of_o that_o which_o be_v in_o itself_o indifferent_a or_o innocent_a verse_n 17._o christianity_n consist_v not_o in_o such_o external_a matter_n when_o leave_v indifferent_a in_o their_o use_n as_o they_o be_v in_o their_o nature_n and_o not_o command_v by_o lawful_a superior_n for_o decency_n and_o order_n but_o in_o the_o practice_n of_o christian_a virtue_n such_o as_o obedience_n to_o the_o law_n of_o superior_n iâ—_n thing_n not_o sinful_a mercy_n peace_n delight_v to_o do_v one_o another_o good_a to_o build_v up_o one_o another_o in_o piety_n not_o divide_v and_o hate_v and_o excommunicate_v one_o another_o verse_n 18._o all_o these_o be_v act_n of_o obedience_n to_o christ_n that_o be_v sure_a to_o be_v accept_v by_o god_n and_o to_o be_v of_o good_a report_n among_o all_o good_a man_n verse_n 19_o therefore_o let_v we_o most_o zealous_o attend_v to_o these_o thing_n which_o may_v thus_o preserve_v peace_n between_o all_o sort_n of_o christian_n though_o of_o different_a persuasion_n and_o which_o tend_v to_o the_o draw_v man_n to_o christianity_n not_o drive_v they_o from_o it_o verse_n 20._o let_v not_o so_o inconsiderable_a â—aâ—ters_n as_o these_o external_a thing_n wherein_o no_o man_n who_o be_v instruct_v in_o his_o christian_a liberty_n place_n any_o religion_n further_o than_o obedience_n to_o the_o just_a law_n of_o lawful_a superior_n disturb_v that_o peace_n and_o unity_n which_o ought_v to_o be_v among_o believer_n though_o of_o different_a persuasion_n about_o indifferent_a thing_n for_o a_o man_n may_v eat_v any_o thing_n simple_o consider_v but_o if_o by_o so_o do_v he_o alien_n other_o from_o the_o gospel_n by_o despise_v and_o avoid_v they_o who_o dare_v not_o do_v so_o this_o be_v a_o sin_n in_o he_o verse_n 21._o it_o be_v not_o charitable_a to_o make_v use_n of_o any_o part_n of_o christian_a liberty_n when_o by_o thy_o so_o do_v another_o man_n be_v deter_v from_o the_o christian_a faith_n and_o by_o some_o unhappy_a occasion_n of_o thy_o misuse_v liberty_n be_v so_o gall_a and_o wound_v in_o his_o conscience_n as_o that_o he_o can_v with_o any_o inward_a comfort_n or_o satisfaction_n go_v on_o in_o the_o discharge_n of_o his_o christian_a duty_n verse_n 22._o if_o thou_o have_v a_o clear_a understanding_n of_o thy_o christian_a liberty_n it_o be_v well_o for_o thou_o but_o use_v it_o betwixt_o god_n and_o thyself_o not_o always_o before_o man_n when_o it_o may_v be_v in_o danger_n to_o hurt_v they_o and_o when_o it_o be_v not_o necessary_a to_o reveal_v thy_o practice_n in_o such_o matter_n yet_o when_o command_v by_o lawful_a authority_n thing_n indifferent_a in_o their_o nature_n become_v necessary_a in_o their_o use_n he_o be_v a_o happy_a man_n who_o when_o he_o know_v a_o thing_n lawful_a do_v so_o manage_v the_o practice_n of_o it_o that_o he_o have_v therein_o no_o reason_n to_o accuse_v or_o condemn_v hmself_n verse_n 23._o but_o there_o be_v no_o reason_n that_o the_o scrupulous_a christian_n shall_v be_v evil_o entreat_v by_o thou_o for_o not_o dare_v to_o do_v as_o thou_o do_v when_o he_o think_v himself_o in_o conscience_n otherwise_o oblige_v for_o it_o will_v be_v a_o damn_v sin_n in_o he_o to_o do_v what_o his_o conscience_n tell_v he_o be_v a_o unlawful_a action_n for_o whoever_o do_v any_o thing_n though_o the_o thing_n be_v in_o itself_o lawful_a which_o be_v in_o his_o persuasion_n sinful_a and_o unlawful_a he_o certain_o sin_n in_o so_o do_v rom._n 15._o verse_n 1._o the_o more_o instruct_v christian_n who_o right_o understand_v the_o nature_n and_o extent_n of_o their_o christian_a liberty_n aught_o to_o help_v and_o relieve_v those_o who_o do_v not_o understand_v it_o and_o to_o be_v watchful_a to_o keep_v they_o from_o fall_v into_o sin_n not_o to_o please_v themselves_o too_o much_o by_o presume_a upon_o their_o own_o strength_n and_o knowledge_n so_o as_o to_o neglect_v and_o despise_v other_o who_o have_v not_o so_o much_o verse_n 2._o we_o shall_v all_o of_o we_o rather_o do_v what_o good_a we_o can_v towards_o the_o edification_n of_o other_o men._n verse_n 3._o herein_o follow_v the_o most_o imitable_a example_n of_o our_o saviour_n who_o do_v not_o so_o much_o consider_v the_o please_a of_o himself_o as_o to_o do_v what_o be_v of_o public_a concernment_n reckon_v all_o that_o befall_v his_o father_n to_o fall_v upon_o he_o and_o be_v as_o tender_v of_o god_n honour_n as_o of_o his_o own_o 1_o cor._n 8._o verse_n 1._o we_o who_o be_v orthodox_n christian_n have_v that_o knowledge_n of_o our_o christian_a liberty_n and_o therefore_o ought_v not_o to_o be_v despise_v by_o those_o who_o in_o pride_n of_o heart_n separate_v themselves_o from_o we_o that_o together_o with_o our_o knowledge_n we_o hold_v charity_n and_o the_o love_n of_o god_n which_o incline_v we_o to_o suffer_v any_o thing_n for_o christ_n sake_n so_o that_o a_o idol-feast_n be_v no_o trouble_n to_o our_o conscience_n for_o we_o need_v not_o to_o come_v at_o they_o to_o save_v we_o from_o persecution_n a_o little_a of_o this_o courage_n and_o love_n of_o christ_n be_v much_o better_a than_o all_o the_o pretend_a deep_a knowledge_n of_o those_o who_o choose_v to_o comply_v with_o any_o religion_n which_o their_o own_o conscience_n tell_v they_o be_v false_a rather_o than_o confess_v and_o suffer_v for_o christ_n and_o that_o religion_n which_o their_o own_o conscience_n tell_v they_o be_v the_o only_a true_a religion_n verse_n 2._o therefore_o if_o man_n please_v themselves_o with_o a_o opinion_n of_o knowledge_n from_o such_o subtlety_n as_o these_o and_o so_o come_v to_o despise_v other_o man_n and_o not_o consider_v what_o tend_v to_o their_o good_a and_o edification_n they_o be_v
