first_o of_o this_o instant_a february_n 1643._o entitle_v a_o ordinance_n for_o the_o present_a recruit_v of_o the_o army_n under_o the_o immediate_a command_n of_o the_o earl_n of_o essex_n lord_n general_n ordain_v that_o the_o say_a army_n shall_v be_v forthwith_o recruit_v unto_o the_o number_n of_o seven_o thousand_o five_o hundred_o soot_n beside_o officer_n and_o 3000._o horse_n beside_o hundred_o place_n and_o division_n within_o their_o respective_a city_n county_n and_o place_n as_o to_o they_o shall_v seem_v expedient_a and_o to_o take_v to_o their_o assistance_n for_o the_o more_o speedy_a execution_n of_o the_o say_a service_n in_o their_o several_a division_n such_o able_a and_o sufficient_a person_n as_o they_o shall_v think_v fit_a and_o to_o assemble_v and_o meet_v as_o often_o as_o to_o they_o shall_v seem_v good_a and_o forthwith_o the_o say_a committee_n or_o any_o two_o or_o more_o of_o they_o respective_o be_v hereby_o authorize_v and_o require_v to_o direct_v their_o warrant_n to_o such_o number_n of_o person_n as_o they_o shall_v think_v fit_a within_o their_o several_a and_o respective_a division_n to_o be_v assessor_n of_o the_o say_a rate_n weekly_a assessment_n in_o a_o ordinance_n of_o parliament_n of_o the_o four_o day_n of_o may_n last_o pass_v entitle_v a_o ordinance_n of_o both_o house_n of_o parliament_n for_o the_o speedy_a according_a to_o their_o respective_a interest_n be_v hereby_o require_v to_o allow_v such_o deduction_n and_o payment_n upon_o the_o receipt_n of_o the_o residue_n of_o their_o rent_n and_o to_o give_v acquittance_n for_o the_o whole_a rent_n as_o if_o no_o deduction_n have_v be_v make_v and_o if_o any_o landlord_n shall_v refuse_v to_o make_v such_o allowance_n or_o deduction_n or_o to_o give_v such_o acquittance_n than_o the_o respective_a committee_n for_o the_o sequestration_n in_o the_o city_n county_n and_o place_n aforesaid_a upon_o proof_n thereof_o make_v before_o they_o be_v hereby_o authorize_v for_o every_o time_n they_o shall_v so_o refuse_v to_o seize_v and_o sequester_v for_o the_o service_n aforesaid_a one_o full_a half_a year_n rend_v payable_a to_o such_o person_n so_o refuse_v allow_v out_o of_o the_o same_o the_o sum_n of_o money_n so_o pay_v by_o the_o tenant_n as_o aforesaid_a and_o if_o any_o difference_n shall_v arise_v between_o landlord_n and_o tenant_n or_o any_o other_o concern_v the_o say_a rate_n the_o say_v several_a committee_n or_o any_o two_o of_o they_o in_o their_o several_a division_n have_v hereby_o power_n to_o settle_v the_o same_o as_o they_o shall_v think_v fit_a and_o the_o say_a collector_n and_o every_o of_o they_o be_v hereby_o require_v from_o time_n to_o time_n to_o pay_v such_o sum_n and_o sum_n of_o money_n as_o shall_v be_v by_o they_o collect_v by_o virtue_n of_o this_o ordinance_n to_o the_o say_a sir_n gilbert_n gerard_n treasurer_n at_o war_n and_o be_v it_o further_o ordain_v that_o the_o several_a and_o
