if_o you_o come_v to_o a_o house_n in_o the_o night_n and_o knock_n at_o the_o door_n the_o dog_n will_v bark_v but_o when_o the_o noise_n be_v over_o and_o they_o perceive_v you_o be_v go_v they_o will_v lie_v down_o in_o their_o kennel_n again_o so_o be_v it_o in_o this_o case_n when_o christ_n come_v near_o unto_o thou_o and_o knock_v by_o conviction_n and_o thou_o be_v awaken_v and_o seem_v and_o alas_o when_o god_n have_v withdraw_v his_o spirit_n from_o the_o world_n to_o what_o purpose_n be_v it_o second_o no_o only_o so_o but_o the_o lord_n do_v hold_v they_o from_o see_v and_o judgement_n for_o holiness_n now_o they_o may_v be_v for_o sin_n mal._n 3.15_o they_o call_v the_o proud_a happy_a and_o whereas_o before_o they_o do_v approve_v of_o thing_n which_o be_v excellent_a yet_o now_o they_o think_v it_o a_o vain_a thing_n to_o serve_v the_o lord_n and_o they_o say_v with_o those_o apostate_n mal._n 3.14_o what_o profit_n be_v there_o in_o serve_v the_o lord_n three_o embrace_v the_o pleasure_n of_o sin_n afresh_o six_o whereas_o they_o have_v some_o conviction_n of_o the_o power_n of_o the_o world_n to_o come_v and_o some_o sad_a thought_n of_o eternity_n be_v dart_v into_o their_o spirit_n that_o they_o can_v not_o be_v quiet_a the_o love_n of_o the_o present_a world_n the_o profit_n pleasure_n and_o honour_n of_o it_o eat_v up_o all_o these_o and_o they_o forget_v that_o there_o be_v such_o a_o thing_n as_o eternity_n to_o be_v provide_v for_o and_o they_o live_v only_o as_o if_o they_o be_v to_o live_v to_o this_o present_a world_n seven_o such_o man_n do_v not_o only_o fall_v back_o from_o their_o couviction_n and_o seem_a work_n of_o conversion_n but_o they_o go_v forward_o in_o wickedness_n perhaps_o not_o know_v or_o practise_v by_o they_o before_o this_o we_o find_v mention_v 2_o pet._n 2.20_o ifaster_n they_o have_v escape_v the_o pollution_n of_o the_o world_n through_o the_o knowledge_n of_o our_o lord_n and_o saviour_n jesus_n
