v upon_o that_o general_a word_n the_o thing_n be_v true_a so_o that_o if_o any_o man_n come_v and_o believe_v though_o i_o never_o find_v it_o before_o i_o believe_v it_o yet_o now_o i_o may_v hang_v upon_o it_o and_o there_o be_v nothing_o in_o the_o world_n will_v put_v off_o satan_n more_o than_o this_o he_o will_v say_v you_o have_v christ_n how_o can_v you_o have_v he_o you_o be_v proud_a may_v be_v so_o and_o so_o here_o he_o hang_v upon_o the_o general_a tender_a of_o christ_n three_o man_n because_o this_o be_v that_o same_o simple_a scripture_n that_o be_v simple_o true_a in_o can_v effectual_o call_v a_o man_n before_o any_o act_n of_o grace_n in_o man_n but_o only_o the_o general_n tender_v of_o the_o gospel_n these_o be_v the_o truth_n that_o be_v simple_o true_a in_o themselves_o before_o any_o thing_n be_v do_v upon_o man_n it_o may_v be_v true_a that_o god_n have_v elect_v i_o but_o it_o be_v not_o a_o scripture_n truth_n before_o something_o be_v do_v in_o i_o the_o scripture_n do_v not_o say_v simple_o in_o itself_o that_o i_o be_o elect_v before_o some_o grace_n be_v put_v forth_o in_o i_o if_o i_o have_v grace_n put_v forth_o already_o in_o i_o than_o i_o may_v say_v that_o god_n do_v special_o intend_v it_o to_o i_o and_o do_v elect_v i_o in_o christ_n before_o all_o world_n but_o now_o these_o truth_n can_v call_v a_o man_n because_o before_o four_o the_o reason_n of_o the_o point_n and_o five_o the_o use_v hope_n for_o the_o first_o what_o this_o hope_n be_v and_o it_o be_v a_o hope_n that_o arise_v out_o of_o the_o faith_n of_o possibility_n when_o the_o lord_n let_v in_o a_o possibility_n of_o faith_n and_o make_v the_o soul_n believe_v that_o his_o sin_n may_v be_v forgive_v and_o he_o may_v attain_v everlasting_a life_n and_o he_o may_v come_v to_o be_v a_o saint_n and_o one_o of_o god_n dear_a and_o faithful_a child_n he_o let_v in_o such_o a_o possibility_n into_o the_o heart_n and_o this_o hope_n flow_v out_o of_o this_o faith_n of_o possibility_n and_o this_o faith_n of_o possibility_n be_v another-gesse_a thing_n than_o people_n take_v it_o for_o every_o drunkard_n will_v say_v he_o believe_v that_o it_o be_v possible_a to_o be_v save_v and_o to_o find_v mercy_n with_o god_n but_o you_o will_v find_v it_o be_v a_o great_a matter_n than_o so_o it_o be_v speak_v as_o a_o great_a commendation_n of_o abraham_n that_o he_o do_v believe_v that_o god_n be_v able_a to_o raise_v up_o his_o son_n isaac_n heb._n 11.19_o so_o our_o saviour_n christ_n speak_v to_o the_o blind_a man_n ask_v he_o this_o question_n every_o sinful_a wretch_n think_v it_o be_v a_o easy_a matter_n to_o believe_v that_o christ_n die_v for_o sinner_n and_o that_o they_o may_v be_v save_v it_o be_v a_o easy_a matter_n for_o the_o faith_n of_o presumption_n but_o if_o a_o man_n eye_n be_v open_v and_o his_o conscience_n awaken_v and_o he_o come_v to_o have_v a_o sight_n of_o his_o sin_n now_o cain_n will_v say_v his_o sin_n be_v great_a than_o can_v be_v forgive_v and_o judas_n be_v not_o able_a to_o fly_v unto_o christ_n to_o believe_v a_o possibility_n of_o pardon_n but_o go_v and_o hang_v himself_o and_o despair_n total_o of_o the_o business_n this_o faith_n of_o possibility_n it_o come_v within_o the_o compass_n of_o a_o definition_n of_o faith_n it_o be_v the_o evidence_n of_o thing_n not_o see_v it_o be_v far_o above_o our_o nature_n and_o flesh_n &_o blood_n can_v reveal_v it_o that_o there_o be_v salvation_n in_o christ_n and_o that_o there_o be_v such_o a_o thing_n as_o a_o pardon_n to_o be_v have_v at_o god_n hand_n let_v a_o man_n have_v his_o understanding_n enlighten_v to_o see_v what_o a_o wretch_n he_o be_v and_o how_o fearful_o he_o have_v provoke_v god_n wrath_n against_o he_o and_o it_o be_v not_o in_o his_o power_n to_o believe_v that_o there_o be_v a_o possibility_n for_o he_o to_o find_v mercy_n or_o any_o hope_n of_o pardon_n it_o can_v be_v attain_v to_o without_o the_o work_n of_o god_n a_o weak_a shelf_n be_v able_a to_o hold_v when_o a_o man_n lay_v but_o a_o book_n upon_o it_o but_o if_o a_o man_n lay_v a_o great_a weight_n upon_o a_o weak_a shelf_n it_o will_v break_v under_o it_o so_o it_o be_v with_o the_o faith_n of_o man_n when_o there_o be_v no_o weight_n lay_v upon_o it_o the_o burden_n of_o the_o lord_n be_v not_o lay_v upon_o they_o then_o they_o may_v think_v it_o be_v a_o easy_a matter_n to_o have_v salvation_n and_o their_o sin_n pardon_v but_o if_o this_o weight_n shall_v be_v lay_v upon_o they_o their_o faith_n will_v burst_v unless_o the_o lord_n shall_v be_v please_v to_o put_v in_o a_o better_a faith_n than_o this_o it_o be_v not_o in_o a_o man_n power_n to_o look_v beyond_o the_o power_n of_o justice_n for_o a_o man_n to_o believe_v that_o there_o be_v mercy_n in_o god_n contrary_a to_o the_o sentence_n of_o his_o own_o law_n and_o contrary_a to_o the_o sense_n and_o feel_n of_o a_o man_n own_o soul_n and_o therefore_o when_o the_o lord_n be_v please_v effectual_o to_o call_v a_o man_n though_o he_o lie_v a_o bleed_a bleed_a before_o in_o the_o sight_n and_o sense_n of_o his_o misery_n he_o open_v a_o door_n of_o hope_n
