and_o purge_v it_o and_o sin_n be_v call_v dead_a work_n not_o formal_o as_o if_o they_o have_v no_o life_n or_o activity_n in_o they_o but_o effective_o because_o they_o be_v deadly_a work_n that_o bring_v death_n to_o the_o sinner_n and_o of_o their_o own_o nature_n keep_v the_o sinner_n dead_a for_o ever_o these_o deadly_a work_n be_v the_o spot_n and_o blot_n that_o defile_v our_o conscience_n and_o from_o these_o our_o conscience_n be_v purge_v by_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n not_o only_o in_o that_o we_o be_v free_v from_o the_o guilt_n of_o they_o in_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n and_o consequent_o from_o all_o punishment_n of_o they_o but_o also_o in_o that_o we_o be_v deliver_v from_o the_o sense_n of_o that_o guilt_n and_o from_o the_o fear_n of_o punishment_n and_o so_o our_o conscience_n be_v case_v of_o a_o grievous_a burden_n and_o it_o be_v not_o for_o nothing_o that_o the_o author_n will_v rather_o say_v purge_v our_o conscience_n than_o our_o mind_n the_o inward_a part_n of_o we_o opposite_a to_o the_o flesh_n because_o thereby_o he_o will_v show_v that_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n do_v also_o cleanse_v away_o that_o misery_n and_o torment_n of_o the_o conscience_n whereby_o man_n conscious_a of_o their_o wickedness_n do_v tremble_v and_o quake_v for_o fear_n of_o god_n judgement_n this_o be_v most_o certain_a that_o true_a and_o solid_a most_o merciful_a god_n last_o there_o some_o thing_n total_o void_a of_o all_o true_a offence_n as_o for_o example_n if_o any_o man_n have_v touch_v a_o dead_a body_n though_o it_o be_v of_o duty_n to_o bury_v he_o which_o be_v rather_o a_o matter_n of_o piety_n then_o of_o offence_n yet_o because_o this_o and_o other_o such_o like_a case_n be_v condemn_v by_o the_o law_n of_o uncleanness_n therefore_o they_o be_v to_o be_v expiate_v either_o by_o some_o sacrifice_n or_o by_o the_o holy_a water_n of_o separation_n therefore_o all_o the_o use_n of_o those_o sacrifice_n be_v to_o expiate_v of_o the_o conscience_n for_o if_o we_o look_v upon_o the_o nature_n of_o the_o thing_n what_o force_n have_v the_o blood_n of_o beast_n offer_v in_o the_o sanctuary_n that_o thereby_o it_o shall_v cleanse_v the_o flesh_n or_o be_v repute_v to_o cleanse_v it_o be_v not_o this_o effect_n of_o purify_n the_o flesh_n tie_v to_o the_o shed_n and_o offer_v of_o that_o blood_n only_o by_o the_o decree_n of_o god_n and_o that_o it_o may_v be_v account_v to_o have_v this_o effect_n must_v they_o not_o have_v a_o knowledge_n of_o god_n decree_n by_o some_o other_o mean_n but_o for_o the_o power_n unto_o christ_n and_o to_o produce_v in_o we_o the_o cleanse_n of_o our_o conscience_n he_o that_o ponder_v all_o this_o in_o his_o mind_n can_v he_o doubt_v but_o that_o by_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n he_o be_v expiate_v from_o all_o stain_n of_o sin_n if_o he_o embrace_v the_o faith_n of_o christ_n with_o all_o his_o heart_n and_o afterward_o as_o far_o as_o the_o hope_n of_o
