A DECLARATION OF THE Parliament Assembled at Westminster WHereas by a Clause in an Act of this present Parliament for Enabling and Authorizing certain persons to be Iustices of the Peace and Sheriffs It is provided That all and every person and persons who on the Sixth day of May or at any time within Three moneths before did or might Act as Iustices of the Peace Iustices of Oyer and Terminer or Sheriffs of or within several Counties Cities and Places within Scotland and Ireland respectively be and are hereby appointed and authorized to be Iustices of the Peace Iustices of Oyer and Terminer and Sheriffs respectively of and in the said several and respective Counties Cities and Places And whereas under colour of the Power given to the Sheriffs of Scotland by the said Clause They do take upon them to proceed in a Iudicial way to the Trial of Civil Causes whether Personal or Real contrary to the true meaning of the said Clause It is therefore Declared That all such Proceedings in Civil Causes Personal or Real are not Authorized by the said Act but are to be forborn Thursday the 7th of July 1659. ORdered That this Declaration be forthwith Printed and Published Thomas St. Nicholas Clerk of the Parliament London Printed by John Field and Henry Hills Printers to the Parliament And are to be sold at the seven Stars in Fleet-street over against Dunstans Church
